Nature & Parks
Izu Panorama Park is a picturesque mountain park that offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji from its cable car, viewing terrace, and restaurant. In addition to this, the area boasts various attractions such as the UNESCO World Heritage site Nirayama Reverbatory Furnaces, Mishima Skywalk - Japan's longest pedestrian suspension bridge, and the beautiful Kawazuzakura cherry trees.
The only way to go to the top is by cable car. Since the weather is good we saw the whole beauty of Mt. Fuji. There is also coffee shop and restaurant, you can have your food while enjoying the scenery.

Stunning views from the top! There's also a café and restaurant at the top so you can have a meal/drink whilst enjoying the scenery. Ropeway is too expensive, but you can get a decent discount if you book online at least a day earlier. Online tickets are valid for 3 months so you can pick a day with good weather.
Shifluzzaman Quddus — Google review
It's absolutely worth going, what a fantastic discovery. Probably the best view point for Mt. Fuji. Cable car feels very steady even on a windy day.
Riccardo Cena — Google review
Wonderful place but it felt a bit overrated to me. If your sole purpose is to see mount Fuji, then you can try other close view points like Fuji Yoshida. The rope way is worth a ride though. It's probably the longest and the steepest I've ever ridden.
Farhan Shadique Arronno — Google review
Worth every dollar, every minute of your life making your trip down to enjoy the view of MT Fuji and much more. One feature I like, was there’s a “Live” camera that shows Mt Fuji if it’s blocked by cloud- helping you to make better decisions in terms of taking the cable ride
Ojisan ?Hiroshi? — Google review
It is another very beautiful view point of Fuji. Take the cable car to see Fuji on the mountain 🏔️. You will see the view of Fujisan with the sea. Another thing I really like is the delicious ice cream 🍦. There are many photo angles. Walking and enjoying the scenery can only be continued by soaking your feet in the onsen. Happy 😊

Amazing view of Fuji. Tasty ice cream at a decent price! Was quiet when we went on a Friday afternoon.

Pretty place! Food is average but the view is amazing! Gondola is quite pricey (2400 yen)
Aulia Oktadiputri Listiyadhi — Google review
Approximately 7 min ride on the Ropeway. The view was great but could have been better if clouds did not cover Mt Fuji when view from that direction. Enjoyed the view, fresh air and the raspberry ice-cream with the crunchy cone!
LG Tan — Google review
Great sky trolley ride and the view from the top would have been amazing if the clouds didn't obscure Mt. Fuji. Great snacks and coffee at the top with shopping at the base. Worth the visit to see Fuji.
Scott Mar — Google review
Gorgeous view. About 2000yen round trip on the cable cars (if you pay via credit card, always choose to pay in yen!) Take number 13 bus which is right outside Izunagaoka station, the stop is at the city center right before the onsen stop then walk for 8 minutes. Bus drivers speak minimum English; best if you show Google pictures for confirmation. There are also taxi outside the station. There are restaurants at the top of the park. We didnt see Mt Fuji as it was rainy but still worth it.

A must do in izu. Terrific views of Fuji. Go early and you will get in quickly—no waiting! Tour busses come then the line is much longer.
LauraLee Peppler — Google review
Awesome views of Mount Fuji! You can go up the cable car to the park for about 2,500 yen. Up there is a coffee shop and udon restaurant and other neat things to buy. We went to the udon place and it was pretty good ( 1,100 to 1,300 yen). If you are into hiking, there are also trails, playgrounds and shrines that you can check out. Overall great place to spend an afternoon.

Izu Panorama Park is a scenic attraction located in Izu City, Japan. This park offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, forests, and the stunning Sagami Bay. Visitors can enjoy lush gardens, hiking trails, and seasonal flower displays, making it a popular spot for both nature lovers and tourists seeking relaxation and picturesque landscapes. Large vehicle park is available and per adult it's 2500 yen for a rope ride
Sadesh Chandrasekera — Google review
Worth the visit eventhough didnt manage to see Mt Fuji in all its glory cos it was covered in clouds. There is a shrine, playground, cafe and various walking path and viewing points from Panorama park. They have discount coupons for shops and eateries on top the mountain and at its base. Cable ride was fun with view of the city below and mountains in the background.

I just use google map to checkout nearby popular sightseeing spot and found this place and was not disappointed. We the park isn’t very big but very comfortable. We were lucky to have a clear Mount Fuji that day. The restaurant there was okay (the taste is fine just don’t expect something very surprising) but you can eat with a Mount Fuji view. There is free car park at the cable car station. The souvenir shop sells general stuff and a bit pricey (but if are not going to any other sightseeing spot, just buy it there)

Great views. There was not too many people that I could really enjoy the park. Saw some lizards on the trail. Highly recommend this place.

世界遺産の駅! World Heritage station! This is the station from where you walk to Hansharo which also includes a micro brewery of the same name! For the railway buffs: Izu-Nagaoka Station was opened on May 20, 1898 as Nanjō Station (南条駅 Nanjō -eki) as the terminal station for the first phase of construction of the Sunzu Line. The line was extended onwards to Ōhito on July 17, 1899. The station was given its present name on May 25, 1919. The station building was rebuilt in 1986. Izu-Nagaoka Station has one side platform and one island platform connected to the station building by an overpass. However, only the island platform serving tracks 2 and 3 is in normal use for passenger traffic and is used for bidirectional traffic for both normal and express services. The station building is manned and has automatic ticket machines, a manned service counter and shops.

The Nirayama reverberatory furnace is a significant historical site that dates back to the Edo period, specifically built in 1857. It features brick-and-steel chimneys measuring 15.7 meters and serves as a crucial landmark for marking the beginning of Japan's industrial revolution. Despite the language barrier, visitors can learn about the iron smelting process through an English brochure or by watching videos in Japanese.
I visited this site lovely place and good staff I wasn’t disappointed at all
Arvin Narayan — Google review
Well, for a recognized and designated world heritage structure, it didn't really exude any of the "wow" factor. And to be honest it was a lot smaller than I expected, details and information around the furnace were quite lacking for visitors The tourist center did put up some decent exhibits (all in Japanese though) and information in regards to the history of the industrial revolution in Japan and how the furnace was a symbol of Japan's initial attempts at kick-starting the steel/metal industry. The surrounding area is surprisingly nice. With a tea plantation terrace nearby, and nestled in a quiet, quaint neighborhood.

I was treated very kindly when I came I to the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnaces Historical site. I do not speak any Japanese and the employees were so helpful by giving me an English brochure to learn more about this very important site to mark the beginning of the Japanese industrial revolution. The video was in Japanese but I understood the iron smelting process. Fascinating! I like history.

Since becoming a world heritage site, there have been lots of upgrades and it's now a lovely tourist attraction which won't suck your wallet dry overwhelm even the oldest member of your party.
Lloyd Wakefield — Google review
The furnace itself is a few small brick towers. It's not much to look at. There is a modern museum next to it with a video explaining the history. It's really just a place to stop and look at on the way to something else.
Victoria Ostrovsky — Google review
A bit disappointing From a customer’s point of view, the admission fee should be reduced while it’s being restored. I could not see anything.
M S (Heyhey) — Google review
Disappointing! I respect the historical value of the furnace but I was extremely disappointed about its tourist information center. I am a foreigner living in Osaka and my hobby is to travel to different UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This time my target was this furnace in Shizuoka so I emailed the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace Tourist Information a week before if it's open on the travel date that I planned. They replied yes and gave me the opening hours. I went as planned only to find out that the whole furnace building was under construction covered with scaffolding and thick net. Very disappointed about the dishonesty of the information center. They could have just warned me like "yes it's open but the building is covered due to construction". I went all the way from Osaka spending 2-way shinkansen tickets just for this one (I didn't go anywhere else as I have traveled almost all places around). REALLY DISAPPOINTING SERVICE. The reason why I emailed prior is because I know and understand that most UNESCO-acknowledged buildings in Japan are under reconstruction taking advantage of the pandemic season. I hope the tourist information center was MORE INFORMATIVE that's why they are called information center in the first place. Tourists go and see the furnace not only for historical value but also for its architectural value (which we cannot see as it is covered). We don't go there to pay and to listen from tour guides about the history. We could search the history on the internet! In the end no beautiful picture for my UNESCO Site album. To the information center, please be informative and not just make business. I could have rescheduled my trip after the construction if only you told me the truth. Do not waste people's money, time and effort!

Well worth visiting if you're passing within 30 minutes or so. Would be better if you speak Japanese, as the interior museum has no English translations. There where many guides available when I visited (August), who had an interesting English script and were very friendly.

On the middle day of March, during a three-day consecutive holiday, I visited 拉麺屋 一匹の鯨, a ramen restaurant. Upon arrival at noon, there was a wait of 15 minutes as four groups were ahead. Despite several other shops nearby, I managed to enter this particular establishment. Inside, there were three counters accommodating around 6-7 people and two tables for pairs.
(Translated by Google) It is located in a corner of the space where stores are lined up, about a 10-minute walk from Izu-Nagaoka Station (shared parking lot available). We received a wide variety of menus from very pleasant customer service, this time R30 Ramen. It's a really delicious ramen with a refreshing and clear soup that is entwined with medium-thick noodles and permeates the bones without any stagnation. The bowl, which is served as a single item, is also very carefully made, and it serves to make up for the lack of punch in the ramen. The taste of char siu is also perfect. Unfortunately, I can only get in the way when I'm on a business trip, but I definitely want to stop by with my family when traveling to Izu Onsen in private, so it's so cozy and cozy that I want to come back again and again. I put the parking lot in a place shared with other stores, but the impression is that there are few vacant spaces. What impressed me was that they opened the store a few minutes before the opening time. Since there are customers waiting, it is nice to be taken care of so that they can open it for you even if it is before the scheduled time. I felt that the name of the dish could be a little easier to understand, but it is explained carefully by looking at the menu and in-store notices (such as R30, which cannot be associated with the taste from the name). I ordered the miso ramen, which has received high reviews. It was served without a long wait. About 25 seats in the store are full in about 10 minutes after opening. There are several groups of waiters outside. The miso ramen was very delicious with a standard, unconventional taste. It's not unique, so you can eat it without getting tired of it, and you'll want to eat it again and again. The mellow soy sauce ramen that my wife ordered was also delicious with a mild soy sauce soup. The owner said that the taste was self-taught without any training experience, but there are many items and I would like to try other ramen next time. The girls on the floor were nice and I was able to eat comfortably. Since this is a store that sells salt ramen, there are usually a lot of refreshing soup-based menus🍜 This time, we ordered the ever-popular ``R30 Ramen'' and ``That day's backfat soy sauce ramen/thick noodles.'' ``R30 Ramen'' has a very light salty taste that will appeal to both men and women of all ages. Personally, I find it too bland and unsatisfying, but it seems like a lot of people like it. I was a bit hesitant to order the ``Back Fat Soy Sauce Ramen'' and was looking for something rich, but it turned out to be a light soy sauce ramen topped with a relatively light back fat (lol). In any case, there was a tatami room and children's ramen, so it was a restaurant that would satisfy families with children. Payment is by cash only. It's a family-run ramen shop with a long line of people next door, so don't make a mistake. During lunchtime, you write your name and wait outside to be called. Since it rotates quickly, it can be inserted relatively quickly. The soup is made with anything from salt, soy sauce, miso, and pork bones, topped with back fat, sour or spicy, and also has tsukemen (tsukemen). I couldn't decide, but I ordered the R30 ramen, which seemed like the best option. The soup is clear and clear, with a layer of oil on top that doesn't make it sticky. The noodles are medium thick and straight, made by a noodle factory in Kyoto. This is different from the usual Pattsun thin noodles, and has a smooth texture. The strong aromatic toppings include thinly sliced green onions, Japanese ginger, and fresh garland chrysanthemums. That's why they say it's R30. Honestly, what do you think of shungiku? That's what I thought, but it's really good if you soak it in the soup as per the store's instructions and eat it once it's a little stiff. When I ate shungiku salad, I thought it was a waste to only use it for sukiyaki, but I was surprised to find that it also goes well with ramen. The large, fatty and soft char siew, and the added half-boiled flavored egg, were traditional but good. The portions seemed a bit lacking, but they also had gyoza and mini rice bowls on the side, and if you were wearing school uniform, you'd get a large serving for free on weekdays. This applies to school uniforms, even if you look like an old man. It's no wonder that the restaurant is loved by the locals, and it's no wonder that customers of all ages and genders come here all the time. Although it cannot be said to be impressive, it is worth a visit if you are nearby. I also tried their signature apricot tofu, and I think it's an exaggeration to say that if you don't eat it, you'll regret it until your grandchildren come along, or that it's the most delicious in the universe...It's certainly mild and well-made for a ramen restaurant dessert, Don't compare it to authentic Chinese food. The main ramen is R30 (R used for age restriction) ramen, which is an adult taste. I had soup because my companion asked for it, but myoga was effective and it was a novel ramen. I had seafood tonkotsu ramen with more garlic. In Tokyo, it was like green leaves (with a little more punch), and the thick seafood and pork bones were a delicious soup. Satisfaction is quite high. ・ Mr. Hashimoto, a soba restaurant, is in a place that you cannot reach if you are traveling normally. It happened, but it was great to be able to know and stop by. There was a line outside when I left the store. After all it is famous 💦 In addition, the joy has increased. ・ I would like to stop by when I visit Izu again. It was a treat. #Japanese food #Soba #Tempura #Tendon #Kakiage #Zashiki #Soba restaurant Hashimoto #Shizuoka gourmet #Izu gourmet #Izu no Kuni gourmet #Shizuoka lunch #Izu lunch #Izu no Kuni lunch #Sightseeing spots #Eating spots #JapaneseFood #Soba #Tempura #TempuraBowl #Kakiage #Zashiki #SobaRestaurantHashimoto #ShizuokaGourmet #IzuGourmet #IzunokuniGourmet #ShizuokaLunch #IzuLunch #IzunokuniLunch #SightseeingSpot #EatingSpot (Original) <21年09月> 【かき揚げは噂通りの旨さ。

(Translated by Google) I've been inconvenienced since my child started crying and I was waiting in line. I'm sorry. My wife and I took turns eating inside the restaurant. After taking my seat, my meal was served at different times. Not only the soba noodles but also the kakiage (kakiage) were both filling and very satisfying. Next time, I will visit again especially when my child is in a good mood. Thank you for the delicious meal and your thoughtfulness.
