The history at the 1302 museum is historically incorrect. For example, the input of the County of Namur in the battle is completely erased because it does not fit the "Flemish" nationalistic narrative that the battle was mainly Flemish against "the French". It wasn't, it was about economics. If you want to learn the real history of the Count of Flanders, go to the museums in Bruges of Ghent. As there are no Flemish nationalists there in power, the local history is still available in its purest form without any political agenda.

Cool towers either side of cobbled bridge besides the river. Steps and seating either side of river and lots of restaurants look like will be open in the evenings. We watched a wedding take place just beside the towers looks like it happens fairly regularly

it's just beautiful there specially when it's sunny and you get a nice view of the canal, they are also well kept historical buildings in pristine conditions. well worth visit if you pass by Kortrijk

It's all about the nature, it's beautiful but nothing much other then photo clicks. I went in February month and boating was not there.

Wonderful medieval towers in great condition. Very calm river and a nice laid back public realms to enjoy the sight.

Flax doesn’t sound that interesting, but on a cold day in January we thought it could be a good way to keep warm. It was in fact one of the most interesting and well thought out museums I’ve been too and I learnt a great deal. The signs are in several languages, there are interactive screens, and the flow from ground floor (touch, feel, understand the product and how it’s used), first floor history and top floor treasures (examples), is very good indeed. You could spend many hours here and it’s great for kids as well as adults.

Great museum to learn about the importance of Flax - a must if you are in Kortrijk or its surroundings and have some time left ...

Well This was nice (in spite of the small children screaming like the place was on fire) . Learnt a lot around the production of linen ( and about the lingerie of catholic priests - first photo)

Wasn’t expecting much of a flax museum to be honest, but the museum provides a surprisingly interesting look at the rise and fall of the flax industry in the “Texas of Flanders”. You could read everything in English as well as Dutch and French.

Not your average read-a-lot museum. Upon entering you get to touch, feel and smell everything which is linnen-related and only afterwards enter into the more convential part of the museum. They really get you interested into what it’s all about and how it shaped flemish economy. A must.

Very interesting and very entertaining. Lots to learn and see. Certainly take the time to listen to the old school flax farmers discussing memories of better times. The vault showcases beautiful damast, really must see. Bar next to it is also cosy. Just go!

In this busy student city, the market place offers a peaceful place to enjoy a coffee or meal in one of the many taverns. Statues, art, children's playground, lots of nice shops, something for everyone to enjoy

You have just about everything around there. Stores, restaurants, bars, burger shops, hemp shop, hotels, ATMs, banks, sight seeing locations... Most times a very busy place. It's a good place to go relax outside in the sun at one of the local bars/taverns/restaurants.

I believe this is St Martins Church adjacent to the Grote Market. Kortrijk is quite a pleasant place and easy to walk around. There is a lot of interesting architecture to admire in the area of the Grote Market and lots of places to eat and snack and watch the world go by. I believe that the area has frequent antiques markets outdoors also. The square also hosts live music and performances. Worth checking beforehand whats on.

I've stayed here a few times and it was OK. Sometimes difficult to get someone on the front desk. Room was moderately come, but I always ended up with a single bed. I also had a lot of issues with mosquitoes in my room.

This was indeed a treat - Meze Style. The decor really took us back to the Middle East - outside under a tent. We were told it was a summer thing. Full course and everything was tingling the palette. Must visit if in the area. The cauliflower (Flower Power) was full of flavors. Not to say that the rest was not but for me outstanding.

Great food, amazing flavours. But the menu is 40 pp and we were a party of 5 and we didn't think we really had enough food for our money. We looked around and people with a party of 2 had the same portions as we did with 5. They should double the portions so everyone can it a good amount of those beautiful dishes !

Fantastic menu, food was lovely and service was upbeat and genuine. Very vegetarian friendly. Just be aware: the mezze portions are Large! Order 1 by one and enjoy every bite! We went on a tuesday night without reservation, had to take a bar sear which was fine- but i guess reservations are recommended

Great tasting food. Good friendly service. We ordered cold and hot Meze with desserts for a large group. Cocktails and bottled drinks all night. The Meze was great. Top pick - Muhamara. This was lovely packed with flavours of subtle spice, tomato and luxurious walnut. Chicken Sambousek was melt in the mouth cooked. The dip had depth of heat. Flower power is cauliflower in a spicy coating. This was baked and lovely. Desserts were divine. The Milad pistachio was super smooth and packed full of flavour. The pastry churro de orange was also great. For a meal out, the menu could offer more. Limited in mains option.

Absolutely love the place ! Great atmosphere, great music and exquisite cocktails. It's a really good choice to go out on a Saturday night to have fun surrounded by cool people.

Artistically very nice inside and the cocktails are good.. but it does cater for select individuals and because of that the staff are very selective on who gets served and when.. it would get a 4, but to wait half hour for a drink in a joint that size is not good.

Great restaurant. Very friendly service and an innovative menu. Good wines paired to the food. There was a little dip in service between the mussels and the chicken - a bit long waiting time - but during the rest of dinner everything did run smoothly . Be prepared to sorbs 3 enjoyable hours if you go for the large menu

Very good meal, the chef has a firm grip on balancing sourness to elevate the dishes. Notable on 02 July 20 were the shrimp with courgette and buttermilk (1), open escargot ravioli with kafir lemon (2) and the tomatoes (3). A tad pricey at 100+€/head.

Good service, and all dishes, including the amuse-bouche and cookies for the coffee, were excellent. The weather wasn't warm or dry enough to sit outside and enjoy the view of the Broeltoerens but the industrial design interior was a nice alternative. There was also a good-sized room upstairs with a bar which would make a lovely event venue. Definitely worth a visit to Kortrijk in search of a good meal.

We experienced this delicious restaurant with our team. It is one of the top 3 places in Kortrijk. If you go now, you can still enjoy it at affordable prices. For sure this place will soon receive a well earned first star. On top of this it is located at the renovated banks of the Leie river.

The food was delicious, the location is great. However, even though the selection on the menu is small, the wait between dishes is ridiculously long. For a 3 course meal we arrived at 7 pm and left at 10:30 pm.

As you enter the venue, you notice the understated and tasteful interior. The friendly staff greet you and usher you to your table. The drink list is imaginative and the menu enticing. This is Belgian fine dining at its best. I could appreciate all the details, from the cloak closet to the chairs. Dining here is envisaged as a fluid and exhilarating experience. The service is well-paced and attentive without ever being intrusive. The food is thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. The coquilles with fresh salad was sublime. My pheasant was succulent and flavorful. The dessert was a perfect ending to this culinary triumph, striking that rare balance between tradition and innovation. I enjoyed my wine and digestif, because they complemented the food so well. Overall a great experience that leaves you crave for more. Highly recommended!

Cute place to grab a coffee and a quick meal. You can sit down and then order at the bar, or you can order to go. Much stronger lunch selection than breakfast, although the bowls are very good too for whenever. I had the monkey madness bowl, which was very hearty and tasty. Outdoor seating overlooks the train station. Very trendy atmosphere,and they do speak English to an extent. Note that this was written by a tourist.

We ordered several dishes from here. The portions were decent the food tastes really good. The prices are ok if you compares it to the amount and the taste. Probably one of the best noodle bar I got food from. We tried to book a table but it was full. We will try to visit it another time to give a better review regarding the atmosphere.

My favourite ramen place in Belgium. I always get the vegetarian miso ramen with tofu and shiitake. It's incredibly flavorful, and the tofu is perfection. For dessert I definitely recommend the ice cream mochi, and their coffee is excellent in combo (oat milk is available!). Don't sleep on Lily's, there's no better place to get your noodle fix! Price is very reasonable as well, spent €30 for drinks, noodles, coffee, and dessert.
