The Salinas de Fuencaliente is a salt-extraction complex that offers self-guided tours of its facilities and boasts a restaurant with stunning views of the coast. Visitors can park for free and enter without charge, though buses are infrequent. Along the self-guided walk, information boards provide explanations about the different sections of the complex.
Great place to visit. You'll find two lighthouses, a saline and a restaurant. Who could ask for more? ;-)

Great place to visit. A wonderfully desolate place at the very south of La Palma where you can really feel the different weather systems collide together. Great self guided tour around the salt pans, really informative and fascinating to see sea salt being produced. Helpful bus service every couple of hours. When we visited there were no services available but it was great to wander - and then we picked up some of the salt at the airport to take home!

A Must-Visit Gem on La Palma. I recently visited Salinas de Fuencaliente on La Palma, and it's truly one of the island's hidden gems. Observing the traditional salt extraction processes was not only interesting but also quite enlightening. The entire area, beautifully constructed with lava stone, adds a unique touch that amplifies the charm of this place. There's also a fantastic restaurant on-site with delightful service, making it a perfect spot to relax after a tour. I highly recommend making a stop here if you're on the island. It's absolutely worth the visit!

Lovely place , little walk with information boards. Really enjoyed it. Restaurant , bar and information centre with shop were great too. We bought some of the salt there. Lighthouse was being painted on our visit. Would recommend as a little local trip.cheap public bus goes every 2 hours.
Marianna Groves — Google review
Nice local salt producing facility with a cafe, restaurant and shop. I bought 0.5 kg of their standard salt for 0.70 Euro.
Karl Svozil — Google review
An interesting 30 minute walk, free of charge, around these salt pans providing a great insight on how salt is produced organically from sea water. There is a cafe/restaurant there which has good views of the sea and the surrounding volcanic landscape. Accessible by car and bus and attracts many walkers. Worth a visit.
James Brewster — Google review
Drive through banana plantations and lava slopes to the southern most shore of La Palma. See the lighthouse and walk round the salt ponds. Take time to read the notice boards explaining the salt making process. Then visit the shop and by some salt!
Robin Rudwick — Google review
Didn't do tour, just wandered around at sunset. Beautiful area, windier than the rest of the island. Park at lighthouse.
Daniel F — Google review
Good place near the lighthouse. If you go by the guided road then you will understand the whole procedure of producing the salt from the sea water. All this place is surrounded by 2 year old lava from the last eruption..
Cegr Cegr — Google review
Interesting place to visit. It's free parking and free to enter. Buses are infrequent. There are information boards along the self-guided walk explaining what goes on in the different sections. The Cafe/Restaurant is only open from 11am and from Thursday to Sunday. Also, the only toilets outside of the opening times are at the lighthouse at a cost of €2.00 to enter the information centre. There is a small shop on site selling souvenirs and cold drinks.
Terry Hooper — Google review
Interesting site easily reachable from the Airport with a car. The Volcanic setting make it naked and alien. There is a lovely restaurant that is worth visiting. It gets very windy though.
SolorToursBarcelona — Google review
We combined the self guided tour with a walk on the cliffs nearby (there's a really cool arch you can climb to). The self guided tour was informative and we saw a few interesting birds (just like the info board said). There's a Micheline star restaurant at the end of the Salinas loop that serves fancy food, and an info point that sells ice cream and cold drinks. There's also a toilet in the building.
Borbala Benko — Google review
A self guided tour around the salt pans with information boards that explain the salt production. Its free to walk round and has lovely views over the rugged Atlantic coast. It was quite a long windy road down through the banana plantations. The walk was gravely, muddy/slippy in places where it was wet from the salt pans and rain and some bits were a bit rocky so wear sensible footwear. It was interesting to see little pyramids of salt lined up. Some of the pools looked pink. Their was a few different species of birds around and their was plants in the volcanic rocks around the restaurant/cafe which looked pretty. Their was a gift shop selling salt products. It is a short walk from the lighthouses and carparks and nearby beach.

The international, Mediterranean, Spanish, and European dishes are available at this restaurant. The southern tip of La Palma is home to the modern eatery with excellent food that is well-worth trying. The prices are reasonable and the service is exceptional.
Very delicious food in general, with extra props for the dessert which was HEAVEN! I literally could not stop myself from eating before I took a pic ahah Also the view is nice, the mood is calm. The staff is very polite and kind. A really pleasant experience for our last meal in La Palma :)
Mikomi Hokina — Google review
My parents and I enjoyed perfectly cooked mini pulpos with absolutely delicious mojo verde and picon variation on mashed potatoes. The island brewery’s craft beer Ale is tastefully balanced and refreshing. To top it off the Cafe Cortado execution is only surpassed by the genuinely friendly and accommodating staff. We will return.

View and ambiance were top notch, service was impeccable. Octopus was smoky and tender while the salad was okay, nothing spectacular

A really great menu and surprisingly inexpensive. Good fish of the day and a truly wonderful cheese board, plus great local wine. We've been several times, ideal for lunch after walking down from the volcano. Booking advised, it seems word has got around.

Very nice place and very good food. One of the better places to eat on the Island. The Ambiente is very nice as well. The Service was very nice but took long as the place is always very busy.
Joern Petersen — Google review
Excellent food, imaginatively prepared. For the fish and meat eater, the menu has a good range - it is less good (unsurprisingly given the location) for vegetarians, but by going for two starters, I had a superb meal. So good, we went back again within a few days. Very reasonably priced, great service, and above all - delicious!

We were on a trip to the South & Salares of La Palma and run by accident into this restaurant. At 14.30 we had to wait for 30 minutes to get a table. Outside, in the sun with a spectacular view. My partner had bacalao, which was served cold but without any problem was replaced with a new, warm plate. For a non-fish eater, choice of mains was quite limited, but i ordered 2 starters: very tasty veg crumble & grilled cheeses. Lovely deserts (goat milk foam with papaya cream). Nice, La Palma wines, served per glass. Service was a bit slow, but all tables inside & outside were occupied and we were not in a hurry. Highly recommended! Booking a table in advance is clever.
Marjo — Google review
Excellent service, location and cuisine! We had arroz caldosa for 2 full of seafood and more than enough for 3! Wine selection from La Palma with a good and reasonable range of pricing from 10 euros for a bottle of red.
Jon Hayward — Google review
What a special place to have your evening meal in a glass sided restaurant overlooking the ocean and watching the setting sun. Their was also a balcony area for warmer weather and cafe area too. The restaurants has all different salts on display from around the world and their was red wine and lemon flavours on the table along with the natural one. A very pleasant restaurant with a good atmosphere and very attentive staff who were very accommodating of those of us with dietary requirements. The food was well presented, had lots of flavours and textures and was tasty. Their was no rush between courses and portions were generous. I struggled to eat all my food and missed the soup course altogether. We had 5 courses. The only reason that I never gave 5 stars was because it would of been so much better if the hot courses, (soup and fish) were served hot not tepid and my husbands apple cake was a bit overcooked, bordering on burnt. We had a lovely evening. The pathway back to carpark only has subdued lighting so take extra care as although its mainly gravel their are a few rocks. Whilst you are here you can take the self tour of the salt production area, visit the lighthouse and nearby beach. It is a very scenic area to visit with rugged coastline.
Sheila Brooks — Google review
Amazing food with amazing view. Most waiters spoke english and also recommended what to get and which wine to pair it with. We decided for freshly caught fish - they had two options for the day. With potatos, mojo sauce and vegetables. We paid for food and drinks 40 euros for 2 people. They will ask you if you want break as a starter and bring you something to go with it. When we were there it was a chimichuri spread and sour fish salad. It was 1 euro.

We had such a lovely time. It was totally worth the ferry trip and almost passing out on the plane. Hell, if I could afford it, I would pass out every other day... (Definitely try the squid ink croquettes with lime mayo if they still make them; I would forego my voting rites for the recipe.)

Volcanos
Centro de Visitantes Volcán San Antonio is a popular tourist destination that offers an exciting hiking experience up a volcano. The trail leads to a viewpoint that provides stunning views of the crater and clear skies ideal for stargazing. Visitors can also explore the series of recently dormant vents and cinder cones, as well as get an informative tour at the visitor center. Another highlight is witnessing the most recent terranean volcanic eruption in Canaries from the now inactive Teneguia.
Mooi bezoekerscentrum met veel info. Als het kan, dus niet te hard waait, is het mooi om naar het uitzichtpunt te lopen. Het waaide bij ons al aardig maar dankzij de kettingen langs het pad zijn we er toch gekomen. 😉 (Translated by Google) Nice visitor center with lots of information. If possible, i.e. the wind is not too strong, it is nice to walk to the viewpoint. It was already quite windy where we were, but thanks to the chains along the path we still got there. 😉
Margreet — Google review
Overpriced. The exposition is nice but very small. Volcano is the key and indeed it's awesome however not worth 5 Euro. First of all you can have far better for free. Secondly volcano belongs to nature. None one should charge for it. It does not need maintaining nor there is any build infrastructure (unless parking is treated like it, but 5 Euro for 30 mins stay is a bit too much as well).
Krzysztof Drelczuk — Google review
This place is so cool! Such an informative centre with lots of science and history of the volcanoes on the island (right up to the present day with footage of the 2021 eruption!) - great for any kids learning about volcanoes at school. Then walking out around the crater with the viewpoint at the end overlooking the Faro lighthouse and salt flats is a highlight. Makes for great pictures! You can actually walk down there too from just outside the visitor centre - we didn’t do it but I’d say the terrain is easy and it’s all downhill with a bus available back up the hill if you don’t fancy the trek! I only deduct one star because the coffee shop wasn’t open but then we weren’t really visiting in season so that’s being pretty picky tbh. Only 8€ entry which I know some people say is expensive but the money helps conserve the landscape and fund the scientific research into future eruptions so it’s worth it in my book. Also there are some concessions. The best bit is the earthquake simulator - it’s so fun and watching people stand on it and instantly making silly noises was endlessly entertaining! 😂
Becca Moore — Google review
A very rewarding visit a series of recently dormant vents and cinder cones, great views of the most recent terranean volcanic eruption in the Canaries from the now dormant Teneguia, great little Informative visitor centre too and a purpose built spot for star gazing at night.
Lionel Rishi — Google review
Access to the visitors center and the vulcano itself is 5€. You can easily get here by public transport. Busstop is at a 5 to 10 minute walk. The visitors center is small, but very informative. The walk up offers some stunning views.
Ludo Van Raemdonck — Google review
So cool... There is a silly earthquake simulator and you walk along the rim of the volcano. Views are fantastic as per the island standard One thing is I would have liked more information on original inhabitants of the island... I think for price it's excellent and you know that you are contributing to the conservation... There was no wait but there were a fair few people there Oh...the toilets were some of the most foul smelling I have ever experienced, but it looked clean! It was strange... Honestly, it was so awful.
Georgina Satchell — Google review
We visited when it was quite windy. Which was a problem because you have to pay the 5 euro cover charge to the visitor center no matter what and they only let you walk out to the first stop off point. Which is only about 2 minutes away from the visitor center. The visitors center itself is nice and very informative, but I still felt a little ripped off given I couldn't hike any distance on the volcano. So yeah, not terribly worthwhile given the fee.
Erick Hayden — Google review
€8 per person to enter for a short walk. It is a cool place with great views, however similar views can be had by walking the path below and around. The lights/power in the visit centre were not working which made it underwhelming as it was hard to read the info and lots of the displays were closed.
Tom B — Google review
The visitor centre was fascinating, to me, in learning about the formation of the islands, the volcanic activity on La Palma in recent history and the prospect of a new island (in a million years or so 😉). Being able to walk out on the caldera was amazing (it can get windy, so be careful). If you're interested in the islands, their geology and volcanology be sure to visit!
Ian Raisbeck-Blades — Google review
Very clean and interesting visitor center with bathrooms and a shop. We walked out to see the caldera and the views were impressive. It’s a simple, relatively flat walk with some rocks and gravel. People wearing sandals were stopping to get the gravel out of their sandals. I suggest wearing closed toe trail hikers or trainers.
Georgia Little — Google review
Great museum very informative. Friendly staff and amazing views of the salt farms and south coast of the island
Josh Bruce — Google review
We really enjoyed our visit here. It was very reasonably priced and we felt it was value for money. The visitor centre building itself has a lot of signage and information explaining the geology and history of the Canaries and the volcanoes, we found this interesting. We really enjoyed the walk up to the viewing areas, we enjoyed the scenery and the views are fantastic.
Holly Green — Google review
An interesting and educational visitors centre with volcano walk. Entrance fee is 5 euro per person whether you drive or walk in. No extra fee for vehicle. Plenty of parking and extra on the access road. Behind the carpark is a star gazing area with information boards and finger pointer to polaris. Follow the volcanic gravel walk way up to and about half way round the crater rim. Lovely views down into the crater where you can see pine trees now growing. The walk becomes more rocky with chunky steps so after the initial part it may be unsuitable if you have mobility issues and you definetly require sensible footwear. Parts of the walkway have no barrier to the steep drops and some just have a post and chain border, so you need to keep a close eye on younger children. You end at a viewing platform where you can see down to the lighthouses and coast, fishermens village, banana plantations and a smaller volcano and a great view up the coast where you can see the new lava flow into the sea from the latest volcano. On the way back to visitors centre is an earthquake simulator which is a strange experience. The visitors centre has lots of information in several languages about the history of La Palma and volcanoes and some sample lava of different types. Their is data, timelines and videos of the latest volcano eruption in september 2021 which is very emotional to watch. They have current websites telling you about active earthquakes around the world. Their is a small souvenir shop and toilets. The cafe was closed, but it looked like a cafe/restaurant on the access road. Good value for money and well worth a visit if you are in the vicinity.
Sheila Brooks — Google review
We hiked down past two craters to the salt fields and the lighthouses. It was a beautiful day and a nice downhill hike. Bring plenty of water and watch your step, especially at the beginning for about the first kilometer.

Cumbre Vieja National Park in La Palma features an active yet inactive volcanic ridge. The park offers a variety of hiking and biking trails, including the renowned Volcano Route, spanning 17 km along the ridge of extinct volcanos. This unique trail leads to the desolate crater of Volcan San Antonio, located in the southern part of the island. With its diverse landscapes ranging from lush green forests to barren volcanic crags, Cumbre Vieja showcases extreme contrasts.
An otherwordly place. Hills covered in volcanic ash, scattered pine trees. Near the eruption site trees are yellow because of volcanic gases and acid rains. The newly formed volcano still emit gases.

Visited early October 2021. Eruption continues. One of the most exciting experiences of my life. Currently, conditions remain safe as the police keep people at a safe distance.
Steve Walker — Google review
The Cumbre Vieja ( meaning "Old Peak") is an active volcanic ridge on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands, Spain. The spine of Cumbre Vieja trends in an approximate north–south direction, comprising the southern half of La Palma, with both summit ridge and flanks pockmarked by dozens of craters and cones. The latest eruption began on 19 September 2021 in a forested area of Las Manchas locality known as Cabeza de Vaca. Voluminous lava flows quickly reached populated areas downslope, fanning out across settlements and banana plantations, destroying thousands of buildings, and ultimately pouring over steep cliffs into the ocean at several locations to enlarge the island. The volcano went quiet on 13 December 2021, and on 25 December 2021, the local government declared the eruption to be over.

Hotel
La Palma Princess is an upscale resort in La Palma, one of the Canary Islands. It offers a laid-back atmosphere with multiple dining options and bars, as well as 11 outdoor pools with ocean views. The hotel's setting on a volcanic clifftop overlooking the Atlantic provides stunning sunset panoramas. The Canarian-style buildings are surrounded by extensive gardens filled with sub-tropical flora, and there's even a small sandy artificial beach on-site.
A little gem in a sunny and non-windy corner of the island. Book all inclusive, it makes things a lot easier. Pro: Great weather even if the rest of the island is cloudy. Large resort with many options (animation, heated pool, beach sports, tennis, spa, ...). Beautiful sunset views. Not crowded (except for the restaurant) even in high season. The plants look amazing, and there's a certain charm to the whole resort. Con: Location is far from the island's usual attraction (40min drive at least). The restaurants can get quite crowded in peak hours. Rooms next to the main building can get loud because of the evening entertainment.
Borbala Benko — Google review
Fabulous place. Large complex on an incline so need to be reasonably fit. Views are stunning, with a Caribbean feel. Loads of pools. One heated and the rest great to swim in too. Quite a scary journey to get here down a steep cliff, keep your eyes closed. We had an Ocean Suite, amazing room and views. Not sure if we will return.

We visited as a family of five this week and have to say this is one of the best holidays we have ever had. Whilst not in a particularly touristy part of Tenerife, the hotel staff, food and hotel itself was fantastic. The hotel was a little quieter due to the time of year, but this did not detract from the experience. There is a large variety of food available from the restaurants, the drinks are very nice and the hotel is immaculately clean. Our children spent a lot of time taking part in mini club activities and every single one of the entertainment staff were polite, enthusiastic, friendly and had great sense of humour, (the kids favourite was Lolo!!) We will definitely look to be visiting again soon.
Neil Pilling — Google review
Big, but very clean and very well cared for hotel. Food in abundance above average quality. Very nicely located on the cliffs but without immediate beach access (20min Walk). Loved the location of the tennis courts on top of the parking garage! Plenty of activities await. Recommended. If you like it quieter and more secluded...part of hotel sells under Esencia adult only!
Alex Farkas — Google review
Excellent Hotel. Large rooms, well maintained. Seven pools to sit around to enjoy the sun. The staff were excellent and Animation Team kept the adult and children entertained entertained with activities each day. There is an excellent walk around the hotel, which is surrounded by a banana plantation. There are a number of trips you can take from the hotel including visiting the recently erupted volcano. The trips are not cheap. The only negative was the lack of variety in the food for vegetarian abd vegans. I would definitely recommend the hotel
Chandar Prashar — Google review
Pretty good overall. Food good. Some staff could be better. Spacious outside big pools. Lots of sunloungers but hotel wasn't full when I was there. There is nothing around the hotel this will suit some but if you want shops bars and beaches this hotel is probably not for you. The volcanic terrain is stunning and there are good trips that can be taken to explore other areas of the island.
Richard Davis — Google review
What a great hotel and staff. I can why so many visitors return here on holiday. The Adult only hotel next door was so relaxing and could enjoy your holiday if you don't have kids.
peter warrington — Google review
Well away from the bustling city of Santa Cruz and the commercial centre of Los Llanos the hotel is down in the south of the island. It's about 45 minutes from the airport on some amazing roads. The hotel itself is built on layers of volcanic rock so has really steep hills too and from the 7 pools. It has mostly self serve restaurants and although it has a reasonable choice there isn't much choice if vegan or vegetarian in my opinion. The bars are fine and the staff are friendly. If you are looking for a flop and drop Holliday, this is it.
Alistair Knox-Crawford — Google review
Lovely hotel. Nice and clean. Some lovely sunsets and weather has been good so far. If you want to get away from it all in beautiful surroundings this is the place to be, however if you are looking for nightlife etc it is not for you. All the staff seem friendly and can’t fault them. Great walk around the complex, play ‘spot the gecko’ and watch the waves. Very photogenic place.
Steven Wolf — Google review
The location is seriously isolated, with only a Banana plantation for company. Nothing around unless you jump on a bus. The outside resort and buildings are 5 star. It goes downhill from there. We noticed the pools were being monitored. The food was 3* with the entertainment matched with a 3* at best. We loved the island and will go back, not however to the same hotel.
Chris Van Emmenis — Google review
Never seen such long queues for reception desk and dining hall. There are not multiple restaurants as advertised, but overall it's a nice hotel, plenty of sun loungers. Some staff were lovely, some were unfriendly.
Sally Walbank — Google review
Been here 5 times now, love it here, food excellent, staff lovely, reception area great. Christmas in the sun totally recommend it here. Note, no beach here but you do have 6 pools. There is also a adult only on the other side of hotel. Hired a car every time great value, easy to drive around the island. And if your looking for a hiking holiday it's perfect.
Tracey Mills — Google review
The hotel area is very large, so you have to walk a lot. Unfortunately there are a lot of flies. On Saturday after midnight everything closes and there are no shops open within 10 km so you can stay thirsty. The food is average, the restaurant has a lot of uncomfortable things. The hotel manager was rude about parking which was also inconvenient. The whole hotel is confusingly large with unnecessary areas and no sense of being a guest. Nothing is honest or nice. Just big. Weird guy must have designed the complex. Basically we had a good time but will not be back again.
Sunwhere Tenerife — Google review
Amazing and unique experience, place and people and very well run. Cleaning ladies always smiling with a nice word to say and same with the kitchen and service staff. I'd like to give a particular shoutout to Alejandro at the pool bar for the most excellent service I've experienced in my life, the man is truly exceptional. And to Artur at the fitness center for truly helping me with my back issues and giving me highly skilled help. There was only one huge problem with this Hotel that ruined my holiday and forced me to leave early: the animation manager and team (run by a bunch of immature children) They disrespected and persecuted me from the start not allowing me to participate in the activities I was paying for and shamed me in front of other guests for their own narcissistic needs. Absolutely appalling not just for myself but for other guests and total lack of professionalism. I had a talk with the Hotel Director 4 times about this to make sure the problem is solved so no one has to experience this in the future… Which is the last thing I wanted to do but these people are ruining an otherwise perfectly managed and run and superb Hotel
Guillaume Darnault — Google review
Lovely coastal hotel. Very large with lots of pools. Staff are great, rooms are just fine and the food is better than a lot of other all inclusives. Here in December, it's warm until the cloud cover gets a bit thick but then it's just t-shirt cool. It's not overly busy in December so the pools have plenty of beds.

Whilst you are here you can take the self tour of the salt production area, visit the lighthouse and nearby beach. It is a very scenic area to visit with rugged coastline.

Very nice fish for 2 on salt. Real traditional cooked potatos. Only the glass of wine was only half filled as normal in the restaurants!

If you're in La Palma and looking for a delicious mediterranean meal with stunning views, La Casa Del Volcán is the perfect place to be. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, with a speciality wine that's also worth trying. The service is great and the atmosphere relaxed and inviting. All in all, an excellent choice for any traveller looking for a relaxing night out!
Great experience. The food was delicious. I had the fried cheese to start then the goat meat. Both incredibly tasty and a good size portion for tapas. The service was very good and the waiter very attentive. Would definitely recommend

We stopped here for lunch and we enjoyed it. We sat outside with a lovely view of the volcanic landscape and vineyards. The decor inside is lovely. The waiter was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food and we thought it was good value for money. We only had the one course as we were not hungry enough for any more than this.

Great place great staff. The food was ten out of ten. First time I had rabbit and I enjoyed it. Hospitality was second to none. They closed at 9:30 but we left at 10:45, for what we ate (steak and rabbit) it's surprisingly cheap!! 46euros...... but it taste like 100euro!!! I would return there and recommend this place. Also I would recommend to try the roasted goats cheese and the avocado salad. Very seductive food 👌

Our first restaurant at the island and I guess the best one. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing and it was an excellent choice. They cook from local ingredients, the meals were delicious, the service was great, prices still ok. I wish the terrace was bigger.

Absolutely beautiful place!! The food is SO delicious! And they have their own vine! The owner is so kind and friendly! Very cozy place! They even opened one hour earlier for us! Thank you SO much!

It was a damp, cold day but we booked it, excellent food, friendly service...as not good weather and small dining room, it was a.bit noisy as a group in there, but that is not really anything to do with restaurant. Recommend a visit, lots of nice old furnishings.

Excellent vegetarian food - we had the soup, goats cheese, wok fried vegetables. We came back for another meal and the chef prepared us the best veggie paella we ever had in our life. Highly recommend and don’t forget to walk around after dinner to see the stars. The Orion was in the backdrop of thr place (see photos).

You expect a place so close to a tourist attraction to be a tourist trap, but it's nothing like that. Built from the very volcanic stone it sits on, and nestled between vineyards, this place is very at home in its setting. We came here exhausted and hot after trying to drag our 6-old daughter around in the midday sun. We felt slightly embarrassed sitting hot and sweaty amongst the elegantly dressed couples! We expected to be ripped off, but the food is first class and very reasonably priced. We ate the two rabbit dishes and were very impressed. Even the fried eggs our daughter had were made to look and taste delicious! Do book in advance - we were lucky to get a table.

Nice restaurant with great food and good service. They have their own wine which is excellent. The sweet blood sausage is a delicious speciality of the house. The mousse de gofio desert is a must eat as well.

Restaurante la Era is a delightful establishment to enjoy a meal after exploring the salinas. Housed in an ancient dwelling, it is encompassed by a stunning and captivating garden. The service provided by the staff is exceptionally pleasant, and they are more than willing to clarify any uncertainties you may have regarding the traditional cuisine on offer. Their menu features delectable options such as bread accompanied by garlic-infused butter, roasted peppers, and muscles.
Nice place really apreciate after a tour at Fuelcaliente 👍🍾

We had Schrimps with garlic in olive oil. 😋 When Salad of the house was on the table, I saw a caterpillar climbing in the salad. 🤨 Fish of the day, fried Dorado?, it was very tasty, but when I got to the backbone, it was red and not fried enough. 🤥 The beer and the local white wine was good 😋 Customers seemed to be local or Spanish. The garden was welcoming with chairs and tables under shadowing trees.

The worst experience ever. A small restaurant but I would rather call it a bar. We ordered a fish soup but it looked like a chicken one with tiny noodles. We hardly found pieces of fish in it. It was served cold but after attention was paid, it was heated in the microwave. I had to drink beer from the bottle because they only provide wine glasses. They also forgot to bring mojo rojo so we had to ask again. There were only few guests so the BAR was not busy to make mistakes with the order. They also charged us for bread we did not order. The waitress explained that it is normal in The Canary Islands. We ate in different bars and restaurants and they never served us bread if we did not ask. The place is worn and it does not look very clean. There are 2 rooms but all the people set in a small one. Never again.

If Bar Parada is a must see and stop in Fuencaliente, La Era should be a second stop. Loved the food yet service was s bit hectic. Definitely will make part of my pilgrimage every time I'm visiting the point of the arrowhead.

Wonderful place for lunch after visiting the salinas! It is an old house, surrounded by a beautiful and charming garden. The service is very nice and they will explain any doubt you may have about the traditional cuisine. They offer bread with garlic butter, and after we took roasted peppers and muscles. For sharing, following their recommendation, we tried the grilled pork which was tasty and soft. As dessert, we enjoyed a lemon mousse and coffee at the terrace. You can’t miss it!

First visit to this establishment. The entrance from the parking lot is a bit adventurous, requiring a swim through the pool. Upon arrival, there were only a few patrons present despite having made a reservation. Although it is a small venue, it has received positive reviews. My companion had an intriguing starter which they enjoyed, while I opted for the flavorful garlic prawns that required some bread-dunking.
Cash only! I went twice! But I was staying close by. The staff are so lovely and the food was just super yum . House Wine is yum yum and cheap (for a london resident anyway) The food has interesting twists on spicy, sweet, savoury; but it all works... I was so shocked when my goats cheese had actual custard, but it worked! Excellent views (would be better if the overhead lights were a bit dimmer.

Zero stars! Had a terrible experience here. First the restaurant is sometimes just closed without warning/notice on usual opening days. When we finally found a day it was open we were publicly yelled at and threatened with police. It happened because we asked if they could cook the meat in our burger a bit more so it wasn't completely raw. When they refused to cook the meat more we asked to just pay for the wine and water so we could go find food elsewhere (the meat was way to raw for our taste, and we normally enjoy a rare steak) - the chef yelled at us in front of the other guests in the restaurant and threatened us with police if we didn't pay for the (untouched) burgers. So be careful if you visit - you risk public humiliation because of the chefs wild temper.

(Translated by Google) A magical little corner well hidden on La Palma. Accessing for the first time can be a bit difficult, but once inside, it is an incredible gastronomic experience. The many diplomas of Chef Vidal that can be seen at the entrance are the prelude to a food service in which everything is taken care of down to the smallest detail, always based on local genre and of great quality and flavor, treated with care and care. by the staff, and with stunning views. Perhaps at times they can be overwhelmed, but in general the rhythm is good and there is a great atmosphere among the dining room staff, which is also transmitted to the dishes. In short, a visit more than a must. With all these precedents, the price is more than adequate (you can't ask for more for less money). We will be back. First time at this eatery. You risk a swim getting in to the restaurant from the car park! The entrance we found was via the pool. Very few people eating when we arrived; we had booked a table. It's only a small venue but notice it had good reviews. My darlin's starter was something interesting (can't remember what 🤣) and she (remembers) enjoyed it. I had the garlic prawns; they had a kick and I had to dunk my bread 😋. My darlin' went for the rabbit and me, the fish. Both delicious. Wine suggested by the waiter but not to our palette although at the price, it should have been nectar! The wine was the only let down. The food was good and the staff were friendly. Well recommended.

Authentic Italian food. We had two delicious Italian Pizzas, mixed with tomato, cheese and tuna. Owner is Italian who has lived on the island for decades. Quite a contrast with the 'Italian' take away with noisy fast food on the other side of the road.

We stopped in for lunch during the eruption of Cumbre Vieja. Because of the volcano, most of Fuencaliente was completely without power (and even the cell towers were out so there was little to no internet access) and as such, the only menu options were things that could be cooked in their wood fired oven. Even so, we wanted to support the small businesses in the area, so we had lunch. WOW!!!! We were not disappointed. The pizza was absolutely amazing. And wood fired pizzas tend to be a hit-and-miss thing since it can be difficult to get the heat right (we have found many times the crust ends up being burned when the top is just starting to be done). Not here- the older gentleman (owner I think) made it just perfectly. Any he was a pleasure to talk to. This is somewhere we will absolutely return to (and hopefully get to try some of the other menu options).

Very yummy pizza. Owner is a very nice guy that speaks good English and I think German too. Place is very small. Wine selection is a little disappointing. The chocolate-coffee dessert didn't taste like anything. But if you are looking for an alternative after eating fish the whole time you are for sure at the right place for a good pizza.
