Very picturesque greenhouses and lovely outdoor gardens. Can only recommend going mornings on the week before big crowds!

It is a good park, but not worth getting here just for the sake of travel. It is a very special place for my friend tho, because this park is their first date only by themselves. maybe they would like to give the 5 star by themselves

Beautiful Garden. Unfortunately some of the plants are dying probably because of the Hitze. And was surprised when we had Spaziergang, there were two guys sitting on the bench enjoying their weeds. They hide it everytime people pass them by but the smells cannot escape noses.

Don't expect an immaculate botanic garden swarming with attentive gardeners. There is a loose, unkempt feel to this garden verging on the abandoned. However it has an undeniable charm and beauty with some excellent specimens and lovely roses.

The Germans have a word for this "Klein aber Fein", which might translate to be small but fine. Enjoy a walk through the garden seeing all the species of plants and all labelled too, underneath the Japanese maple go down to the pond before entering the tunnel that takes one to the greenhouses...and from there to the cafe Botanik..enjoy!

Beautiful Botanical Garden with several entrances/exits, a café and absolutely free of charge. I particularly loved their cacti greenhouse. Due to the quality of the terrain it's not very wheelchair friendly.

Great free botanical garden to walk around, many indoor greenhouses with an amazing variety of plants. Comfortable benches throughout for anyone with mobility problems. Takes around 45 min to walk around and see everything, might have missed one or two greenhouses. A really great activity to do with a coffee any sunny day.

A beautiful city with a great multicultural variety, a beautiful mix of nationalities living harmoniously. Music and art of all kinds, it is very pleasant to spend an evening in the old and beautiful center. We stayed overnight at Astoria Hotel clean and pleasant.

Gänseliesel, also referred to as "Goose Girl," is a historical fountain in Göttingen notable for the PhD graduates at the University of Göttingen who are required, as part of an old tradition in Göttingen, to go and kiss her as a token of their love on the day of graduation. Despite the fact that it was built in 1901, it has undergone minor restorations. Every time I visit the city center, I love to walk by this fountain.

A must watch spot that stands out in the city centre. A favourite spot for the budding doctoral candidates!

History says the most kissed girl in the world. You can't believe how much infatuation lies on Goosegirl's face without having a look.

Very interesting. A lot of interesting and cool things to do around the city center. Especially the "Weinachtsmarkt" or Christmas Market during December. Year round there are also occasional events and occasions to see or do things there. It's a small town and has a small City charm instead of a big commercial area with lots of high end shops. Very nice place to see and visit.

Lots of lovely Saunas and cold water showers, a great garden and a natural pool. The restaurant closes before Saunas and lets down hungry and dehydrated late customers. The only option is to drink from the showers because there aren't any other options.

Beautiful and tasteful sauna komplex with lots of different temperature sauna sections in a large garden. I've enjoyed 4 relaxing hours. Special thanks to the lovely Greek Lady in Café, for amazing ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟΣ ΚΑΦΕΣ :)

The place doesn't have much to do and the pools are pretty cold, only 2 small jacuzzi that have some warmth but they always full.

Perfect place for a dip in Göttingen. With the student discount, from 20:00-21:30, one can visit for just 2.20 euros!!!

I go swimming there with friends from time to time. Very satisfied with the pool and sauna.

We were there for six hours with the kids, and they enjoyed themselves very much. The place is also enjoyable for adults with two fun slides and a heatet outdoor area.

They have everything the heart desires when it comes to swimming pools, saunas, water slides and more! The prices are acceptable but may be too steep for some people. On the weekend it’s quite crowded. All in all I would still highly recommend it!

I had a great time with my friend in both the indoor and outdoor pools and the sauna. The staffs are also friendly. Definitely a good place I will be visiting often to hang out with my friends. And there was discount for students too 😉

I took the swimming course and it's worth it! The price is cheap and the instructors are so good. They know English as well!

An oasis amid metropolis. Saint John of Goettingen, the main church of Protestant denomination, is a Gothic building from the thirteenth century. The market church used to harbor a chamber for the bell ringer in its tower. The inner hall is due to be renovated for the time to come. A remarkable monument 💛

The ambience was great, and it is always crowded so I would reccomend making a reservation. They have different kinds of pastas and pizzas. They have a one or two vegetarian options in each category although they were more than happy to make some of the other pastas with meat into vegetarian on request. I would reccomend to visit once the price and portions were appropriate. Personally, the mushroom pizza was my favourite compared to the pasta.

Absolutely delicious food! The atmosphere of this restaurant is perfect. It’s cozy inside, and the winter garden area is very cute.

I've been here too many times and I've never been disappointed, I'm actually almost always positively surprised! Just keep in mind that they may be full and you'd rather have a reservation than hope you'll be squeezed in.

Good Italien food, and nice service. From the outside it does not look like much, but go in and see the little nice garten where you can sit and enjoy a bit of Italien. The locals are eating here as well.

Went at 21:40 for a late dinner, was served quickly a very tasty pizza. The tiramisu was the only dessert left and was good too. English was well spoken.

I arrived at 9:50pm with a hungry group of ten persons from overseas (México). The young manager (super german) refused to give us a table although the restaurant was still lively and 75% full. Google maps mentioned open until 0:00. But surprisingly he accepted a take away order for my 9 guests and he wanted literally made us eat in the street... What a strange experience. No clue about Italian hospitality and the bad image of German cuisine. At the end the great Italian chief worked overtime and realized a turnover of 250€ delivering great food... And imagine we were allowed to eat at the table from the brown take away bags. Qué pendejo ! He should work in Catanzaro south Italia to learn his business.

Went in because it smelled nice a couple of hours before opening. Boy, how this restaurant did not disappoint. The green pepper steak and the Mandus Primitivo wine were so good, they actually made me cry. I go to a lot of Italians, some best rated in Europe and this was really exceptionally good. The kids had oven gnocchi and spaghetti carbonara. We had tiramisu all three of us and I was tempted to try the homemade pannacotta after my tiramisu had I not eaten a huge steak with roasted potatoes, brocoli for 2 and a salad on the side. The decor is warm and authentic too and the (small) wine selection is simply one of the best I have ever seen in a restaurant without pretentiousness. What a surprise in Göttingen.

I was there with my family, dishes are definitely yummi. You can take a seat either inside or outside (in garden). You have many choices for Italian specialities, but i decided to make my choice with grilled for instance lammkoteletten and 👍👍👍. Really nice one.

We were quite a large group with last minute booking and still got served very fast. Super friendly staff. Took a Chicken biryani, a Butter Chicken, delicious pakoras and nans, sweet lassie. Nice design of the restaurant and dishes!

Good curry, I find they are a bit bland had one supposed to have garlic and ginger and asked for spicy.. Could not taste any ginger and barely any garlic. Was not spicy. Still probably one of the best quality dishes I have had in gottingen.

Staff advised us well when it came to (small) kids friendly options. We are no experts in Indian food but everyone left the place happy, tried something new and well fed thanks to adapted portions.

You can feel the food is made with love. We have ordered the chicken tikka masala and the chicken tandoori gerichte. Personally i preferred the tikka masala as it was rich with flavors and the chicken was moist and lean. The naan is to die for. If you enjoy the indian spices then you definitely are in the right place. The price for the portion size serving is very reasonable.

Very dull atmosphere. The food was not so good and very chewy. The nan were not cooked properly. Raita quantity was close to some 100-150 ml. The server was not friendly and was kinda rude.

It's not the first time I have been here, but today the food was spectacular (an adjective I never use in Göttingen!!). The pakora was absolutely delicious and the mixed tandoori was a poetry. The meat, also the Lamb that often is hard, was soft and juicy. The difference of spices was evident, between the three choices, not only for the colour but also for the taste. The rice was perfectly prepared and even the bread - of which I am not a fan - was absolutely impeccable.

If you are craving a schnitzel, this is the place to go. We also enjoyed the lamb cutlet which was cooked to perfection!

Great variety of delicious Schnitzel. You can get typical German meat dishes and freshly made and huge Schnitzel in all kinds of ways. The Schnitzel were quite large and filling for a fair price. You could see them being prepared freshly in the kitchen. In the evening it was quite full. So make sure to get a reservation if you plan to go. The service is quite quick and checks on you often to see if you have any wishes.

Holy moly, value for money. There is an option for “XXL Schnitzel” on the menu and I do not want to know how big that would be. The “normal” ones are already huge! Lovely atmosphere in an old historic building. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a very popular restaurant in Göttingen, their schnitzel portions sizes were hugee and more than enough for one person. They have only one or 2 vegetarian options. I wish they would have more options for vegetarians. But I would definitely reccomend this place.

One of those old school places that has stood the test of time. The building and the interior has an unbeatable old time charm. Food is absolutely delicious, with schnitzel being the obvious choice. Traditional German restaurant with a very nice tavern atmosphere. Service was fast and efficient. We were in a group of 5 people. Most had the Schnitzel, which was very tasty. I had a Cordon Bleu and it was awesome. The meals are huge and with a very good price. Not much options for vegetarians though. It was possible to pay with card. I would come back again, therefore I recommend it.

Authentic German food with great portion size and even better taste. The place feels amazingly comfy and their staff is very friendly and congenial. If you want to go there on Friday evening or on weekends then I recommend to reserve your table beforehand as the place is very busy during these days. I would recommend their Spare ribs anyday. The salad served alongside with the food is fantastic as well. They even accept payment by cards which is quiet nice.

We as a group of teo. Both of us were very hungry. My colleague took the schnitzel, and I took the haxe with pickled cabbage and braised potatoes. Both of us were very happy with our dishes.

True to its name, Kartoffelhaus serves a lot of tasty treats with potatoes as the star of the show, featuring even potato beer for those feeling adventurous. Some dishes can get a bit much though, like the potato burger which has potato fritters for patties and fries on the side, which can overwhelm you with the oily heaviness. That said, the service is top class, with servers who are patient with you and ensure that you have a good time. Would definitely return again to try more of their offerings.

What an extensive menu! So many variations, tastes, ethnic foods...most involving potato 🥔 😋 You really could bring anyone here and know that there would be something for everyone's taste!! This is a HUGE restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. 🪑 The serves here are very big indeed! So it matches the cost alright :) 💶 I had the veggie burger 🍔 which was shredded potato for the bun. Very cool - bit oily tho. Nice taste and fresh veggies. My friends had the asparagus turkey pasta and schnitzel. They were happy with their choices :) The tap water costs 2€ which is not what I'm used to paying. (it's free where I'm from!) Staff were friendly and the food came out in good time. 👍

😬 Cannot really rate the food as after 20 minutes of waiting no one came to take our order. However, from the inside it looks like a really sad place; a restaurant where you go with your elderly church choir friends on a bus holiday.

You need to have a German appetite to enjoy the food here.

The restaurant had a comfortable atmosphere, the workers were friendly and the food was good. The breads were really fresh, the pancakes and eggs tasted quite good and the variate of food was good. Just the mini sausages that didn't taste that good. Apart from this, all the rest good plus points. The bathroom was really clean. Even on the week they only open at 9:30, we came from far away and wanted to have a nice breakfast, but had to wait for it to be open. For the price, we think it is worth it.

What a great place. An extensive menu with many great choises. We had the baked potato with cheese and soinach which was great, and the potato burger. The meat in the burger was not great and reminded me about McDonald's meat, but other than that everything was perfect. The sweetest waitors helped us with entertainment (colors and papers) for our two children and were just the best. Almost not waiting time for the food.

The food was good....service was quite fast since we were 12 people. But vegan main dishes are all more than 13.5€

I was waiting to try the food for a while and finally it opened again. First, this is an expensive place. The portion size is very small. You can get the same taste in any other Indian restaurant. The attendant speaks English which is really nice thing. We have had a mix platter with 4 veg and 1 nonveg dish. The national beef dish was really nice and all the veg options were also good. I was expecting that we will get additional free breads with the platter. However, you have to pay 1 euro for another bread. The rice was really good. The service is very slow and food was not hot.

I went to this restaurant because of the many vegan options they offer. It was definitely a good choice. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. Unfortunately they didn't have any vegan dessert but they offered a mango alcoholfree shot which was very good. I would only suggest to have a vegan option also for the dessert.

Very cozy and homey feel to it. The food was delicious and something unusual for the area. You'll get some basic(s) like thin bread, rice, etc and a selection of different sauces. They offer a variety of flavors, none of which I disliked. The best part was when they started to roast some coffee by the fire. Best smell ever.

The food was amazing and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy and pleasant. The staff were super friendly and they also gave short interesting snippets of information about the east African culture behind the food! They have good vegetarian and vegan options, I especially enjoyedthe vegan platter. I would definitely visit again and would recommend others to visit for some authentic east African food! :)

The vegetarian shared platter tasted good and was definitely plenty of food. The service was great. Only surprise at the end was that we couldn’t pay with Visa nor Mastercard. So be prepared to bring cash or some german EC (?) card.

One of the best places to enjoy East African cuisine if you have never tried it before. Their banana beer is worth trying, the way they serve is classic. You will leave feeling happy 😊
