Park
Nature & Parks
Toneri Park, located in Adachi ward in northeast Tokyo, is a vast 60-hectare park that offers a wide range of leisure facilities. It boasts sports amenities such as tennis courts, a baseball field, and an athletic field. The park also features a plaza, pond, and BBQ areas for visitors to enjoy.
Such a beautiful park, people can have picnics, do day camping, family gatherings and so on. For camping you have to rent the campsite. Especially during cherry blossom season it's a must visit place. There are several paid parking areas nearby the park.

What a beautiful park perfect for picnic 🧺 It’s so spacious and you can do many things here like fishing, barbecue, playing, etc.

Very nice spot for viewing the cherry blossoms in the full bloom. It is highly recommended this place for family.

This park is massive. It has so many attractions for kids from all ages and there's no way they'll even have time to try everything out. I love how massive it is and there's something for everyone. I didn't even get a chance to see both sides due to it's size. I highly recommend visiting if you haven't yet.

Amazing park with lots of benches. Visited in the spring, and they had a lot of sakura and nemophila.

It’s safe to say, one of the largest park in The city. It’s well maintained, a lot of spaces and playgrounds. There are spots for camping as well. In another word, to spend quality time with friends or family, this is one of the best spot. The afternoon here can be quite relaxing.

One of the most beautiful parks in Tokyo, more beautiful than Yoyogi! Glad that I have a park as beautiful lile this nearby! You can go for bbq or tent in the summer. The park got bigger since a new area was opened in 2021. Ther’s an athletic area for children.

A huge park that has lots of playground for kids, BBQ area, lots of trees and ponds. There is also bird watching ponds. I saw lots of people walking big dogs and bird watching aficionados. There are no convini stores nearby (there is the park BBQ shop) nor fancy coffee houses or eateries.

Spacious park with a fishing pond, lots of people fishing on the weekends. There is also a sled you can rent to slide across a grass incline. Good place to take for kids activities.

If you do not want to go all the way to Hitachi seaside park to see Nemophila flowers, a small version of it is there in Toneri park. It is a huge park and less crowded lots of greenery and very close to the Toneri Koen station in Nippori-Toneri line.

Buddhist temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Nishiarai Daishi Sojiji is an extensive Buddhist temple complex in Tokyo with beautiful gardens, ponds, and vibrant seasonal flowers like peonies and wisteria. This charming temple hosts a wind chime festival in July, and visitors can enjoy various food stands on the way to the grounds. However, accessing the temple may require taking an extra bus from the nearest station.
Beautiful to explore in all seasons. The grounds are fairly spacious as far as temples in Tokyo go, so it’s good for toddlers/small children to wander around. The pond area to the left of the temple is so scenic. Very quiet on weekdays. We enjoy getting our new year fortunes here. Lots of food stalls and atmosphere on weekends and holidays. Don’t miss the wisteria in April - it’s gorgeous.

One of the largest temple I've visited in Adachi City. It has food stalls inside, the tree's during the winter is really looking good, the ponds are fill with fishes and there are a lot of statue to explore. I hope to go there in spring as well. A nice place to spend few hours with family or friends. Recommended for any foreigners who loves to visit shrine.
ridwan arefeen — Google review
It’s nice! You can walk around and spend an hour or so here. Please note, there are almost no restaurants around the temple and I could only find one convenience store which is hiding near the station. Enjoy 😊
Straight-Up Japan — Google review
Charming temple, went in July for a windchime festival. Several food & ice cream stands leading up to temple grounds. Wasn't as easy to access compared to other shrines & temples in Tokyo, had to take an extra bus from closest station so that could be intimidating for tourists.

Stunning architecture , gardens , koi ponds , best days are 8, 18 or 28th of any month , Sundays and festival days 0bon and new year Eve , or if you want to go and have the place nearly all to your own any week day is very quiet .

04/11/2021 I visited here for its famous Peonies' Garden. Luckily wisterias has just bloomed and late blooming double-flowered cherry trees are in full bloom now. 10/18/2020 This year is my first unlucky year, so I visited here to remove the bad luck.

Adachi Nishiarai Daishi Sojiji is the biggest Buddhist temple in Tokyo’s Adachi special ward. It has a vast compound. Besides, the space of the main hall is charming to walk around. The main gate, monuments, small ponds, and a few small shrines on the right were attractive.

Higashi-Ayase Park is a well-designed park that connects a series of parks via footbridge. The park boasts baseball fields, lakeside paths, and playgrounds for children. It features numerous ponds, water wheels, and other attractions along a long walkway instead of being circular in shape. Located near the station, it's perfect for an evening stroll or leisurely walk any time of day. During sakura season in springtime, the park is stunning with blooming trees.
A big beautiful park near Tokyo budoukan. I went here during the sakura season and it was so pretty. There are benches everywhere to sit and relax. Many sakura trees, many families were doing picnics there, talking, eating and drinking. There is a small lake and bridges and cute ducks. You can walk your dog, cycle, and picnic. There are playgrounds too for the kids to play. The park is long so people can sit anywhere. There are public restrooms and convenient stores nearby. It is pretty and clean. Totally recommend.

Neat little park in a suburban area. Quick walk from train station. Went to annual Iris Festival, small but nice, family-oriented day out, with stalls, activities for kids and food vans.

Really good park. The park is structured as a long walkway instead of a circular shape. It has a lot of ponds, water wheels and other attractions. Also close to the station. Very good place to enjoy an evening or have a walk. During sakura the park is very beautiful with lots of blooming trees. Also there are areas for children to play and also a baseball court. Highly recommended for family and couples.
Ajay M — Google review
It's a fairly large park, spanning multiple city blocks. Walking the park at a leisurely pace would take about an hour, although if you walked straight through without stopping you could get through it a lot faster. For kids there are a several play structures, but the best ones are found on the west side of the park (it's close to the Police box if you look at the Google map). There are plenty of waterways for the kids to play in (there's no water park though). For adults, it's good for a nice stroll or picnic. There's a swimming pool found on the East side of the park. There's also a couple baseball fields found on the East side and one in the center of the park. There's not a lot of big open fields The park would be a nice park to visit for families. The kids may get tired walking the entire park, so you may want to pick which part of the park you want to go to and go straight there. The west side is the most kid friendly. Near the centre of the park there's a very nice pond and stream area to walk around and even picnic.

For a park in a built up area, its pretty excellent. We were down the narrow part, near the Tokyo Budokan where they have some playground equipment. There is also wading river and splash pool, with good shade. They have toilets in 2 different areas along the narrow strip.

Seafood market
Adachi Market, located in Tokyo, is the city's second-largest seafood market and is known for its high-quality wholesale fish and local seafood restaurants. Unlike the more famous Tsukiji and Toyosu markets, Adachi Market doesn't suffer from large crowds, making it a hidden gem for both locals and overseas visitors. The market specializes in seafood, fish, and marine produce, attracting restaurant employees and locals who come to shop and trade with fishermen.
I came here after careful research. It is opened to public only on the second Saturday of the month, which coincided nicely with my period of visit. A very local experience that I very much enjoy. Sadly I can't buy them because the seafood sold are usually in large portion and I am an overseas traveller. You get to see many locals coming here to snag their favourite seafood at this place .

The Adachi Fisheries Market might just be one of Tokyo’s best kept secrets for both locals and overseas visitors alike. Unlike its far more famous counterparts like the former Tsukiji Market or its replacement, the Toyosu Market, this market doesn’t suffer from unreasonable crowds. Perhaps it’s for this reason that the local vendors here are really accommodating to visitors. On my first visit, I received smiles and warm greetings. By my third visit, some vendors greeted me with snacks and hot tea! Many vendors patiently allowed me to photograph them and even shoot videos while they went about their daily work.

In the first place, even if 30 or 50 private cars were parked by regular customers, the premises were empty. Why are general vehicles prohibited from entering? The old man at the entrance could just hand out a slip of paper for lunch parking. It seems that there are various arrangements, but the number of sashimi restaurants is proportionally empty. There was no meat in the soup and no taste. The sashimi is small. There is no friendliness from the staff. When we left at 1pm, there were only two customers in the store. Should we let the market continue to decline along with restaurants, or should we listen to the voices of the general public and allow it to prosper? The more you can make a comeback, the better things on the market will be if you make some ingenuity.

Zoo
Nature & Parks
Adachi Park of Living Things is a small zoo and aquarium located in Adachi City, Tokyo. It offers interactive experiences with various living creatures, including insects, fish, amphibians, and birds. The park also features an amusement area with traditional attractions like a ferris wheel and go-kart circuit. Visitors can enjoy hand-feeding animals and exploring the butterfly house. Additionally, there are covered fishing ponds on-site.
Recommended place to visit, both for the young and old. Seeing the animals inside is a nice experience. They have a firefly room available for viewing during the daytime but there are slots so you need to sign up. I think it’s available only in the summer. It’s not as great as the actual thing but it’s probably the best chance you have if you can’t go out of Tokyo. The entire place is actually wonderful, too. About 1-2 hours is enough to see everything.

There are lots of space and quite a big field to spend morning or evening with friends or family

A cute little park, it has more insects and water creatures compared to land animals. The land animals seem quite healthy and happy. But the tanks seem a bit small for the shark and bigger fishes. For just 300 yen per person, I’d say it’s a pretty good park! There is also a huge area for picnic and a nice playground for kids. They also have small domesticated animals like guinea pigs and cats.
Majesta — Google review
The butterfly garden was very beautiful and large in contrast to the other animals, which are unfortunately all in very small cages. The bird outside constantly flew into the fence, which is a sign of stress. It came across a bit like far-reaching glory.
Sanne Dost — Google review
I was really surprised at how good this facility is. It’s a local endeavor, so I didn’t expect much; but it it turned out awesome. They have poison dart frogs, exotic snakes, Amazonian fishes, tropical plants, butterflies of all sorts, birds, beetles, and even a kangaroo, among various other animals. It’s excellent for young children, too. If you’re a resident of Adachi-ku, one day per month is a free visit. Just check the website for details. All in all, it’s a well put together park and is definitely worth a visit, especially if you live in the general area.

I have mixed feelings about the place. It was quite interesting and I enjoyed my time there. I am a bit concerned with sizes of the cages that animals and insects inhabit. My family has been coming here ever since I was a kid living in this neighborhood. Came to eat after more than a decade, the taste is still there. Not much to say about this place other than it has one of the greatest tonkotsu ramen. Every bite is filled with memories! I would definitely be a weekly customer if I lived closer.. the tonkotsu soup is just one of the best in the country, I think. I haven’t been able to find anyone else that makes the similar soup. The thick, rich soup just pairs perfectly with the thin menn. Looking forward to being back soon!

Without question the tastiest tonkotsu outside fukuoka. I have been to Japan 4 times in 6 years always spend over 1 month & always my first bowl of ramen is here in Tanaka when I land and get sorted in hotel. The broth is beyond creamy and delicious, It packs so much flavor it needs nothing added to it such as white pepper or chilli oil. ( but if like me add some half way though ) Noodles are nice and fine so they oborsb the broth exceedingly well. And excellent decision to have small instead of thick noodles. The flavor is just so creamy and silky smooth. This is ideal for when the cold winter months hit and you crave ramen and would like something to warm you up and fill you belly. I would recommend the spice mince they also sell ( turns your ramen into like a spicy miso ) recommend it - 200¥ Please look no where else but Tanaka shoten. 10/10 ramen 🍜 10/10 service 10/10 - my personal favorite ramen in Japan

This is my kind of ramen! Great tonkotsu broth and the thin noodles were good too. I got the Negi Char Siu Ramen. The negi (green onion) are great! The char siu a bit salty so perfect with a beer. But no beer! I saw it on other reviews menus so maybe they stopped serving or don’t start until later at night? I arrived at 18:30 with maybe 30 people waiting in line. Moved pretty fast as I got my bowl about 18:55. Order off a menu while waiting in line (no machine) then pay at the register when done. Place is big! Lots of families with kids and table seating.

We wait for 2 hours to get in. Highly recommended to come before the store open so you can get all the menuu. We didn’t get the 上タン as it’s sold out… You can only order tongue, harami and ロスト once. The tongue is beyond this world, highly recommended to order two portion of ロスト and tongue 😝 When I wait, I thought i will only come to this store once. But once eating the food, I know I will come again later. The food is too good, no wonder they said it’s the best yakiniku in Tokyo. A must try!! Staffs are all friendlyy 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Amazingly delicious Yakiniku with friendly service staff despite our language barrier. The meats were amazing and we are definitely looking forward to going back again! 上ロース (loin), 上タン (tongue), harami, karubi, 生野菜 (vegetables) were great! Space can get a bit cramped if sitting on the tatami and also can get smoky when the cooking starts but there is decent ventilation - just be mentally prepared.

This old restaurant is one of most famous Yakiniku place in Japan. The location is so inconvenient and they don’t take a reservation meaning I didn’t have a chance to visit until yesterday. We set meeting at nearest station then took a taxi for 20 mins THEN 1 hour waiting outside of restaurant under this intense heat... Crazy... However I admit it’s worth waiting. Each dish is carefully prepared and tasty. Even the desert!

According to my nephew who s studying in waseda here, this is his best yakiniku in town, normally need to wait long but we are lucky to come on this rainy day so no wait. This 10000 per head set is not cheap but value for money considering the gigantic quality meat. The lady owner is especially very nice giving more meat than we should have had, definitely come again!

Stamina En is always my BEST yakiniku restaurant. It never disappoints me. Might get quite some line if you go before 7 pm but you risk have specials being sold out if you go too late. The transportation might be the only issue as you need to hop on a bus or cab after you got off the train. They can help hail a cab after the meal if you need. What impressed me the most is when I went the first time after I got off the train, I gave the cab driver the address and he just took off without looking it up in the navigation - Basically every driver knows that place. Cash only.

Nice hormone yakiniku shop but the location is not. Since there is no reservation system you have to queue to get in.

Conveyor belt sushi restaurant
Kura Sushi Adachi Kohoku is a popular spot in Adachi, offering a wide variety of sushi at affordable prices. The restaurant is conveniently located near Kohoku station and is known for its fresh and delicious sushi. While it can get crowded during peak hours, especially on Fridays and Saturdays, the overall dining experience is enjoyable. With a diverse selection of sushi available for 100 yen each, it's a great place to enjoy a budget-friendly meal with friends.
Ah .... it was so crowded at dinner time. We had to wait 40 min. Other than that the sushi is fresh and delicious.

Good value for what you get. Sushi starts at 125 yen and that includes salmon, scallops, iberico pork, etc. To spruce things up, every 5 plate you feed into the plate disposal slot, a game plays on the screen where you stand a chance to win a gashapon that contain a small badge. I had an issue where 2 of the plates I fed into the slot didn't count and I told the worker there about it. When I checked out and paid bill, she was kind enough to give a free gashapon for the accounting error. Small gesture but it made me smile as I left.

Although this was my only kaiten sushi experience in Japan, it was an enjoyable one! Sushi was good and cheap! The little random game of chance played for one of those gashipon toys after every 5 dishes was fun to watch.

Really good place with many kind of sushi for 100yen. Good location (next to Kohoku station) and pretty big. Though be careful, friday night and saturday are REALLY BUSY because of japanese families. Last friday, at 5:30pm we needed to wait around 40 minutes to get a table. Prefer to come the week days or late night the weekend

If you are saving money, but want to eat some sushi then this is the right place to visit with your friends. Available prices, variety of choice, good quality, fresh and tasty fish! Beers (¥500), juice (¥250~) and sweets (¥150~) cost you more then sushi!

Izakaya restaurant
On my initial visit to the renowned and long-standing izakaya establishment in Kitasenju, I was immediately impressed by its popularity. Despite arriving around 20:00 on a weekday, the majority of seats were occupied; however, I was fortunate enough to secure a table near the entrance. The ambiance within the establishment exuded liveliness and an enticing atmosphere. Notably, numerous individuals could be observed relishing their drinks solo at the counter while maintaining an impressive drinking pace.
Well kept beer and tasty food, my first time at an izakaya in Japan and I was not dissapointed

(Translated by Google) First visit to this famous long-established izakaya in Kitasenju. Around 20:00 on a weekday, the seats were almost full, but luckily there was a table near the entrance! The store is lively and has a great atmosphere. There are many people drinking alone at the counter, and they drink well. There is no appetizer, so if you are solo, you can order only what you like, and the food is served quickly and is delicious. All the staff members are also lively, and the sense of distance is appropriate, so even for the first time, I was able to get into the atmosphere. I felt the power of the long-running shop. Thank you for the meal. At the time of its founding, there were almost no izakayas in Kitasenju other than this one. The store is crowded with drinkers. It really feels like Kitasenju. (Translated by Google) Immediately at the Kitasenju west exit "Nagami of Senju" It feels like an old-fashioned public bar! There are many drunk people, mainly uncles and grandpas. It was full on this day because we hadn't declared an emergency. There seems to be no doubt about such a store. Come to the store while thinking so. The stewed system was delicious! Around this time, I feel that there is almost no loss after boiling. The specialty is "Senju fried", a dish of surimi with onions. Crispy and fluffy. Thank you for the meal! Old men are happily drinking during the day lol I ordered a specialty item to go with my sake. The taste is good. Senjuage (with garlic) is cost-effective...lol Thank you for the meal and the recommended ramen to finish the meal ☺️ (Original)
