The Karlsruhe Palace is an 18th century Baroque palace located in the center of circular grounds and houses a cultural history museum. The exhibitions are well-organized and the staff is friendly. The multilevel floors showcase a vast amount of history, so wearing comfortable shoes is recommended. Paid parking is available under the castle, with a quick walk to the palace where visitors can enjoy its beautiful exterior before entering.
Friendly staff and well laid out exhibitions. Didn't realize how big the Palace was with multilevel floors filled with history. Wear comfortable shoes. Definitely worth a visit. We parked in the paid parking under the castle, with a quick walk to the palace you get to see the full exterior walking to the entrance.

A very nice and historical palace to visit with the family and children. This place is full of information and the staff is friendly and helpful. The view from the tower is beautiful and magnificent. The gardens are well maintained. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are going to Karlsruhe.
H M — Google review
Big disappointment. The building itself is beautiful. We were expecting nicely renovated rooms inside and to be able to see what the palace used to look like originally. Instead it’s a bloody museum. Couldn’t see anything from the original interior. The exhibitions themself were placed in a very boring way. You can make a museum interesting but here I feel like didn’t even try. Top of everything nothing was translated to English in the exhibition. You go to a museum in Czechia or Poland or anywhere you see English descriptions. All together, beautiful building turned into a boring museum. Felt like I was in a school field trip again but I volunteered to do so

Whist the gardens and the Palace are wonderful and the museum packed with fascinating artifacts , the staff could do with a lesson in friendliness and perhaps put aside their phone and watching tik toks

Beautiful place. The museum is good. Unfortunately, for international travellers, there is limited translation. The view from the tower was worth the climb. The surrounding garden is serene.

Visited on a sunny day, went up to the top, the view is perfect, you can see the symmetry of the architecture, be informed that the stairs to the top can be a bit tough. The museum itself literally exhibits everything, from local history to worldwide artefacts, even industrial products. But it is fun visiting and exploring.
Li Chen — Google review
Beautiful building and wonderful museum inside. Pay the little bit extra to go up the tower!
Cory Shelton — Google review
Beautiful building with so many artifacts to look at! We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of exhibits in the museum. It definitely exceeded our expectations. Stunning works of art and the price was reasonable. €8/adults I wish there would have been a cafe or something there to have a coffee afterwards but there was nothing we could find.

Karlsruhe Palace is a true gem nestled in the heart of Germany. With its stunning architecture, expansive gardens, and rich history, it's a must-visit destination for travelers seeking a blend of culture and relaxation. The intricate details of the palace's design and the serene atmosphere of the surrounding park make it a perfect spot to immerse yourself in history while enjoying a leisurely stroll. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or simply someone looking for a peaceful escape, Karlsruhe Palace will undoubtedly leave you inspired and in awe of its beauty. Don't miss the chance to experience the charm and elegance of this remarkable landmark.
Alejandro Arellano — Google review
I did not know the interior of the castle, as I went very early and it only opens to the public at 10 am. We took a walk through the well garden. The day was inviting, as the temperature was pleasant and the sun reigned, this makes all the difference for those who live in cold countries :). There is underground parking with plenty of spaces at an affordable price. The only negative point is the garbage left by the uneducated people who were there the day before. There is nothing worse than human beings who litter such a beautiful environment.

(Translated by Google) Coming from the main station - with tram 2 - you first have to cross the street to the left, on Brauerstraße in Südweststadt to Lorenzstraße, so the tram stop is a parallel street away from the ZKM on Brauerstraße. In addition to the tram stop, there is also the bus stop, with bus 55 you have to go a little further to the left - here on Süddstraße until you come to Lorenzstraße and the left entrance, which leads to the Städtische Galerie. This is an integrated part of the building, but there is no passage to the ZKM. When I looked for the ZKM for the first time, people I interviewed knew nothing. If you don't have a city map or cell phone navigation system, you'll hardly find any clues. The tram stop is equipped with covered seats and in front of the stop there is a traffic light to the left towards ZKM. My photos show the ZKM from the outside (Original) Vom Hauptbahnhof kommend - mit der Tram 2 - muss man erst nach links die Straße überqueren, auf der Brauerstraße der Südweststadt zur Lorenzstraße, die Tram-Haltestelle liegt also eine Parallelstraße entfernt vom ZKM auf der Brauerstraße. A very beautiful place with a great view of Karlsruhe. they have a small turmbergbahn which takes you up the slope.or else you can just climb the steps(rather steep in my american opinion) on a sunny day it is a great view, there is a restaurant on top and some ruins which let you view from an even higher height.

A real fun way to spend an afternoon! I would totally recommend taking the Bergbahn as well because it’s kinda fun. It seems to be really popular for children, so I would take my family if they were here with me. Still a great time!

The Karlsruhe Botanical Garden, established in the early 1800s, showcases an impressive collection of plants from across the globe within its large and historic greenhouses. Visitors can pay a small fee to explore even more fascinating plant life. The outdoor garden is free to enjoy and offers a peaceful spot for reading, relaxing or having a picnic. Situated next to the castle and its gardens, it's an interactive yet tranquil destination that attracts many visitors.
This is a beautiful garden; just big enough and small enough. I spent an hour here outside and then went into the greenhouses which costs 3 Euros (the outside was free) .

One of my very favourite spots in Karlsruhe. It's a nice and calm place but nevertheless interactive because you can have a picknick there, gaze at the plants and flowers, have a drink or snack at the restaurant or simply sit on one of the many benches to relax and enjoy the environment. The pictures speak for themselves :) Addition: I visited the indoor area part of the botanical garden for the first time today, and it's really nice. There is a small entrance fee and the area consists of 3 big halls. I loved the huge cacti and climbing plants on the walls.

Amazing display of plants from all over the world. The green house is worth the extra money and not that expensive if you want to see even more cool plants. Most are labeled for you to see what they are and where they’re from. External garden is free and a great place to read and relax. Right next to the castle and the castle garden.

Restaurant Oberländer Weinstube is a refined European eatery with an extensive wine selection, situated in a charming 19th-century edifice alongside a lush courtyard. While the prices may be on the higher side, patrons receive exceptional quality for their investment.
Really good food and wine! The restaurant itself is beautiful, staff friendly and know their job.

The location is beautiful and the food excellent . It’s expensive but you get quality for what you pay. It makes for a very nice dinner in a pleasant atmosphere. Only two points why not 5 stars. 1) the mark-up on wines seems to be very high. I bought a Chardonnay Kopp am Altenberg 2019 for 60 euro, while retail price is around 20. This means a mark-up of around 200%. Seems to be a lot for a bottle with such price. 2) a “weinstube” could do with a professional sommelier to really guide the customers through the vast choice.

Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurant Terra Mare is a Mediterranean eatery that draws inspiration from Greek and Spanish cuisine, offering a variety of tapas, grilled meats, and seafood dishes in a simple yet inviting setting. Customers can enjoy their meals without the need for reservations, as the accommodating staff gladly seated us upon arrival. For starters, we indulged in the saganaki appetizer which was followed by delightful entrees of octopus and lamb. The accompanying roasted potatoes and fresh vegetables were flavorsome and well-seasoned.
Top place! Very delicious food and nice vibes. Very friendly service. We enjoyed a nice lunch with grilled octopus and meat and red wine! Desserts were offered by the staff - not in menu. Highly recommended. Parking nearby on premises or at the Kongresszentrum garage.

I recommend visiting this restaurant. It is so worth going out of main street and serching this place. Short but tasty menu. My grilled octopus was perfect. Very friendly english speaking Lady. It was visible that she had good time speaking to every guest.

Perfect place if you want to have a quality dinner or lunch. The food was amazing, everything we ordered was prepared to perfection. The service was super warm and friendly. The kitchen provides you to the best mixture of two great cuisines, Greek and Spanish. Highly recommended!

Delicious seafood. Both presentation and taste were good. Zero "fishy" smell or taste, properly cooked and seasoned. We liked all, but the grilled octopus was especially tasty - soft, juicy, with the smoky aroma filling your mouth with every bite (not overpowering). The service was also good. Attentive, fast, pleasant and responded to every wish positively.

My husband and I went here without a reservation and they were kind enough to seat us inside. We ordered saganaki as an appetizer and the octopus and lamb as entrees. The fresh vegetables and roasted potatoes were delicious and well seasoned. The lamb and octopus were some of our most delicious meals while traveling throughout Europe! The level of service with the attentive, personable and courteous staff made our evening. Highly recommended!!

Tapas tapas and more tapas! This places was amazing. The boquerones were delicious, the octopus was perfect, calamari were fresh and the gambas were super tasty. The server was of great help and they accommodated ya without a reservation. The place gets crowded around 6:30 pm so try to be there earlier. It’s location is very convenient and the prices may be a bit on the high side but definitely worth it. Make sure you stop by and enjoy some delicious fresh food at this place. They also have lamb which was great

Spanish restaurant
Toro Tapasbar is a restaurant located in the western part of Karlsruhe's city center. It offers Spanish cuisine, with options that also cater to fans of European and Mediterranean food. The establishment prides itself on serving great beverages and freshly prepared tapas, while the owner's hospitality sets it apart from other restaurants like L'osteria, Bratar, or Purino. Visitors have praised their self-cured olives as some of the best in Germany.
Besides great drinks and freshly prepared tapas we really enjoyed the owner's hospitality. Something you'll never get at a L'osteria, Bratar or Purino. We had a discussion with him about their self-cured olives, likely the best ones we had so far in Germany. Absolute recommend!
Sascha Wirges — Google review
The moment you arrive to the place you can smell the Spanish flavour. The place is fully decorated as a traditional Spanish tavern. The staff working there are super welcoming and friendly. Given the fact that is a tapas bar, the prices are quite high for such a dish, but most of the tapas are tasty. My top 1 has to be Boquerones en vinagre (not to be confused with the fried boquerones!). I do not recommend the Serrano ham though, you end up paying a fortune for cheap quality ham. Their wine selection seems nice. I would not turn this place as one of my regulars as I do believe it is overpriced, but definitely a good choice when u feel homesick.
piink it is — Google review
The place has a beautiful ambience, and seems to be always full or reserved, so make sure you book in advance. The food tastes good, but I wouldn't say it's something extremely out of the ordinary. I tried the chorizo, the croquettes and fried calamari, and the only thing that stuck with me was the calamari, it was very good, soft and came with aioli, as a perfect combo. The croquettes were ok, but you couldn't really tell what the filling was (there is supposed to be daily option with fish/meat). The service was good and fast. However, a big minus in my opinion are the prices, which for a tapas bar, are extremely high (for the warm ones around 8+ euros). You basically pay close or the same as a full meal would cost in another restaurant to get a tiny dish. I'm all up for tapas, but a more reasonable price to what they offer would be 5-6 euros max, with maybe a bit more for the seafood options. Paying 14.50 euros for a few shrimps in Panade is way over the top.
It's Emma — Google review
Best Tapas in town. So tasty. The place is always packed, so reservation is obligatory. The only thing I would ask for is better drinks. The wine is okay, beer is nice, but the sangria - of all the drinks you could fail - is just meh.
Kong Kongterton — Google review
Pretty decent portions and good service. The sangria had way too much ice and not enough sangria, and the shrimps were very small for the price they charge. The prosciutto was really good, as were the cheeses. Would go back :)
R — Google review
Food is ok and prices also good. The service try to sell beverage at all costs and can make your evening a little bit uncomfortable. But they are nice. I will recommend to make a reservation and don't leave without trying the eggplant carpaccio

Tasty restaurant with a cool interior. Good service, food was pricy, but tasty. Ordered Sweet potatoes as a side expecting fries, but turned out to be a whole sweet potato, which was a tasty surprise. Meat unfortunately grew cold rather quickly, it might be worth considering warmed plates for group meals. All in all, a tasty evening.
Benj W — Google review
We were a party of 8. All but one of our party enjoyed the breakfast. The one left was forgotten and when it eventually came out it was cold. We’ve eaten there quite a few times and it’s usually quite consistent with their quality.
Marie Taylor-Morrison — Google review
Very disappointing. The steak itself was very good, but everything else was below average. The menu is small which is fine, but to only have French fries or sweet potato fries as sides is not good. No creamed spinach, vegetables, jacket potato, side salad, nothing. Very strange. The service was also very disappointing - the waiters brought us the wrong wine, and when we wanted to order more, she was nowhere to be found. When eating out starters, nobody came to ask how they were, and our empty plates were left on our table for 15 minutes until our main course came. The waiter actually came to our table with the main course, and had to go back to the kitchen to put them down, take away our old plates, and then bring back the main course. Overall, very disappointing and not worth the money spent. Would not come back, and sorry to say, would not recommend.

My friend and I had the pleasure to visit this beautiful establishment, and ohh boy our taste buds were blown to a million fireworks of taste, ordours and the restaurant's ambience. It was very cordial for the chef to serve us, with one of how own personal home grown tomatoes. The topping of the cake was one waitress serving the entire floor with ease and poise. Kudos to you.

Very nice (and kinda expansive) restaurant. Beside all the steaks with different cuts, you can order fish and burger (dry aged one is awesome) as well. Good selection of drinks (beer, long drinks, cocktails, wine). However, everything is a bit small, not offering much space between the people.

Very good steakhouse type of restaurant. The terrace in the pedestrian street was a plus. The cuisine is fine, The meat was excellent, The Wine was seriously overpriced though. One remark : The Wine was presented opened which is something you are not supposed to do. The Barbaresco was amazing anyhow but I found it strange that they would not open The bottle in front of us.
