Came here with my boyfriend for two nights. Their prices are incredibly convenient - that's what allowed us to come to Echternach to begin with. Keep in mind that you'll have to bring your own towels, soap and whatever else you may need, you'll have to make your own bed and you may be sharing the room with strangers. If you want a luxury hotel room just for you in the centre of Echternach, this is not the place for you. But if like us you're looking for a cheap option where to sleep and then go out and about, this place is absolutely perfect! The reception was very nice and helpful, the breakfast they offer is also quite good, and the area where it's located is gorgeous to say the least. However, that's also kind of its weakest spot, at least personally. It's a bit out of the city, which gave us a bit of a headache to find connections to. We only visited the restaurant. This restaurant needs a plan... urgently ! The system is a complete mess ! Nothing works ! Waiters/waitresses are running around with plates, hoping that someone recognizes the dish what he/she has ordered. We ordered one week menu (11.50 euro) and 7 hot dogs. The week menu was delivered within 5 minutes. For 11.50 euro's, I cannot give any comment; any food is good for 11.50euro's, even dogfood ! Actualy, it tasted like dogfood. For the hotdogs, we had to wait 1 hour. After 3 complaints, the hotdogs were served. No saucage in a sandwich, but a sausage between 2 regular slices of bread. This was just disgusting ! We asked and got our money back. I felt sorry for the waitress who was serving us. She was just doing her best in a real bad restaurant-system that urgently needs an update. My advice : close this restaurant and find a system that works. Then - and only then - open again. For the polite waitress who was serving us : quit this job and find a job in a restaurant that is respecting your skills !

They have beach volley and climbing facilities, a pretty nice breakfast (coffee, hot chocolate, cereals, bread and spreads, fruit), and the place was insanely clean! Manager goes the extra mile. We came with an understanding that we could do some activity at the hostel. She made sure she did everything she could to make things work.

Rooms are dirty, dirt was found on and under beds. Bugs were in corners of the room. The bathroom tap doesn’t work well and the bin wasn’t emptied before I got in. Certain areas smell and it’s at the border, distanced from everything else.

Like all youth hostels in Luxembourg, staff are super friendly, everything is clean, and the accommodation is nice. Beautiful lake and especially the climbing wall and the trainers ensure full safety and a super experience for young and old.

Was really surprised by this restaurant! They have a great patio for outdoor dining. The food was amazing. We got an amuse Bouche, beef Carpaccio as an appetizer, seafood risotto and entrecôte as mains, and I got the lava cake with port wine ice cream for dessert. It was my birthday and the surprised me with this awesome little sparkler! The food is all presented so artfully and beautifully, you can tell they take pride in their food. The service is slow but I wasn’t in a rush (took about 3 hours for the 3 courses).

First of all...the review that said Grimougi is the hidden gem of Echternach was spot on!!!!! Lunch started off with an amuse bouche of potato soup and a salmon with dill paste number. Yum yum yum! I gave our server a description of the drink I was looking for and she matched my request perfectly with something on the drink menu. She has skills. I ordered the mushroom risotto and a prawn dish with like a beurre blanc sauce!!! So yummy. A friend of mine had the salmon ceviche and another had the beef filet. Everybody loved their food!!!

What a nice surprise this friendly restaurant in Echternach. Very friendly waiters, and we really enjoyed our diner. The place is not really big, so you should probably make reservations in the summer holidays. I had Salade GriMouGi as starter, and Brochette de filet de Saumon (skewer of salmon fillet) as main dish, both presented in a pleasant way. A small soup and a little snack were presented as appetizers, both really nice. A very nice salad. The salmon dish had big junks of perfectly cooked salmon, and accompanied with lots of veggies. The price tag was also really OK. When in Echternach a next time we would certainly come here again.

Do not go here, total waste of your evening. Extreme unfriendly personnel. Served many people before us even though they ordered later. When we confronted the waiter he admitted that he made a mistake, but couldn’t say sorry. We stumbled on this place by chance. Service, cocktails and food was first class. It was really busy but service was friendly and efficient. I had steak, my partner had veal. Both dishes were excellent. I like steak well done and often that means the kitchen ruins it. This was done perfectly, not dry at all. Highly recommended

Great Italian restaurant with a very friendly staff.

Had the gorgonzola steak. It was simply awesome. So full of flavor that it makes my mouth water just to think back to it. Nice big piece and good amount of fries came with it. Price very reasonable at 32 euro. For cheeses pizza was already okay although a little less special. Staff friendly but incredibly hasty which gives the place a bit unrelaxed atmosphere. English spoken only with a few words by a few of the staff. Will definitely visit again sometime.

People at the hotel are all really nice! Very clean and comfortable room in the central location. Breakfast is common European style continental breakfast! We really enjoy staying here.

Been going here for years and it’s always a nice treat. Wheater it is a romantic date with your partner or a family celebration, Au Vieux Moulin Restaurant and Hotel is a wonderful place to make some nice memories. Service staff is friendly and respectful. The dishes are tasty and put seasonal ingredients to the forefront. Don’t skip on the desserts, they are wonderful! Overall one of the nicer dining places near Müllerthal. Highly recommended.

Try the foie gras. They do it really well. Definitely worth a visit! If you have the chance to eat on the patio, they have a very nice pond with waterfall.

We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly return again if we come to Luxembourg. The hotel is in a nice location, very close to the towns of Echternach and Berdorf with excellent restaurant choices nearby. The service at Hotel Au Vieux Moulin was excellent, the lady at reception was very friendly, attentive and catered to our wishes with genuine kindness. The bed was very comfortable and our room had a spa bath which was great after the whole day of hiking in Mullerthal area. The hikes were great, the food in the area was excellent and service was very friendly and genuine (nice change from Amsterdam). We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, but had a couple of Dame Blanches made for us to have on the terrace which we absolutely loved. Based on that we'd say trying hotel's restaurant is recommended (if you have the budget for it). The only small thing we'd recommend to improve is having some fresh berries, fruit or vegetables at the breakfast buffet.

Overpriced! The view on the lake is beautiful but the food is underwhelming! The portions where pretty small, got served cold and the taste was also no revelation! For that price I expected more! Even though, I mentioned to the server that the food was cold, there was not even an apology! In conclusion, don't waste your money on the food, just get a drink and enjoy the view!

The restaurant has a nice view and is very modern but that does not make them starcooks asking those tremendous prices!!! Main dishes are served in ridiculous portions, and it is not even that good. We all went home hungry!!! Starters are not bigger than an egg, starting at around 20€! Main dishes around 30€ an desserts around 20€ as well. It is a nice wedding location e.g. but I will never come back.

In order to select the perfect place for our wedding meal, we planned an extended lunch, we stopped by this gem. Although we only had a cold drink we were served quickly, politely, in three languages. The view over the lake from the splendid terrace is magnificent, so we selected it for the big day. We reserved a table for 7 in the shade as a hot day was forecast. We were given the choice to select from their menu or we could ask for something to or own liking. On arrival everything was as expected, waiting for us. The service was absolutely perfect, attentive but not in your face, quick, clean, and without fault. The wine menu (without counting) showed close to 100 different wines. When we asked for a recommendation we received one including reasoning, so not just a sales pitch. One particular small dish has some alcohol in it, one of or guests didn't like that and without hesitation was offered an alternative very quickly. The food was perfectly cooked, tasted absolutely fantastic, and its presentation was gorgeous. A five course wedding meal including champagne, wine, coffee, digestive for 6 people for about €500 and perfect service is not too much. We would come here again and recommend it wholeheartedly.

Definitely one of the best views! Awesome cocktails, modern french cuisine creatively arranged on fancy plates, making your tongue explode. On the picture you can see "Cochon de lait, échalote, jus de chou, choucroute grillée". A glorious dish of tenderness and a taste giving you a wow-effect. As always, for dessert, I took the "Häremillen gourmand" as I need a lot of variety. If I can give you an advice, when it's hit outside, replace your café by a "Café glacée"! It's not marked on their menu but you can ask for it. Definitely worth for those who can waive on the quantities and prefer quality! It was a great visit and I forsure will come back.

We stopped by on a Sunday 4:30 pm for a bite and some drinks. The place was empty but they wanted to keep all the tables empty and placed us in the worst location. We were just two people. They also refused to have us sit at empty tables because they were for 4 people. Kitchen was closed for meals so we had some side dishes. They were rude and entitled. By the time we left it was even emptier. For an overpriced entry level quality place they should at least be normal, if not extra accommodating. Anyway, it is the standard Luxembourgish experience, so not surprised at all.
