Delphi

The modern town of Delphi is situated immediately west of the archaeological site of the same name. The town was created as a home for the population of Castro, which was relocated to allow for the excavation of the site of ancient Delphi. Wikipedia.

Museums
The Delphi Archaeological Museum houses a vast collection of architectural sculptures, statues, and other precious objects donated to the ancient Greek oracle from the 8th century BC onwards. It is a matter of debate whether to visit the museum or site first, as both offer unique experiences. The museum provides visitors with insights into what the site may have looked like during its prime, featuring wealthy buildings and vividly coloured statues.
The museum is right next to the Delphi ruins and holds most of the (small) items found on the site and the more monuments/decorative stones used on the buildings. The museum isn't that big and takes the general visitor less than half an hour. Including the Delphi ruins this is a sight worth seeing.

Wonderful museum showing the amazing finds throughout the ancient temple area. Offers plenty of information about its life as a religious center for the ancient Greeks. So many things to see, plan to spend sometime slowly making your way through.
Brian Saylor — Google review
Really incredible museum and building! Loved how the building stands on stilts overtop of an archaeological site with several places to view from. It's easy to understand why it has won so many awards with its thoughtful design that compliments the exhibits without taking away from them. Note that you are not allowed to bring backpacks into the museum. I was asked to check my backpack but it was free and an efficient system. No worries there.
Matt Wallace — Google review
Archaeological site and museum locate beside each other, just off the road. Finally, found a spot in 5 – 10 minutes’ walk. Since no specific parking lot provided, there is a chance, need to go back and forth to find a spot after somebody’s leaving. Staff were very nice and welcome. Site is located in the heights and good looking landscape. You would see different nationality, professional and nice travelers, interested in history. There was some information about monument but it could be more. There were some shops for statues and souvenirs with good price. Still there is a chance to negotiate. Local people were welcome to provide information, to help to find parking spot, and to show the ways.

Visiting the Delphi archaeological site and museum was an unforgettable journey into the heart of ancient Greece. The site itself, nestled on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, offers breathtaking views and a palpable sense of history. Exploring the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, the theater, and the stadium was like stepping back in time, imagining the rituals and competitions that once took place there. The museum, with its impressive collection of artifacts, beautifully complements the outdoor experience. From intricately carved statues to delicate pottery, each exhibit tells a story of the people who once inhabited this sacred place. The highlight for me was seeing the iconic Charioteer statue up close, its serene expression and masterful craftsmanship truly awe-inspiring. The staff at both the site and the museum were knowledgeable and passionate, adding depth to the experience with their insights and anecdotes. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply seeking to connect with the past, a visit to Delphi is a must-do. It's a place where ancient wonders come to life, leaving a lasting impression on all who have the privilege to explore its treasures.

We were very pleased to make our visit to Delphi including the archaeological museum. All of those things that we have read and heard about all our lives regarding Apollo and his role in Greek history were brought to life. We really enjoyed our visit.

What an amazing place to visit!!! Full of monuments, stunning status and offers to the Gods! I am so proud to be Greek Origin and very happy to see all these historic places…congratulations to people, devoted to this sacred place! PS I recommend to visit very early in the morning to see the sun rising up the mountains…ones in a lifetime experience

Incredible history behind an ancient center of religion. Imagine asking and then getting advice from a woman who babbled from inhaled vapors which then were interpreted by priests in a vague manner so as to allow the questioner to figure out the answer for themselves. And then the vast mini temples and tributes to the Oracle... It blows the mind as to how powerful and influential this place was.
Bill Baker — Google review
Good museum. You definitely need an engaging tour guide to get proper context and history behind each display. The museum felt a little congested and the air conditioning is bad. No proper ventilation. Overall a good museum to visit. Just make sure to grab a fan to get yourself some air.

Worth the drive - don't miss Delphi! This was one of the best parts of the our Greek trip! Delphi is so beautiful and magical. It was worth the two hour drive from Athens. We took a tour with Getaways Greece which was a day trip. The vistas were just beautiful on the drive. Once you get to Delphi it's like you're transported to somewhere magical! I loved it better than Acropolis which was so touristy. The crowds were sparse here and it was lovely to take in the sites at your own pace without being herded like cattle. Mind you it does take a bit of walking if you want to get to the top to see the stadium. But even if you don't go all the way to the top it is still a beautiful place to visit and you can still get a lot out of it without going to the top. Wear comfortable shoes.

Beautiful museum and incredible site to explore. We had a private guide that explained all of the historical significance of the site. I'll just add one warning: the incline is steep and the steps are uneven. If mobility is an issue, as it was for me, making it to the top to see the theater, may not be possible.
jenninowak — Google review
Nice musium! Very explanatory through the texts that describe the different monuments! It is relatively small thus it is not getting boring for smaller children lets say. It combines the outside area of Delphi that is very pretty with a beautiful view! A pleasant experience for sure!
Θ Togias — Google review
This museum wasn't too bad, especially since the ticket to the Sanctuary of Apollo came with the museum ticket. For the size of the place, I was kind of expecting it to be wall to wall artifacts and it really wasn't. With the museum and the archeological sites, maybe took a few hours to read about and take in.
Brian Morton — Google review
If your visiting Delphi this is a must see. The museum really helps put the ruins in perspective and context. Lots of ancient artifacts found at the site. It's very affordable and not huge, I wouldn't see spending more than maybe a few hours.
Erica Seegrist — Google review
Great place to visit if you're in the area. Plenty to see and learn during this site. The path is nicely laid out, and you should be able to see everything should you follow the correct path. The archeological site also offers an amazing view of the mountains, especially as you get higher towards the stadium. The ticket price also offers entry into the museum, which offers historic displays and artefacts from the archeological site. Don't forget to visit the other two archeological sites just a little further down the road (gymnasium and Athena... Something - should be visible on Google Maps). Walkable to and from the town of Delphi as well, so you can definitely spend a good few hours there, wandering around and learning about this site and its historical importance.
Ricko Suryadinata — Google review
Delphi Archeological site is a jewel. Wear good shoes and bring a hat! Even at 8 am in middle of May, there were already tour buses, so be aware there will be crowds.
Lise Anne Janis — Google review
An exceptional archaeological site as well as a museum. It is not indicated anywhere, but due to the extreme heat, the working hours have been changed. In the morning they work from 8h to 13h and then from 17:30h to 20h. The disadvantage is that children from 12 to 25 years old outside the European Union are not entitled to free entry but pay half price.
Milica Stankovic — Google review
I would advise doing this with a guide if your interested in more then just taking photos. You get a much more in depth experience and an understanding of what your looking at. Museum and the temple ruins were amazing. Note the stadium is about 10-15 mins further up from the ruins.
Damian Benton — Google review
A great museum and extraordinary archeological site. The admission price of €12 gives you access to both. So the site early as it gets hot and the museum after. Also you avoid the crowds if you go early. Amazing history and buildings.
G Mac — Google review
If you are going to Meteora stop here and enjoy this place. The drive is amazing and so is the small town a mile down the road. This place has very complete ruins which are awesome.
Kunal Chandel — Google review
Not too big but interesting, best to go after visiting the main site as you'll have an idea where many of the things on exhibit were from. Good written information, you'll get a lot even without a tour guide. It can be packed with tours, plan between 20 and 60 minutes depending on how much you want to read and the crowds to squeeze through.

The Delphi Archaeological Museum, nestled in the heart of Greece, serves as a mesmerizing window into the ancient world, showcasing the rich cultural and religious heritage of the Delphic sanctuary, revered throughout antiquity as the home of the famous oracle. This museum is a treasure trove of history, housing an extensive collection of artifacts that span thousands of years, including the iconic Charioteer of Delphi, the Sphinx of Naxos, and the remnants of the Temple of Apollo. The exhibits, arranged chronologically, offer a comprehensive overview of the development of the art and thought of ancient Greece, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts. Beyond its historical significance, the museum's location offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valley and mountains, adding a layer of natural beauty to the experience. Visiting the Delphi Archaeological Museum is not just a journey into the past; it's an opportunity to connect with the wisdom and artistry of ancient civilizations, making it a pivotal stop for anyone exploring Greece's rich heritage.
Panagiotis Boulougouras — Google review
A definite highlight of my families Greek vacation. Come stand at the Temple of Apollo and imagine it's 7th century BC and your about to ask the Oracle a question. The grounds here take you back to a time that predates most of what we know about history. Beautiful museum to see and then walk through what used to be ancient Delphi and make your way to the amphitheatre at the Pinnacle.
Philip Smith — Google review
An exceptional archaeological site as well as a museum. Temples, amphitheatre, athlete stadium and many structures of this ancient world. Incredible museum with awe inspiring artefacts.
jean-philippe Guichard — Google review
You can visit this amazing place from parking to peak in an hour. And if you do, you're cheating yourself. If you don’t want to leave with regrets, commit at least four hours for this exploration of antiquities and yourself. We were on a private tour. It was supposed to be a small group of 6 to 8 people. But we were the only customers that day so it was my partner, myself, our guide and our driver. It was perfect! Do not, I repeat, do NOT book a large group tour! You will be one of 60 people wearing a headset, separated from everyone, in your private purgatory, trying to stay within range of your distant guide’s transmission. But don’t trust me. “Know thyself.” Know for yourself. Visit & form your own opinions.
James Anderson, CFRE — Google review
A must visit the museum. There are so many artifacts that were in very good condition or very well restored. One should visit the site first and then visit the museum. There are no restrooms inside the museum, you need to go out for that. Also make sure to check the time slot in your ticket, and visit the museum within that time to avoid issues.

The Ancient Stadium of Delphi offers a unique experience for visitors, serving as the venue for various cultural events such as the Summer Arts Festival organized by the European Cultural Centre of Delphi. This historic site was once home to the Pythian Games and could accommodate up to 6,000 spectators on its tiered stone seating. The stadium's unpaved trail leads visitors to discover ancient starting blocks and other remnants from its glorious past.
Relatively well maintained and impressive stadium. It requires some walking to get here so be aware of that and bring appropriate shoes. Parking: There is a car park and also plenty of parking spots available on the side of the road. Opening hours: the museum shuts early on some days so be aware of that when planning your visit to all sites. The site location: The museum, the theater (and other sites on that side of the hill) and the temple of Athena are a few hundred meters walk from each other, you can either walk across to each or if it’s not so busy on the road then park by each location. Ticket prices: are 12e each and the museum entry and all sites are included in the price. Toilets: No toilets up on the hill where the temple of Apollo, stadium, theater etc are so be aware of that. This is a must visit if you have the time when in Greece, it’s 2.5-3h drive from Athens but totally worth it. Weather: Visiting in April was good because it wasn’t too hot yet. 20ish degrees. It’s outside and mainly exposed to if you’re visiting on the summer or hot times then bring sun protection. Accommodation: There are hotels within 5min driving distance and most of them are good quality. I stayed at Nidimos in Delphi center.

(Translated by Google) Part of ancient Delphi but at the very top. You have to walk uphill a bit, but it is definitely worth it. We were there at the end of the day in early June (5:00 PM - 7:30 PM). Not much is standing, but with a good guide you will get an idea. Especially when you consider that it used to be a big thing, the oracle.

It was very busy when we went here. Not a long walk to get to the stadium. A lot of other ruins to see along the way. It was amazing to see the ruins of Ancient Greece. Not much shade along the way. Bring plenty of water and a hat or umbrella for shade.

It was such a hike to get up there, but it was amazing, and definitely worth the time! Make sure you bring enough water because you will need it after the trek up! There are plenty of trees for shade and they have benches to sit on and rest, too. It is unbelievable how well preserved it is!

This place was just amazing omg it goes back to at least 600BC. The atmosphere was unbelievable my imagination as I was walking around was running riot. The museum is a must it's all included in the entrance fee €6 each. Have an amazing experience and go.
Diane Lewis — Google review
Greatly organised archaeological site. It's an about 30min walk from the entrance to the stadium. I would recommend comfortable shoes and water. Not accessible with wheelchair (from what I noticed), and a bit hard to access for people with moving difficulty too. I would recommend calling and asking about accessibility just to be sure. Clean, and easy to navigate and read info about what you see.
Tapa Tupa — Google review
Incredible end to the hike up the hill past all the sites of Delphi. Part of a great tour there as well.
Scott Thiemann — Google review
Worth the climb! Depending on weather and humidity, the path up can be a struggle. However, it’s worth it! The views are incredible.
ncaljohn — Google review
The place is well preserved but is at the top of the archeological site, so, just be prepared to walk and climb, bring some water with you and sunscreen if you visit it on summer time

The Museum of Delphic Festivals, also known as the Angelos and Eva Sikelianos Museum, is a charming collection dedicated to commemorating Hellenic culture and reviving the ancient Pythian Games. The museum showcases exhibits related to the festivals celebrated by poet Aggelos Sikelianos and his wife in their former home, which now serves as the museum.
The museum has beautiful treasures of statues and art!

Very small museum, but nice. Do not confuse this with the Delphi Archeological Museum. Several of the pictures and reviews reference the big museum down the road. For instance, unless you work there, I see no way possible to spend 2 hours as one reviewer reported.

The Tholos of Athena Pronaia is an ancient Greek temple located at the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, dating back to the 4th century BCE. The site features a well-preserved tholos, or rotunda, often mistaken by tourists as the location of the Pythia, priestess of Apollo. Pilgrims would traditionally begin their visit here before proceeding to the Temple of Apollo.
Worth the walk if you have the time. You walk down from the road and there's some interesting flag stones. There's a viewing area, which has toilets and looks like it had a refreshment stand (but it wasn't open when we went). Then continue to walk down to access the ruins and have a walk around. No tickets required.
Childof Thoth85 — Google review
From the glory days of this complex not much left but the original blocks and stone are still there just there is no money to complete the rebuild of the place and it is such a shame . Originally there were 5 buildings . 2 temples of Athena , two treasury buildings and a building for the armory . Now there is only one monument left which was partially reconstructed . It looks amazing nonetheless. We should spend money to preserve such incredible places no matter the costs .

Can access without the ticket. Best to follow the path from the village towards Delhpi, before moving down the road. Well worth a visit, in addition to the museum and main site. Is a bit of a walk in the heat, but manageable.

Not as impressive as Acropolis but Natures and surrounding were awesome. Specifically towns near by. Interesting history and myths makes much more fun.

Really good short stop! Definitely find a tour that enables you to actually stop here and walk around albeit short :) worth it!

Free to visit, and worth the 10 minutes that it will take you to go round. It is a 2 minute walk down from the road, or a 10 minute walk from the main site at Delphi. Very scenic and atmospheric. I would recommend a dawn/dusk visit, when you can great pictures of the columns of the tholos.
Mark Robbo — Google review
Just a wonderful area to walk around and relive the past. Use your imagination and see this wonderfully historical area as it was. There isn’t too much information about but you can easily find a guide online that explains everything. There is also the main museum up the road that goes through the whole Delphi area. If you’re coming to Delphi definitely walk a little down the hill to check this out.

Make sure not to miss!!! It's a little hidden away and farther up the road than the Delphi Archaeological Museum but it's a great stop. When we went there wasn't any persons there but to walk along the tholos was breathtaking. It's not as preserved as some of the other ruined but still very interesting and unique. Well worth the 15-20min stop needed to walk around.

Close to the Athens. Why I didn't come before I don't know. But the place is very nice. Just u need to know that the place looks flat, but u need to go down to see that place and go back up. This place entrance is free...

The Temple of Apollo is an ancient historical landmark with significant cultural and religious importance. It boasts 6 restored Doric columns from the 300s BCE and has been visited by many over thousands of years. Located in Delphi, the ruins include the Fountain of Peirene, the Agora where Paul's trial by Gallio took place, and the famous Bema stands. Another famous Temple of Apollo is located in Naxos, known as Portara or Doorway.
Great temple with historic value, it takes a while to get there but the entrance is not that expensive and everything is well explained, I recommend going here with a guide for the full experience, the ticket is 12 euros and includes a visit to the museum. Both sites have toilets

Great reconstruction of the ancient Greek oracle site. Well done and maintained paths. A good physical exercise; make sure that you have a way to cool off during summer visits.
Eduard Stan — Google review
if you have taken the effort to visit Athens then do take a trip to Delphi and consult the Oracle! The Drive from Athens takes about 2hr 15 min. you need about 2 hrs to hike up to the stadium come down and visit the museum. Grab a bite in the picturesque village of Arachova
Ash — Google review
Some nice history about the temple. Somewhat disappointing when you get to the top and there isn't much else but the theatre and not much of a view. The best view would be from somewhere in the middle overlooking the theatre. If you want to learn more about it then would recommend a tour guide. Can sometimes be packed with a lot of tours
Vinay Damani — Google review
Delphi and the Temple of Apollo was excellent, I very much enjoyed exploring these ruins and seeing something similar to what people thousands of years ago would have seen when going to hear from the Oracle. Wear good shoes as the walk up is steep.

DHAVAL BENDALE — Google review
It is exactly what you expect it to be. You can generally find parking along the hill by the museum. The museum was the easiest place to purchase tickets to walk up and see the temple.

A must visit site. Better with a tour guide. Enjoyed the tour since our tour guide had a lot of stories and jokes. Peaceful environment. Area is steep so recommend a good walking shoes and bring drinking water. Not for those with uncontrolled hypertension
Marylaine Dujunco — Google review
The temple of Apollo was so neat. I personally found it more interesting than the Acropolis in Athens. The setting in the hills of Mt Parnassus made it even more incredible. The only downside was that the stadium was closed while we were visiting. We went in the middle of April during the week and it wasn’t too crowded.
Melissa DiGioia — Google review
It is hard to imagine how this place looked at its glory. It took more than a thousand years to fully develop this site. This is the most famous Oracle site in the ancient world. Has fallen into decline in 5th century after Christianity was officially introduced in Greece.
Tomek Ikea — Google review
Got there at 3:15 pm and was denied entry because last entrance is at 3:10 even though Google maps says 8:30-4:00 pm. I came from overseas and drove all the way from Athens to see this temple, and the ladies would not budge to let us in, even though we would pay and had travelled so far. She even had the nerve to ask “what I was doing all day” since they open at 8:30 am. Ridiculous way to treat guests who are visiting your country for the first time. Anyway, there’s a cool hike behind the temple that overlooks the mountains. Much better than just the temple and it’s open 24/7! :)

Taverna Vakhos is a family-owned restaurant located in the heart of Delphi, offering a contemporary take on regional cuisine. They source their food locally and have a wine list with many local and organic options. The terrace offers great views, while the valley view dining room offers even better ones.
Everything we ate was delicious! I would highly recommend the slow cooked lamb with lemon and the salad with lentils and spinach! Quite welcome was the complimentary Baklava of the house!

You'd expect a restaurant in close proximity to one of Greece's foremost archaeological sites to have poor food (as you find so often in Italy etc), but this place completely bucks the trend. It's a family run place, which is very popular with local Greeks and came highly recommended by our tour guide. They have some nice options on the menu that we didn't see elsewhere in Greece. They also have one of the most extensive craft beer selections I've seen at any restaurant in Greece. Highly recommended for a nice lunch after Delphi, especially if you can snag one of the outdoor seats.

Amazing food variety and taste with many vegeterian and vegan options. Tried almost all the pies in the menu and they were all delicious! We took way too many dishes and waitress paused us so food won't be wasted, which was really appreciated. The atmosphere is very friendly and service very quick and good. Wine and beer catalogue is very thorough concerning the flavors. There is a playroom for kids that is very thoughtful and rare to find. Overall we were all very satisfied and happy to have tried it! Highly recommended and would definitely come back for more!!

Great restaurant in Delphi. We were amazed by the views, the food and wines and the hospitality and honesty of the staff. I never seen a menu cart that explains where they obtain the ingredients and the wines section explains each wine characteristics and also the possibility of try a glass of every wine instead of having to buy the whole bottle. We take a look to the kitchen and it's pretty clear that they gather natural food from local people and they are quite clean. We love the dessert to, very well made traditional desserts. The food was interesting and different from other places, I was very surprised with the ewe with pasta. Highly recommend.

Taverna Vakhos was recommended by our hotel as a good place for traditional, fresh, local food. Portions were generous, with salads and appetizers easily enough for two people to share. We were impressed with the variety of local wines on the wine list. Taverna Vakhos appeared popular with tour groups, so it was loud when full of large parties. Reservations are recommended.

First time trying rabbit and it was spectacular -- it was cooked perfectly and the stew was delicious. (It tastes a bit like chicken thigh) My other favourite dish was the pork one -- can't recall but it might be the pork loins with cheese and peppers. The baklava and yogurt with quince were also really nice desserts - a good way to end the meal.

Dragos B — Google review
Probably our favorite traditional Greek meal during our trip. And that is saying a lot because we went to some magnificent restaurants. What a magnificent view! After touring the Delphi Museum and archaeological site, this was a perfect way to rest a bit before driving back to Athens. Service was perfect. Attentive and helpful with food and drink suggestions without being pushy and not at all pretentious. The food was truly incredible as you can see from the photos. They only use fresh seasonal ingredients. So in the fall and winter months, order the stuffed cabbage not the dolmas because vine leaves are out of season. Their olive tapenade and "Grandma's recipe" artichoke hearts and stuffed cabbage leaves were the best I've ever had. We also enjoyed slow cooked goat with wild greens. To finish off the meal, they gave us complementary baklava. Of course we drank ouzo while looking out over the village of Delphi, the olive tree's in the valley and the Gulf of Corinth. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!

Excellent food in a comfortable casual setting. Next time I will know to make a reservation to get a table on the rail with the best view. The food was some of the best I have had in Greece so far.
Randy H — Google review
The best restaurant in Greece! I would give it six stars if I could. We almost didn't go because there was a 20 minute wait to even get a table. I'm so happy we waited, we got the best table and had the best food we had during our long holiday in Greece. For starters we shared a local pie which was amazing. I ate lamb and my husband ate goat, both meats were delicious and very well made. All the products are of local origins. The drinks and desserts were homemade and we loved them! 100% recommend this place to everyone.

Absolutely stunning selection of the greatest natural wines in Greece. The food was perfect but to be able to enjoy it with such pairings was not something I expected in this part of Greece. Well done.
Terpsichore — Google review
Fantastic view. They serve authentic Greek cuisine like what grandmothers used to make. I ordered the goat dish wrapped in leaves, it’s like a stew. Very huge serving, it’s actually good for 2. I was unable to finish it. My family ordered something else and equally delicious. Of course we ordered Greek salad too and the bottled local lemonade. At the end we got a bowl with fruits as a treat for free.

Beautiful views, good food, great prices, wonderful service Our Delphi tour brought us here after our trip to Delphi. What a wonderful place! The view was gorgeous. The food was tasty. We ate their leek pie, formaela which was a fried goat and sheep cheese, stuffed peppers and grass pea croquettes with onion chutney. Their portions were large. We had leftovers! The service was exceptional. And the prices were really reasonable. They had lots of options for vegetarians. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

What differenceated this tavern was the nice selection of beers that it had from local and Greek small brewers! Other than that: Tasty food! Nice view! And friendly stuff that was there for everything we needed!!

If you're looking for a delicious and elegant Mediterranean meal, then look no further than To Patriko Mas. From starters like Greek appetizers to hearty pastas and risottos, they have something for everyone on their menu. The outdoor seating is perfect for enjoying the valley views while you dine, and the staff are always happy to help guide you towards the perfect wine selection.
Excellent restaurant in Delphi. The owner and the team are professional and kind people who welcomed us and my dog very well (which is not always the case in Greek restaurants). I would love to discover the garden of the restaurant in summer because the view is stunning. Food is local and deliciously prepared and the wines are well advised by the oenologist

Delicious meal with a stunning view! We ordered the bread (fresh made and still hot), tzatziki, Greek salad, chicken fillet, and pork steak. The portion sizes are very generous! It was enough food to feed our group of 4. We were also given a complimentary little dessert 😋 Highly recommend!

American/ Canadian talking to you: this was THE BEST FOOD WE ATE IN ALL OF OUR Europe trips. Better than anything in Italy hands down. Better than the Spain Portuguese or Netherlands- this is worth any drive you take to get here. We had 4 appetizers, a Greek salad, and 4 entree- I will rebook a trip here do this food… and the view is not bad either…

I'd seen this place come recommended in a lot of different places, so it was first on our list of places to stop for lunch while visiting Delphi. I expected the views to be great (which they are and then some). What I didn't expect was to be so blown away by the food. For a restaurant with a great view in a touristy area, I expected it to get away on location alone, but I was sorely mistaken. The bread was fresh, and delicious, the wine was excellent. The Prasinomelia salad was probably the best salad we had in our entire three weeks in Greece. The Dolmades and Moussaka were both the best we had anywhere in the country. We expected to enjoy our meal here, we didn't expect it to be one of the best meals we had anywhere in Greece. This is an amazing gem of a place and blew us away. We will hopefully return some day!

Best meal so far in Greece- amazing view, professional and kind staff. Everyone at the table was amazed by there meals. Lots of WOWS uttered! Memory created! I never take pictures of food and I had to - this place was inspirational and will change the way I cook moving forward

Every part of our visit was outstanding. The food, service, interior, and view were perfect. We have been to Greece six times and this experience rates as one of the best. I don't give a lot of reviews so please understand we were extremely happy with every part of the experience. I believe you will be too.

The place is very special with a excellent scenic view. We have never had such a good Greek dinner. Together with the welcoming excellent service -- a unique experience. Will come back!

It was all good till the bill came. Maybe honest mistake 4x bread for total of 24 euro when it should be 1.5 x 4, but all bill prices for each meal were around 2 euros higher than menu, take a picture of the menu, which i usually do. I guess most tourist don’t notice when eating at a fancy restaurant. Service and food were good, just not fan on the tourist tax. They also failed to say 4 portions of bread is way too much. Get the slow cooked deer, the best on the menu. The rabbit was skippable and the beef steak is a hamburger..

We had an amazing time at this place ! They made very good and affordable food, the service is flawless and the owner is as nice as it gets. This place is welcoming and I would 100% recommand it if you only have to do one stop in the city. It was one of our favorite diner in Greece and the owner played a massive part in it.

We had an amazing dinner with the best view, the staff was very friendly and helpful; pure perfection. Best place in Greece so far. If you come to Delphi, this is definitely your place. Totally recommend it.

Probably one of the best restaurants Delphi has to offer. The staff is very kind and professional. Meals are served at the same time. The bread is locally baked and usually warm and fresh. The slow cooked pork is definitely something new that I've never tasted before. The chickpea salad was good, but nothing spectacular. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful outdoor patio with an amazing view. It's shaded with a mulberry tree that's over 100 years old. I highly recommend the sea bass-a very mild fish, comes deboned and flavoured in a way you will want to savour every bite.

Absolutely stunning views - nothing better than dinning in the cool shade of an ancient Mulberry tree - and the meal was OUTSTANDING - had a very authentic local Lamb dish "Kleftiko Lamb" you cannot find in Athens - outstanding flavours I have never experienced! Service was also amazing - one of the best spots in Delphi!

What a perfect spot this is. Highly recommended. The view is great and the waiter/owner knows his wines. We had a very nice wine that was a great combination with the octopus I had. The octopus was so tender that it almost melted on my tongue. The waiters are very friendly. You cannot for anything else in a restaurant.

Excellent meal with an attention to detail. The Greek salad is completely different from others. We do not care for cucumbers so they addd more olives which was perfect. I loved the salad and I don't enjoy regular Greek salads. The man explaining the wines did a great job and we found a perfect white wine (and I usually prefer red). I also loved the cream of carrots soup on this rainy day. It was a great choice of restaurants.

We dined here on our first day in Delphi, as we had dined here in the past, literally having the best meal we had had in Greece. This visit did not live up to our previous one. The Greek salad was fine, nice components however the tomatoes weren't quite ripe and did not have much flavor. We also had the cheese plate, which was wonderful. Five varieties of cheese along with apple, dried fruits, and nuts. We each had two glasses of wine. The setting is spectacular. Service was nice.

EPIKOUROS Taverna Restaurant is a Greek taverna with outdoor seating, highchairs available, and wheelchair access. They serve alcohol and have a full bar as well as wine and beer. Credit cards are accepted. The restaurant accepts American Express and Mastercard. There is free wifi here too!
The best place to eat and enjoy your food in Delphi! You can easily find the restaurant in this small city. The spot is beautiful and if you’re dining on the terrace you can witness the most spectacular view. There wasn’t loud music nor annoying waiters. In fact, they were attentive and nice. The Epikouros Restaurant offers the opportunity to sample an array of dishes of flavoursome traditional cuisine. !Before you order! Bare in mind that the portions are LARGE, and they also serve garnish with main dishes. What we love about Greek food is The Dakos Salad! It is an absolute must to try! We also love kleftiko - slow cooked lamb with traditional seasoning. And Souvlaki is the best dish for your children - fat less meat cooked on open fire and they serve it with fries and cooked veggies. We also wanted to try something different and ordered local Delphi salad, and, as for me, it is much like Caesar salad, but lighter. While we waited for our food they made us a gift- traditional Greek dip - Tzatziki - a dip of yogurt, cucumber, carrot, garlic and oregano. It was delightful. And in the kitchen end, they presented us sliced melon and watermelon. Maybe it’s not much, but it does show their attitude So, as you can guess, I HIGHLY REClOMMEND this tavern

Went here for a quick lunch before visiting the Delphi archeological site. They just opened, so some dishes were going to take longer. Our waitress walked us through the menu to let us know which will be fastest. The food was very good and fast! Our waitress was very accommodating, especially to our young son. Great place, nice view and good selection of food.

Wow. What a beautiful spot to have a meal. The views are incredible. The service is kind and quick. The food hit the spot after a long day of exploring. We wished we could come again before moving along to our next destination. My husband had the lamb ribs, I had the chicken with cream. Both were fantastic!

I highly recommend it, everything was amazing! The space itself has a cozy atmosphere, the service is very friendly and polite, and all we ate was great. We ordered cheese flutes with honey, pumpkin soup and pork a la creme. The flutes had a good balance between the cheese and the honey, the pumpkin soup was very tasty, good choice for cold days, and the pork was tender and tasty! At the end they also offered dessert on the house, which was also very nice!
Argyro Sioziou — Google review
Such generous portions! The Epikouros salad is huge with assorted crunchy fresh leaves and warm grilled cheese. Fresh yogurt with walnuts and honey is so large it feels like a serving for four. The wild boar with pearl onions and potatoes seems to be a favorite, but some bits of the meat was too tough for me. Service was superb! So friendly. If you come early enough find a seat by the open terrace. Beautiful sunset views.

Can’t say enough great things about this spot, the view, the staff and service. We were a group and they treated us like family. Prices are fair, the staff could not have been more patient and kind with all of us. I ordered the bolognese, ask for the kefalotiri cheese for your pasta instead of Parmesan. Eat pasta like the Greeks. Lastly you will get a complimentary sweet at the end. A quick reminder to let the staff know if you want separate checks when ordering to be accommodated. I can’t wait to return again next year. Thank you.

What an amazing restaurant here in Delphi. We are here at about 6pm and it wasn’t crowded at all. Excellent service, the food was excellent after a long hot day hiking, driving, and exploring the surrounding area. The food portions were large and well priced. The lamb was moist and melt in your mouth. The boar was savory and sweet from the baby onions. The traditional sausages were a mix of seasoning that was new, I should mention that the sausages were not greasy which made them a great starter, not too heavy! Lastly, the fried feta was amazing. I never knew it could be fried but wow! I’ll be making it at home sometime with homemade bread an absolute stunning dish! The view is spectacular as well! Highly recommended and thank you for making our stay special.

Had lunch here 6.5 years ago. After a long time we returned yesterday to have dinner here. Everything remains top quality! The food is absolutely fantastic. The meals are prepared with care and love. The dish decorations are pretty good. Restaurant has a very cosy atmosphere. We preferred both times to seat close to the windows that provides you with an amazing view of Corinthian Gulf. Very fast service and friendly staff. Definitely will come back one day. Nice treat in the end. Thank you Epikouros team and keep up the good work you are doing. P.S. For those that are complaining about the prices, there a menu here with prices. Check it before you order. Nobody forces you to order anything or even eat here if you think it's expensive.

This was recommended by our accommodation down the road from the restaurant. We thence decided to give it a shot. We got a seat right at the edge of the balcony to watch the sunset go down behind the mountains. The table was a tad small for the party of four but the food was decent. We had a complimentary Tsatsiki (which was really good!) followed by a serving of sea bass, wild boar with onions, calamari, rooster soup and eggplant salad. My personal favourite would be eggplant salad and the Tsatsiki. The staff thence gave us a platter of fruits to end the meal off nicely. With the sunset, good food and nice ambience, this was a good experience overall.

The gyro was our favorite! We also got the potatoes with cheese and bacon which hit the spot for us Americans. Pumpkin soup didn’t have a ton of flavor but we still enjoyed it. Complimentary dessert at the end was a nice surprise. We had a great experience here. Nice staff and beautiful restaurant!

What a great owner, Theo. He came out to tell us we couldn't park in Delphi due to construction. We said we would be back to have a drink. We went there several times for drinks. The view is phenomenal and Theo was such a gracious host. He talked to us about Delphi and Greece and introduced us to several unique Greek drinks. When you are in Delphi stop in to Telescope! This is a great spot in Delphi. On the main drag, it has a great deck that overlooks the valley, and telescopes to look at everything. The husband makes the drinks, the wife is the server, and there kids are just chilling in the corner. By far the best Frappe I have had in Greece, they give a good solid pour for their glass of local Greek wine. They have desserts and gelato also. You can several hours there. A great vibe.

The owner / server had a nice smile on his face and helped us with the menu. He spoke enough of English and we had no issue communicating with him. He even showed my daughter how to use the telescope. BTW, there is telescope there that you can use and see the sceneries. The back of the restaurant has an amazing view. Inside has a nice natural fireplace. Enjoyable to have a late-night tea right beside it. Desert was pretty good too. 100% recommended....

We stopped in here for a couple drinks because Mr. Rose had not opened yet. I had a couple dry martinis which were made very well. The drinks came with some snacks, like an Italian aperitivo. The outdoor seating has an awesome view of the valley below, which is filled with olive trees. The bar appears to be named after the telescope on the balcony that is available for patrons to use. I would say the view alone is worth a visit.
