Bodies of Water
Bega River, flowing through the heart of Timisoara, offers a picturesque setting with lush greenery and charming bridges. The riverbank provides a beautiful walking path where you can admire the cityscape and the Timisoara Orthodox Cathedral from afar. In summer, riverside cafes and restaurants create a lively atmosphere. Bega River is not only an aquatic lifeline but also a hub for events and festivals that celebrate the city's natural beauty.
Very nice view.

Nice place for walking, relaxing. In the past river was cleaner and you could swim, but now you can't.

A very nice river which pass through all Timisoara Town. To admire the places, and parks that are situated on both banks of the river you can take the public bus boat and make a short journey. The boats are new and modern. A good way of transportation!
eugen domunco — Google review
Nice to have a walk on the shore, you can also take the boat bus but there are still some thinks that need improvements. Also Bega Boulevard it's a lovely event and in the summer you may enjoy a lot of restaurants on both sides.
Valentin Popovici — Google review
The dirtiest and the most smelly river you can find in Serbia. To be even funnier there is no industiral waste, the main reason is that sewerage from the whole city with around 70k citizens, goes to this river, then via Tisza and Danube to Black sea where people swimming in our wastewater

Nice river, too bad it has dirty water!Stop putting toxic in the rivers!
Vladimir Popovic — Google review
One of the nicer things about Timisoara has to be its river Bega. Recently some things have changed but here's an update : 1) the closer you get to the central part of town, the more you'll be pleased aesthetically by the river banks. 2) good place to go by bike for a ride. Nice for long strolls. A good choice for runners also. 3) you've got many options when it comes to food and drinks as far as I am concerned 4) plenty of parks near it that you can explore if you chose to do so 5) activities such as kayaking are out for now because city council has put in a new transportation system in place (small boats up to 50 people i think) that I can't be 100% objective about because some restrictions have been put in place now on water sports on the river so I'll let you make up your mind on how you feel about it. 6) fishing is possible if that's something you enjoy 7) further plans on enhancing aesthetics are in place and on going.

Museums
The Timișoara Art Museum is a grand baroque palace that houses an impressive collection of classic and contemporary art from local, national, and international artists. The museum's elegant exterior and interior make for a breathtaking experience. Additionally, it features an extensive collection of icons from across the country. Visitors can purchase admission tickets at affordable prices to enjoy a vast array of artworks while also being allowed to take photographs.
It’s my 2nd time there and first time since the renovation. The renovation is great! Love the new area and the refurbishment of the building is nicely done. It has a special exhibition of Japanese art and it’s interesting to see the art from Edo period, coming from someone who’s lived in japan for a few years.
Shirley F — Google review
The paintings and art are mostly classical and vary from impressionism to still life and realistic portraits... although, to be fair, the art contains only the titles and their painter/sculptor. They could be more elaborate on the origins or the way the painter painted his feelings and or story. Besides the art, the security is not great, they want to see your card then send you somewhere else because you are not permitted to enter a certain area and later they say that you can visit that area, it is just a lack of communication and consistency. Overall experience was okay, improvements could make this place awesome 👌

This is a Must-See while visiting Timișoara. Love everything: from the architecture, to the art collection, to their special events and friendly staff! ♥️
Otilia Ga?l — Google review
I've been to this museum between 5 and 10 times over the years. I've seen some bold, unique exhibitions, from local and global artists. I really enjoyed it each time. PS: there's a room in this old building that was still preserved to look like it did hundreds of years ago, where I participated at concerts and conferences. I love to look at the attention to detail in that room, it's so impressive.
Camelia Filip — Google review
Honestly about the Brâncuși exhibition: Impressive art! It is such an honour to see the works of the great artist! But bad organisation: 1. The tickets are checked only in the 2nd floor so, a lot of persoans, that do not have tickets for the time frame can enter (and really do that - what is worse, they are accepted in a different time frame, crowding the place). 2. Directions: after the security gate atbteh museum gate there is no indication for the Brâncuși exhibition. One has to ask. 3. The exhibition space is small in comparation to the space of others exibitions and the total area of the museum. Each room feels confortable with maximum 5 persons. More than this felt too much. 4. The hall way right after the entrance to the exibition is incredibly narrow and there are always a lot of people that can barely pass by each other. IT is very hard to see this exhibits here. 5. Some staff are not careful with noise and exit the exhibition leaving the door open and all the outside noise come in. We visited the exhibition on a Wednesday afternoon.
C. Maia — Google review
Very nice museum that shows regional and international artists. There are many interesting works of art to see and the architecture is also nice. Unfortunately, I have to deduct one point because I think the 20 euro entrance fee is far too much.
Fabian S. — Google review
Impressive both on the outside and on the inside as a building in and of itself, the museum holds one of the most impressive collections of art in the country. Local, national and international art is represented and also a collection of icons from across the country. The admission ticket is a mere pittance for what you get to discover and photos are also allowed.
Claudiu — Google review
Housed in the beautifully restored Baroque palace, the National Art Museum hosts permanent art exhibits as well as temporary ones. Right now the temporary exhibit is the artwork of Victor Brauner. We enjoyed it very much.
Adriana Y — Google review
An incredibly cheap entrance for an impressive collection of art, that includes both Romanian and International artists, and a wing dedicated to the Cucuteni culture (5000-3500 BCE). A ticket of 24 RON ( ~5 euros) included entrance to another 3 (small) galleries of the National Banat Museum (military history of Banat; Stefan Popa Popa’s gallery; and a temporary gallery about the Ottoman presence in Banat). The building in itself is also beautiful and rich in history.

Great museum. Highly recommend to spend some time & take in the exhibits. Some of the works will have an unfathomable impact. Staff & security team are polite & helpful. Nice bunch.

I simply love it, especially the second floor is quite nice and very rich in European 15/16 centuries artifacts and important paintings.
GINA DOICIAR — Google review
Impressive Barroque building, located in one of the most spectacular squares of the city. Since September 2023, this is the venue of a stunning Brancusi exhibition, although the museum seems not to be fully prepared for this large number of visitors. Museum's bookstore was almost empty, even the exhibition catalague was out of stock (however, it was still available at a certain bookstore, next street); there is only one toilet for visitors, located at the underground level, so many people were waiting in line to get in. If you consider visiting the museum, be sure that you're not going to need the restroom during your tour. Anyway, the Brancusi exhibition was a great experience.
Ionut Sendroiu — Google review
Nice art museum! It was quite big but barely anyone inside. A lot of paintings from Romanian artists. Unfortunately, the exhibition from Constantin Brancusi was already over.
Marceau Foulon — Google review
This museum is awesome. It is location is the heart of Timișoara and the art is unique. I have never been more excited about a museum before. If you visit Timișoara this definitely should be on your to do list. Strongly recommend!

Visited Brancusi expo but dissappointed about the staff and organization. They seem uninformed and offering confusing info. The person who check the tickets and enter you in the expo had a bossy attitude, 'he was always right and the client is wrong' kind of attitude. The expo was nice, but I expected to see a shop with souvenirs with Brancusi. They could make a lot of money with this.

Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Maria Theresia Bastion, named after the Austrian Empress Maria Theresa, is a significant piece of the defensive wall from the 18th-century Austrian-Hungarian fortress in Timisoara. This bastion was part of a larger defensive structure built over 300 years ago to counter advancements in military technology. It used to be the largest military fortification in Romania until its walls were demolished due to urban development. Today, it covers about 1.
Beautiful historic place.
Bobby B. — Google review
Good progress has been made to make good use of these historical buildings. The staff of the younger generation is very accommodating and happy to help. The older generation ... But I guess it is hard to get rid of the attitude acquired during communist times in organisations that still operate like then.
Brad Vrabete — Google review
Beautifully reconditioned and re-purposed 18 century fortifications. The place does, however, need a lot of work in terms of promoting it. Amazingly helpful and friendly staff at the Info booth.
Bogdan Groza — Google review
8 lei for an exhibit that lasted 5 mins. No English translations, which I would have at least expected in a museum. There was an exhibit about an Italian director (no idea why in Timisoara) and 5 would have also expected at least Italian, but no translations at all. A waste of 8 lei. Outside is nice ish but they're doing a lot of refurbishments. I believe it used to be a castle or a fort? Well it just looks like a modern building now so they've destroyed any sign of it being an old building. The woman in the cartoon exhibition was rude. I was walking there to have a look and she refused to moved out of the doorway. She was just about to leave the exhibition and close up. I saw her there 5 mins later so she probably went to the toilet but she gave me a look like I had insulted her. Do not recommend going here. Ever.

Last remaining bastion of the 18th century fortification. Well preserved, but it could have been used in a much better way.
Daniel Haman — Google review
Theresia Bastion named after the Austrian Empress Maria Theresa, is the largest preserved piece of defensivewall of the Austrian-Hungarian fortress of Timișoara. It covers about 1.7 hectares of the city center. It was builtbetween 1732–1734. Today it is used as a passage, but it also houses commercial spaces, restaurants, bars. After the conquest of Timișoara by the Habsburgs in 1716, it was realized that the old fortifications could notcope with new fighting techniques, therefore it was decided to rebuild the whole city in Pagan style (a fortress-stronghold of a stellar shape). It had an area larger than the Ottoman medieval fortress. The city wassurrounded by three stellar belts that could be filled with water. Access was via three gates: of Vienna,Petrovaradin and Transylvania (completely demolished in 1891). The nine bastions of the fortress were namedafter kings and queens or generals. In the second half of the 19th century, the majority of the city walls wasdemolished to make room for the rapidly expanding city.
Pio — Google review
The Bastion used to be part of the old Citadel, being an arrow-shaped space in the North. These walls were all that remains from what surrounded the city in the 19th century as they were taken down under Austro-Hungarian Empire. Right now there is a museum in renovation (hope to see it in 2021) and a delicious restaurant and flowers everywhere.

The Banat Village Museum is an open-air architectural museum that showcases traditional village life through a collection of vintage homes, a school, and a church. The museum is located in a serene park with a pond and offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Ukraine. Annually hosting Ukrainian Culture Festival on April 30th adds to its allure as an interesting destination.
A vintage place filled with culture and richly blended in nature's beauty. I would recommend going here and having a leisurely walk to fully immerse yourself into the antique homes and pond. I will definitely be going back!

Entrance is 10 lei for adults. Went there with the family 3 weeks ago, it was fairly empty. We were able to visit a couple of houses but most of them were closed for conservation or maintenance works purposes. However, there was no real sign that such works were actually done. The kid was very disappointed because of this. There are some old tools around but it is quite hard to understand their purpose, functionality, especially if you are a city person or a foreigner. One may find a toilet there which looks ok from the outside but I have never seen in my entire life such dirty and disgusting WC basins. Absolutely horrible. I would be totally uncomfortable with the thought of working there and have such unkept toilets.

The place is amazing and very welcoming! I definitely recommend visiting it during the warmer seasons, you will be able to see the true colors and details without being cold. You can turn up the light in most rooms and houses. The location is a huge park where you can also have a stroll and a snack on the bench. Parking available on the street, low entrance fee and usually no queue. Definitely recommend!

Very interesting museum with old buildings, calm and big park. Every year here there is Ukrainian culture festival 30.04.2021.

I’ve seen better. Not a big park and not very many vintage houses. Some of them are very renovated, they looked like were built today. The museum was closed today for a private event, kind of bad for people who are in Timisoara just for a day or two and really wanted to visit the place.

It is peaceful place and large area to take a brisk walk, they have fantastic old houses and the smell of house reminds of village era. If you want to feel vintage, it's a good place for you. It's good for kids due to ample space for running, playing and all this in between nice forest area. :)

What a beautiful museum. I do enjoy here, spend the weekend after work so hard. Feels so refresh. The fresh air, the beautiful flowers and the green tree, seems like in another universe. So worth it for 15 lei.

A nice place, surrounded by forest and nature ☺️ not much to see inside, but relevant decorations. And I loved the postcard from the ticket! A nice souvenir for the 15 Ron entrance fee!

Great experience! Nice work to try keeping alive the old village traditions of the last 2 centuries.
Marius Filip — Google review
While the buildings are interesting, much of the context is missing. Each house is mainly shown in its own right, while the interrelations of the many different groups is hardly mentioned.
Stefan Seuring — Google review
A nice open air museum which worth to visit. There are a lot of replica houses of the Romania area beginning of 18th to 20th century. Some of them are open and you can get in. Inside there are old objects that people used on that period. In from of each house there a plate which give some explanation about of the house like as the period of using, the area and the materials that were used for the built. Generally, it's a good option if you want to spend a couple of hour in a interesting measure in the nature. Also recommended for children.

Restaurant
Neața Omelette Bistro is a highly recommended dining establishment in Timisoara, Romania. Situated centrally, it offers an ideal setting for breakfast, brunch, or dinner. The restaurant exudes a warm and inviting ambiance and boasts an extensive selection of omelets and other egg-based dishes that are expertly prepared. Additionally, the prices are remarkably affordable, with a breakfast and coffee costing less than 5 units of currency.
I’m really happy that in 2 years Neata kept the same good taste on their meals but now they are brought faster to the table and we got everything we ordered at once. Really nice job, food tasty, just a bit pricey if you think of the quantity. It was kinda loud and crowded when we got there but better when people left.
Cyntia Hegyes — Google review
One of the best brunch places in Timisoara. Delicious food, lovely atmosphere in the old town. Good frappe too. Lots of vegetarian options. The bathroom could be cleaner though.:)
Ana S — Google review
Food was delicious. There is so many options for egg lovers, and maybe just few for people who do not like eggs. Also there are sweet options like pancakes. Staff is polite and fast. We got our coffee and food I think in 3-5 minutes. Place is crowded, there is waiting line in front of the place so I felt presured to eat and go 😁
Olivera Osmeh — Google review
Well, the food looks really nice but once you eat it you can tell is not that delicious, it just doesn't have much taste. 😒 The waiters are not very friendly and you always have to ask them to take your order or pay, they never check in with you. I think this place can do better. Also, they don't serve speciality coffee, which I think would be a big upgrade!
Miriam Toh?tan — Google review
This seems to be a very popular breakfast place in Timisoara - so popular that people sometimes wait (shortly) in line to be seated. They offer a variety of breakfast foods: mostly eggs in many ways, but also waffles, pancakes, bagels... The portions are really big- too big if you ask me. Two people who are not too hungry could easily split one. I ordered a classical omelette, and my husband had an egg-bagel. The omelette was only average, unfortunately. It lacked flavor. The egg bagel looked very good. Besides this we had coffee each, and fresh citrus juice. Juice felt a little watery. Price of all this was 117 lei, which is less than 25 EUR. The service was good! It's a popular place with tourists, young couples and friend groups.

Very good restaurant for a fast breakfast. They have a generous menu, medium portions. I had to take also desert in order to consider myself with the quantity of food. The restaurant was full at 11 30, however they have generous space and you can find places fast. They scanned the vaccination certificate for all the people around us. Another thumbs up.

Went here for breakfast on 2 different occasions while visiting friends. Food is quite good and tasty. However, the 2nd time we were among the first so quite early and the egg and toast was cold. I assume it was prepared before to avoid hectic during rush hours, but it didn’t taste as good as 1st time. Would still try it another time and recommend it.
Dana Elena — Google review
Excellent place to have breakfast. Waiting time is not that much even when the restaurant is full, and the food was varied and tasty. Coffee was great too! I think the prices are also very good for what you get. The waiters could be more friendly and professional but everything went well. The location seemed modern and clean, way bigger than you would expect.

If you love eggs this is the place to go -great variety of eggs dishes. Perfect place for brunch. We ordered Scrambled avocado and Benedict eggs - very tasty! For 2 dishes, 1 cappuccino, 1 latte and 2 fresh orange juice we paid 25€. Service was ok and fast. Bathroom is quite dirty 😕

Excellent brunch and coffee. Be aware thet it can be crowded, it's one of the most popular restaurant in Timisoara. At the time of our arrival (Saturday) it was a long waiting queue in front of the location, but we were luckily enough to have a table in about 5 minutes.
Teodora Antonie — Google review
We visited Timisoara on a Sunday and when we arrived, we were quite hungry and in the mood for brunch. From all the places, this one looked like the place to be. We waited for about 15 minutes to be seated, the place was really crowded. I ordered eggs BLT, my husband got scrambled eggs with salmon in a croissant, and my friends got french fries. The french fries were good, but the eggs are not worth it. In my dish, the avocado was tasteless and so were the eggs. I don’t know what seasoning they used, if any, but they were not tasty. My husband said the same, he could not taste the salmon, the dish was quite flavourless. They serve costa coffee, and I expected them to serve some kind of specialty coffee, but I guess not. Place looks really nice, but it’s quite expensive. A bit of a tourist trap 😅
Roxana Mateiu - Vescan — Google review
The food is ok, but given the reviews I read before, I was expecting something more. It is somewhat plain in flavor. But all in all, the food is good (and it came fast, probably 10 mins after we ordered), great service, good prices. The coffee doesn't seem to be specialty coffee, but it tasted ok. Kids-friendly (they have chairs, coloring books etc).

Great food. Great service, great staff, great location. I've been here several times. It's always a great place to try something new. Interesting magic green beans tea. It's blue at first, but after some lemon juice, it's turning pink. For two dishes, two deserts, and two magic tea's, we paid about 30 euros. So, good value for money 😅

Delicious Vietnamese cuisine, and polite and attentive service, it was an amazing evening! I think that because this restaurant closes too early or maybe prices are higher than average but there were not so many people on Friday evening. Definitely recommend this establishment to everyone in the city.
Vladyslav Kondratiev — Google review
as someone who has eaten at a Little Hanoi restaurant before (just a different location) and enjoyed it, I was really disappointed with the food we recieved. the quality of the products was overall not up to par. even though the Pho Bo and Chicken Gyoza were good(not great, not really flavorful-just plain but ok), the fried rice with chicken was very poorly made, the chicken being cold and plain and the vegetables in the rice dish still frozen in most places. when we brought this problem up to one of the waitresses we were met with quite an attitude, which we didn’t think was necessary. i couln’t say i’d recommend this to someone who enjoys authentic vietnamese cuisine :(
alexandra — Google review
I would classify the food as good food court food. Anything more than that would be an equally laughable and unpardonable exaggeration. The place itself looks fine. Just fine. It hasn’t got a particular character. Kind of like the equivalent of a well-maintained office. It’s as comfy as it needs to be and nothing more. The waitresses, on the other hand, were rude, unprofessional, and slow. First off, I was cut off right in the middle of asking, as we’ve entered the establishment, if there were any free tables for two people. “Wait here until my coworker cleans that table”, barked the lady at me. And so we did. For some time. Then, another waitress asked us, if we wanted to eat there or take our food to go. Upon having answered her question, we were instructed, by pointed finger and military tone, to go sit down at a corner table. Then, the waiting. Oh, the waiting. And just when you think that there can’t possibly be any more waiting…there is more waiting. Yet another waitress came to our table, in the end, and took our order. Then…Can you guess? You’re right! Waiting Part II: The Longer Waiting. To our surprise, the food was brought to us by yet another waitress, not the one who took our order to begin with. At 9.30 pm, we were told, as all other guests had been told as well, that the kitchen is now closed, in a tone that let us know that we were expected to get up and leave asap. Fair enough. I asked for the bill and…waited some more. Close to 13 minutes, actually. Why? Well, the nice ladies had themselves a nice get together at the bar. Just a bit of chit chat on company time, as it were. Indeed, she had forgotten that I had asked for the bill. When she finally turned to face us, accidentally walking in our direction, we made eye contact. What a nice moment that was! Shock was painted on her face, as she quickly turned around, speedily walking to the computer, tap tap tapping on the little icons, and producing the bill. I don’t often not leave a tip. I only did so once last year. No idea when it’s happened before that, to be honest. I didn’t leave one today, as the waitress immediately became aware. She took the booklet away before we even managed to get our jackets on, next to the table. As we were walking towards the exit, she was standing at the bar, talking the minutes away with the other waitresses, and counting the money, one bill at a time, in front of all the guests. That is an absolutely vulgar thing to do in any profession where one deals with money, other than, perhaps, drug dealing. But I’m glad she did, in a way. She should know what the value of her service is. Exactly $0.

Very cosy at night with all the lights on. The only disadvantage are annoying gypsies when they are present. They start speaking loudly and behaving wildly. You can't wait to finish your food and run from them. One of my visit I had to ask to change my table due to loud yelling children disturbing others. Apart from this, the food is very good and the waiters are very nice.

Food is good most of the time, although sometimes they add way too much salt. I had to refuse the food 2 times because of this. It's a good place for spending time with friends during dinner time, but I don't recommend going here for lunch unless you don't mind waiting 50 min for your food.. Especially if you're in lunch break. Friendly staff, nicely decorated place.

The food was ok but not so special, the portions are large but also rather pricy, the service was trying to be nice but the fact that half of the menu was not available did not help (food and drinks were equally not available). Then we received the wrong dishes, which after 5 minutes were seamlessly delivered to another table directly from ours. And then we overheard the waiter explaining how the couple at the next table can't block 1 table at dinner time by ordering only coffee (the restaurant was half empty). Altogether, I can't recommend this place, it was a let down on every side except the food, which is mediocre.

Nice place with charme. Service was really good and fast at the beginning, but was slow at the end. Food was good. Merlot red wine wasn't my taste.

We discovered this restaurant by mistake, being fans of Asian food and previously experienced Vietnamese, Filipino and Chinese foods at its home, we entered being just curious. It is the best Asian food we have tried so far in Romania, great service, great taste and of course the prices are not low, but it worth that. Portions are impressive, the taste again... 👌 Thanks to Anca, who served us, we had a great dine-in dinner on Saturday night. Kids were amazed by both soup and noodles. Thank you!

As Vietnamese I can say that the food is spot on and really tasty. The egg coffee was nice, did not have stinky odor from the egg. The serving lady was really attentive, the lady that brought us the bill as a bit confusing and put a bit on top of what I said I would give as tip.

A surprisingly nice Asian restaurant!! We had the Pad Thai Bo, which I heavily recommend. The staff was nice but we waited a little too long for them to get our order. The food is good, it's my first time eating vietnamese food so I cannot compare to anything else. The place is cozy and welcoming. I suggest you should try this restaurant!!

Nice food, atmosphere and service. The portions are large and prices are moderate. Though the food was tasty, I still felt like more flavor was missing for 5*

The taste of Vietnam!! The food is very good, delightful, if you want to try the asiatic food this is the perfect place. The staff is friendly and the place is looking fine and the atmosphere is chill. * I tried for the first time vietnamese egg coffee and I was surprised I liked it, definitely will drink again next time.

Located in a stunning 18th-century villa by the River Bega, Restaurant Merlot offers an elegant dining experience with ornate chandeliers, adorned mirrors, and a pianoforte. The menu features gourmet delights like foie gras terrine with sesame crust and pear-avocado sauce, lobster bisque, creamy risotto with red beets and monkfish, and caramelized lamb chops. This upscale establishment is perfect for those seeking a sophisticated dining experience in a historic setting.
The service is very prompt and polite. When it comes to the food, everything is intensely flavored and very carefully cooke

Super service and food! Everything was perfect, really tasty food and friendly staff! I had the best carbonara spaghetti ever! Recommend totally!

One of the best restaurants in Timișoara, Merlot is a jack of all trades. The location is superb, being set on one of the most beautiful streets of Timișoara, with lush greenery and splendid trees. The restaurant offers dine-in and takeout, and for dine-in you can choose between sitting inside or on the terrace. If you're going out for dinner, the terrace is the better choice, as there's little to no traffic and the experience is simply better. In terms of dishes, there's an excellent variety of starters, soups, pasta, fish, grilled meats, and desserts. They also have a Josper grill, which simply makes the dishes tastier. The service is impeccable, exactly how you'd expect from a top restaurant. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable in terms of food and wine pairing.

Really good food. Fancy restaurant. The price is according to the high food quality 😉 I recommend it for special occasions.

Service was perfect, our waiter was always on the ball and our glasses were never empty. Food was very strong as well. We had the beef Wellington and it was beautifully executed. A sharing platter as a starter was also delicious with the highlight being the beef tartare. Cheesecake for dessert was the proverbial cherry on top. Wine selection is varied and the suggestions of the staff matched perfectly with our dishes. Overall, i can highly recommend Merlot as a great place for a business dinner.

Probably one of the best restaurants in Timișoara..amazing food & great service 👌

The establishment is located in the historical Neptune Palace near Decebal Bridge two significant city landmarks. The food was delicious and the service was high quality except for the fact that it took a long time to get the bill, maybe. The atmosphere inside was calm and relaxing at the midday of the work day. The prices were average/a little bit higher compared to same-class competitors.

Merlot restaurant has a reputation as a fancy restaurant and due to this a high quality standard to maintain. Usually the food here is good with high quality ingredients. The atmosphere on the terrace is relaxed as you have a view of the parc across the street. They have a retractable sun shade that can function as a good protection against rain as well. Inside you can feel a bit stuffy in the summer if the air-condition is not turned on. The waiters are professional and efficient.

I only tried a dessert - lapte de pasare and socata. It was delicious, great balanced taste, not overly sweet, and good sized portion. The presentation was nice. The interior of the restaurant is fancy and elegant. The staff was polite and professional.

Really enjoyed both the catering provided at the conference by the owners and the dinner at Merlot later in the day. The fillet with asparagus was perfection and the homemade elderflower lemonade is so refreshing. Great service. Would absolutely return.

Merlot orchestrated a culinary symphony at the medical course. From appetizers to desserts, Merlot curated an epicurean journey that left everyone raving. The staff, akin to culinary virtuosos, shared insights into the meticulously crafted dishes, adding an extra layer of enjoyment. Merlot, you've earned a solid 10/10 from me. For those seeking a culinary adventure, the Salmon and Truffle Bruschetta and Pulled Pork Burger are must-try highlights. Kudos for turning a meal into a memorable experience! 🌟🍔

Vinto is a well-known restaurant and wine bar located in the heart of Timisoara, on a pedestrian street leading to Piata Unirii. It offers a unique culinary experience with a variety of options for vegetarians and vegans, such as beet tartare, burrata with truffles, and grilled carrot vegan burger. The place boasts an excellent selection of Romanian and international wines that perfectly complement the menu.
Great food, nice music & ambiance and really good service. We didn't even know what to choose from all the great dishes from the menu - everything sounds so delicious. Not to mention the wine selection as well 😍 Really good balance between the proportion of ingredients, I could really appreciate the taste. Thumbs up, keep up the good work!

A bit too over the top with the food. We went there to have a corporate dinner but the dishes were a bit off , only the salmon and grilled vegetables was very good. There is no question that they know their wines ! Staff really polite, little English but manageable , would have liked to hear the name of the dishes spelled correctly and not Romanian style. Very clean and cozy!

Vinto was a nice experience, with good food, friendly staff and a welcoming place. I had the tuna with peanuts, which was very good. Of course, they have a good and diverse wine selection.

Great selection of wines and food! Staff are friendly and helpful! For my taste, lights should be dimmed out a little bit, and selection of cheese and cured meat could be better!

Excellent restaurant in the heart of Timișoara, in my opinion the best place to eat in the city. While the prices are quite a bit above average for Romania, it's easily offset by the quality of food you're being served. The dishes are delicious, elegantly plated and very well thought out. The wines are high quality and I really recommend trying out pairings from the menu (especially if you're not really an expert in wines), as the wines always perfectly fit the food and you cannot go wrong. Last but not least, the waiters are highly professional, knowledgeable and kind to clients. Hats off for this restaurant.

We chose Vinto to spent a nice evening with friends enjoying a good talk, great wine and nice atmosphere. The prosecco and the wine were served exactly by the book, we were impressed. Nevertheless, the food is fantastic and we opted for some shrimps and something for starter.

Cosy restaurant; very good, tasty and tasteful food and wine; the service was fine; waitress was helpful, she explained the dishes, as well as recommended us the drinks. A bit pricey, but overall quite a nice dinner and enjoyable evening.

Nice place if you're not hungry. Waited 1 hour for the food to arrive. Other than this, the place is great: nice vintage restaurant with various wines beautifully displayed, located in the pedestrian city centre; food is good, tried the burgers (both traditional and vegetarian), a bit pricey (time is money too); very kind staff.

We went to Vinto for supper - what a. Great idea! Staff was incredibly knowledgable about the wine, really friendly, helpful and the menu is varied and food was cooked superbly. Very fresh ingredients, really tasteful! Restaurant has good decor and very homey. Only downside is only one male WC! Absolutely go and eat here!

Vinto is a lovely elegant wine bar & restaurant in the centre of old Timisoara. The decor is nice inside with bottles hanging from the ceiling and many tables on the terrace as well. As other diners have pointed out, the service is excellent! Great recommendations and friendly team. The wine pairings are very interesting and there are even some special offers 🍷🍾 Definitely try the local Romanian ones! 🍝 Highly recommend the Pasta dishes - the beef cheek (so tender) and truffle Pappardelle and giant shrimp bisque Tagliatella are both exquisite and a great portion. On the other hand, the sardine bruschetta wasn't served on grilled bread itself (but rather sourdough) so not that crunchy. Lastly, for dessert we did not like the Poppy cake at all (there was a lot of poppy and kinda hard) but probably just down to personal tastes and I am sure the other cakes are maybe traditionally tastier. Overall it was a slightly more expensive meal but in my opinion well worth it, in a stylish setting.

Vinto presents an outstanding dining experience! Its inviting ambiance exudes warmth, setting the stage for a delightful meal. The duck dish, bursting with delectable flavors, proved to be an absolute delight. Accompanied by an impressive array of wines, each sip further elevated the culinary journey. A nice restaurant with an interesting selection of dishes and a big list of wines. The staff was friendly and the food we chose was delicious. As appetizer we had the red lentil pancake which was good but was burnt on one side. For the main we chose the gnocchi with mushrooms and tuna in peanuts crust which were delicious.

Homemade in Timisoara, Romania is a top restaurant known for its cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The interior feels like a stylish living room with playful touches of green and turquoise against a neutral backdrop. The menu features classic Romanian dishes such as meatball soup, grilled minced pork sausages, polenta, and grilled beef rolls.
One of the coziest restaurants I have ever been to. The design is great and offers a warm atmosphere, you feel totally relaxed here, they've put a lot of work into it. The food is great with some unique dishes. Reservations are recommended. The entrance might be a bit tricky to find since there is no billboard but know it's just around the corner, number 40

A little difficult to find from outside on the street if you didn't know what was inside, however once inside, tastefully decorated, like a lovely apartment. We were treated to a complimentary glass of Țuică to start. Our meals were simple and delicious, we both had the stuffed chicken breast with a basil and spinach puree and finished with the most scrumptious papanaşi!

Lovely restaurant with interesting, tasty dishes and decent prices. The menu is extensive and offers plenty of alternatives for all dietary requirements. Overall a nice place but it could have been so much nicer if the waiter wouldn't have been so dismissive and unwelcoming for absolutely no reason (we were also served by a lady and she was lovely).

Absolutely delicious!! It is at least one time experience. The chefs do a great job. Even if you say you do not usually eat something, here you will eat with pleasure, trust me. Good food, good home vibe, especially now when is almost Christmas. Feeling like at grandparents' home

The food was delicious. The service was good but not excelent, one of the waiters didn't knew the dishes names when she served them. We were a big group-14 persons and we received a table indoor, there was no AC or other ventilation, it was very warm at some point we were all sweating.

We ate in the garden. Interesting atmosphere, but it can get loud at times. Food was good, but the potatoes were cold and the fish was hot. Lemonade is good, but a bit too sweet for our taste, I assume because of the honey.

This restaurant is something else. Nestled in a house near the city centre, it is like you go into a person's living room. What is even better is that they have a terrace and in the summertime you can have some magic moments. The food is great and I believe you cannot go wrong with anything you order. I have had some Scorilo beers and they were great. Not your usual beer to find in restaurants, but it was a wonderful surprise. No surprise that the prices are high, but hey...you do not go to these kinds of restaurants every day. I was there with a group of colleagues from my company, 10 persons and the waiter was disappointing. He was a young guy and tried to be funny, but his humour was to daring. Also more customers joined inside and outside, our waiter was overwhelmed. I had to look for him and tell him several times to bring another beer or something else. If the service could be improved than this restaurant would shine on the culinary stage of Timișoara.

Title: Great Food, Slow Service Review: I recently dined at "Homemade," and while the food was delicious, I was left disappointed by the slow service. The restaurant's unique design and concept were impressive, but the overall dining experience was hindered by the delays in serving our meal. Let's start with the positives. The food at Homemade was exceptional. The flavors were rich, and each dish showcased the chef's expertise in creating mouthwatering delicacies. From the appetizers to the main course, every bite was a delight to the taste buds. The menu boasted a range of homemade dishes, and the freshness of the ingredients was evident in the quality of the meals. However, I cannot overlook the significant downside of my visit—the slow service. Despite being informed that our dessert would take approximately seven minutes, it was frustrating to witness it being served to the neighboring table instead. The anticipation for the dessert was ruined, and it disrupted the flow of our meal. The staff seemed overwhelmed or understaffed, resulting in the lengthy wait times between courses. Nevertheless, I must applaud the restaurant's design and concept. The unique ambiance and decor created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail in the interior design added a touch of sophistication to the dining experience. The concept of Homemade, focusing on showcasing the art of homemade cuisine, is commendable and adds a personal touch to the overall dining experience. In conclusion, the food at Homemade is undoubtedly outstanding, with flavors that tantalize the palate. However, the slow service and the misplacement of our dessert to another table were significant letdowns. I hope the restaurant management takes note of these issues and works towards improving the efficiency of their service. With some adjustments in their operations, Homemade could truly become a top-notch dining destination that matches the excellence of its cuisine.

Amazing food and great service. Really friendly and helpful staff. Everything was perfect and we can’t wait to see you again soon!

The food is just not worth the steep prices. The taste of most dishes is bland or directly bad and the quality of the ingredients is questionable at best. The dessert was decent. Our waiter forgot to bring a part of our drink order and we had to wait for the check for about 10 minutes because he forgot we asked for it. We didn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive. In terms of food, the only dish worth mentioning is the camembert salad, which is quite difficult to mess up since the camembert is store-bought. All our cooked dishes were terrible. The yogurt wings have no chicken taste, the batter is thick and overpowering. The duck was overcooked. The burger buns were dry and flaky.
Liviu-Cristian Mihon — Google review
The place is not marked from the outside whatsoever, so don't be afraid to just enter the building, then you will see. It looks like you walk into someones living room, but it's the charm of this place. Each room and table is different and there are nice details in each. The food was awesome both from the presentation and taste point of view. The stuff was very nice and funny.
