Children's museum
Museums
The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction is a family-friendly attraction that takes visitors on an interactive journey through some of the world's most beloved stories written by British author Beatrix Potter. The exhibit includes a recreation of the English countryside complete with sights, sounds and smells from the tales.
Really good museum. Love the displays and story. The only thing I would say even though it is wheelchair accessible, in places it is very tight and dark. Furthermore, the attraction exit is especially tight and the slope outside the entrance is very steep just be careful.
Nick Wisdom — Google review
What a magical place. At the entrance I didn't expect much but once inside I was surprised. It was full of beauty and imagination magic. The scenes are put together well and lots of information around the trail. There is a children's activity booklet that is free and worth doing. Lots of questions and quizzes to help keep the children engaged. My only improvement would be the attraction could do with being in a bigger setting as was only small and compact.
Ann M — Google review
If you grew up with Beatrix Potter books & stories then you would find this place interesting. My Mrs & 7yo daughter loved it, I was bored. Being half term we expected it to be busy, queued for 45 minutes. I recommend that you get there early as the nearby car park was practically full by 10:40. A bit claustrophobic in places. Spent about an hour there , personally I would rather have saved my £9 . Staff were good & friendly. Seafarers chip shop opposite does nice fish & chips. You can’t buy tickets in advance neither

Absolutely mesmerizing. A more immersive adventure through a whimsical and enchanting storybook world it would be hard to find, even at fancy expensive Disney amusement parks. If you have any appreciation for the idyllic and ethereal rural landscapes of bygone days, and you probably do if you're in the Lake District, come here. It is one of the most imaginative and whimsical places I have seen lately, playful without being extravagant or gaudy. The sensory details here are nothing short of remarkable: frogs on spinning lily pads, small and cozy houses among the lakes and burbling streams, even a canopy of russet autumn leaves accompanied by chattering squirrels. Walking through this place feels like being transported back to the unadorned, winsome curiosity and sincerity of old folklore and fable.

We had a great visit a few weeks ago. A place of wonder and imagination, bringing back memories of the stories as a child... We highly recommend going and exploring The World of Beatrix Potter. No complaints... We got some good tips for plants from the friendly gardener too!
Edward James Turrall — Google review
A wonderful place to indulge yourself in the classic Petter Rabbit and other lovely stories by Beatrix Potter The attraction begins with a short film introducing the life of Beatrix Potter and her connections with the Lake District, followed by the vivid characters depicted in her stories. These story settings are relatively in a small scale but delicate. The electronic panels next to the sets help visitors explore more about the character. However, some are broken and not yet repaired for use.
Hao-Ting Chuang — Google review
Fantastic experience with our family and three year old grandson. He was transfixed by all the displays and loved every single minute of our visit. We also had tickets to Peter Rabbit’s birthday party in the theatre which was also very, very, very enjoyable. The cast were fantastic and engaged with all the children in the audience. We also had lunch in the cafe which was fab too.
Steve Booth — Google review
This attraction in the Lake District celebrates everything about Beatrix Potter – the 20th century English author and illustrator who is best known for her imaginative children’s books, the most famous of all being The Tale of Peter Rabbit. She wrote 23 books in total. Well worth a visit with the family or even solo. Friendly staff and well priced gifts. Lovely garden too!
Jo Webber — Google review
Adults will gain as much pleasure from visiting here as children will. My husband and I spent almost 2 hours walking through the amazing scenery and underground world of these animals. Some families were moving through more quickly but we were admiring all the attention to tiny detail eg a teeny blanket for a life size mouse had been hand stitched! Half way round you walk through the small, but utterly charming, outdoor garden of Mr McGregor before continuing your journey. Absolutely delightful. The cafe was very good - cheese scone & home made soup, tea, coffee & lemon drizzle cake, all made by the cook. We thought it was good value for money and a wonderful place to visit.
Arlene Harris — Google review
Great few hours of fun! Learned a lot about the world of Beatrix Potter that I never knew. Staff were very friendly and nice. Only took a star off as 2 interactive screens were broken. Otherwise great attraction especially with toddler aged kids.
Kevin McAuley — Google review
We really enjoyed it here! It is laid out really well. The characters are dotted all over the place and some are hidden away that you have to spot. The garden area is very pretty and well maintained. Although it is quite small lots of effort is put into making it look fantastic. We would definitely recommend!
Karl Venus — Google review
Such a lovely little experience! I wasn’t really sure what it included but was so surprised by the level of detail and effort! You first watch a short film about Beatrix Potter before taking a walk through essentially the world she created! It was absolutely stunning and very interesting! I also found the gift shop to be very well priced! Highly recommend for anyone who is Beatrix Potter fan, young or older 😊
Gem Leanne — Google review
Went when I was a child over 10 years ago, but it still carries the same charm and whimsy it did then! Beautiful soundtrack as you walk round, interactive screens that compliment the models and props nicely, as well as an adorable garden (it was also nicely air conditioned).
Shannon Burnside — Google review
As an adult without I absolutely enjoyed visiting this attraction. Basically it’s just a walkthrough with scenes inspired by Beatrix Potter books. It is very well made and immersive with sounds and smells. It’s not for everyone I guess but I really loved it. I was just a bit confused by why there was a Peter Rabbit character taking pictures with people outside the attraction but the staff told me you had to pay extra money or something. It was a bit awkward but other than that this attraction is really amazing and magical.
Melanie Mengüs — Google review
We had our lunch at cafe in the shop. The highlight was definitely Afternoon Tea. The teapot looked decent too. I’d suggest Picnic Basket better coming with a basket 🧺
Teki Chan — Google review
I love it here! I went for the first time when I was really small but visited again as an adult with my best friend. Gorgeous displays and a cosy atmosphere, and when we went you could take home radish seeds to plant. Very cute and a nice gift shop.
Jess — Google review
This is a wonderful place! Full of excitement and fun for people of all ages. I would highly recommend popping in to see the story of Beatrix Potter if you are nearby and looking for an hour or so of fun. There is a cafe and plenty of toilet facilities. The place caters to all walking abilities and those otherwise bound to other mobility devices. Don't forget to look at the cute badger! Although you can't buy any badger memorabilia......
FlapJack_Matt — Google review
I thought that it had a decent amount of Peter Rabbit models including Mr McGregor's garden and greenhouse. They also included a kids activity book that my daughter was very interested in. I think overall it is a great place to bring your kids for some fun.
Mark Caruso — Google review
Very good as shows parts of her life and her superb books. Great time with my friend's family.
Dark Rose — Google review
I'll be honest I've only been slightly exposed to the stories (and the films) and didn't quite know what to expect from 'the attraction'. What a delight. Life size models of the characters bringing the Potter world to life (except they don't move). You can't help but admire the effort gone into each one. Plenty of details at youngster height to entertain also.

Aquarium
Nature & Parks
The Lakes Aquarium is a massive and popular attraction located in the heart of Windermere with a range of wildlife from all over the world. This amazing aquarium has tons to offer visitors, including tanks at different levels, an underwater otter tunnel, and personal favourites such as leaf cutter ants and stingrays. With so much to see and do, it's great for all ages.
Lovely Aquarium to visit. We came of our boat cruise went for stream train ride and than stopped by Aquarium before heading back on the boat. My daughter enjoyed watching the fishes! She choose some nice sovieners from the gift shop. It's a shame the bracelets for the month of May were sold out, I would have really liked to get one for her birthday month! Can I order online or can can post it to me when back it stock ( of course I'll pay you!)
Aisha Ahmed — Google review
Visited while on holiday. Admitted the aquarium isn't large bur for the admission price it's reasonable. Plenty to look at, learn about and the otter talk and feed was brilliant. We spent about an hour and half in it as our autistic son loves aquariums. Highly recommend.
Julianne Dunn — Google review
The lakeside aquarium is a small aquarium. It probably takes around 30-40 mins to visit. So it’s perfect an escape on a wet day. Small kids will love it. If you book the day before it’s much cheaper. Try to avoid peak times if you want to take your time . (11-2pm). Parking is £2.50 too but don’t forget to take change.
Joy — Google review
Great place to visit. Not huge but still plenty to look at. Accessible for disabled people like myself. The toilets are not inside the Aquarium but on the platform where the train goes from. Would be good to have more signage on the trackside to direct you to the Disabled toilet as their is only signage on the lake side at least that's all I could see. So the disabled toilet is along from the gents at the very end of the building on the lake side. Reasonably priced.
Jane Harrison — Google review
Quite pricey but a fun morning had by all. Pay and display parking right outside but get there earlier in the morning as the car park filled up quickly. The aquarium is right next to the steam train station. No toilets inside but there is on the station. A varied collection of fresh water sea life with some surprises along the way. Highly recommended!
Emma C — Google review
Nice aquarium. All the tanks/habitats are nicely done. It's not the biggest aquarium but is very family friendly and reasonablely priced with a good discount if you purchase your ticket online in advance. My three children really enjoyed their time here. All the staff are very friendly, approachable and helpful.
Chris Scott — Google review
During my visit to Lakeside, I decided to pop into the Lakes Aquarium, and it turned out to be a truly enriching experience. The staff members were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain various exhibits in detail. The educational resources available at the aquarium made for an engaging visit, with ample information on aquatic creatures and environmental conservation initiatives.
David Mitchell — Google review
Great value for money. It's a nice walk around. Seeing the ants was nice. A small tunnel but great for kids. It's not such a long walk round. About 20 minutes but it's enough and good value. Parking is not free. You can use your card at the train ticket office to pay for parking
Jason Bo — Google review
Had an amazing experience at the Lakeside Aquarium. It is located near the ferry pier and the steam station. There’s a small cafe/restaurant right in front of the aquarium. The aquarium is well kept and is divided into sections such that each section houses creatures from a particular region. So by the end of it you have completed an aquatic world tour. It has 2 floors to be explored and there’s also a tunnel which is “a recreated journey below Lake Windermere” and has an amazing range of creatures. There are a variety of creatures - local fishes, piranha, ducks, ants etc. There are interesting mammals like otters, mice and frogs too. I was particularly impressed by the star fish and tortoises. There’s also a shop at the end of the tour with souvenirs, jewellery and toys. A great place to visit for both children and adults. Definitely recommend.
Tejal Paliya — Google review
Lovely little Aquarium, staff were very friendly, great for families, not super expensive either. There was plenty of parking and the gift shop had a good variety of products. Would definitely recommend if your in the area or passing by.

A small but very interesting visit for the kids. Tickets are cheaper bought online the day prior. We visited on a combo ticket with the Haverthwaite railway, which made a saving on the entrance fee. Can also be visited by boat from Ambleside. No toilets on the premises, but they are nearby on the platform by the cafe.
John Ross — Google review
Took my little one for his first birthday, he loved it.!!! We all did. It's fantastic. We went around a few times. And you can take a pram or wheelchair round l. Staff are lovely 🤩 Only downside it isn't related to them however is parking is either 2h for £4 or £5 for 10h ! So I'd recommend maybe doing the other stuff as well.
Kenya — Google review
Kids enjoyed running around and looking at the varied collection of animals. The worker ants section was a highlight. It's well priced really £20 for a family of 4 ticket (buy the day before online to get tickets cheaper) so was great for a wet morning. Shame the train next door was closed for the season or that would have been a good pairing.
Gareth Hughes — Google review
Really interesting place, I absolutely loved the ants and reptiles! Really stood out from other aquariums. As always with these places it doesn't take that long to go around. But I lover that it connects to the steam station and has a beautiful dock.
Kathy Turner-Hart — Google review
Brilliant small but lots to see worth the admission price 5*

Very fun. Particularly enjoyed the ambient music. The wall paintings also excellent. Gift shop contains some really excellent oddities. Immersive fish experience.
H Stone — Google review
Small aquarium on Lake Windermere. I'd say it would take the average family 30 mins to tour round it. I really liked the detail in the decor of the place. There was a discounted rate when we visited, as there was building work been carried out. Some of the animals had been rehomed elsewhere temporarily. The ant colony was fascinating. We all really enjoyed going through the tunnel under the marine life.
Michael Hall — Google review
Visited here about 18 years ago, and it's definitely not as good now. To begin with, the lady on the front desk was unenthusiastic and not very welcoming. To be fair, the staff in the gift shop were very friendly, although the shop itself was filled with plastic novelty rubbish. As a rule, I don't support zoos or aquariums unless it's about conservation, but made the trip here out of curiosity and to see how it had changed over the years and to see what efforts were made to look after the creatures in their care. In fact, it wasn't worth the entry fee and felt neglected and slightly run down in places. The aquarium and two accompanying cafes seem to be run by the same company, as they swapped staff during our time there, so it's clear that this is a commercial enterprise rather than for conservation of species. In many cases, fish were crammed into tiny tanks, and even the tank with an underwater walkway was woefully small for the larger specimens swimming around. There were also two otters in a small enclosure - otters in the wild have a territory of about 21 miles. We also noticed that the biggest fish tank was contaminated with plastic trash. All in all, I'd rather see the fish swimming free.

The Lakeland Motor Museum is a busy place with over 30,000 exhibits on display tracing the history of road transport in the 20th century. The collection includes cars, motorbikes and more, making it a great day out for all ages.
Great place to visit, lovely cars and bikes kept in fantastic condition. Something for everyone and so interesting. Staff were helpful and friendly, made sure we got the most from our visit. Seeing the Bluebird exhibit was a bonus but the best bit was the coffee shop/restaurant - service, coffee and cakes.
sam morrow — Google review
Not the biggest motor museum but a little gem nevertheless. Guaranteed to trigger nostalgia and feel good hormones, my wife and I were constantly saying " I remember that" and "it was a great car/bike". It usually was too. Nice spread of types of car and motorbike. A large collection of early powered bicycles on the upper level. See if you can spot a cheeky police officer as well. A warm welcome at the entrance preceded an even hotter museum as it was a sunny day. Take water with you. Toilets were clean and there is plenty of free parking. Usual gift shop on way out and a pretty good cafe with nice veranda, where you can reminisce about your nostalgic trip down memory lane.

A lovely visit to this little museum packed to the rafters (literally) with automotive heritage. I particular appreciated the Land Speed Record exhibits. They were welcoming to our car group and even reserved part of the car park for us. A lovely morning.
Dave Llewellyn — Google review
Exactly as expected a lovely place to spend a couple of hours looking at old cars, bikes, be bicycles to and lots more. Everything on display was in beautiful but condition and so clean. There is a cafe attached but it was so crowded we did not stop. I'm guessing it might be slightly less crowded on a weekday rather than at the weekend.

The Museum is in a lovely setting, lots to see from different genres of motor vehicles follow the simple one way system and you'll miss nothing, the Campbell exhibition is very interesting. The on site restaurant is comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating a lovely place to relax

Visited on a Saturday with family. Loads of cars, motorbikes, cycles and other stuff to see. Love the variety and info on each. The kids loved doing the quiz on the way around the museum too. Nice Malcolm and Donald Campbell exhibit too. The cafe was really nice as well. The shop was good for souvenirs and we had a really nice afternoon out. It wasn't busy, the exhibits were interesting and £42 for the whole family (5 of us) was really reasonable entry.
John Worrall-McBride — Google review
What a cracking museum. Tremendous variety of exhibits and lots of explanatory write ups and insights. Good ‘mixture’ of motor cars and motorbikes. Really enjoyed and appreciated the separate Bluebird/Donald Campbell exhibit. Wonderful, high quality Cafe Ambio on site 👍Please note, this review appreciated and acknowledged by the museum 👍
Dai Davies — Google review
We really like thus museum. It's medium sized, but has a lot packed in and would easily fill a morning or afternoon visit. The cafe is also pretty big with good options for kids. The Donald Campbell exhibition in a separate building adds another element of interest. The variety of cars is great, from the earliest examples to modern 'practical classics'. If you are into classic motorbikes, there are loads! Parking is free and plentiful. Under 5's go free, though good luck getting any car-loving child through the gift shop without your wallet becoming a little lighter!
Tim J — Google review
A great way to spend a few hours if you're a car/bike enthusiast, but plenty to keep non-enthusiasts entertained and informed too....Some beautiful exhibits, and all arranged really nicely, with a "One-Way System" which gives you the best chance of taking as much as possible in. The Bluebird display is very interesting....So much so, that I bought a book from the excellent shop, to learn more! Also had a coffee and a beautiful flapjack in the attached cafe, where the food looked fantastic and the staff were friendly. A very worthwhile place to visit.
David Barry — Google review
Brilliant collection of cars, motorbikes, bicycles, and associated items. Very friendly staff, clean and tidy museum. Lots of free parking. Adult admissions £11 each, but it includes the Donald Campbell exhibition, and you can go for lunch next door and then go back for another look. Cafe next door clean and tidy, friendly staff and good selection of items on the menu.
Sarah Mitchell — Google review
Plenty of parking on arrival which is free. Not the biggest museum but none the less crammed with classic cars bike motorbikes and toys. It is well worth a visit if you’re near the area. A few hours to do the museum and Campbell / Bluebird exhibit. The exhibits are kept lovely and clean. A vast range of ages throughout the museum. Toilets are located in the museum. The cars have information boards/ tickets for you to read all about them. Some cars are privately owned so can leave and not be seen. So if you see a car in my pictures you want to see in person get to the museum and have a look. There is an upstairs part to the museum that can be accessed via stairs/ a lift. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and was not disappointed at all. The gift shop has plenty to choose from. I would visit again and have a look around in the future. The prices of admission are very reasonable. Adults (16+ years) £11.00 Children (5-15 years) £6.60 Families (2 adults & up to 3 children) £30.00 Child (under 5 years) Free

Great selection of vehicles of all types, from cars to bikes and motorbikes. Also some amphibious types on display. Ample parking space. Dedicated display area for The Campbell land and water speed record attempts also with full sized replicas and video clips. Good cafe on site also.

Outstanding, really well presented exhibition. This is a 1 and half hour experience up to half a day depending on your level of interest. Also a great cafe on site. I would recommend a combined ticket with the Lake Windermere river cruise. Excellent day out if you do both.

Went here as a treat for the hubby but ended up really enjoying the experience myself. An amazing collection of cars and motorbikes details of the history of each car was very interesting. The bluebird exhibition was great too as the weekend we were there bluebird arrived back in Coniston.

Great little Museum, but really packed in with lots of great cars and bikes. Had a great day out here. Loved the section on the Campbell,s and really enjoyed reading and watching about it. Sat outside next to the river enjoying a cup of tea and a cream fruit scone. Also dog friendly, so you don,t need to leave your 4 legged friend at home. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic little museum, visit many years ago and still enjoy my recent visit. Though small, it is packed with historic vehicles, memorabilia and vintage toys. Well worth the £12 visit, the cafe is very nice and all the staff are friendly and chatty, especially the VW petrol head :D A good day out or as part of a trip round the Windermere area. Plenty of cars for serious motor heads, the odd fire engine 😍 and the whole family. Also has suitable parking for motorhomes.
Matthew Chambers — Google review
Fantastic museum! The superb vehicles were enhanced by the huge amount of 'motor-related' paraphernalia. A massive nostalgia trip. And the Campbell exhibition, with the replica Bluebirds, is a massive bonus...very moving! We spent 2 very happy hours here.......and there's also a nice cafe.

Great collection of vintage cars, motorbikes and related memorabilia with friendly staff on hand. Ticket includes entry to the Donald Campbell exhibition next door. There is also ample car parking, a café on site and toilets.
Darren Hunt — Google review
Had lovely time here. The cars and bikes are fantastic, and the information about them are great. Loved looking at the toy cars . Seen some that I have. The bluebird exhibition is well worth it just to see the magnificent bluebird boat and car. Enjoyed having a coffee over looking the river. Can't wait to go back. My kids enjoyed the quiz, and the shop is well stocked and resalable price .
Sarahnigel Thompson — Google review
Great place to visit especially if raining as all indoors, there's a cafe on site, huge collection of classic cars and motorcycles plus bicycles and collectibles, in a separate building the earlier bluebirds are on display , including the land based and sea based versions, the recovered damaged bluebird is being restored to working condition but is not on display, they have been given permission to run the bluebird on Coniston once it's been restored, just for one run before it's permanently placed in the museum, it's a part of history and memóry that needs preserving to the dedication of a very special man.

Fantastic place for a picnic and water sports. Take your own paddle board, kayak or canoe or hire one for £24 a hour for a double sit on kayak or row boat for 4. This is a lovely place especially in the sun. Free parking for National Trust members or from £5 for none members. There is also a cafe serving light meals and ice creams.

Awesome place for a few hours on the lake! Alfie and Tiana were fantastic. We were only expecting 3 people to get into the water but somehow, more of us were encouraged to grab a paddle/oar and it was great fun! The water was fresh and exhilarating. There are ways to enjoy the water without getting wet but worth taking a swimsuit. The water was so clean. I fell in three times but I enjoyed it every time 🤣

Really enjoyed our trip here. £6 to park for 2 hours and plenty to do. We took the dog for a nice walk in the area towards the bottom of the lake where they can be off the lead. She had a good swim and then we walked to the cafe for refreshments. On the way we saw someone painting, people swimming, a group of paddle boarders and multiple picnics. Lots of space and nice and open. Highly recommended.

A great place to enjoy for the whole family and with lots of space to have a picnic, there is a cafe on site, toilets, kayak and boat hire, playground, you can easily spend a whole day there. You can also bring your own paddle board, or kayak. The scenery is stunning and the walk around the meadow is beautiful. Watch out for the steam train to go by!

Great place for unexperienced to play with kayak / paddle board. You can stand up in most of it. Its also patrolled by boat for activity centre where you can hire their stuff too. Lovely large grounds and good facilities. Benches dotted around for use. Parking is a little tight as it's popular like anywhere really. Staff were really lovely and helpful as we were in a long wheel base camper van + two large motor bikes.

A bit underwhelming if I’m being honest. The NT staff were lovely, the views of the river were pretty and the cafe did look inviting. We basically came for a walk (it was advertised as ‘free’ but was £6 to park for 2 hours.) The walk was essentially through a muddy field. I was hoping for more trees.

Truly wonderful location to pull up and enjoy the South tip of Lake Windamere! There's a whole activity hub of stuff to do. As well as some peaceful walks in the meadow and lakeside. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. There are so many things to do and enjoy. Booking in advance is a great idea to make sure you make the most of your time. Although just strolling around the gardens and the path along the lake is also very enjoyable. The staff are superb, well trained, helpful and make sure you enjoy a good time and make sure you are safe.

Good for family with kids due to nice playground with clean toilet within the outdoor playground. Many sitting areas for the parent or picnic. No entrance fees, just small fees for the parking. Short nature walk along the coastal, and water sports available before 5 pm. I arrived in the late evening around closing time (5:30 pm), very peaceful. The gate will be closed by 7 pm, and reopened by next day morning.

Nice playground for the kids, there is a kids golf which was interesting and a view is not bad too.Yes I can recommend this place for a day trip

Book in advance if you can and would like to do activities. We arrived by boat but you can also drive there. There is hot food like fish and chips, charcoal bbq and a cafe for sandwiches and ice cream. Great place to visit👌

This is the venue for the great north swim and it is very beautiful. The house and gardens are particularly well kept and held lots of inspiration for me as an inspiring gardener. We got there via public transport from Windermere. The car park on broad Street has an early bird special. If you get there between 8-9am you can park there for the day for £1.

This is one of the most beautiful places I ever been in the UK! I didn’t get inside the castle, but the garden! the view over the lake! and the tremendous amount of activities in this greenery is just amazing!!! The stuff were very nice too. I had my father with me who’s 80 and his walking ability is limited. The nice stuff offered a free electric buggy for him to go around and he absolutely loved it ❤️ It’s place for the family for all ages to enjoy! If you ever come to the lakes this place is a MUST.

Beautiful place. You can park and pay. We went down to the cruise, and it wasn't far. On the way, we saw a cafe/gift shop and also zipline (tree top) and a play area. We got our tickets and the boat came. We got on it and went around windermere. They give lots of info on board. It stops at each stop. The views were breathtaking. Really enjoyed this adventure.

Shame to have to pay for (min 2 hours parking) when there's not much to look at/do at this time of year. Some nice things in the visitor centre/shop and lovely art in the gallery too. Definitely worth a try in the summer. Shame there are no vegan options in the restaurant/cafe. 😮

This is a great day out for the family from grandchild to grandparent. There are plenty of activities - archery, laser clay pigeon, Lake cruises, tree top ropes, zip line, just to name a few. Or if you wish you can have a quiet stroll through the gardens down to Lake Windermere followed by a cappuccino and cake. If you want to spoil yourself take a spot of lunch on the cafe terrace. The hot sarnies are delicious.

Fabulous place to visit for all ages! From tranquil garden to adrenaline rush of zip line there's something for everyone. You can even take a trip up the lake to Ambleside or across to Wray Castle on a cruise boat. Great adventure play park with toilet and picnic beaches. Tree top nets are an amazing way to spend a few hours to great rid of that extra energy. Boat hire from kayaks, paddleboards, rowboat, canoes and motors boats Krazy karate, Archery, Laser Clay Shooting, brave the cave, woodland faerie trail, mini golf, mini tractors and treetop trek. Lots of choice of places to eat or even bring your own picnic.

Nice garden and view over lake, visitor centre and cafe were closing at 5.30 what feels a bit early for summer. I assume that a lot of people just like us are trying to get most of their time in Lake District and would like to enjoy cup of tea or buy some presents from gift shop after 5pm. Garden gates are closing at 7 pm, so we could have a much more relaxed time and spent some money there as well instead of quick walk around garden.

Beautiful site on edge Lake Windermere. Run by Lake District National Park. Lots of activities for kids and adults , charges apply. Can swim in Lake lots little access points. Water v clear. Cafe/restaurant up at big house serves brunch/lunch..Scones yum! Can meander around walled garden and woodland. Pay to Park

We've been on holiday in the lakes for 2 weeks and spent 2 different days here, the park is great. Our girls did the treetop nets and loved it, we had 2 hours or time out while they were safe in the nets too which was a real treat 😁 the place is well kept, the cafe is over priced, the lake activities well priced. Recommend going but take a pack up and a flask
tilly2shoes75 — Google review
This is an amazing place for the kids. So much to do we had to split it all out over three days. Some would say the activities are a little expensive but I saved up for this holiday with the intention of taking the children on multiple activities so wasn't much of a shock when I needed to pay the cost. Also in my opinion the price reflects the experience and equipment used, there's no where near me that even comes close to this place as a whole. I would take your own food and drinks. There's no rules specifically about that unless your in a venue. The grounds themselves are amazing and plenty to look at. There's plenty to do for free if you can't afford or interested in doing premium experiences and that includes one of the best adventure playgrounds I have seen, and yes it's free for all.
leon nesmejanow — Google review
A beautiful visitor centre and garden that I was not even aware existed until recently! Admission is free. Lake steamers stop here, so you can arrive by boat and stay here all day. If you arrive by car, there's a pay and display car park (£8.50 for an all-day visit). I came here with a small coach party to do the Heritage Garden Tour, which lasted about an hour. Our guide Kevin was both friendly and knowledgeable, and he shared some interesting facts about the house, garden, and family who once lived here. Some magnificent trees and flowering shrubs, including a magnolia in full bloom that was planted around 1900. Gorgeous views down to the lake. Be aware that this is a terraced garden, and there are steps that can be a bit slippy after rain. After our tour, we enjoyed a cream tea in a cosy café with lake views. The scone, with jam and cream, was huge and very fresh. There are clean toilets next to the café, a gallery with dioramas of Cumbrian wildlife and habitats, and a beautiful gift shop. This is a fantastic place for families and children. There's a treetop walk and zip wire near the entrance, an adventure playground, and little tractors for small children to ride on. There's also a good variety of outdoor activities, including archery, mini golf, laser clay shooting, and bikes and kayaks for hire. Dogs are welcome both in the grounds and the café. I enjoyed my visit, but it was all too brief! Would love to return in the summer to explore the woodland and lakeside walks.

Wonderful day out, they pulled out all the stops to make it special for families. Halloween decorations and experiences were superb if not a wee bit scary (haunted forest). Chris the magician and professor pumpernickel were excellent! £96.00 might seem expensive, but for a family of 4 who expected to stay 4 hours but actually stayed 8 hours and could of stayed longer, well, well worth it. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Matt Lambert — Google review
Good trip out, been a number of times before and the activities are the same with the addition of axe throwing. Always best to check online and book in advance . Best advice I can give is eat before you arrive or take your own. It is expensive to eat and drink here, hotdogs £9.50 child's burger £6 a plain coffee £3. This makes it a costly day out . They also no longer have toilets near the play area and tree top nets so if you have children it's a walk to the bathrooms at the house.
Sweenyt Todd — Google review
Really quiet when we were there,so no issues in parking. Looks a great place for children with zip lines, clay pigeon shooting, archery and of course the lake activities. These all need booking beforehand. We walked all the paths and enjoyed the surroundings. Parking cost was £3 for 2 hours,so not bad really. Overall recommend.

Brockhole on Windermere is a wonderful place for children and grown ups. Pre-book the trees and zip wire, head up to the house for some really great food. Lots to do and discover.
Glenn Maguire — Google review
We called here briefly for a stretch of the legs and to see the sunset. Parking cost us £3 for 2 hours on Ringo. I'd definitely like to return here to see it properly in the future. We had a walk through the woodland and to the lakeside. There's loads of a actvities here, massive grounds and a house. There's a Beatrix Potter trail I'd like to do and a bird hide I'd like to visit. Activities cost extra but the ground are free to wander round. Plenty of maps are dotted about in the grounds.

Jackson's Bistro is a great restaurant with excellent staff, service and food. They serve a three course menu for only 22 pounds, which is great value. The seafood platter was amazing and the choice of having four small puddings was great. I would definitely recommend Jackson's Bistro to anyone looking for a delicious meal in the Lake District!
Excellent staff, service and food. Loved it. Seafood platter was amazing and the choice of having 4 small puddings was great.

Very decent. A slight Faux Pas on the veg medley but everything fairly decent. Really liked the confit duck. Service A1 lovely team, owners/operators should be proud. Look after them.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to! Staff were so incredibly polite and welcoming you can tell they are all very passionate about the restaurant and what they do. I had the fillet steak and my boyfriend had the salmon tagliatelle and both were perfection. Not a single thing to fault about this restaurant. We are here on holiday and have our hearts set on this being our to go to place. Outstanding🌟❤️

We visited Jacksons Bistro last night with friends to dine whilst on a short weekend break, it has to be said we had an absolutely brilliant time, the staff and management here are true experts at providing customer service and a level of positive Interaction with customers that simply eludes most places. We were made very welcome and the staff had a good knowledge of how the various dishes were prepared and also what wines would compliment our meal. The menu was varied, I found the prices a little bit on the high side on some of the items on the A La Carte menu, however the fixed price menu made up for this with a great choice of similar dishes. For instance both menus had rib eye steak, so it was all good. We had a lovely meal and great overall dining experience, I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. A big thanks to the staff who made our evening so good. Clearly they take Pride in what they do. 10/10
Richard Hindmarsh — Google review
Food was excellent, very tasty and the portion size is great. The set menu is reasonably priced. Services were great except one particular staff. He was very arrogant and talked us down like we are kids, and letting us dine there (we had a reservation) like he was doing us a massive favour. The other staff were very friendly, shame that one particular staff made the whole experience a bit bitter and hubby didn't want to go back again.

As many other reviews have said, the service was personal and top class. Proper caring waiter - absolutely loved that. We had the three-course menu. We were planning on two-course but had room for a third and to add that on was only an extra £2! We had cauliflower soup and cod loin for starters, salmon tagliatelle (x 2) for mains and chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. £24 for 2 courses, £26 for 3.
Jane Axell — Google review
The Jackson Bistro has excellent service. The men hosting and serving are very attentive and nice. The atmosphere was a bit lacking. The food was fine. The steak was well prepared, the fries were a bit greasy and could have been crispier, the ribs were very tender but a bit small and the soy marinade lacked some layers.
Aron Baaijens — Google review
Really good food, lovely atmosphere and the service was 5*.
Dominika Nagy — Google review
We were recommended Jackson's Bistro by a number of people online and it did not disappoint. The food was incredible, we had different starters (chicken liver pate and the scallops - both amazing) and we both had the ribeye for mains- one of the most delicious steaks we've had (and we've had a lot of ribeyes because they're our favourite!). Cooked to perfection, melt-in-the mouth tender and full of flavour, I didn't want it to end! For dessert, we had the chocolate brownie and the crumble; I couldn't decide between ice cream and custard with my crumble so they suggested I had both! Amazing! Again, absolutely delicious. The service was top class; attentive, friendly- I can't praise it highly enough. Highly recommend you give this wonderful place a try!

Modern British restaurant
Porto is a stylish and modern British restaurant that offers fixed price deals. It also has a heated roof terrace perfect for summer evenings.
Delicious Sunday meal here and what great value: 2 courses for £18! The beef brisket roast was perfect and platings were beautiful. I’d highly recommend. Booking well in advance for normal dinner suggested but we managed to book Sunday lunch the day before fine.

We had dinner at Porto restaurant yesterday evening and had a wonderful experience. Everything from the starters through to the deserts tasted amazing. The food was put together in a way where the flavours complimented each other perfectly. I fully recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fine dinning at its best.

Lovely food, better than the menu suggested in my opinion. The main dishes were great, as were the starters. The only minor was the service was a little slow even though there were lots of staff. I asked for water twice and it did not come. I would definitely recommend this place.
Jedtravels — Google review
We came here at 5 for the early dinner menu, after reading all the good reviews. Love that they let us have the monk fish which is on the set menu but not the a la carte menu. Food was average, pigeon breast was a bit overcooked, the seasonal vegetables were cooked in white wine - not quite sure the rationale behind this. The service was not what we expected. We had to ask for sharing plates, the used cutleries for starters were not taken, we were being finger pointed by another waitress.. It was not a pleasant eating experience for us.
Suki Leung — Google review
Cosy place for having an exceptional meal, I highly recommend their wild mushroom risotto (tho I didn't photo it), it's rich but not overwhelming, I guess it's because the base sauce was made of spinach so it balanced its creamy taste. I had my bass fillet, it was really amazing as well. I didn't expect this bistro to be this good, but we indeed had a good time

Fantastic restaurant. Great service from the second we walked in, a nice atmosphere and loved the music they had playing! The food looked fantastic and tasted delicious. Nearly everything on the menu was able to be gluten free too. Whilst it is slightly more expensive than your average restaurant, I would definitely say it is worth the money. Highly recommended!

Great experience here. The food was 5 out of 5. Different and contemporary food, the meat was tender and juicy, food presentation was worth what I paid for. The choice of sauce was unique yet tasty. Service 5 out of 5. Very attentive and professional servers I was early for my appointment but they accommodate us without much fuss. Atmosphere was nice and airy, they didn't try to squeeze you in so there is plenty of spaces around you which is nice. Online booking is a huge bonus.

The food was very nice 😊 from presentation to taste everything is perfect. Terrine with pineapple was a very refreshing touch. Cod fritters was quite exotic. The Lamb was very well cooked super tender and soft. Love the risotto too.

One of Bowness Wharf's leading restaurants, offering some of the best ingredients and flavours in the UK, is here, PORTO . The recommendation is to line up before the restaurant opens at 5am. The Early Bird Menu is a budget menu from 5am to 6am! This is a huge portion for only £22! The beautiful female staff were friendly and great. Good choice of wines by the glass.

Well presented all plates, very beautiful We had a lovely dinner. We lived in France for 12 years. This restaurant is the same class as we have in France. Love the chicken Caesar salad. I ordered sea bass, my friends had steak, lamb, and risotto. All were delicious. The only drawback was kids menu’s meat ball; too salty.

It was our last night and we ventured out for dinner. We didn't book anywhere and that was a bit of a mistake. If you are staying in Windermere and eating local book somewhere as it gets busy. We chanced it at the Porto and luckily got a table. We went up on the terrace which was nice to be outside because the weather has been beautiful. My wife had the beef medallions and I had the lamb shank. Both meals were beautifully presented and and faultless. Lovely little restaurant and our food was lovely and reasonable priced

High quality restaurant with excellent staff who are friendly and polite. Food is superb, beautifully presented dishes which deliver on flavour also. Most notably the terrine to start and pheasant for mains (attached picture). Price is very reasonable considering the high standards.

What an amazing restaurant! We had the most fabulous meal at Porto. Each and every preparation was done to perfection, be it the Scallops, Lamb chump, Steak or the sea food pasta. Absolutely good vibes. Love the decorations and lights. Place is very cosy, staff nice and helpful. Food Was amazing. Beef croquettes with sauerkraut and horseradish mayo just spot on. Lamb cooked to the perfection. Brilliant gnocchi. Can't say a bad word. Worth a visit and we will definitely come back.

Visited here whilst on a weekend away with my husband. I had heard such great things so reserved a table in advance, although there was no need as there was plenty of seating around midday on a Saturday. I chose the breakfast and my husband the burger. Both meals were delicious, fairly priced and generous portions. A special mention goes out to the sausage patty. Absolutely fit!!! Would definitely recommend and will be looking to return when we come back soon.

A small cafe which managed to accommodate nine of us including our mum with her walker and two dogs with a few steps to their downstairs room. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Menu was limited as we only wanted a snack as we had a meal booked later in the afternoon but some of us enjoyed pancakes and the men shared paninis and chips. All satisfied and able to last another few hours.

Situated in the heart of the village UFH opens from 10am for breakfast/brunch/lunch and also opens in the evening from 5pm for dinner Monday to Friday. Weekend is 10-9pm. We opted to try their breakfast: Eggs Florentine with Halloumi & Smashed avo with poached eggs and halloumi. Espresso and cortado for drinks. In terms of service it was very friendly and attentive. We got a table straight away. The food was presented nicely. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly. I just personally felt it was an average breakfast with not much choice on the menu. There was full English with vegetarian and Vegan option but nothing that really stood out more. They serve illy coffee and the drinks were presented nicely.

We ate here as a couple on a weeknight after browsing through a few options in Bowness. Surroundings are nice and the place looks welcoming from outside. It wasn't busy on our visit and so service was prompt and efficient. The menu looked good but the food was I'm afraid a bit of a disappointment. It wasn't terrible, but neither was it particularly good and we both left underwhelmed. We had meze to start; it was fine but something equally I felt I could've made at home pretty easily to a similar standard with supermarket ingredients. This was followed by the supposedly charred cauliflower steak. I found this a bit dry and underseasoned and the curried aubergine it came with tasted overly acidic and not particularly pleasant. Our other main was the confit leek and applewood cheese bake, not an awful dish but a bit bland and heavy. Overall price was as expected in a tourist spot but we felt not good value for the food quality.

Excellent food with amazing service. Would highly recommend. We enjoyed the Classic Pizza, Buttermilk Chicken burger and Moules et Frites. All extremely tasty and the Biscoff cheesecake for dessert was next level!

We ordered Calamari with sweet potatoes, Spicy Chicken wings and a Shawarma. Food tasted good, the mojito was 6/10. It seems the menu changes quite often and we weren’t aware. We picked the place by looking at the menu on their google maps details, and I was looking forward to some mussels. Their current menu’s are posted on the entrance but we didn’t think to look as we thought we had already seen it with photos, and also juggling a toddler along a busy tourist area we didn’t want to stop right by the roadside reading a menu. But overall we didn’t regret going in there. Service is good too but when we visited at a less busy hour.

Really good quality food: well cooked and imaginative menus and flavour parings - served in an efficient and friendly manner. The Bowness branch was cosy, welcoming and had a really nice, relaxed vibe about it. We were a "walk-in" and had a lovely meal and the atmosphere was just right - a really enjoyable evening. We'd highly recommend a visit to UFH.

Great service, great atmosphere and one of the best veggie breakfasts we’ve ever had. We couldn’t recommend this cafe/restaurant highly enough. We had booked a table for breakfast as part of a weekend away and as usual when you don’t know an area you wonder if you have made the right choice. Well there wasn’t any problems there! The team here offer a casual, friendly service. The food was cooked to perfection, with the best baked beans we’ve had in a cafe. Our only regret was that we couldn’t get the chance to visit again on this trip. Next time!!

The begin with the sign outside says 9am, but in actual act it opens at 9:30am... A swift walk around the town and back again! As soon as we sat down it the waitress came over and ordered our drink and food. And in a very short turn around both were delivered. The food tasting amazing, definitely recommend it! We both had full English with extra hashbrowns and both left very satisfied! The only thing that could be improved is to add different options for milk as they only offer whole. And for atmosphere all we could hear was a business meeting about finances and the manger being told to clean out the cellar and that would be his task for this week. All in all great food great place.

Stumbled upon this on a walk from our hotel and the traditional pub caught our eye. Looking at the menu most options are traditional pub food which was appealing. I went for the scotch egg to start which was pretty good, not too dense and the sausage meat was not over seasoned. Portion size was pretty large so be prepared. Mains I had the pie of the day which was chicken, ham and leek. You can tell these were handmade the pastry was buttery and light and the filling was jam packed with chicken. Lovely! Portions although looked small on the plate were really filling and I would just opt for a main and then go for a dessert if not full. Service was decent no complaints there at all. We went for the house Merlot (a Chilean) which was really lovely and smooth, too easy to drink. If you looking for home cooking and a full tummy this is the place! Added to this review as we came back for the Sunday roast and it was gorgeous- highly recommend. If I was to make any criticism it would be to have some more greens :) Go early if you want to cauliflower cheese it was sold out when got there :(

Wonderful place in the heart of Windermere, just a couple of minutes walk from the mere itself! I've been a few times in the past and haven't got a bad word to say about it! It's a traditional style pub with modern facilities, a lovely fire in the corner and it's dog friendly! The staff are brilliance and naturally friendly, willing to help and have a chat The food is absolutely brilliant with something for everyone, they have lunch and mains, sides and smaller bites, loads of vegan and vegetarian options aswell! Loads of good local beer and ale but they also do teas and coffee! You would be happy with a flying visit and a pint after a walk, a simple coffee in the afternoon relaxing or a delicious evening meal! Can't beat it, I'd 100% recommend the Flying pig!

Lovely pub good beers we ate here twice had a beautiful fish and chips the first time and it was excellent! The 2nd time we ate here we went for the mussels as they looked so nice seeing them been served to others! BUT they were the most tasteless mussels i have ever eaten absolutely no flavour at all like he cooked them in a pint of milk!! Maybe they should send the chef back to cookery school and teach him how to cook mussels or just stick with cooking fish and chips!!

Great beer garden which does draw you in, as its all decked with flowers. Sat inside, got a table in 5 mins. They have a few different beers but not a huge array, they were kind enough to bring a small taster of the specials. Great looking menu of big meals and sandwiches, you better be hungry as portions are decent. Got a great pulled chicken salad with honey mustard dressing switched out, it was great. Ploughman's was everything you'd want in a ploughman's lunch. Definitely worth a visit. Dog friendly if that's your thing. Staff very nice.

Good, home style food. We had roast chicken and Cumberland sausage, plus brownies for dessert. Even with a big group in, we got a table quickly and our food came out quickly. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. We were a bit sad that there was no Scotch egg on the menu any more, but only because, as Australians, we still haven't tried one - the rest of the country are probably sick of them.

Great little place that’s very cosy and warm. Deco was on point makes you feel like your in the 18th century place , was also nice that they use log burner . On to the food. Food are just on point! Very fresh tomatoes soup and sourdough bread to go with with, if it’s was only thicker it would of been pasta sauce! 10/10! Fish and chip - ah pub classic! You can’t go wrong and this place elevates that by home made beer batter fish along with house coleslaw to go with it . Chip was also excellent. I’m sure what whatever you’ll order it would be great. Give this place a go and please let me know what you think :) Thanks for reading .

Staff were very friendly, we only had a couple of beers, but they were great! Didn't eat, but the reviews are good 👌

Walked into Windermere town from our Motorhome, after a mooch around the shops with 3 kids and dog in tow it was lovely to sit down and relax. We had to wait half an hour for food as we’d gotten there earlier but nothing a nice cappuccino didn’t fix. Booth in the window was perfect for the kids, colouring sheets were provided to keep them busy. Food was lovely, service was great and quick. Couldn’t ask for more to be honest. Will definitely be back!

After a long hike my partner and I were looking for a classic pub comfort dinner. We arrived to this pub and ordered the beef burger and the pie of the day (which was beef and mushrooms). Both dishes were absolutely packed of flavour. Also last but not least we ordered a scotch egg to share which as well, was very tasty. Deffinitely will go back!

Came on a Monday evening in March, service impeccable, very quick and explained about various gf options. Sausage and mash tasty, gf burger tasty too. Will be back. Dog friendly too

Had a great meal here while visiting from Australia. We sat outside on a wobbly table that provided several laughs. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Really great food, tasty and served hot. Staff were friendly and helpful, but looked like they needed a little more staff than what they had. Had a lovely time! Chicken burger was especially nice.

Came for a Sunday roast. Literally got half a chicken and it was lovely. Everything else that came with it was amazing and tasted unreal. The atmosphere is very cosy and warm.

Wonderful, wonderful food. Cannot recommend highly enough. Feels like more than a meal out: it's an experience. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable and warm. We shall be back!

We received vouchers to dine here for our engagement and it was a lovely little treat. It is an A La Carte style menu with matching wine suggestions and there are plenty of options for everyone. All of the courses were beautifully cooked and presented and the staff were lovely! The only thing that didn’t wow me was the dessert and I love a good pud but overall the experience was 5*

I think this is the best restaurant I have ever been to. We arrived a little later than booked due to an accident on the road, but the staff were so polite and happy to still accommodate us when we were expecting to be turned away. We ordered starters, mains and desserts as we wanted to try a little but of everything. We received some complimentary nibbles before our starters arrived, which was such a lovely surprise and each thing that was served to us was a delicious mouthful of flavour heaven. We were also served a little bit of bread (I think they said that it was made with beer) which was very dense, but delicious and very filling. I really want the recipe to this bread so I can make it at home! Every time a dish came out, the waiter would kindly explain each element to us. The food is beautifully presented and each element of the dish really compliments the other. Even though the portions may be classed as small by some, they are incredibly filling and you definitely leave the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area and if I am ever back, will definitely visit again. For the quality of food you receive, this place is very reasonably priced as well.

We had a superb meal here. Warm and inviting restaurant with great atmosphere and fabulous food. The staff went out of their way to tweak certain dishes to cater for our dietary requirements. Would highly recommend.

4.5🌟 We loved our experience at kysty, food, service, and atmosphere all lovely, the 3 course set lunch was very good value, and very flavoursome, wine to complement starter and main very nice, maybe a touch pricey for some, that being said we would happily pay again. We booked in advance and rec'd e mail and phone call to confirm booking👍

My partner & I enjoyed a wonderful dinner here last weekend. Everything we ordered was expertly prepared without a lot of fanfare or pomp (the lamb was especially delicious). Table service was friendly and approachable, if anything just a tad slow. I wouldn’t normally complain about them being slow but we were reminded twice before seating that they would need the table back in 2 hours. It’s discomforting to be rushed and then made to wait. Do make reservations and make them far in advance. You will not be disappointed with the food!

A real treat. The three of us had a wonderful lunch at Kysty. We had the cured chalk stream trout, the charred mackerel followed by the guides hen with Madeira sauce, the chocolate device and the rum tart. What a delicious, delicious meal with fabulous service. We loved the wine pairings. Oh that we lived nearer to dine here regularly.

A wonderful evening with top class food and excellent service. The staff were so helpful with food and wine choices for both one vegetarian and one meat eater. We would definitely recommend booking well in advance to anyone visiting Ambleside. Can’t wait to try the sister restaurant ‘The Stamp House’. Children on the next table, happy and content. Good atmosphere and chatty between tables. Good friendly ambience. Would recommend to all family and friends. Well deserving of our five stars.

Had a wonderful meal here last Friday. Restaurant was excellent. We had a variety of starters, mains and puddings paired with the recommended wines. From the variety of amuse-bouche that were offered to us to the last mouthful of dessert the food was gorgeous and presented perfectly. I had the Pork belly starter followed by Guinea Hen breast. Will be returning next time we visit Ambleside.

Lovely restaurant that met our expectations fully. Superb service from attentive and knowledgeable staff. Muse bouche and exceptional bread enhanced the experience further. Food allergy and intolerance mean that fixed menu options are not easy for us so the benefit of 3 - 4 choices per course gives us the flexibility we need.

Amazing place. Chef went out of his way to prepare vegan and gluten free options for me which were incredible, he also came out to have a chat and ask me how the food was, which I really appreciate. All the staff here were friendly and welcoming and the whole restaurant has a beautiful vibe. Some of the best food we had in the lakes.

Everything was 5 stars. It was our wedding anniversary so decided a treat was required. This exceeded our expectations. We chose to go with the wine pairing for each course and thoroughly enjoyed them all. I would definitely eat at Kysty again. We had a great night and we so well looked after by the staff. The food was truly incredible.

Beautiful meals, amazing service, lovely decor. I have been here twice now about 18months apart. The service is always friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are high but in line with Ambleside as a whole. Food is fantastically presented. The amuse bouche are often some of the highlights and the bread is unbelievably good l. The balance of a casual at ease service and the quality of the food is ideal for a social meal that still feels like a treat. My only criticism is that the menu seems to have stayed largely the same for about 18months now and as it is quite small this is more noticeable. Particularly for any vegetarians as they only have one starter and main that they could have.
