Lake Iseo, nestled between Como and Garda, is a picturesque S-shaped lake in the Lombardy region. It is renowned for its tranquility and low tourist density. The highlight of the lake is Monte Isola, Europe's largest lake island, offering a car-free environment and a serene natural setting. Surrounding the lake are charming villages, vineyards, and historic landmarks like castles and monasteries.
Beautiful just like any other lake in North Italy. A great one day trip from Milan.

What a fun place. The scenery is so incredible! Of our two week stay in Italy it's one of my favorites that we visited.

Beautiful scenic and restful. Took the ferry to the island and it was even more beautiful scenic and restful.

We have been to all the Italian lakes on our way to southern Italy many times. But last year we discovered lake iseo and were delighted. Apart from it's many lakeside restaurants it also has a delightful island with more restaurants and lovely walks. There are frequent ferries offering magical mountain views. It is also far less expensive than any of the well known lakes What is not to like and enjoy.

Beautiful lago, one of the smaller but still as beautiful lakes. You can get a ferry across to mountisola where you can walk up the top, swim in the lago grab a lunch or just stroll around the island. It is beautiful a little busy at times but does bot distract from its stunning scenery. Parking was hard in a few places on the mainland as was quite busy when we went. Have to wear a ffp2 mask on the ferry which they sell with tickets.

Absolutely gorgeous lake. Quite warm, easy to swim in. There are quite a lot of waves, posed a challenge for my family with supping but we got the hang of it rather quickly :) There's loads of boats creating waves and especially the panorama boat causes big waves. Sometimes that's fun, sometimes it's not. During my stay on a camping by the lake it was really really hot and the lake was the one great place to cool down.

The Lago Iseo is a very big lake... You can walk.. you can turn around the lake by bike.. or you can rent a little both. In some parts of the lake you can also swim and take the sun.. very nice and beautiful place !
Tania “Downwind” Carboni — Google review
It is in the north of the country in the Val Camonicaarea, near the cities of Brescia and Bergamo. The lake is almost equally divided between the Provinces of Bergamo and Brescia. Northern Italy is known for its heavily industrialised towns and in between there are several natural lakes. Lake Iseo retains its natural environment, with its lush green mountains surrounding the crystal clear lake.[citation needed] There are several medieval towns around the lake, the largest being Iseo and Sarnico. A notable tourism sector has emerged. A road has been carved into the side of the mountains that travel to circumnavigate the entire lake.

Sights & Landmarks
Santuario della Madonna della Ceriola is a historic chapel located on a hilltop, offering breathtaking views of Lake Iseo and its surrounding villages. Accessible via trails through the woods or by ferry from the Brescia side, this 14th-century sanctuary provides a unique 360-degree view of the lake and nearby mountains. While the climb can be challenging, visitors are rewarded with an amazing vantage point showcasing the beauty of the area.
I started my hiking from Siviano so it took me awhile to reach the Santuario. The trail isn’t hard, you can do it in 1 hour. It took me more than just because it was impossible to not stop and admire the views. If you’re going to Iseo is a must do for sure.

Beautiful place. You can go up the mountain by bus and then go about 25 minutes to get to the church. A ticket to the bus costs 1,50 euro. Next to the church there is a free toiltet. During the walk there are seats and tables if you want to take a rest. The views are amazing.

This took us 1 hour and 25 minutes to walk up the tarmac road. You can get a bus up to cure but even the walk up the last bit is challenging and cobbled. You do need good footwear, water and the right clothing. The views are spectacular and worth the effort if you are able.
Anna H — Google review
Superb views but the climbing is hard if you walk from lake... There is also a small caffe/bar where you can fulfill Your non-spirit energy.
Lukas Volf — Google review
A beautiful outlook that shows you the beauty of Lake Iseo and all the surrounding villages. I got off the ferry at Peschiera and hired a bike (€3.50 first hour + €3 for hours after) and I then rode the bike to Cure and this took ~45min of extremely tough cycling, but there is a water fountain at Cure so I could recover. Then another 15-20min walk to the summit. There are great picnic spots close to the top so definitely bring some food and there is also a water fountain by the church to refill your supply. I spent 15min walking around taking photos and enjoying a rest! I then returned to my bike in Cure and had a relaxing cycle around the rest of the island that was mostly downhill or flat. I returned to Peschiera in 2 hours since first arriving at the bike hire and then walked west around the island for a great swimming spot!

Wow, such an amazing view. the entire lake is visible from this amazing vantage point. and all the of the near mountains. if their full glory. worth every meter of hiking. It's a big of a climb, so it's much better to take the bus to Cure (1.5 euro per person, check the timetable near the ferry) and continue on foot from there.

Last year in August, I had an amazing time at Sensole Locanda Contemporanea. Giovanni and his team were exceptional! The hotel, while small, exuded a warm and cozy ambiance. The meals, particularly the breakfast, were fantastic, and the prices for dinner and snacks were reasonable. It felt privileged to witness guests in speedos heading towards the hotel's private beach just a few meters away.
We made a reservation for food and had a wonderful time today. The food was fantastic and service was great, even if the weather wasn’t! Thanks again

We had a mixed salat for 6€ which only consisted of lettuce and 1 tomato. The grilled vegetables were cold. They charged us an extra 2,50€ per Person just for seating (usually you get some bread when paying the fee). Worst value for money we got during our trip.
Eva — Google review
Well, longest wait ever for our dish, it was clear they weren't able to cater for all the people staying there. I don't know much about their hotel business but if the restaurant is of any indication I'd stay away from that as well. Montisola is full of restaurants so I'd advise you go elsewhere. The quality of food was average, nothing really special, I've also seen cleaner places.
Simone Messaggi — Google review
Lovely, quaint Hotel with kind staff. Most of their team can speak basic english which was a huge help. The food is amazing and well-executed. Their rotating menu allows for experiencing fresh, local fish, pasta, and other dishes. Also go enjoy a drink on their rooftop patio at sundown; it's a truly beautiful view from there. Private beach is also a great perk as it gets busy on weekends around the island. Location is also great as its in a quiet, small neighborhood right on the walking trail around the island. Overall, a good getaway for couples but not sure it's the destination for kids. 😅

We spent a great week here last year in August. Giovanni and his team are the best! The rather small hotel offers a really warm, personal and cozy atmosphere. The food (especially the breakfast) is great and prices for dinner and in-between snacks are reasonable. Passing the restaurant‘s guests in my speedos on my way to the private beach of the hotel (just a couple of meters away) made me feel really privileged. The island, the lake and the surroundings are great too. You can go hike, rent a bike or a canoe or explore the many towns and villages on the lake‘s shore which you can reach conveniently by ferry. There are so many things to do! So - absolute recommendation! Go have the Italian Summer vacation of your life 🇮🇹🌞

Lovely place to spent few days and relax. The hotel and rooms are furnished with lots of love and soul, added by the awesome and friendly service by Giovanni and his team. They serve delicious local food. Private rooftop terrace with a marvellous view over lago d'iseo and a private beach/garden with olive trees directly at the lake not far away from the hotel. Very good food quality with many local fish specialities (and much more) available on a nice ambience with a terrace at the waterfront. I ordered the local fish antipasti and it was just delicious. Homemade desserts are also worth trying; I had the semi freddo and it was very tasty. That with together with very nice waitresses and a fast service... What else!

A very expensive experience. Food expensive, tasteless and with poor apresentation. Supermarket ravioli can be better. Possible to count the 13 pieces of ravioli, Very high coperto for the worst bread better. Had to wait for the service and couldn't sit in the place I wanted, which was free.

You pay for the place. 11€ to have a pasta dish that we could make at home is expensive. The bread is not fresh and you pay a fee of 2.90€. I paid 20€ for a meal that should be half of the price or less. Not recommended at all

Decent food. Nice staff. Great view, which is what you are paying for of course. Fish was a bit over cooked. The food came very quickly which always make me suspect. Although, I think they were just prepared for the lunch rush from the ferry that arrived shortly after we ordered. Don’t go out of your way to get here but if convenient it’s ok food wise.

Bad experience with the young lady working outside : we had booked a table on the lake, but when we arrived, she said it was not available and already pre-booked. We asked for an alternative seing that 2 people were about to leave, but she said it was not possible. We stayed in the garden for a few more minutes and were shocked to see that 2 people with no reservation managed to get the table that the couple was leaving. When we challenged the lady, she became agressive and very rude. This person should not work in the hospitality industry. Too bad this employee ruined the moment as we previously had a good experience of this place earlier this year.
Maylis Henry de Villeneuve — Google review
The menu seems to be ok but the quality of food is low. Ravioli are not fresh and is clear that were frozen... a crime for an Italian restaurant. I do not know how people can rate the restaurant 5 stars or even 4, it is clear that their expectations for a touristic restaurant are extremely low. Would I ever consider to com back or recommend ? We were attracted by the reviews. We ordered local dried fish and grilled salami (this is how the waiter explained the dish). Both cane with polenta and were 17-18 eur each. It felt quite expensive but the reviews were good, so we thought we try. The grilled salami dish looked like a plate of pork pieces which were extremely salty and uneatable. Fish was also very salty but that was expected as it said salty but not about the meat. Both came on small plastic plates (again for the price felt strange). We told the waiter and she apologised and said this is the way they are cooked. We did not argue and simply asked to take dishes away. Then we were asked to pay inside. I do not speak Italian but I think the waitress (who was really nice) asked someone in the kitchen if she shall charge us for the dishes we sent away and have not eaten and he said yes and she charged us for the drinks and the food. I did not complain and paid 43 eur for 2 glasses of wine (small ones) and 2 dishes. I think a good owner would at send a replacement dish or offer something else on the house to improve the situation. This wasn’t a cheap place. Really disappointed.

If you don’t like salty don’t order the fish! Local catch is sun dried and salted (or viceversa , I forget). Delicious platters of fish ( salty) served with grilled polenta (good), a platter of cured meat and cheese to die for. Unpretentious and honest and very satisfying.

Dorada Lago is a lakeside restaurant with a great atmosphere and delicious food. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including freshly made pizza in a stone oven. The portions are generous and reasonably priced compared to those in the town center. However, the proximity to the road can be bothersome due to loud scooter traffic. Despite this, the service is excellent and the restaurant provides clean facilities.
Great food. Everything is extremely fresh and tasty. The service was excellent although the hot and busy day. The restaurant is on the island boardwalk a few minutes walk from the fairy docks. They serve a variety of foods and the menu is pretty impressive. The place does not have air conditioning so in warm days it is not too comfortable but they do have cieling fans on the balcony. The bathrooms are clean and equipped. We had a wonderful family lunch there and would highly recommend.

Pizza would be the better decision! We had the food menu. Food was enough but not delicious over all. Fish smelled weird, pommes without salt. Redwine in the menu also cheap. But the flair on the island was nice. Maybe Pizza or noodles the next time. No recommendation for seafood.
Kevin Seiler — Google review
Great restaurant on the edge of the lake with good atmosphere and food. The portions are a tad larger and prices a bit lower than in the town centre. The only annoyance is the proximity to the road, where at this point, the locals can finally get going on their scooters so they whizzing loudly by.

We ordered Pizza cause‘ we are in Italy, just to differentiate the Pizzas. 🫣 The Pizza was freshly made in a stone oven, which is good. The meat on my pizza was overpowering, so I really wasn‘t able to finish it. But the 4 cheese Pizza was good. Price is reasonable. But I think the people working here can‘t speak english, so it was a little difficult as I can also not speak Italian.
