Beautiful village for walking. Crowded if there's a cruise ship or two in the bay. Good for swimming too

A fine service indeed with a clean public convenience next door.

I’d like to thank two ladies working in the office de tourisme for their help, assistance, professionalism and dedication in a very complicated situation. I suggest approaching them not only when you face any difficulties in Villefranche-sur-mer, but just to help you around and suggest some useful places to see or eat. Again many thanks to them!

One of the most helpful tourist office I've visited in France. The person there was really helpful not giving us only useful information about the city, but also about the one's around and how to get there.

The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is a luxurious early 20th-century mansion situated on the Mediterranean coast. Commissioned by Baroness Beatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, the villa boasts of an extensive collection of Louis XVI furniture, Fragonard paintings, and Sevres porcelain. The highlight of this magnificent structure is its nine separately themed gardens that offer spectacular views of the sea.
Beautiful Gardens. Historical villa. Easily enjoyed in half a day. Self guided English and other languages available included in price.
Ken P. — Google review
Stunning and really versatile gardens and a great audio tour (via an app on your phone) about the woman who had the villa built. The views over the bay alone would be enough reason to visit. We had lunch in the tea room and although it was a bit pricey the taste and quality was certainly worth its price. Only downside to my visit was that there are renovations underway at the front facade of the building. They are necessary and I’m happy they are keeping the villa in good shape, but it was a pity I couldn’t see the villa in all its glory, I guess I have a reason to come back.

This is the mansion of one of the Rothschild heirs. When you arrive they have dedicated parking areas which are fairly narrow. From the moment you exit your car you will be wowed by the beauty. The property is surrounded on several sides by the ocean. There are views it seems every few feet that are both majestic and amazing. You enter the house and pay for your tickets which are about $16 for an adult. Then you begin your tour of the gardens. There are nine different types of gardens represented with different motifs. they’re all quite beautiful and I have tried to add a few pictures to illustrate however, neither the pictures are the videos do the place justice. It’s good to remember that quite often as you’re walking do you have direct use of the sea framed by foliage and flowers. Closer to the Château there is a pond in a small stream running from a pagoda with the statuary. Every 20 minutes there is a water show with fountains and music. Once completing your tour of the Gardens, you’ll enter the château where there are two floors containing period pieces, including furniture, decorations, artworks in frescoes in a large interior courtyard. On the second floor there’s also a small video about 15 or 20 minutes. Please take the time to watch it as it shows you much more about the life and times of this amazing individual, and why she collected the art and the things that she did.

The villa is beautiful, but the gardens are splendid! A must see if you’re based in Villefranche or St. Jean Cap Ferrat. Nice and cozy restaurant inside for a quick brunch or just a coffee and a cold drink on the terrace.
Krum Georgiev — Google review
The interior is amazing, but the garden is even more beautiful. Very very worth to visit. At the end of your tour you can enjoy some treats in the tea room. Entrance ticket is 18EUR.

One of the best places we visited during our time along the French Riviera. A beautiful pink villa with gorgeous viewpoints all around. We took our time strolling through the different sections of the garden. We arrived at 3pm on a Thursday and it wasn’t too busy! No waiting around and we bought our tickets from the ticket office but I know you can buy them online. Staff were all really friendly. Would recommend this place!

As a landscape designer I expected to be wowed by this garden. I wasn't. Best part is the Asian garden. Considering how hard it is to get to (by public transportation from Nice), I was disappointed. The Rose garden is uninspiring. The succulent garden takes over about half of it and I'm not a fan, but it's impressive if you are. The music & dancing fountains in the formal garden were the saving Grace. I had dessert and tea in the garden restaurant. 14.70euro. The praline chocolate dessert was just ok, but the tea was good and they gave me honey and hot milk when I asked for it. Restaurant ambience deserved 10 stars. Food gets a 3. The salad looked good, but for 14 or €16, I wasn't interested.

One of the greatest locations to have a wedding, and with good reason. Very private, very stunning, and has incredible views. I love all the spots here at the gardens where you can host your small and intimate ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The staff are incredibly friendly and are very helpful in guiding you around and showing you the best spots for your wedding photography as well! As a wedding photographer, this venue is on top of the list for the best experience!

If you’re looking for a fun activity in French Riviera visiting this Villa is a great way to spend the afternoon in VilleFranche . They have a restaurant inside and the service is great. The entrance was 16€ per person for adults. If I’m not mistaken this is one of the most expensive houses in Europe if not THE most expensive one. The gardens are beautiful and there is even a fountain music show with classical music playing.
Nikola ?olovi? — Google review
Beautiful villa and even more beauitful gardens! Could spend hours just wandering around and enjoying the views. 100% recommend if you are in the french riveria and want an escape into another century. Guided audio tour is free of charge and super informative including entertaining fun facts like the wedding of Beatrice’s dogsz
Melike Bilgic — Google review
Went there on a Thursday. We hopped on the bus from the origin but the bus was already full of the tourists, and I would definitely wait for a next bus as the ride to the Villa was quite long. The garden was beautifully arranged, and I would love to see all the roses in bloom! I also enjoyed the fountain show, which I was not aware of.

A step back in time, experiencing luxury and opulence in a tasteful manner with an exquisite garden 🪴 which keeps unfolding to new discoveries and little rendezvous pockets, one can only imagine the stories these trees 🌳 could tell 🤫 but please stay for a lovely afternoon tea, you just must darhhhlings 🥰❤️💋💋🦋

This is a beautiful estate with immaculate gardens. The views from the property are incredibly beautiful. We didn’t spend much time touring the house but instead spent most of the time wandering the gardens. The restaurant was also nice. If you go sit outside and enjoy the amazing views.
Casey Meraz — Google review
Here's the deal with The Rothschild mansion place - if you're into gardens and the weather is nice it's simply not to be missed. The house itself is interesting, the audio tour is included and has more than enough info to feed curiosity for a casual visit and honestly a bunch more for a mansion enthusiast if such a person exists, who knows. But the real star is the gardens, which present an impeccable and at times breathtaking wander through the grounds. Rigid formality, meandering pathways, fountains, roses and succulents and it's all just really, really nice. We spent 3ish hours for the house and gardens, including time sitting on benches just soaking up the late day sun. You should, too.
Dave Cecchi — Google review
To get there: you can choose the bus (right at the entrance there is the stop) or there is a decent sized parking for the visitors. Entrance fee (mansion and garden) : 16 EURO per person (adult, full faire) The mansion: under renovation / construction in several parts so be careful where you step and how - despite all this the mansion is impressive and definitely recommend to take the audio guide. There's a short movie about the history on the first floor 😉 The garden: MUST visit - there are still some parts under construction, however the 9 different gardens in one definitely deserve your attention. Every 20minutes there's a classical music / water 'show' - enjoy 😉 And please climb on the top because the view is definitely breath-taking.
Tímea — Google review
Just so special. The location, the amenities....such splendor. The views are gorgeous. There's an audio guide that is a must (included with admission). Lots of interesting details. And, the gardens were a perfect end to our visit.
Robert Baracz — Google review
Beautiful landscaping, nice views, some history and a decent lunch. Located high on a peninsula, there is great views of the French Riviera in both directions. The house looks as it was with the furniture, dishes, etc. Landscaping still looks beautiful and there is a cafe with nice food inside or outside. Worth a stop.
Kevin M — Google review
Very well mantained, less crowded and picturesque place to visit. The entrance offers a lovely view of the sea and the azure waters!
Varun Loomba — Google review
Similar to the Getty Villa in California, this villa is in essence a beautiful house with a nice collection of art, furniture as well as a beautiful garden. There’s a small room on the 2nd floor that played a short documentary video, which recounts the story behind the villa. Beatrice Rothschild, the ex-owner of the villa, started collecting art after her divorce with Maurice Ephrussi. We visited the villa on a clear day and enjoyed the visit & views of the Mediterranean.
D C — Google review
Amazing location with views of the coast in two directions. Lots of interesting objects in the gardens . The walk round the gardens was the best part for me. The Villa is a good replica of a traditional Italian Villa but the interior is a bit disappointing if you expected classic paintings. Lots of china and some “classic” style painted ceilings . Space in the free parking at this time of the year and reasonable entrance fee €15 for over 65’s .
Jo Sanderson — Google review
Lovely villa and what a fabulous women Beatrice Rothschild seems to have been! Definitely worth a visit. For the tea room: come early/ late for a good table in case you dont want lunch but just some coffee/tea.
Haaike Braakhuis — Google review
What amazing place!!! We came at 4:30 p.m. and finish our visit seconds before closing (6 p.m.). House is nothing special to see but surrounding is must see and feel. 17e for entrance is fair price for this.

I love this place very much. Very often I come here to walk in different gardens and enjoy the views of the French Riviera. Here are the most beautiful panoramas of Cap Ferrat, Boullier, Filfranche Bay.

This pink villa is a must visit for anyone who loves pink!!!!! The interior decoration of the villa is simply breathtaking. The garden is so green and peaceful. Perfect for a nice walk and to sit under the sun and relax.

We really enjoyed visiting the amazing gardens and the lovely old style house. A moment of peace with stunning views all around.
Thierry (Th33j4y) — Google review
Great place for a half-day visit. You can dine in and enjoy the view. The building is beautiful and you have to walk around the gardens, listen to the music and enjoy the fountains.
Silviu Serban — Google review
We walked over Mt Albron from Nice which was an interesting walk to get there. You can also take the bus easily with a stop right outside the entrance. The villa is interesting, but quite rundown, some beautiful carpets and rooms but from a past era. Gardens are lovely but wouldn’t be in a rush to ever return. Plenty of properties on the way I’d rather see including David Nivens old residence down on the sea frontage. There is some free parking there (but is always busy) and also a golf cart to help those to get up the small hill. Restaurant onsite offers sets menus starting at 12 euro each. Free audio guide which is good.

(Translated by Google) Rue Obscure, a historic and picturesque stroll A bit of history, before being used as a film set for works by Jean Cocteau or Roger Coggio, the rue Obscure, above the Port de la Santé, then served as an open-air defensive walkway from the XIV century. But when the arrangement of a new rampart is started at the same time as the construction of the Citadel, the small dead end is then made obsolete. It was therefore decided to cover it in the 16th and 17th centuries and to use it as a foundation for the houses facing it. Rue Obscure, where darkness now reigns, now more than ever deserves the name given to it.

Fort du Mont Alban is a 16th-century military fortress situated on a clifftop park offering magnificent views of the surrounding peaks and the sea. It is located in Nice and can be reached through walking or parking facilities. We took the 33 bus up most of the hill. A bit of a climb after getting off bus but enjoyable walk. We visited 3 historical sites and walked around the park. Picnic tables under trees for lunch. Then walked down hill to Le San Lucas bar for a casual reviving drink.

Great place to see the city. Unfortunately, it is closed to get into the building. Also, if you want to see the sunset is great, but you need to be careful, since the last bus passes by 7.40-7.50. So keep that in mind. Also the views that it offers you to both sides are great! It is a place that worth to visit.

I love this place… the best 3€ you’ll spend on the French Riviera. This former fishermen’s chapel right on the bay was decorated top to bottom, every square inch, by artist and playwright Jean Cocteau. The entire interior is a unique work of art, rendered in Cocteau’s familiar style. It’s quite small, so it won’t take you long to enjoy it.
jj gnarls — Google review
I saw a couple leaving the Church 20 minutes before closing. I ran back to my AirBNB to get money for a donation, returned with 15 minutes before closing, and the woman inside told me she was closed. Despite asking, then pleading to let me just look for a quick minute, she refused. She said I could come back another day. I explained to her that it was my last day in France and I would be 6000 miles away - back in Los Angeles - before then. She said no. She was so rude from the moment she saw me come in - and I came in with a beaming smile. What is the world coming to if this is what happens inside a church.

Very nice place to walk and visit while visiting the Dock. Some really colourful exhibitions and a good stroll up a hill and to the Fort. A meeting point for excursions to Monaco 🇲🇨 and Nice before going back to a boat. They're is a figurine museum, an art museum and a historical museum from the era of the second world War. There were also public toilet at the top of the hill. Also some public turrets to look out from to see the view of the sea.

This is not my usual thing as I can take or leave most religious buildings However this little Chapel is stunning Jean Cocteau decorated it in the late 1950s and he painted everything. It's very small, doesn't take long and if you are in Villefranche-sur-Mer I think missing it would be a mistake.

For Cocteau enthusiasts it a must. Also this chapel was featured in Emily in Paris show, but was presented as a place in Saint Tropes(!). Very tiny chapel, not much information inside, so get your Google knowledge first. Tiny part of the Villefranch town is very pleasant for a walk or a drink on a pier. Combine your visit with Cocteau villa or citadel and would have a great time.

Frankly, it's not worth spending 4€pp for a small church with chalk frescos and a lady barking at you. "No photo." Might be my artistic taste is not the finest, but for sure, I do not tolerate such arrogance from a host that just received our money. It is better to spend the money on the nearby cafés.

Located just a street away from the bustling waterfront of Villefranche, Les Garçons is a family-run French bistro offering traditional French cuisine at affordable prices. The restaurant prides itself on its daily changing menu featuring meat and seafood dishes made with locally sourced produce. With a cozy interior and the option to sit outside and people-watch, it offers a great atmosphere for visitors to enjoy their meals.
This was an amazing experience, service was outstanding and the food was from heaven. The atmosphere in their courtyard is so romantic and cozy! A meal to remember by far. I really recommend this restaurant in Villefranche and I will go again if I ever get the opportunity again.

Note that the evening menu is different than the lunch one - in lunch time you have a small section to choose- wish I could had the evening menu… anyway we took the lunch deal with starter main dish and dessert- the price was ok i think 20-25 per lunch, but than they charged for badiot 1 liter 9 euro…

Delicious food and extremely friendly staff. We started with the burrata and loved it, then had the lamb and filet mignon. Everything was fanstastic, then we had the Pavlova for desert and OMG. It was the best thing we had the entire trip. We came back the next day for just another pavlova. Absolutely eat here if you’re spending time in Eze!

It is a cute little place with french fusion cuisine. The food is ok good, but not mind-blowing. The artichoke salad tasted like a grass. Pulpo was full of tastes and portion was good to share. Slower cooked meat was missing a bit of taste.

Food was tasty and presentation was nice. Eating at the terrace was a nice experience overall too. Unfortunately service was not great for us during our visit, our plates took a long time to arrive and were likely forgotten as we sat to see everyone else getting their orders for a while. For a restaurant in this price range and caliber, I also found odd that wine came already in glasses and was not poured from the actual bottle at the table.
Pablo Fernandez Busch — Google review
Amazing service and by far the best food I’ve had on my trip. The staff was ready to help, spoke English French and Italian and made our experience unforgettable - it’s located in the middle of the village which made strolling around after easier. Decent lunch spot. Food is great especially the lunch special. Ordering from the regular menu during the weekend brunch not recommende: expensive and not good. Courtyard is a bit hot even under the full cover of the umbrellas. 3 Waiters work very hard covering 20+ tables: bravo.

Cozy restaurant with a very authentic cuisine located in a very cute outdoor courtyard in the village. Prices are not low but food and wine are high quality: the lamb was perfectly cooked - still our favourite ever since. If you come in summer, prefer dinner rather than lunch because there is no breeze in the street and the temperature can be hot during the day.

I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service level and I did enjoy the lunch menu. The waiter who attended to us took the pains to translate the entire menu to English, was extremely quick and ready to check with us in case we needed anything. The food was great, ordered an appetiser, the main course and dessert. I asked for a medium rare steak and that’s exactly what I got, a perfect medium rare :) I do recommend this place, but it’s incredibly important to be mindful of the opening hours!

Les Garçons was the best restaurant I went to on my trip to the French Rivera. Located in a backstreet of Villefranche-sur-mer, this small restaurant has a great atmosphere. The outdoor courtyard was cozy and vibrant. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful to us English speakers. The food was terrific. Seriously the lamb and steak were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The warm chocolate cake for dessert was also another highlight. Les Garçons is easily a 10/10 for me.

This was the best meal I have had in France. The staff were incredibly accommodating, warm and helpful. The octopus and ceviche starters were some of the best meals I've eaten, the octopus was tender and the ceviche sauce had so much flavor. My main was the beef fillet and the sauce was incredible. Definitely dine here if you are visiting Villefranche, it was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've had.

So happy I found this place based on Google reviews AND that I made a reservation in advance!! I saw people trying to walk in, and there's a long wait, even on a Monday night! The food was amazing. Even the complimentary bread was delicious. I had the prawns, and my dining companions had the steak, and the lamb. Everything was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, and the preparations were lovely!! This stand out of the evening was a grilled octopus. Probably the best I've ever had, and I love girl octopus! Just sad that we didn't have room for dessert 🤣
Karen Rosenthal — Google review
We didn’t have a reservation and waited approx 10-15 mins for a table. Was boiling hot and we asked for tap water with ice. They said they don’t give ice with tap water…..first time I’ve heard that. It then took 15 mins to get a menu after which we were then returned to 10 mins later. So from sitting down to ordering food took nearly 30 mins. We ordered ceviche and calamari salad to start both were excellent especially the ceviche was perfect balance between spice and citrus. Mains we tried the lamb pork and risotto with scallops. The pork was our fave. There is no breeze there so it’s very hot when you sit outside in summer Worth a visit!
Shalin Dewan — Google review
Very difficult to rate this place. This is a tourist eatery so don't expect to sit there for hours over a long French lunch. They want to "flip" your table to the next customer as soon as they can. Food was o.k. but not brilliant... my meat was one third fat and grizzle and it must have been obvious so the chef obviously didn't care. My wife's fish was excellent. Portions were a little on the meagre size. They know that it is unlikely that you will return. Wine was o.k. but pricey. Setting was fabulous.

La Mère Germaine is a historic restaurant in Villefranche-sur-Mer, known for serving fresh seafood since 1938. The establishment has a rich history, attracting local and international clientele, including artists and film stars like Cocteau. With a terrace offering stunning views of the port, it's a popular spot for lunch or a romantic evening. The restaurant offers quality seafood dishes made from very fresh ingredients.
La Mère Germaine is hands down the best restaurant in Villefranche sur Mer, and I’d argue it’s also among the best in Nice - and we stayed in Nice for a week! The food was fresh, beautifully presented and tasted incredible. I’ve been trying to find where they buy their plates from ever since. The view into the bay and marina is breathtaking, the service impeccable and the owner was very warm and welcoming, he even chatted up my youngest daughters who is normally shy with strangers. We enjoyed it so much we went back twice during our stay. The beach is just a 5 minute walk away. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough, we will definitely be back next time we’re in France.

Huge disappointment. Service was slow and very forgetful(we had to ask for everything twice). Food was probably the worst in all France. The tomato salad had tasteless, plastic tomatoes. For mains, we had to wait for over an hour and even followed up with the staff three times. The beef filet (medium) arrived overcooked, burned and barely warm. We skipped the dessert out of frustration to spend more time there. To our bill, they added incorrectly extra items which they cleared later. The table next to us also had a long wait for the mains and sent one plate back for whatever reason. We do not recommend this restaurant. Even if it is the only option available, skip it.

This family-owned restaurant was perfect! We enjoyed Prosecco, freshly caught fish à la plancha (on the grill), fish soup (that was the recipe of the owner’s grandmother!), and delicious soufflé! The owner was very welcoming and explained how his grandmother started the restaurant in 1938. We loved our meal here! Highly recommend!!

Absolutely divine seafood! Very attentive service. The owners wire came to ask after us and told us a bit about the restaurant’s history! Would recommend

We had a beautiful meal here in a very nice setting on the port in Villefranche. The service was perfect. Very attentive and friendly staff. We shared a Turbot main meal with potatoes and vegetables, served with sauces. It was absolutely delicious and the fish was cooked perfectly. Nice wine selection too. This place is quite pricey but very much worth the money. I highly recommend.

EXCELLENT FOOD, SERVICE AND SEA VIEW. THE FISH IS FRESH AND DELICIOUS!

This was a return for my husband and a surprise for me. It was everything he hoped it would be, beside the water of the bay in Villefranche on the French Riviera. Excellent, attentive service and delicious food. My husband chose Sea Bass, cooked and filleted perfectly and I chose the Veal with stir fry and Satay Sauce. Superb. Surprisingly reasonably priced for such lovely surroundings. A real must when you are lucky enough to find yourself docking from a cruise ship and having the time to wander around pretty Villefranche. A little jewel on this coastline.

We had a gorgeous dinner here on our first night in the region. The location is beautiful. The staff were very attentive throughout our meal, and the food was great. Highly recommend the gambas curry.

The place to savor the foods! I made reservation in advance for lunch and we came on a sunny day and have the table right next to the water. Our server, Bruno, was fantastic and answered our questions. The foods came out quite fast and they tasted delicious. Next thing I know, Thierry (the owner) came out introducing him to us and we got a photo with him. This restaurant also has a small boat to ferry clients from their yachts to the restaurant. All in all, the foods, the service, and the location make this place hard to top. Thanks for a fantastic meal. A bientot.

Very professional and nice service. Food is excellent in all ways. We had Foie gras, Palette de la mer, Vongole and Pavlova. Will definitely come back to this adorable place.

A beautiful restaurant right beside the sea. The food are great, lots of flavour, texture & visual appearance. It’s a chef owner operating restaurant. The staffs are very attentive and provided us with great service. Their wine selections are of very high quality. We requested for dessert wine and was offered Beaume de Venise which is off the menu. I will return for sure

I rarely write reviews but this place deserved it. If you want to spoil yourself just go. The only thing better than the food was our server Mehdi. Best meal of our trip (and we had several amazing ones)

The most subtle gourmet sea food restaurant in the area; might visit. I recommend you taste everythind; from seafood soup; to wild fish options you find daily. The service and personal touch is out of this world, the owners will come make sure everything is ok! Lovely to sit in the docks.

L'OURSIN BLEU is a high-quality restaurant located by the sea in Villefranche-sur-Mer, France. The setting is excellent, with outside tables offering a beautiful view of the bay. The food is outstanding and of high gastronomic standard, particularly the fish dishes and Paris-Brest dessert. While prices are on the expensive side, they are not off-putting for a restaurant of this quality.
10/10 Take no notice if previous 1* reviews. Turned up without booking for my wife's birthday and we both had one of the nicest meals out we've ever had; food was exquisite. The steamed hake with crunchy samosas was wonderful The Mediterranean sardines and mixed fish main were both out of this world. Not cheap but we definetly got what we paid for. Our only regret was that we didn't get to try the desserts as we had to make a mad dash for the last train back to Cannes 😁
Richard Hellier — Google review
The location is fantastic in front of the Villefranche's gulf, the fish dishes (soup, sea bass) very good expecially the soup, wonderful the Paris-Brest ... And your question could be: why only four stars? It's easy ... Because the rudeness of the waiter and the nonsense humor of the maitre actually misses the fifth star ... Sorry 🤷
Stefano Innamorati — Google review
Great fish, mediocre desserts, service is so so. We had to wait for 30 minutes just to get water. and it was scorching hot. The sea bass was excellent but le millefeuille and la crème brûlée more than disappointing. The first too sour and 🍋 the other tasteless as if you eat butter. Location is nice but too hot during the day and nosy. Otherwise the 3 -course menu was rather generous and the view over the bay beautiful. It is way better to go there in the evening
Zara — Google review
The rudeness of the waiter is unprecedented. There was a confusion with the reservation made by the restaurant and how the situation was handled was awful. Avoiding this restaurant from now on - despite the food that is very good, hospitality is not a term well known in this place
Adriana Dea Zubi — Google review
This restaurant offers very high standard of service and even higher standard of food. I don't believe I've had better prepared scallops anywhere. Can't even start describing the setting and the view of the sea... Highly recommended, even though a bit more pricey than surrounding restaurants.
Deividas Pinkevicius — Google review
Excellent setting right by the sea. We had an outside table 1 meter from the sea wall and loved the open feeling in summer. The food was simply outstanding and of high gastronomic standard but expensive as one might expect for a restaurant of this quality ..but not so high as to be off putting. The staff I found were welcoming, humorous and friendly ..I did not see the negative behaviour quoted in other reviews. Excellent wines. I would recommend if you can afford the prices.

Our experience at this restaurant was so bad that it's my first time writing a bad review ever! I am a hospitality professional and I have been working in this industry for some time now and I know that everything that happened at this restaurant was unacceptable for the price we have paid at the end!! First of all, all the food we ordered tasted really bad. Paella, fish soup( that was green and had no fish in it, tasted like plastic) and salmon kind of cesar salad that had not fresh vegetable and super salty fish that was impossible to eat Second, I wasn't able to finish even half of the soup and only had one bite of a salad. When a waited came and saw my plate he asked me if I have finished( my plate was full of food since it was impossible to eat) and I said yes I finished and I really didn't like it ( same was with the soup). After working in this industry I know that usually they could at least ask what was bad, or offer me another meal or remove this off the bill. But here no one cares about customers so they just ignored that fact that we didn't eat all our food! And we are not picky and hate the fact of throwing away food. And the last point, almost all restaurants close at 10, however it was our first time when the waiter brings a bill when we were still eating the dessert( that was one more or less good thing during dinner), trying to show us that it's time for us to go. Definitely don't recommend this restaurant!

My wife and I just had a superb meal here. We ordered the Scallop risotto, the Bouillabaisse and the souffle. Everything was perfect.Heck even the table bread was lovely. I recommend booking in advance as the restaurant seems really busy with the locals. I'm not sure why there are 1 star reviews as the staff were very friendly to us and gave good recommendations.
Serban Dragne — Google review
Pretty good food paired with the most obnoxious maitre I’ve ever had the displeasure to encounter. This man oozes the French stereotype of impolite condescension that’s high on its own self-appointed “superior culture”. Watched him harass another table for not ordering wine with the Sea Bass because he’s “French, so he has to ask”.

A must! We had a lovely time and a delicious dinner!! The service and atmosphere is great and the food outstanding. Oyster and gambas plates were particularly delicious. Just make sure to specify a table in the terrace when you make the reservation. Lovely staff and attention. We will come back when we are in the French Riviera. Thank you!

Cozy sit down place. They have their own take on the items. Im forgetting exactly the names of the dishes we tried. Everything was good and made fresh. I gave a 4 star instead of 5 because one of the dishes couldve used a little more seasoning. Nothing major but good food overall. Creme burlee is also very tasty.

We enjoyed an excellent meal with pleasant and responsive service at this restaurant. The food was superb, presented artistically but not overdone and certainly not to take away from the flavour. The restaurant is bright and modern. We enjoyed a chablis, reasonably priced for the quality. the chocolate with coffee ice cream was superb. The overall price very fair given the quality

Second time I had my dinner at this restaurant this week. A place where you just wanna come back! The service is highest level you can imagine with the loveliest and funniest staff. A lot of smile, fun and laughter making the atmosphere relaxed and sublime. You just feel at home here! Candle lights and roses at the tables. The food (I had both starter, main course and dessert) and the wine was simply top notch and at very reasonable prices. I will definitely be back and my warmest recommendations go to this place! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Well tucked away on the little streets of Old Villefranche this is a real hidden gem of the Riviera. The decor is so nice and everything is spotless. The dishes are made with local fresh products and the presentation is very attractive. The wine list is correct and various. The staff was very nice and responsive. And also last but not least the prices are very affordable which is kind of unusual for the South of France.

I definitely would classify this as a hidden gem. Definitely off the typical touristic path. The menu is excellent. The seabass was tremendous. So tender and savory. The foie gras was great, very rich. Would recommend it be served with a less buttery carb to help balance out the situation. Also enjoyed the crème brûlée. They have a lot of seasonal fare and desserts. Everything appeared very fresh. Reservations are required. Don’t miss it. Only 15 minutes from Nice.

We had such an amazing dinner at La Belle Etoile. We had the Filet St Pierre and the duck, which was excellent. The Creme Brulee and the Fish soup was great. The service is great and it’s such an idyllic little restaurant off the tourist trails. Such a hidden gem!

We came here for food, drinks, and a view and the place delivered. The focaccia, bass, octopus, even the bread was so good. Everything was cooked to perfection, would highly recommend getting a table by the sea if you can. We ended the meal off with the cookie, which I do agree with another review that states that it might be the best cookie in France.

The food was good and tasty, the atmosphere is great good views next to the sea, i was surprised because we wanted more focaccia bread and we had to pay extra 8 euros literally for 4 pieces of bread ( the most expensive i have ever seen ),half of the price of the plate !!

Another great lunch at this lovely restaurant/bar. We’ve paid a repeat visit, as we like the laid back vibe (do people still use that word), great food and friendly service. Shout out to our waitress Lola, who was professional and made our experience enjoyable. Go if you have the chance. Laurence and David

Beautiful location, great food. Service needs some work. A busy bar/restaurant but staff are working in circles. We were served by 4 different people, two taking orders and two delivering food. This meant that we were either asked the same question a couple of times but when requesting things like water or the bill it just didn’t happen. Easily fixed but with competition so high in this area I’d not go back.

This is a perfect place to sit by the ocean. The view is stunning but the food and drink are quite so so and also overpriced. But the vibe is great.

Beautiful restaurant right by the water near the beach. Loved the concept of a cozy beach bar. The team was very warm hearted and we felt very welcome. We ordered the gyoza (extremely good), tuna tartare on sushi rice, tacos and pulpo. The lavender cheesecake with blueberries was quite special. They also serve fancy cocktails and they have a cozy lounge area for guests enjoying drinks. Everything was made with love.

Had a wonderful and sunny experience at this place. We wanted to be so close to the water that we actually had the opportunity to get splashed by waves while getting served . Staff was friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious unlike in plenty other restaurants in Cote d'Azur where you have to pay just the expensive air you're breathing. I would recommend this restaurant who feels like getting a 10 minutes train trip from Nice for some nice food, drinks and scenery...
