The Palazzo d'Avalos in Vasto is a Renaissance palace that showcases four museums under one roof. The Museo Archeologico displays an assorted collection of ancient artifacts, while the Pinacoteca Comunale features paintings by 19th-century artists such as the Palizzi brothers.
Marvelous palace in the best of Vasto. Being able to visit it for 3,5 euro would already be a treat. Instead it also houses a magnificent pastiche of many collections: archeology, costumes, modern art, paintings by the brothers Palizzi, and a restored Neapolitan garden. All for 3.5 euro and open until midnight. They deserve every penny.

Southern Italian restaurant
Ristorante La Transumanza, a renowned eatery in southern Italy, enjoys peak popularity at 9 PM on Saturdays. Visitors typically spend around 1.5-2.5 hours here, while Tuesdays are relatively quieter. This restaurant is highly regarded for its exceptional pasta and delectable desserts. However, it's worth noting that pizza cannot be ordered in the afternoon, which may disappoint some patrons.
Because of coronavirus, it has been two years since our last visit, but the food and the service was as excellent as always. As a celiac, finding food in Italy is not always easy, but here it is! All four of us left full and very happy. The service was excellent too. 5 stars all the way and grazie.
sinead phibbs — Google review
Very cool place. They have outstanding pasta and excellent desserts. Unfortunately, you cannot order pizza in the afternoon, which was a major disappointment. Fortunately, the seafood risotto I had instead combined with the excellent tiramisu made up for it. The place looked very nice on the inside, and has very nice decor, featuring a large amount of sheep. The prices are a bit high, but tolerable. I hear the beer was good also.

The food and service was excellent the views were amazing. The prefix menu took the guess work out of ordering. We ordered a bottle of wine and the food just kept on coming, our waiter explained each dish and answered all our questions. It was a truly fantastic experience, and a great value for the amount of fresh seafood we had!
Gregory Zaczkiewicz — Google review
Visited this restaurant with my wife, daughter, son-in-law and 14 month old granddaughter in mid September 2015. Staying at Loggia Ambling, reservations were made with restaurant. As a fish and seafood lover, this was the most amazing experience and best fish and seafood meal we ever had. Fresh caught daily. We opted for two full course and two primo only courses and there was plenty to enjoy. Includes wine, water, and dessert. It got to the point that we had to question how much more food was coming as it was non stop presentations of dishes with waiter describing each dish as delivered to the table. Total was 170 euros. Amazing for the quantity, quality and courteous professional service! Definitely will return one day!

Lovely place with an astonishing panorama of the sea, that can be admired from the terrace that elevates itself almost above the salted water. Their typical dish "Brodetto alla Vastese" is pure joy for people who appreciate fish based cuisine. The personnel is as lovely, kind, and welcoming as it can be. Do not get fooled by the look of the front of the Restaurant that hosts a bar, it hides a well furnished dining hall on the back, sided by the amazing terrace I mentioned before.
Lorenzo Aulisa — Google review
We have been here three times now as we travel constantly between the North and Puglia. We have had two good experiences and one bad. The last one, today was very disappointing. We had booked a table on the terrace and the famous Brodetto, which we ate there before. It arrived piping hot and included 2 mussels on top, one of which had not opened. Please chef, if you are only offering two mussels, make sure they have both opened! It took our waiter a long time to ask if we wanted to add pasta. We said yes - the pasta took half an hour to arrive, by which time the Brodetto was stone cold. The service was perfunctory as a large party had arrived. We were ignored, no question of dessert or coffee. We left feeling disatisfied! Normally the food is good. Would we return? Not on a Friday lunchtime!
Helen Lanzer — Google review
The food and service was excellent! We had the fish soup which I agree is the best in Vasco. Our waiter spoke perfect English and explained every course in detail, recommend an excellent wine to complement our meal. The views of the harbour are excellent. I recommend you call for reservations we didn't but had to wait for a table they were kind enough to accommodate us!

Nice view, good starter, good first plate. Long waiting time between dishes, not acceptable. Horrible second plate, mixed grilled fish, gigliata di pesce. It came after almost 2 hours after entering Restaurant, approximate 45 minutes after first plate. Fish absolutely dry, like leather. Not recommendable.

Great dishes on the lunch menu. The seafood was very fresh and cooked deliciously. Excellent. We also appreciated the professionalism of the wait staff- always ready to clear empty plates, asked if we wanted refills throughout the meal, and were friendly and polite. A nice trattoria. We’ll return

Inattentive and rude service. One of our meals came out 15 mins before the other meaning we couldn’t eat together. No one came to check on our table at any point and staff quick to walk away before we were able to ask for another drink or dessert menu…Overall a very poor and bad experience.

Lovely restaurant! We were seated quickly and served a bowl of fresh bread. We had the special 2 course meal. The starter was a lovely plate of prosciutto and mozzarella. We waited a little while for the main, which was equally as good, a bowl of seafood tagliatelle with shrimp and octopus. The staff were highly accommodating and very efficient.
