Kortrijk 1302 is a museum that takes visitors back to the historic Battle of the Golden Spurs, which occurred on July 11, 1302. This significant event in Flemish history is brought to life through engaging displays and animations, offering insight into the Flemish identity and the Dutch-French debate. The museum provides a fascinating look at how a group of Flemish peasants managed to defeat a large army of French cavalry and elite against all odds.
A very immersive exposition. Well explained even for toddlers.
Mathias Silversmet — Google review
Go Flanders, haha! Very nice lady inside to guide you through what you’re seeing. The movie is well done. You can see effort and attention was put into the whole thing.
Filipe C. — Google review
Clean quite and very beautiful
M. Nehad Nader — Google review
The history at the 1302 museum is historically incorrect. For example, the input of the County of Namur in the battle is completely erased because it does not fit the "Flemish" nationalistic narrative that the battle was mainly Flemish against "the French". It wasn't, it was about economics. If you want to learn the real history of the Count of Flanders, go to the museums in Bruges of Ghent. As there are no Flemish nationalists there in power, the local history is still available in its purest form without any political agenda.
Glenn De Backer — Google review
Wonderfully unexpected piece of history shown in an engaging animation. Fully recommend

Broel Towers is a remarkable tourist destination located in Kortrijk, boasting well-maintained medieval forts made from limestone and sandstone on both sides of a 14th-century bridge. The towers are situated by a serene canal which offers an idyllic view to visitors, and the historical buildings are kept in pristine condition. The architecture is simply stunning with its impressive medieval towers standing tall and proud.
Nice place to visit if you’re in Kortrijk. Good spot for photos and to walk around
Rodrigo Fernandez — Google review
Cool towers either side of cobbled bridge besides the river. Steps and seating either side of river and lots of restaurants look like will be open in the evenings. We watched a wedding take place just beside the towers looks like it happens fairly regularly

In the charming city of Kortrijk, Belgium, visitors can explore a unique attraction known as TEXTURE - Flax & River Lys Museum. Housed in a historic 1902 flax factory, this museum offers an immersive experience that delves into the town's innovative role in the flax industry. The museum showcases the significance of flax and linen through interactive exhibits that allow visitors to touch, feel, and smell various linen-related items.
Good exhibition on the history of flax and linen weaving in Belgium. Collection is very well curated, display is amazing and the interactive/didactive information boards are nicely done. Definitely worth a visit!

Flax doesn’t sound that interesting, but on a cold day in January we thought it could be a good way to keep warm. It was in fact one of the most interesting and well thought out museums I’ve been too and I learnt a great deal. The signs are in several languages, there are interactive screens, and the flow from ground floor (touch, feel, understand the product and how it’s used), first floor history and top floor treasures (examples), is very good indeed. You could spend many hours here and it’s great for kids as well as adults.
Lesly Huxley — Google review
Great museum to learn about the importance of Flax - a must if you are in Kortrijk or its surroundings and have some time left ...
Patrick Merlevede — Google review
Well This was nice (in spite of the small children screaming like the place was on fire) . Learnt a lot around the production of linen ( and about the lingerie of catholic priests - first photo)
Hans Lind — Google review
This was a facinating find. I did not know about flax and how important it was and is. Great museum with multi language support.
David Stockford — Google review
Wasn’t expecting much of a flax museum to be honest, but the museum provides a surprisingly interesting look at the rise and fall of the flax industry in the “Texas of Flanders”. You could read everything in English as well as Dutch and French.
Robert Walmsley — Google review
Interesting museum. If you want to know more about textile and linen history in that region
viktorija viki — Google review
Not your average read-a-lot museum. Upon entering you get to touch, feel and smell everything which is linnen-related and only afterwards enter into the more convential part of the museum. They really get you interested into what it’s all about and how it shaped flemish economy. A must.
Monzi Sez — Google review
Very interesting and very entertaining. Lots to learn and see. Certainly take the time to listen to the old school flax farmers discussing memories of better times. The vault showcases beautiful damast, really must see. Bar next to it is also cosy. Just go!

Do you know why the Leie river has been so important for Kortrijk ? Because its flow connects the city thru its history around textile industry: One of Vlaanderen most important export products, #Courtrai flax ..and here in Texture Museum over Leie you can learn about this interesting fact ...and beyond with workshops and exhibits such "Textiel in Verzet"

The Belfry of Courtrai, a UNESCO World Heritage tourist attraction, is a remarkable landmark in the town center. This historic building is well-maintained and features beautiful architecture that dates back to medieval times. The surrounding buildings add to its grandeur, creating an impressive sight for visitors. Additionally, there are several bars and restaurants nearby where one can indulge in the local cuisine while taking in the sights.
You have just about everything around there. Stores, restaurants, bars, burger shops, hemp shop, hotels, ATMs, banks, sight seeing locations... Most times a very busy place. It's a good place to go relax outside in the sun at one of the local bars/taverns/restaurants.

I believe this is St Martins Church adjacent to the Grote Market. Kortrijk is quite a pleasant place and easy to walk around. There is a lot of interesting architecture to admire in the area of the Grote Market and lots of places to eat and snack and watch the world go by. I believe that the area has frequent antiques markets outdoors also. The square also hosts live music and performances. Worth checking beforehand whats on.

Nude Kortrijk is an exquisite bar managed by two youthful individuals, boasting a stunning interior and an extensive cocktail selection. Additionally, they offer lunch and dinner options, but the venue truly comes alive during the evening hours. This delightful establishment provides a Meze Style dining experience with flavors reminiscent of the Middle East. The atmosphere beautifully captures this essence with its tent-like outdoor seating arrangement, particularly popular in the summer season.
Good food. Good price. But above all really great service . Going the extra mile to make the customer happy. Thank you Louis

This was indeed a treat - Meze Style. The decor really took us back to the Middle East - outside under a tent. We were told it was a summer thing. Full course and everything was tingling the palette. Must visit if in the area. The cauliflower (Flower Power) was full of flavors. Not to say that the rest was not but for me outstanding.

Great food, amazing flavours. But the menu is 40 pp and we were a party of 5 and we didn't think we really had enough food for our money. We looked around and people with a party of 2 had the same portions as we did with 5. They should double the portions so everyone can it a good amount of those beautiful dishes !

Great tasting food. Good friendly service. We ordered cold and hot Meze with desserts for a large group. Cocktails and bottled drinks all night. The Meze was great. Top pick - Muhamara. This was lovely packed with flavours of subtle spice, tomato and luxurious walnut. Chicken Sambousek was melt in the mouth cooked. The dip had depth of heat. Flower power is cauliflower in a spicy coating. This was baked and lovely. Desserts were divine. The Milad pistachio was super smooth and packed full of flavour. The pastry churro de orange was also great. For a meal out, the menu could offer more. Limited in mains option.

Artistically very nice inside and the cocktails are good.. but it does cater for select individuals and because of that the staff are very selective on who gets served and when.. it would get a 4, but to wait half hour for a drink in a joint that size is not good.

Va et Vient is a fantastic eatery with superb customer service and an inventive selection of dishes. The amuse-bouche and coffee cookies were particularly impressive. Although the weather didn't allow for outdoor seating and enjoying the Broeltoerens view, the interior's industrial design proved to be a delightful alternative. Additionally, upstairs there is a spacious room with a bar that would serve as an excellent venue for events.
Wonderful food and excellent service by a young team. Just top. We went for lunch and will certainly be coming back!

Great restaurant. Very friendly service and an innovative menu. Good wines paired to the food. There was a little dip in service between the mussels and the chicken - a bit long waiting time - but during the rest of dinner everything did run smoothly . Very good meal, the chef has a firm grip on balancing sourness to elevate the dishes. Notable on 02 July 20 were the shrimp with courgette and buttermilk (1), open escargot ravioli with kafir lemon (2) and the tomatoes (3). A tad pricey at 100+€/head.

As you enter the venue, you notice the understated and tasteful interior. The friendly staff greet you and usher you to your table. The drink list is imaginative and the menu enticing. This is Belgian fine dining at its best. I could appreciate all the details, from the cloak closet to the chairs. Dining here is envisaged as a fluid and exhilarating experience. The service is well-paced and attentive without ever being intrusive. The food is thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. The coquilles with fresh salad was sublime. My pheasant was succulent and flavorful. The dessert was a perfect ending to this culinary triumph, striking that rare balance between tradition and innovation. The owner, Lily, who has Vietnamese roots and has travelled extensively in Japan and South-Korea, decided to open this establishment. One must-try dish is the vegetarian miso ramen which consists of tofu and shiitake mushrooms.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lily's Noodle House, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was captivated by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's charming decor and attentive staff immediately set the stage for what would become an extraordinary culinary journey. Let's start with the star of the show: the food. Lily's Noodle House exceeded my expectations in every way. The menu offers an extensive selection of Asian-inspired dishes, each prepared with utmost care and attention to detail. Whether you're a fan of traditional Asian cuisine or seeking a modern twist, this place has something to satisfy every palate. I started my meal with the Crispy Spring Rolls, and they were a revelation. The delicate, golden-brown exterior gave way to a burst of vibrant flavors within, accompanied by a tangy dipping sauce that elevated the experience. The attention to texture and taste was evident in every bite. For the main course, I opted for the Shoyu ramen, and they were nothing short of exceptional. The noodles were perfectly cooked, retaining just the right amount of bite, while the assortment of vegetables and succulent pieces of meat added depth and richness to the dish. The balance of flavors was impeccable, leaving me longing for more. The service at Lily's Noodle House deserves special mention.
