Sights & Landmarks
Hatfield House is a grand Jacobean country home located in Hertfordshire, England. Built in the 17th century on the site of Queen Elizabeth I's childhood home and later used as a prison for Queen Mary, it has been the family residence of the Cecils ever since. The estate boasts lush gardens and a farm, making it an ideal destination for those who appreciate stately homes with historical significance.
Fabulous visit and I can not say enough about the staff / volunteers working there! Just very much customer service oriented and very helpful too. We loved our visit and enjoyed every bit of it. There are shops with various items and even a pet grooming service. The restaurant is huge with outdoor and indoor sitting. We had cake and coffee and tea. The house was not open unfortunately so we will have to go back to visit. We took the guided tour and the tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable so if you have time I would recommend the guided tour.

A peaceful afternoon spent in a splendid location. The house itself is incredibly well looked and immaculate. The guides in each room are very helpful and more than happy to share their knowledge from the paintings, to which films and TV shows have been filmed at the house. The views from the house are beautiful and gardens incredibly well looked after. It wasn't busy at all and we could walk around at our own pace. Will certainly be visiting again.

I recently visited Hatfield House and Gardens, a captivating private-run estate that seamlessly blends history and natural beauty. The meticulously maintained gardens provided a picturesque backdrop to the stunning historic house. The private touch added a sense of exclusivity, making the experience truly special. To top it off, the lovely on-site cafe offered a delightful culinary experience, making my visit to Hatfield House a perfect day of cultural exploration and relaxation.

We visited on Saturday for charity. Luckily weather was beautiful sunshine. We couldn’t go inside house they open for summer on April. But lots of flowers and still beautiful!!! We may come back for summer time ! We had a great fun weekend. And they have lots of car parking available.

Beautiful place to visit. Lovely to chat to guides around the house. The gardens are very pretty. It was too hot to explore them properly. But plenty of shade to sit and have a picnic. Nice cafe/restaurant. Finished off with a very tasty ice-cream.

Very disappointing "Christmas" Revels. Nothing festive about it. A few strange looking statues with animal heads and a look around a kitchen. No christmas stalls or decorations. Food inside was just as bad, tasteless and overpriced. If you are thinking of buying tickets, seriously don't bother.

Fabulous historical house. Stunning gardens. Steeped in history. Staff were great…very knowledgeable and passionate about Hatfield House and it’s past. Grounds are extensive. Well worth a visit.
Nicole Marshall — Google review
A beautiful stately house with lovely out buildings and extensive grounds. Staff are courteous and the catering is tasty and reliable. Plus there are a few shops. We spent a day in conference (actually our second time, as it's an annual conference and we enjoyed the previous year so much the organisers chose to return). The house was closed but we had a nice half hour stroll in the grounds on a sunny autumn day. Lovely colours and a deep blue sky.

What a amazing experience at Hatfield house, I would like to say thank you for all the guides around the house, especially to Mr Dermont for the lovely conversation. Definitely this place is on my top 5! I highly recommend to everyone!!! Amazing architecture, the garden is fabulous, all the house is incredible! Oh, the library was my favourite 📚 Thanks!!!

Visited the Christmas Revels experience. It was very nicely done, but so little of it. Even at a leisurely pace, 30mins covered the event. £90+ for 3 adults and a car, poor value.

A beautiful and interesting place for a wonderful day out to a historical place of significance. The gardens are beautifully maintained, lovely to walk around, and the house has a lot of heritage features from various eras of Tudor, Stuarts, Edwardian and Victorian years. The staff are very well informed about the importance and meaning of all the various artworks including significant Elizabeth I portraits and furnishings within the house. The woodland walks look very adventurous. We went during a weekday and the place was not crowded. The ticket prices are a little steep but there are different concessions available and offers with train partnerships that can help with costs but definitely worth the visit.

Absolutely beautiful!! It was a gorgeous summer’s day and we explored as much as we could. The gardens are manicured and so well looked after. My favorite!! The house was so interesting with a guide to help explain whenever required. You could easily spend the entire day here wondering the grounds or inspecting the interior of the house. I’ve visited Hertfordshire for the last 20 years and this is the first time I’ve visited Hatfield House - I will definitely be visiting again!! Thank you to the family for welcoming visitors!!

Very interesting place for a visit. Wasn't too busy when we arrived around 11am on a Sunday. Each room in the house has a well informed guide only too eager to help answer any questions you might have. It was a bit pricey compared to other historical buildings we visited at £22 per person for the house and gardens. The gardens were beautiful but only one section is open to public so it was quite small for the price. Overall though happy we went.

Very disappointing "Christmas" Revels. Not very festive at all . A few statues with animal heads and a look around a kitchen/courtyard . Not really as described on website .We like to support Hatfield House atleast Weekly and this event was a let-down . Overpriced for what was offered

Brilliant storytelling by Dermot, the guide, who has been there for decades, and his knowledge of the house and its history is unmatched. Most definitely worth the fee.

Shopped all day got plenty of bargains fantastic place to shop with little ones, they can hire a kiddy car that you push around for shopping. Also ride some dinosaurs in Dino Park, and there is a soft play in the middle ...

I had the chance to visit the Galleria mall while I was in the UK, and I have to say it was an incredible experience. With two floors of shops, the mall provided a variety of shopping opportunities all under one roof and was immaculately clean. Shopping at Choice and Marks & Spencer was really fun for me. I enjoyed looking over their offerings and bought a few items of clothing after having a nice day. Overall, if you find yourself in the UK, I heartily suggest a trip to the Galleria in Hatfield. It's a fantastic area to shop, and the assortment of stores and level of cleanliness elevate the experience to the top tier.

It’s really big, lots of stores, lots of options for a great shopping, enough parking spaces, eateries and so much more
Ekundayo Olafare — Google review
I’ve known this place for two decades and it’s sad to see the decline of such a wonderful place with a great location. The Galleria used to be full of amazing shops, great restaurants and unique activities. Unfortunately, there are many empty shops, the usual chain restaurants and nothing really driving customers to the mall. The parking use to be free and now it’s paid. During weekdays, it’s mainly either empty or inhabited by student from the local university

Visited a long time after my first visit with friends. Lack of consumers apparent. Had.a good stroll around. Shops appear to be struggling here like the high streets in many places Needs something to liven it up and draw in customers. Car park, children's areas are good.
Bernardine Duru — Google review
Well known brand shops, good selection of food restaurants and a soft play area for the kids at the ground floor, nice place 👍
Joni Perez — Google review
Love a good mouch here. Some days I go home with loads of different finds and some days with nothing. The parking is cheap (get a Galleria card) and good coffee shops and restaurants too. There is soft play, the cinema is also attached to it so something for everyone
Maria Evans — Google review
A Pleasurable Shopping and Entertainment Hub The Galleria in Hatfield offers a delightful blend of shopping and entertainment, making it a go-to destination in the area. With its diverse range of stores, from high-street fashion to specialty shops, there’s something for everyone here. I found great deals at several outlets, which was a pleasant surprise. The ambiance of the mall is inviting, with a layout that's easy to navigate. It's spacious enough to accommodate weekend crowds without feeling too crowded. The cleanliness and general upkeep of the facilities are commendable. Dining options are varied, catering to a range of tastes and preferences. Whether it’s a quick snack or a leisurely meal, the choices are ample. Additionally, the cinema on-site offers a good selection of movies, making it a perfect spot for a family outing or a casual evening with friends. Customer service throughout The Galleria is generally good, with staff members being helpful and courteous. However, I did experience some delays in a few stores, possibly due to understaffing. Parking is convenient, but it can get a bit crowded during peak times. While this is expected, it's something to keep in mind when planning a visit. In conclusion, The Galleria in Hatfield is a great destination for a day of shopping, dining, and entertainment. It provides a pleasant experience with just a few minor areas for improvement. Definitely worth a visit whether you're a local or just passing through.

Haven't been here in a few years, and the place seems slightly less busy than it used to be, but there's still some decent shopping to be had here. Good job, Galleria!! 👍

A decent place to chill. It's also a shopper's paradise offering diverse stores, inviting ambiance, and a range of dining and entertainment options. Its spacious layout, attentive staff, and cleanliness ensure a pleasant experience for all visitors, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists seeking a memorable shopping experience.

The gallery is a shopping center for brands, at discount prices. The location is convenient, right on the M1 motorway. Spacious parking lots, of 7 floors. Parking is paid through the app, very convenient. The place has a huge and successful playground to keep the kids busy. At the moment there are several stores closed. Most shops are open. There are discount branches of Skechers shoes, Clark shoes. In clothes there is a large M&S store. A good discount brand store, T K MAXX. Sports shops, shops for camping and extreme trips. A lot of cosmetic shops, perfumes.... a bookstore at a discount. Of course, for those who get tired, there is a huge coffee shop of the Costa Coffee chain. There is a bridge over the road, which leads to the wing of the cinemas and restaurants. On Saturday at noon the place was crowded with diners.
Mimi Sharon — Google review
In my opinion it's a strange place with absolutely no atmosphere and not a very good range of shops. It is not surprising in the times we live in as the World Wide Web has destroyed the high street shopping experience. Enough of my rant make your own mind up if you can be bothered to make a visit.
Robert Holman — Google review
Lots of outlet and the prices are attractive. Best part is the kids can go play in the GET WILD, you meet to pay a bit but the prices are good. Car park has a lot of slot.

A few decent shops that offer good value for money on clothes if you catch it right on the day. Never normally come away empty handed. Nice food places after all the shopping or cinema or kids places for them to let of some steam

Outdoor Activities
Stanborough Park is a picturesque countryside park situated in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, covering a vast area of 126 acres. This riverside green area boasts two lakes and a watersports center which offers activities such as top ropes and pedalos. Visitors can also enjoy the walking trails and stop at the cafe for refreshments. Additionally, there are changing rooms available for visitors' convenience. The park has received positive reviews due to its cleanliness and ease of payment through their app system.
We visited Stanborough Park with friends and was really impressed. The splash park was a big hit and is a fantastic size. The lake and brooks were lovely and great to paddle in. Though we didn't go to it, there was an incredible looking high ropes course which we'll definitely return for. The grounds were tidy with very little rubbish about. There was ample parking (even though a little pricey but where isn't these days) and a small tuck shop to get snacks and refreshments from. Absolutely somewhere we shall return to.

Visited a few times and it gets better each time. Parking on site and lot of grass area for picnics. Parking is £10 for 24hour via y-pay app. Loads of spaces. It has a water area for kids and changing room / toilet which very clean and tidy. The okay area great also. Ice-cream and hot drinks available. They have peddle boats available so great for the kids and you get nice pictures. Overall a great day and if you haven’t been, make sure you go.

£6 for 3 hrs parking, Years ago water was cleaner and there was monster carp in boating lake, not no more. Nice to pass couple of hours though.

Stanborough Park is GREAT. We used it as a meet in the middle for long distance friends today. The park was fun, the splash pad was played in most of the day, the area was litter free. The other stuff looked good too, top ropes and pedalos. The coffee hub was nice, there were changing rooms too and it's very easy to pay when you download the app. We will definitely be coming back
Danielle Shirley — Google review
Lovely park, great for kids with water splash & zip lining activities. Pedal boating is there too but staggered water in the lake is too dirty to do boating. £10 parking for a day

Stanborough Park is a delightful escape nestled in the heart of nature, offering a tranquil and picturesque setting that is ideal for a day out. The park's two lakes provide a scenic backdrop and are perfect for leisurely walks or more energetic activities like rowing and fishing. The well-maintained paths and green spaces are a joy for walkers and joggers alike, and there's plenty of room for children to play and explore. One of the highlights of Stanborough Park is its accessibility and family-friendly atmosphere. The park offers ample parking, and the facilities, including clean restrooms and picnic areas, are well-kept. For families, the playground is a hit with the kids, and there's enough space for everyone to enjoy without feeling overcrowded. While the park is generally well-maintained, some areas could benefit from a little extra attention, particularly during the busier months. Additionally, while the café provides a nice spot to relax and refuel, the selection and quality of food and drinks could be improved. Overall, Stanborough Park earns a solid four stars for its beautiful setting, range of activities, and commitment to providing a welcoming environment for visitors of all ages. It's a great spot for those looking to spend a day in the outdoors without straying too far from the conveniences of the city.

I grew up spending hours In the river at stanborough. Visiting after a long time, I couldn't resist a visit. Taking a walk down memory lane, things have changed. The lake was very clear, no fish to be seen though, lots of activities and a pleasant place to relax, picnic and play. They have water sports, high ropes and more. Still a lovely place to visit.
Colita Dainton — Google review
First time here and we will deffinatley be coming back. A lovely walk around both lakes with a coffee from the cafe. There is plenty for the kids and adults to do or see. I would have given five stars but six pounds for three hours parking is a bit steep by any standards considering how popular this place is. That said I would recommend.
Desmond Boyle — Google review
Great day out. Managed to take a pedalo out for the little man's first boat adventure! I felt that there needs to be more bins to help visitors stop littering, but all in all had a lovely day

Lovely park, with bird friendly water, lots of Swans, Ducks, Geese and a few Heron's dotted about. Parking was ok, the card machine worked on them, so was able to avoid the app trouble from some other reviews.

This is really very big family park. My kids love to go and feed ducks and swans here
Nabeela T — Google review
Lovely park. Lots of parking spaces on a nice warm day. Lovely water park/play area for children. Snack stand with drinks and ice cream and 5 or 6 picnic tables. Nice bridge to walk over the river to the lake where there are pedalos and a lovely big walk around the lake. In an hour we had got less than half way taking a leisurely stroll and sitting on the park benches watching the wildlife. Great time here for all ages and the dogs loved the walk. Would definitely go here again and pay for longer on the parking ticket to walk the whole lake
Lianne C — Google review
Parking is not free, even as a full member of Better gyms so that was rather annoying to pay £6 just for parking. We walked around the lakes, were put off the boating because that was expensive, the high ropes thing was also extortionately expensive. And then to top it all off we walked into the half empty Italian restaurant only to be told we would have to wait half an hour for a table to become free??? It was literally half empty!! We left, drove into town, and had a great meal in a Turkish restaurant instead.
Yigal “Iggy” Raymond — Google review
Absolutely love this place! With 4 children of various ages to entertain this place was perfect. They also had a fun fair.
Katie Costello — Google review
Very lovely wildlife , beautiful water , a real breathe easy green space.
Ros Davidson — Google review
What a lovely park. Visited midweek whilst the kids were at school, so there was plenty of available parking. The toilets were really clean. Walked around the boating lake, which was both peaceful and relaxing. Stopped off at the cafe for a bite to eat and a coffee. It was reasonably priced and quite tasty. There are lots for the kids to do. Home schoolers were paddle boarding during our visit, which looked great fun. Passed a water park as well. A few toddlers braved the nippy weather today. Overall, this is a beautifully kept park with many activities and one that I will certainly be visiting again.
Nicole Marshall — Google review
Very nice place, Only managed to explore part of the park. You can buy duck feed for £1.40 and you do get a decent amount, if you throw the feed off the bridge at the car park, the fishes rush to get them. But be careful of the geese they have no issues eating out of your hand or following you. Had one swan go after my leg and hiss at me as i did not give it enough. Best time to go in the morning before anyone has any chance to feed any of the wildlife. Pedal boats are nice but can be tiring, make sure you have the energy and some good legs. There is also a nice player area for the younger kids, my nephew did not want to leave the play area.
Mohammed Islam — Google review
Stanborough Park is an absolute gem of a park that truly has it all. From the beautiful ducks swimming in the ponds to the awesome outdoor gym, this park has something for everyone. The water park is a hit with the kids, and the fact that it's all available free of charge is just the cherry on top. I love coming here with my family for a picnic, feeding the ducks, and enjoying a fun workout at the outdoor gym. The park is always clean and well-maintained, and the snack bar has a great selection of treats to keep us fueled up throughout the day. If you're looking for a perfect day out in nature, look no further than Stanborough Park. This park truly has it all and I can't recommend it enough. Five stars all the way!

Playground
Willows Activity Farm is a farm that features attractions such as an adventure playground, a petting zoo with guinea pigs and rabbits, a bouncy haystack area, fun fair rides, and pumpkin patches. It also has indoor soft play areas for younger children.
A really great place for younger children with plenty to see and do. Not particularly inexpensive but everything is included except food and drink or souvenirs. The rides are good and the tractor and trailer ride is a great singalong experience for kids. The enclosed barn with donkeys, cows, sheep and goats to hand feed is good experience and also has a small enclosure for children to handle and stroke very tame small animals. The Peter Rabbit and friends theme runs throughout and the "real" characters do meet and greet and performances on site.
Derek Williams — Google review
My friends little girl absolutely worships Peter Rabbit, so we decided to visit here for the day so Ava could live her best life with the love of her life! Even though the farm is definitely geared towards little people, my friend and I had just as much fun as Ava did. There’s so much to see and do, that it’s definitely worth getting here early and spending the whole day enjoying the various available activities. We all loved meeting and feeding the animals. Personally I’m a huge fan of small farms; it’s a great environment to introduce children to animals, and cultivate a lifelong love and respect for our furry friends. You could tell the animals were well cared for, and you could see the love staff had for them. The indoor play barn was a lot of fun, but Peter Rabbit’s Adventure Playground was definitely the winner in terms of play area. Highlight of the day was Ava getting to meet her beloved Peter Rabbit! My personal highlight (apart from feeding the animals) was a much appreciated caramel latte! Food was okay, not fantastic, but it did the trick. Loved visiting the gift shop too - lots of lovely paraphernalia to purchase. Kudos to all the staff here who work so hard to ensure the children have a magical day to remember.

Great day out, suggest arriving for opening as it truly is a whole day out. Worth every penny, as we arrived at 11am and still didn't cover everything before closing. Stage shows and character meet and greets are fun and engaging. We will be back again for sure. Softplay and little village are great to escape the sun or rain for an hour or so.
James Maslin — Google review
Plenty for young children to do, they can have fun feeding the farm animals or petting the smaller animals. Rides for little ones, tractor ride. Cafe and soft play area. If the sun was out would have been even better.

I can say there is the best activity farm in UK. We went to there with my son’s classmate family and have been there all day. Nice playgrounds, beautiful soft play area. We just doesn’t like cafe. All food was cold and not delicious. Don’t forget to ride the train

Took my daughter and son there on a school trip. We had so much fun. There are loads of activities to do both indoor and outdoor. There is plenty to choose from. You find different animals that the kids can enjoy petting and feeding, a tractor ride and other different rides. There is plenty of space to sit and eat and their toilets are clean.

This place was incredible and so much fun for the kids. The park is what they fell in love with the most (that and they got to hold a Guinea pig. I just wish it was more affordable. A family of 4 cost us £100. Not something I could do often.

Visiting Willow farm with your family is an absolute blast! It's such a gorgeous farm with loads of fun things to do. From the little playground to the massive sandpit, bouncy castles, and trampolines, there's something for everyone here. Your kids will love the huge area where they can ride diggers and play to their hearts' content. And if that's not enough, the soft play area is sure to be a hit with your little ones, complete with a cafeteria where you can grab a bite to eat and relax with your family. The best santa experience ever! There is a lot to keep you and your kids entertained whilst you are waiting to see santa. Mrs Claus welcomed us in and offered to take a photo with my daughter, which was lovely. The elves were dancing around and throwing pretend snow around. Whilst this was lovely, I saw some of the flakes went into the kids' eyes, and the parents had to help them out. There's lots of decorations like carriage, sleigh, and Christmas trees to see as you're waiting and take lovely photos with your kids. Once we got to Santa, my daughter really enjoyed her time chatting to him. She went to the toy shop and excitedly chose her gift. We purchased some lovely photos. The gingerbread man and teddy bear workshop were fantastic. My daughter really loved making her teddy bear who she has not let go of since she got it, and she really enjoyed decorating her gingerbread and eating it! She enjoyed the rides outside. I will definitely be coming back next year and definitely recommend this to other parents, too! I would definitely go early as the wait time tonsee Santa is nearly 2 hours and so you are not rushing around afterwards to get the other activities done!

Came here for the Santa/Christmas event and it was fantastic. As well as visiting Santa and getting a gift, the littleuns had the opportunity to decorate gingerbread, make a gift sleigh and build their own Christmas or Peter Rabbit soft toy. The grotto itself was decorated to a top class level and the staff were very engaging and friendly. All in all, a great experience.

Fantastic day out for little ones. There's lots to do outside and inside which is good in case the weather is bad. A good balance of activities, rides, shows as well as animals to pet and feed (less about the animals and more about activities however). Animal feed is very well priced at a £1 and 2 cafes have sufficient food/drink/coffee at reasonable prices - not too high as expected at these places. Ticket price includes access to all activities and rides including tractor ride so no hidden costs once you're there. Soft play inside one of the cafes and can get extremely busy especially at lunch time - I'd say go early. I went a few times before deciding to get an annual pass and think it's an excellent place. They always keep things interesting by changing shows, putting on different events such as maize maze, potato/pumpkin picking, foam party, different music/songs on tractor, dinosaur dig, egg hunt etc. Plenty of places for picnics with benches with cover too. Staff are very good at making sure parents/children stick to the rules. Nothing worse than having much older kids join the younger (under 2s) soft play or bouncy castle or bouncy pillows when you have a small toddler/baby which could be knocked over. Staff are always friendly and work hard to keep the place clean and tidy. I'd say more suited to younger children maybe 1-6 but certainly fun for all the family.

Shame to start with a negative, but the entry to the site WITH a pre purchased ticket was very slow! We took 30-40mins to get our wristband and get through. However once inside the variety of activities was superb! Site was very clean throughout. Staff were friendly. The shows were great both my 4 and 9yr loved. Piggy race was hilarious. Play areas were varied and wide spread. Craft tent was a hit! We didn't get time to visit everything and had a thoroughly enjoyable 4.5 hours! We will need to visit again!

It is a lovely farm. Facilities is good enough, good for family with kids. Toilet is clean and warm. The restaurant doesn’t open when we visited, but provides microwave to heat the foods for kids.

Best place to take the family for a day trip. We pre booked the Christmas event which had, shows, movies, arts crafts, santa, that's without the usual animals and adventure playgrounds. Well worth booking at least once for your children.

I'd love to! Here's your review: --- "Visiting Willows Activity Farm with my family was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The farm offers a fantastic range of activities for all ages, from feeding animals to tractor rides and indoor play areas. The highlight for us was the interactive animal encounters, where we got up close and personal with some adorable creatures. The farm is impeccably maintained, with clean facilities and well-kept grounds. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do, adding to the overall enjoyment of our visit. One thing to note is that the farm can get quite busy, especially during peak times, so it's worth arriving early to make the most of your day. Overall, Willows Activity Farm provided a perfect day out for the whole family, and we can't wait to visit again!"

I enjoyed the period I studied at the University of Hertfordshire, the tutors were very supportive and the modules were relevant. The professors were vast in their experience, had industry knowledge and highly qualified.

I went to this uni from 2019-2021. I stayed in accommodation for three years, the first year no issues, the second year structural issues with my room with the door coming off, the man said that the uni rushed building some of the accommodation and built it cheap, they had nailed the door into the foam not the wood. It felt that the uni was always trying to get more money out of you, with accommodation charges left right and Center for sometimes unfair things. For my third year my flat managed to fight it but they had to literally argue with the accommodation team for a long time over a fire extinguisher tag which was broken when we got their that they tried to charge us each £15 a flat of 12. Similar things happened to my other friends in telford, they didn’t really fight it so ended up paying which the uni probably expects some students to be like, easy money grab. I came to this uni because of the high employment rate they said for my course, currently the people around me mostly did not make it into the industry I was studying in with maybe three or four people out of around 20. Some people I know have had to get jobs in retail. My course was mixed it had some good lectures that I enjoyed and also some appalling lectures that deviated from the course content or that felt more like a joke at occasions. The campus is the main selling point at the uni, having been around other universities, it does have a good campus pub and I did have more of a social life than other people I know at other unis. The shopping Center is not too far away just eatery places. The train station is about 45 minute walk from college lane, the busses are bad it takes an hr, it was better for me just to take a taxi. St Albans was where all the fun was at, we had to get a taxi a lot of the times but it’s a lot nicer than hatfield and has things to do there, the bus is an hour the taxi 15 minutes. Or if u have a car 15 minutes with parking. Personally as a uk based student, I had some issues with some international students, with my international partner at the time from India. She experienced stalking, sexual assault (forum) and unwanted behaviour around campus. It isn’t reported cause that community had normalised that behaviour and see it as normal, I wanted to mention that I think the uni should do more for women’s safety on campus. There should be a leaflet or note on, how we treat women . International students are the ones that pay more, but it seems that they had a hard time dealing with financial or other issues with the uni. For their joining day on campus there was no directions on where to go, or signs. When the uk students came there was directions everywhere and more support that was just one issue. An international student who went here could probably list more. She has one experience where she was stalked from campus to asda and back and had to go to reception to get away. The night club also had an issue with spiking at the time. Overall I would rate this uni a 2.5 out of 5, experience wise it was worth it, I had a nice time even during covid, it has a nice campus and St Albans and London is not too far with a taxi or Uber. Employment wise it wasn’t worth it could have done an apprenticeship or worked and saved my money. Education wise I don’t think it was worth it, me and my mate felt we learnt more at college than we did at uni. Campus wise it was worth it, good campus better than other unis.

I graduated from this university and I have had the best experience. Memories that will never be forgotten. And now I am happy and successful man. I definitely recommend this uni amazing from the level of teaching to facilities, parties and accommodations. 5 star in every way.

Next to Oxford 'nd Cambridge, Durham, St Andrew's, and the Red Bricks, UH compares brilliantly well, and stands tall alongside other newer British universities. It's catchment area stretches across the Home Counties and Greater London, in particular. The Science Bldg, Library and Law Faculty will blow you over, and it's magnetic attraction to bright students of Southeast Asian and African origins is splendidly refreshing indeed. Great pleasure to be associated with this forward-looking Ivory Tower.

It's the best college. I am applying now I checked all the international students requirements details. I am so happy and exited to apply in this college. What I like mostly about this college is they are giving chance to every student and encouraging them to be better in coming days and that's the real spirit which all the educational institutions should have. 👏👏👏👏👏

A perfect university with a lot of facilities. Indeed a good university and apart from that the extra curriculum activities is also something which they focus more on. So, hats off to the management and the staff of the university, without whom this could have been impossible.

From February onwards i was looking for responds from the university. All they said was we have high volume of emails so it takes long time, are they saying to wait till September so that i can loose one year? Time is precious for everyone not only for university, some students may loose their one year just because the university takes too long to respond. If you guys have high volume of emails just make a big team rather than blaming it on applicants. Someone i known lost his chance because university responded in last minutes.

A drive at 2pm stepping inside the filthy rich greenery campus even at the age of 45 gave goosebumps to me not as a student but as a representative for University of Hertfordshire by sending numerous students to study all these 22 years!! 🟠🔴⚪️ The campus is absolutely an envy to the eyes! Aesthetically designed and maintained campus with all facilities an ideal campus should have! Congratulations and wishes to every candidates here. 🟡🟣

What is the point of coming to open open-day University with your son or daughter? To see from close where your son or daughter will study. Something which this University doesn't offer. We have been to four open-day universities and in none of them we have this experience. Why this University is separating students and parents? 🤷‍♂️Are they hiding anything? 🤔 We have been told this is to make the students feel free and independent. Hmmm. Well, so far students rely on us financially and will rely on us until they find work so to alienate us (parents) from seeing the university is wrong and in my opinion they are pushing us away. Very disappointed with the experience.

It's was the hard time for everyone last year due to pandemic most of the classes were online and now this semester September 2021 is a combination of both online and offline and it's a fun for me attending both the things and tutor are delivering the subject each way and I am delighted being a part of Hertfordshire. The tutor are friendly, environment is pleasant, this place cover cafeteria called forum, buses are available near to forum. Hertfordshire covers most of the education field like engineering, arts, music and all. There is a helpdesk where we can get the answers for almost every general queries. 2022 Update Most of the classes are online now, it's good to see friends and tutor physically. As the tutor's are helping students in most of the matter but I am bit disappointed with university and tutor because they are not responding our emails and if they do reply after taking too much time and to be honest I am not happy with the university response these days 😔.

The Turkish Kitchen Hatfield & Jimmy's Brunch is a remarkable eatery that offers an amazing breakfast/brunch experience. It was discovered serendipitously and will definitely be revisited in the future. The morning meal provided here is exceptionally fresh and prepared to an excellent level of quality. All the dishes are flavorful and delicious, complemented by their fantastic selection of smoothies. This place deserves the highest praise possible!
Really nice food and very good service. The place has very nice seating. There’s an area to have brunch, but it’s a bit separate from the rest. I tried the lamb casserole and it was delicious. I also like that they bring you a spicy sauce separately, because I don’t like my food very spicy. The pita bread that came with the hummus was delicious. It was warm and it had a somewhat sweet smell. The only problem is that we got almost full with the pitta bread and the hummus and we couldn’t finish our mains. But they gave us a takeaway box, so no food was wasted 😃
David Gavilan — Google review
We have been here 5 times and have ordered takeaway several times. Never disappointed and extremely tasty food. The meat, fish and vegetarian dishes are all equally wonderful and beautifully presented. The bread supplied when you sit down or order takeaway is also sublime coming with both a garlic mayonnaise and spicy but not head blowing sauce. The serving staff know their dishes and are very welcoming without being overbearing. Their aim is simply to ensure you enjoy your meal whatever your budget. The restaurant has a feel of luxury unlike the prices. Go there and enjoy it!

It was our first visit to the restaurant. We had been looking for a nice Turkish restaurant for a while and this came up today. The place has a very nice ambience and seating is very comfortable. Menu options are quite varied, so are the drinks! I would have liked more mocktail options as we don’t drink. Now, the service was hit and miss. We got our drinks and starters very quickly and the mains came after a long wait. The restaurant was not busy at all, only 4 tables including us but still took some time. I was going to give 4 *s but thinking about the overall experience, it can have 5! Prices were towards the upper end (London prices in Hertfordshire) but the portion size was very generous. We have lamb beyti, Turko burger and mixed Adana, which were all tasteful and plentiful! However, due to the price we might only use it for special occasions only!

Restaurant
Red Indian Restaurant is an eatery in Welwyn Garden City that specializes in Asian, Bangladeshi, and Indian cuisine. This establishment has garnered a positive reputation since its opening in 2012. Customers have praised the restaurant for its delectable dishes and expressed their desire to return for more. With a number two rating on Google Maps, Red Indian provides an inviting atmosphere for those seeking flavorful Indian food in the southern region of the country.
Had a superb banquet night for their anniversary - delicious chutneys, mixed starter and mains, which even included the tandoori seabass, with sides too. We loved the mini cupcakes as a touch after the meal, and left so full for a bargain price. Service was fast despite a very busy evening, and we had a great time. Thanks!
Sophie Weller — Google review
I purchased a gift card from Red for my parents as a birthday present. When they visited the restaurant tonight to redeem it, they were informed that only one voucher could be used per visit. So, instead of enjoying a family meal paid for by their family, they now have to make three separate trips to use their birthday gift card/vouchers. I wouldn’t recommend Red because of this. It's disappointing that Red sells gift cards without clearly communicating such restrictions on their usage

I half expected tomahawks and teepees but the restaurant turned out to be one serving Indian food and just happened to be called "red". The food was very tasty and well presented. Our starter was remarkably filling, so we weren't able to do the main courses the justice they definitely deserved. This has now gone to the top of my list of "Indian restaurants in this part of Hertfordshire". Hopefully, we will return.

Popped in for dinner late afternoon on a Sunday. We got a table straightaway as it was surprisingly quiet. Order at the bar service. All the staff were friendly and talkative whilst going about their work. The food came out quickly and everyone (including the kids) emptied their plates. Female toilets closed due to a flood of some sort but the disabled toilets were open and clean. Access is disabled friendly.

Popped in with Family to celebrate Mothers Day on Saturday instead of Sunday. Always greeted by the friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble. This pub is family friendly and we often as a family pop in as food and ambience are excellent. For starters we had the New Cheese burger chips so delicious with plenty of pickles. I had a Double Stack Burger with yummy skin on chips and home made slaw good portions. Hubby had the Chicken Tikka the other meals ordered was Fish & Chips enormous portion and cooked to perfection and kids meal burger . New Menu in for 2023 I've added some photos so much choice. Check out the Daytime Menu....Club Sandwich brilliant and two meals for such a great price...🙂

Woeful. That's the only word for it. Just used this place as part of an overnight in the Premier Inn next door. The first day, we tried to order drinks at the bar. The place wasn't busy, but we were ignored by staff who were too busy having conversations. When we finally did get served, the bar staff had no idea what they were doing, so started another conversation. Rule of thumb in customer service is, engage with your customer. If you struggle apologies as this goes a long way. Sunday morning we got up and went from the hotel to get our limitless breakfast? We waited at the sign saying please wait to be seated and was again ignored by the staff. When we got in everything is serve yourself. The limitless breakfast should be called the limited breakfast. Free for all. No staff. Nothing being brought out to replace the empty food plates. Coffee machine broken. No cups. No plates. No bread. Ask staff and they have no idea. No management anywhere. All I saw was bad service, knackered equipment and demoralised staff. MANAGEMENT. THIS IS DOWN TO YOU. NOT THE STAFF. This is no way to run a business and certainly no way to treat your customers
Steven Cooper — Google review
Went for a carvery ....staff were not very clear what the vegetarian option was. Said to us and another customer that it was just the vegetables, until we saw what it should be on the menu above the carvery food( it's not on the main menu) Chef said he had ordered it for us with the gravy when we went up for the food.....it did not appear after 25 mins....lots of confusion by staff at the bar looking underneath the carvery section when we went to talk about it !!! Think staff should make an effort to know the menu better but even the chef serving didn't seem that clear. Poor service, long wait to be served and not even received the order we wanted. Just be aware if your vegetarian that you may be waiting a long time and need to help staff to understand what is being requested.

Overall an ok brewers fayre attached to an underwhelming premier inn that I think is a bit outdated and a little tired, could do with a revamp, brewers fayre is mediocre with ok food but nothing special, some items on the menu weren't available which in my opinion is never much good, didn't have any bread for toast etc at breakfast which I found poor, and milk was served still in the plastic bottle it was delivered in, overall some attention to detail is required here
Stuey — Google review
I ordered the Big Stack Burger, taste is ok, so no complain. The service is not the best, the lady who serve us looks miserable and seems not that happy to what she is doing. You don’t need to wait to get a table, you just need to grab your own and order the food and pay in the bar straight away. There’s a lot of parking space which is free for 3 hrs.
N R — Google review
Firstly, the staff were lovely. Very attentive and caring. The food on the other hand was atrocious. The food came out very fast. We had 3 courses and they manged to get every one wrong. The Caulibites were raw inside but looked overcooked. The fish and chips were awful. The fish didn't taste right and the batter looked burnt. The oil obviously hasn't been changed in a long time. The presentation was shameful. The sticky toffee pudding was almost cold in the middle but the custard was boiling. The brownie was like mashed potato. It was mushy, soggy and smelt burnt. The refillable drinks were flat. We left most of the food uneaten. The loght over our table was out so it was dark and gloomy. This place needs to step it up. This is one of the worst brewers fayre I've been to. They shouldn't let food leave the kitchen like this. The entire building is run down and needs an overhaul. Not at all impressed. The staff are lovely but need retraining. Especially the kitchen. I would be ashamed if this were my kitchen and food was leaving with all these problems.

We went there on Monday asked for a 2 for 11.49 menu was told it’s bank holiday it doesn’t apply (nothing in the menu to state this), their website says they have a softplay well they do not have one. Despite all this I wanted to order anyways but there was no one to take the order or ask any question! Also it’s very cold inside. I would not recommend this place! Avoid! Better places for cheaper!

First time visiting as we were in the area and was very delighted with our food. This pub serves your "traditional pub grub" at afford prices. I can recommend the steak pie it was lovely and decent portion size too. The young man who served us was friendly and pilot. As we left the pub all the staff said goodbye which was nice. There is a child play area so makes it a perfect place if you had small children. We don't have children so there is the odd distraction but but it didn't bother us that much.

We arrived latish on Saturday night, starving and desperate for a steak after a very long drive. Welcomed by a log fire and friendly staff who informed us the kitchen was just closing. If we ordered promptly at the bar the kitchen could fulfill our order. Really great pub food; beautiful prawn cocktail, deep-fried mushrooms and incredible sirloin steaks. I can't fault the food, staff or service....so friendly and accommodating

Nice little country pub, we only visited once for a wake during a weekday, but I found the staff friendly, the buffet was plentiful and varied and there's ample seating. It's a traditional style with dark wood and lowish ceilings. The pub has an outdoor area with a few bench tables, a large car park, a bright conservatory and a few cosy nooks. Wouldn't be fair to say much more unless I was a frequent visitor, but I would return if we were ever in the area again.

A Fantastic meal and atmosphere right on my doorstep. This is one of the few great pubs left nowadays with honest, classic pub food at reasonable prices. If you eat a main course, please have a desert too. You'll die for the proper classic crumble or the chocolate fudge pudding with Ice cream or custard. Mmmm! The service is also prompt and warm, with the owners being really hospitable. Don't hesitate to try this great 120-year-old village pub.

I visited this place as I was organised a baby shower to my friend 🧡 I booked it a while back, and it was easy and straightforward. 20 people were invited, and all of us fit well 😊 chlidren were able to "play" outside. The food was delicious and a good portion! We received a great service here even though I was just booked a place, no food or drink were included in our booking, but we, of course, ordered food and drinks. A big restaurant with an outside space which is amazing to use if the weather lets you 😉

Enjoyed a nice burger and chips here for lunch after a long walk. The food was tasty (especially the chips) and came out promptly. The staff were attentive but seemed unimpressed when asked to fill up a water bottle with tap water before we left. There was a decent atmosphere inside, not too busy around 12:00-12:30 and had a nice cosy feel. Overall I’d still recommend going and checking it out.

I had a wonderful Sunday roast at the Red Lion! Lovely atmosphere, brilliant staff and mouth watering food. The place was packed, but they were still able to get me a table for 1. I ordered the beer-braised beef brisket roast, which was a good choice. The food itself was incredible and very filling. The gravy was rich in flavour, and everything else on my plate was very well prepared. I especially loved the baked potatoes! Again, I just have to mention how wonderful the staff was during my afternoon lunch there. They were smiling, polite and very helpful towards me! (Yea, I look at you, boy and two girl waitresses! Wished I caught your names.) Even though there were so many other guests to attend to, they still made sure I had everything I needed. I will make sure to come back here again during the two months I have left here in Hatfield! (Life of an exchange student) thanks for the amazing experience! Definitely recommended. Bonus; it's literally so close to the Hatfield train station!

We had my 60th birthday celebration in the function room and it comfortably held 60 people. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the buffet was excellent. There was a lot of good tasting food and my guests all commented what a lovely evening they had had. The team couldn't do enough for us and the whole evening went off really well. Thankyou

Delicious fishcakes and my sister enjoyed the goats cheese pasta. Service was quick. I gave atmosphere 4 stars as I was there on a wet Wednesday lunchtime, so it was obviously quiet but nice all the same

Lovely calm atmosphere, sat outside in fresh air. Unfortunately I did have to wait quite a while before being served at the bar and had another customer served before me even though I had been waiting before them, however the staff are extremely polite and food comes out very quickly to a great standard. Seems a warm and friendly environment, would recommend for couples and families aiming for a calm and chilled out evening.

This is a brilliant pub!!! Service is top notch and everyone is so friendly. The food? 10/10 especially the Sunday roast! Very reasonably priced and tasted amazing. Great portion sizes and you get the option to order a smaller or larger plate depending on how much you can eat! They also have 99ps with a flake!! Great seating availability & very clean. Dog friendly and parking! 100% recommend and definitely coming back

We went here for lunch on Boxing Day as part of a big party of about 20. I’m a little snobby with food but I was so impressed! The service from the moment we arrived to when we left was amazing, especially so as they were busy with multiple groups. We were never left waiting for drinks or for food to be served, tables to be cleared. The food was of a great standard, more than expected for when catering for the numbers they were. This is a gem of a venue!

A very agreeable establishment. Great interior, tasty food, reasonable prices, pristine loos and excellent serving staff. Very cosy inside with period decor and a variety of seats to suit all postures. The menu isn't challenging but offers something for most tastes with options and additions at low prices. My steak was cooked perfectly as were my companions beetroot and chicken burgers. The wine list starts around £17 a bottle and all available by the small, medium or, in my case, large glass. Dessert menu proved to be more satisfying than on initial glance. Car park spacious. What's not to like?
