Yellowknife

Yellowknife is the capital city of Canada’s Northwest Territories. It lies on the north shore of Great Slave Lake, with possible views of the northern lights in fall and winter. Exhibits at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre, by Frame Lake near downtown, highlight the area’s human and natural history. The Ingraham Trail, a scenic drive, crosses the Yellowknife River and heads east to lakes and trails.

Museums
The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre is a spacious museum that serves as the historical and cultural archive of the Northwest Territories. It overlooks Frame Lake and boasts well-organized displays covering various topics such as natural history, European exploration, diamond mining, Northern aviation, and Dene and Inuit culture. Additionally, it hosts temporary exhibits showcasing exceptional soapstone and whalebone sculptures by Inuvialuit artist Abraham Anghik Ruben.
Admission by donation. Excellent museum and events are often hosted, be sure to check website. I managed to catch an incredible local piano concert!

Fantastic activity to do while Yellowknife. The exhibits are well laid out and give some good insights into the local history and culture of the Yellowknife region, as well as other parts of the NWT. Entry is free, but donations are recommended and deserved.
Steven Baryluk — Google review
I always recommend this spot Yellowknife visitors! It gives you a great look into the innovation and rich history of the NWT, as well as the importance of Indigenous people not just in the past, but today and everyday. As a resident of Yellowknife I go here to remind myself of what an amazing place the north is and all the people who call it home. Main art exhibit changes every six months. Admission by donation.
Jennifer Rafferty — Google review
Lots of informative stuff to walk around and experience about the history of Yellowknife, indigenous peoples, languages, travel routes, wildlife in the area and settlers. Some of the exhibits are interactive with experience through sounds, visuals, touch etc.
Jose Joy — Google review
Highly recommend for anyone visiting Yellowknife to visit and get to know its history for 1 or 2 hours!! It’s free admission but please donate at entry if you can. Multiple exhibits about the Yellowknives Dene, its people as well as the wildlife. Lots of fossils and beautifully preserved taxidermy, as well as the oldest rock on Earth (4 billion years old!)
Jane — Google review
A great place to start if you are interested in learning NWT history. Well laid out and informative.
HJ Marshall — Google review
There is no admission fee, but it is well worth it. A place where you can learn and feel a lot from historical records and exhibits. take the kids
INHYEOK YUN — Google review
Contains interesting artifacts from the history of NWT, including real fossilized remains of extinct species. It's a beautiful building, free admission, and the person at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful. I think I spent about 45 minutes to an hour here going through four galleries. The Frame Lake trail also starts right outside the building and makes for a scenic walk afterward.
Janice Chau — Google review
The staff at the front entrance was knowledgeable & friendly. He had a little introduction he probably perfected over his time working here. He was nice & even held my bag from shopping earlier behind the counter. I appreciated that. I enjoyed this museum & will come back again to see if anything changes or updates. Beautiful displays, I recommend you check it out.
K M — Google review
One of the attractions in Yellowknife with free entrance, there is a donation box right at the lobby area. I would say spend at least 30-45mins here.
edt ttt — Google review
The museum has free entry. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The self guided tour is enough for you to understand the history dating ages in our past to know the origin, culture and history of Yellowknife and its role in Canada.
Kanchan Kumar — Google review
A great fun place to spend an hour or two, learning and seeing the interesting history and development of the town and area. A lot of fun displays and artifacts and galleries for all ages. Even has a children’s playroom with plenty to do. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Free admission, plenty of parking. Clean and well maintained.

The NWT Legislative Assembly is a government office in Canada that showcases an impressive building design, honoring and incorporating elements from 11 different indigenous languages and cultures of the region. The self-guided tour is highly recommended, providing easy-to-understand information about the exhibits. The assembly's behavior towards each other during sessions serves as an example for respectful conduct while discussing governance matters. Additionally, visitors can enjoy good food at the cafe inside the premises.
Beautiful building. Totally worth going for the tour daily at 10:30 The painting collection in the meeting room is world class.

Excellent tour that speaks about the building design and how it ties into the indigenous peoples of NWT. Amazing to learn that a government body in Canada is built around its people and respect for its indigenous peoples and their wisdom. This is a beautiful building with brilliant architectural design that weaves in different aspects of 11 different nations and languages of NWT. Highly recommended!

Wonderful free tour, approximately 45 minutes, of this beautiful building. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable as she talked us through all the details of symbolism throughout the building and on regalia.
Lindsay Harkness — Google review
Nice place to visit when in Yellowknife. It is possible to attend to a session if you are when they are having one.
Samuel G. — Google review
This is well worth a visit. The self guided tour is easy and informative, the exhibits interesting and the building is impressive. We listened to a session and it was great to see elected members behaving respectfully to each other. We could all learn from this. The cafe has really good food too.

Oh, I see. Here is the review optimized for Google Maps Revit: I had a great tour of the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly. The guide was knowledgeable and passionate, and the tour was well-organized. We learned about the history, politics, and 11 official languages of the territory. The building is also beautiful, and it was interesting to see the main assembly hall. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone interested in learning more about the Northwest Territories. It is a very informative and enjoyable experience.

This place gives free tours on most days at 10:30. I went on one. The content of the tour was very good. It was really interesting learning about how the construction of the building relates to the style of politics in NWT. The tour guide was amazing. She was authentic and presented the material well.

Nice walk in the area. The downside is no water-pipe or sewage access. The WB water truck company is a scam. 5 am to 12 pm expect the roads to be blocked by trucks. The trucks are very loud, often flood home owners.

Sights & Landmarks
Bush Pilots Monument is a historical site located in Old Town Yellowknife. Accessible by a short flight of steps, it offers stunning 360-degree views of the town and surrounding lakes. The site also serves as a landmark visible from most parts of the old town. In winter months, visitors can witness cars and people on ice roads and planes taking off/landing on ice runways. Though the staircase is slightly hazardous, exercising normal caution will ensure safety while enjoying the beautiful panoramic views.
Visited in early April. A short flight of steps gets you to the top of the hill. I would go just for the view, if not for the history. The place offers a 360° views of Old Town Yellowknife and the lakes around. In winter months, you can see cars and people on ice roads and probably a plane or two take off/land on ice runway.
Jose Joy — Google review
Just a 100 steps up the hill by stair case. It’s doable and the view is worth it. You have a 360 degree view of Great Slave Lake, Old Town and the newer parts of Yellowknife. Dress warm because the wind was really strong up there. We spent maybe 10 minutes before heading down.
Tina — Google review
Very beautiful place with amazing panoramic views. A great place to sit, relax, enjoy the view, and listen to music 👌👌👌
Arya Janjani — Google review
Bush Pilots Monument is "the landmark of Yellowknife" you must visit. Climbing to the top of "The Rock", you stand at the intersection between the historical Old Town and the later-developed downtown, viewing the past and the present Yellowknife in all its glory. The vast and beautiful Great Slave Lake lies before your eyes. If you're lucky, you can watch the floatplanes take off or land on the water. The island across from you is Jolliffe Island, with many cool floating houses. I do think such a great vantage point should be better maintained. The garbage can doesn't seem to be emptied for a long time, and wastes are flying everywhere which affects the photography. There is also vandalism/graffiti which ruins the monument and the scenery. It can also be cold during winter.
Kevin Chuang — Google review
Beautiful view of the city and surrounding area, and has a bit of interesting historical information. Worth a stop
Steven Baryluk — Google review
A must-visit landmark if you're in town. Beautiful views.
Janice Chau — Google review
A Lovely look out point with a great view. The staircase is a bit treacherous, but exercise normal caution and you'll be fine. Once at the top you can see for miles, and from the ground this site is visible from most of the old town, making it a good landmark.

It's a great little hike that is very family friendly. Easily add this and boulder gardens to your day to make it worth your trip. Neat formations and easy trail to follow. Convenient parking, and there's an outhouse at the beginning of the trail.

A 360 degree view of Yellowknife’s old town, back bay and houseboat bay. Reminders of Victoria, BC Mount Tolmie. The steps aren’t as many as it appears, they are close together and the view is all worth it! I went on a cloudy and windy day but it wasn’t very cold, perfect fall day!

Classic Yellowknife, moved away a few years back. I came back with my little guy to go visit family and took him to the public skate which was identified on their website as specific times. Showed up and ice-skating is cancelled for the whole week for something else. no mention on the website, sad to see Yellowknife hasn’t changed much.

Greek restaurant
Elke's Table on 47th is a charming downtown eatery that offers a delightful fusion of German-Mediterranean cuisine with a focus on local fish and chips. The small, bistro-like restaurant is located in what appears to be a regular house, adding to its quaint appeal. The menu features an array of dishes such as schnitzel with mushroom gravy, battered white fish, and homemade desserts. With limited seating, it's advisable to call ahead for larger groups.
Amazing food, really good portions. And friendly service.
Jason L — Google review
A cozy place to grab a great meal, we had the fried eggplant followed by the schnitzel. Both dishes were delicious and portions were on point for the price. The self serve drinks are a nice touch and I like the laid back way of ordering your food as well. This young entrepreneur has a great thing going.
Justin Rivera — Google review
I don't exactly care for their new ordering system. It requires the use of your cell phone to place an order. How do you expect people to tip before knowing the service? I visited with my wife and infant. The place has very poor ventilation, and the fryer smoke constantly filled the dining area to the point where I was coughing and eyes were burning. Remember how I said you ordered on your cell? How can I order a glass of water when I'm dying from smoke inhalation?! I felt bad for my little one, and ended up going for a quick walk out in the cold to let him get some fresh air. It's a shame because the food is really good. I had the schnitzel burger and fries. Another downside to Elke's is that they lack variety for those who don't eat pork. No chicken schnitzel, or vegetarian options. We ordered the Buttercream cake, and was told the last slice was already sold. They replaced it with a peach cobbler, which tasted flavorless and doughy. Was very disappointed with dessert after a good schnitzel. Waited approx 45 minutes after ordering until food arrived. Small dining area. Reservations recommended for dinner service. Street parking only. Bring an oxygen tank if you plan on eating here, the schnitzels are tasty, and the coffee is from a proper espresso machine. If my review helps, please leave me a 👍 Cheers 🍻

I hardly give a full 5 stars, but this place is amazing. The food is so good. The location is easy to find and the host was so very nice and did a great job catering seeing as she was the only one there doing it all. You can sit either indoors or outdoors and both are decorated uniquely with a great vibe. The food is a German-Mediterranean cuisine and it's proportions are an excellent size. I highly recommend it if you are in Yellowknife.

It was my first time trying out German food and it was so good. Tasty food and good portion! Must-visit in Yellowknife😸 Cozy little restaurant, with an atmosphere almost feels like I am at gramma’s place.

Small venue in a modified house with pretty decent traditional German and Mediterranean food. Was like a good home cooked meal. Has a few different European import beers available
Steven Baryluk — Google review
Great old fashioned dining experience. The restaurant is the front of an older home, and it's a perfect complement to the food. The menu is accessed from the table, and you order from your phone. Someone will greet you when you come in, the rest is up to you. There was a mix of German and Mediterranean fair. Don't expect anything over-the-top and pretentious...this is good simple food perfectly prepared and with generous portions. The potato salad is worth the extra.
Craig Coburn — Google review
Cozy little restaurant where you can savour German cuisine in Yellowknife! The Jägerschnitzel (Pork schnitzel topped with homemade mushroom sauce) was delicious! The ambiance was great with German tunes playing. I liked that I could order my meal directly by scanning a QR code, so I could take my time to choose what I wanted, and I was quickly served by the cook and owner. Some might find this odd, but it's great ingenuity in 2023! Good luck and prosperity to Shania, I will definitely come back! Prost!
Frédéric-François Desmarais — Google review
A lovely little spot where German, Irish, and Greek cuisines meet! Ordering is by a QR code but otherwise a very homey feel, the mismatched chinaware made me feel like I was in my Gram's kitchen again. The food was excellent. If you're looking for a down to earth, non-chain or corporate diner Elke's is a great choice!
Naomi Cole — Google review
It was really really fantastic! It’s a little pricey but the food is well worth it! I had the schnitzel with mushroom gravy and extra salad instead of fries, with tartar sauce on the side, as shown in the first photo. In the second photo, I got the battered white fish, with fries, salad, and a side of tartar sauce. As someone who eats fish a lot, I promise this is a dish. Well worth it! Great portion sizes as well. I will be back to try everything on the menu! Fantastic food and great service. 1000% recommended!

One of the best fries I've had in my life 🫶🏻 I had a little schnitzel problem and it was kinda hard in a couple spots, but it was a good burger, also they have a killer tartar sauce 🫶🏻

This was a very pleasant and delicious experience. The food was a mix of German and Mediterranean - and it worked so well! As a one person operation , the service there was spectacular. A Taste of Saigon offers a variety of Vietnamese standards such as noodle soups and rice bowls in a casual setting. The eatery is known for its friendly staff and warm, delicious dishes like beef and chicken pho, fried wonton, and fresh salad rolls. While the rice dishes received mixed reviews, the noodles were highly praised. The restaurant provides a cozy spot to enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine in town.
BEST Vietnamese Pho in town!! We ordered beef and chicken pho, fried wonton and also a fresh salad roll. The taste was very nice and very warm. The staff is friendly and if you find yourself so cold in YK, please pay a visit and enjoy a warm soup here!

Great place. Large enough to receive so many guests. The food is good and affordable. The service is fast and the waiters and waitresses are very nice. I am rating them a 4 instead of a 5 just because they don't have beer. In vino veritas est.

This is a nice restaurant however the food in my opinion is just so so........the wonton soup is complete non sense, the vegetable is raw, not cooked, so hard to eat, the won ton is tidy.........the rice we order the pork chop is no taste..........as not so good, not even take the picture of the food
Afanta Meow — Google review
Tasty Vietnamese. Very similar to places I’ve gone to in Edmonton. Really enjoyed getting deep fried wontons with my meal. The wait staff for fairly friendly, but not super attentive. I had to ask for my bill, then waited about ten minutes before wandering up to find out how to pay. Food was tasty though!

Delicious food with Vietnam coffee, I recommend #13 raw beef that one & 22b that one on the menu. Visiting twice during my trip.

Their noodles were much better than their rice. The pork chops that came with the rice were a little thin and dry. If you're coming here, their noodles would be a better choice. Their shrimp stuffed chicken wings were pretty good.

Bullock's Bistro is a charming and rustic spot known for its seafood, chowder, fish & chips, and beer. The restaurant has gained popularity over the years and is adorned with customer notes covering its walls. With only 36 seats inside, it's recommended to make a reservation, especially during the fall and winter seasons.
Whenever in Yellowknife, anyone SHOULD never miss dining at this place Bullock's Bistro. This is my second time, today, in a year. Im happy to meet the most energetic Jojo, a great chef, who connects well with customers and is very transparent at her services. I always crave its Fish and Chips. Jojo never missed providing the best taste, from homemade tartar sauce to fita dressing to home made bread and of course excellent customer service. Thanks to her co-worker too. This place is truly amazing. Nothing fancy but all real and dedicated 🤪. They serve so generously. My pictures would show what it takes to be blessed dining here.

This place is an institution. Any tourist must come here and try their food! I highly recommend you make a reservation as they fill up quickly. This is the type of place where you look at the menu but ignore the price. The size of your portion of fish is so big it often hangs off the sides of your plate. Recommend getting your food with both fries and salad. The fries are fresh and perfectly seasoned. The salad is simple and perfect. Do not over look the sauces! They do not over take the flavors but compliment them to perfection.
Alie Desrosiers — Google review
First, I would say, if you can, make sure you go at a time when it’s not super busy; because if it’s busy it’s pretty chaotic, even if you’ve made the reservation. I see on here it’s been given some bad reviews because of this. But if you go when it’s going be quieter, like when it first opens up (noon) or before 4 PM then you’ll have the most amazing experience! I was in Yellowknife for 13 days and I had five meals here! Working my way through the fish menu. And they were all absolutely beautiful!!! The BEST fish I’ve ever had! The price looks a bit pricey (but that’s the norm at all places in Yellowknife) but you absolutely get what you pay for so it is totally worth it! I had the trout, the cod, the whitefish, the Arctic char (which is like a salmon), and the inconnu fish. It’s all local fish, and they were all absolutely mouthwatering, melt-your-mouth delicious! I HIGHLY recommend this place and if I get back to Yellowknife I will eat there lots and lots again! It’s an absolute gem! And it’s in Old Town Yellowknife, which in itself is an absolute gem! Bring a marker pen so you can add that you were there to all the cool graffiti and things posted on the walls and ceilings from all of its visitors!

Love this place! Always a must stop whenever I am in Yellowknife! The food is simply divine!!! The whole atmosphere and the staff is amazing. It is always packed so call ahead if you can to reserve a table. You must try their homemade sauces! A definite must stop if you are in town!
N.G. Studio — Google review
Very busy place, reservations are highly recommended. Fish was fresh and delicious. I had the pan fried inconnu (local whitefish from the Great Slave Lake) and tasted the deep fried cod from my friend. Both were winners. They have homemade sauce (on the table) which was slightly sweetish but tangy and flavourful at the same time. The place is full of history and people who have visited from all over the world have left their names and/or notes on the walls or ceiling. Quite interesting. They have local beer and service is quick and efficient considering there was one cook who doubled as cashier, one waitress (Paige) and one busboy for the whole restaurant. Highly recommend!
Anna Maramba — Google review
Great spot for fish, offered up three ways: deep fried, grilled or pan fried. Uses a lot of local fish and also some imported (e.g. Arctic char). Salad dressing is made in house and tastes amazing. Serves locally brewed beers too. Definitely worth checking out because it has never disappointed me (and I’ve eaten here several times). Good atmosphere and good times! Don’t forget to sign your name too.

Went to this restaurant 2 days ago, it is a small restaurant and very fast be filled up. But no line up outside......maybe tourist season is not yet there...........we ordered grilled trout and deep fried Cod. I didn't taste the trout but the Fish and Chips is very good for me. The Fish is not dry, very juicy, just missing some spice on it. the salad source is very good too. Overall it is not bad even we have to share the table with others.........
Afanta Meow — Google review
The food was amazing as I heard from everyone. However, the order took SO LONG — I arrived at 12:10pm which is 10 minutes after the open hour. Then we ordered at around 12:30pm and the food came out at 1:30pm. This is the longest time I’ve ever waited just for food to come out. One family who came earlier than us left without having food. And one other problem I guess is that they never tell us the estimated time for food to come out. You just have to wait until the food to come out without any info. They need to know how long does it take for food to get ready, at least an estimate. Food was good but the service was disappointing. I saw some people booked a table in advance so got their food earlier than us even they came like an hour later — if you want to have food here, make sure to book a table.
Yeeun Kim — Google review
This little local restaurant was amazing! We ordered pan-fried fish and buffalo rib eye steak. The pan-fried fish was really delicious but the steak was hard to chew. (I ordered the steak medium well done, but my steak was cook as rare.) If I have a chance to visit there again, I would order different types of fish dishes not a steak!
Christine — Google review
A fun, very casual joint to get fresh, locally caught seafood. Super friendly crew, esp Allison - host, waiter and chef all at the same time! Portions are huge and can be easily ordered family style. Fish and chips are a must as is the fresh fish - we had Arctic Char, perfectly done with the buffalo ribeye. Chowder was great on a chilly-30c day.
Tri Chiem — Google review
Bullock's Bistro is a must-eat location when you visit Yellowknife. The fish and fillet specialists cook the freshest fish caught right at Great Slave Lake. Friendly, warm, unique, and comfortable are some of the words that I think of when at BB. You may think the menu appears pricy, but trust me, the fish and portion is well worth it! You should also consider that things don't come easy in the north, especially during winter. I had the Great Slave Cod - Pan Fried (you can choose between Grilled, Deep-fried, and Pan-fried), the tender and juicy fish, topped with the tasty sweet sauce is simply unforgettable. I wanted to order their chowder, but that is apparently available during winter. This is an excellent way to experience Yellowknife's lifestyle and culture, dining at Old Town's local restaurant. It is more than the delicious fish. You may want to reserve ahead or come early due to lots of people wanting to eat here, tourists or locals alike.

This is a really fun and storied spot in Yellowknife. I got the deep fried whitefish which comes with fries and salad. The fish was fried perfectly with a light, airy bit crunch batter. Portion size is very big. Service was good and it’s a lovely spot with a lot of personality. Make sure to check it out if you can.

Food was very good, we enjoyed so much. Very popular and busy place, restaurant was packed with people and unfortunately some of the menu items were sold out. I hope will be able to try them when I go back to Yellowknife next time.

Someone wrote on the wall “fish any fresher, you’d be on the boat” and I have to agree. I got the grilled lake trout with fries and the house salad. I also tried the deep fried cod and pan fried pickerel. The fish is juicy and the salad is fresh. The place is small and cozy. It was quite full and when I arrived for lunch on a Saturday in late September. I got seated at the bar without a wait but bigger parties might need to call ahead or join the wait list for a table to become free.

Food was great and real fresh! Best grilled cod and buffalo i had! Not the greatest seating experience, but what can you ask for more in this town.

This place was packed!! Not only is it full of tourists, but the locals were lined up too so you know it’s good. We had the fish and chips with the cod and the pan fried whitefish. The cod was one of the best pieces of fish I’ve ever had.

The most famous restaurant in Yellowknife. Reservation is highly recommended. It serves super-size locally caught fish dishes.

Lovely atmosphere and highly frequented by tourists of the world. Locally sourced fish. Portions could be bigger for the price as we finished and were still quite hungry. Servers quite eager to see us leave after an hour there as they have quite the waitlist.

Almost everyone here recommends this place. It’s popular for sure. I came off peak hour around 2:30 and is almost full. I heard there’s line outside during busy hours. They don’t have a lot of seatings. I got the deep fried white fish. It’s good. The fish is fresh and tender. Just the fish skin has a bit of fish scale so it’s a bit annoying to eat. The fries are good. I tried the pan fried white fish and it’s pretty good too.

Korean restaurant
Korea House Restaurant is a family-owned establishment that offers authentic Korean cuisine served quickly and with a friendly attitude. Popular dishes include chicken or pork bulgogi, Japchae, and Goon Mandu. The combo box is recommended for those who want to try a variety of flavors. Despite being the only Korean-inspired restaurant in the area, it's worth visiting for its quick service and delicious meals like bibimbap, bulgogi, kimchi stew, and tofu stew.
Delicious food and incredibly kind staff! The atmosphere is lovely, and it's a great place to dine in and hang out or grab some food to go. Thank you Korea House for always being amazing!

Each meal was $20. We ordered the bulgogi and soft tofu stew (spicy). Both tasted authentic and delicious. We paid at the front and picked up. We weren’t expected to tip, the staff member bypassed that when she gave me the terminal. We observed a lot of locals and tourists came by. Overall good experience.

This is the most delicious food ever of all time. It’s always a pleasure to chat with the owners/chefs during the short wait for my bulgogi!

Great taste from Korea, very big portions but not the cheapest option in town with most dishes being 22$, probably a good plan to go with others and share different dishes.

I would give 5 star for the taste. But much higher price and smaller portion (compared to Toronto). We got Beef Rib Bone soup and spicy tofu soup with seafood (3 shrimps actually), totally $40. the food came in take away boxes even though we said that we were to have them in store when we were ordering, which I don’t feel very good about.

Food is good, all fresh made. Often busy around lunch and dinner times. If you use the menu they have posted on their Facebook page, it is out of date and some items are no longer available. Take out and dine in, but no delivery.

I really enjoy the food here, and understand that costs will be higher due to the price of groceries here. Ultimately, it is about flavour for me and they deliver. I should have taken pictures of the dishes but was eager to dig into them and forgot about the photos. The staff are always welcoming and friendly to my wife and I too, which makes good food even better. Today I ordered a spicy noodle dish and they cautioned me it was very hot. I wanted to try and said to go ahead. Whew. It was spicy. Tasty yes, but wow did I sweat. :) I recommend the restaurant! Supporting local businesses is important to me, and this one has earned my loyalty!

Absolutely great Korean food to be found here in the north, the ladies are absolutely lovely and I hope for their continued success! They also do serve homemade kimchi here on the side which packs a wonderful kick of spice.

What a great little restaurant. Food was great.

The food is ok. The japchae is super oily. The taste is ok but not bad.
WDannie — Google review
Food was not bad, though a bit on the pricey side

It's like a small food court where everything is self served and paid at the counter. Clean premises and mediocre taste. No water is provided upon request. ZERO respect to customers. Everything is single use containers, too. But the tip is mandatory.

It's good and they're kind. It tastes for foreigners which mean it's not spicy for me. I recommend spicy rice cake if your foreigners.

Very good food, nice service, not pricey. We order 3 different foods. Everything is tasty. I'm happy that we choose this place.

Pizza restaurant
Boston Pizza is a popular family-friendly dining option in Yellowknife, offering a kids menu for the little ones. While it may be one of the few choices for families, some parents might find the menu somewhat repetitive after multiple visits. The restaurant successfully delivers the Boston Pizza experience and provides prompt service. Although the food is enjoyable, it tends to be on the pricier side as expected. Additionally, visitors have found amusement in interacting with the food-delivering robot at this establishment.
Having visited Boston Pizza at 5102 48 St in Yellowknife several times, I can confidently say it's a standout spot for satisfying meals. Their sandwiches, like "THE BIG DIPPER," have consistently impressed with their generous fillings and tasty sauces. Every pizza I've tried has been a hit, but the "The Meateor™" stands out. Loaded with beefy Bolognese sauce, pizza mozzarella, smoked ham, pepperoni, seasoned ground beef, and spicy Italian sausage, it's a flavor explosion that always hits the spot. In addition to their mouthwatering menu, Boston Pizza also excels in creating a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're dining in with friends or family, or simply grabbing a takeaway, the cozy ambiance makes you feel right at home.

This is got to be THE worst sports bar in the country. They might play the game but will NOT turn up the volume and the waiter is somewhat rude and very quick with you if you ask for a particular game. For $10 a beer and not cheap food you would think they would be more willing to make your experience better. If you want to watch the playoffs, save you $$ and stay home!

Service was prompt. Food was good but it was on the expensive side of which was expected.

Took my two kids here for lunch today. We waited over 10 mins to be seated. I sat there with my two 4 & 6 year old patiently waiting for someone to at least take our beverage order. My kids were restless and hungry, usually they give you kids menus with crayons to keep them distracted and occupied, apparently not any more. I watched as the servers tending to surrounding tables and even people who were seated after us. One server looked at our table with nothing on it and proceeded to offer the table beside us desert. After 30 minutes of waiting patiently I decided to pack up the kids and leave. As we were walking toward the exit I could hear someone say “can I take your order”, wow. I would understand if the place was packed but it was at about 40% capacity. The service is notoriously bad here and has been for years, but at least it’s consistent.

Today I visted here for just drinks around 10 and the place was bit busy on bar side. The server checked our ids and never came back to take order. He should have notified us that its gonna take a while as it was more than 20 mins already as we were trying to make some eye contact to order. If someone cannot handle the work then they should not take the table. We had to get up and move to the family side to get our drinks. The server at the other side was really good and servered us nicely.

Successfully delivers on the Boston Pizza experience. Would come back again. Also learned if you pet the robot that delivers food it will react lol

So tonight I wasted $42 dollars for a small pizza with wings . Wings were not great and the pizza was suppose to be Hawaiian pizza (yes they threw some pineapple on there) ,but it was not ! They gave me wrong pizza . And they say they didn’t .I choked down a slice because other take outs were closed . My dog wouldn’t even eat his slice ,the rest of the pizza ended up in trash can .I called to complain but all I got was excuses from management as to why he would not give me a refund or send me the right pizza .A word to the wise people EAT somewhere else when you’re in town other then Boston Pizza . Food was terrible and priced way too high and management ,well management sucks !

The food in itself was absolutely fine but I’ve given such low ratings for things because I’d ordered the ravioli and specifically made sure the server understood that I don’t eat meat and I was ordering it with marinara sauce and not Bolognese; but despite this, I was still served it with Bolognese, which I did not eat. I stayed a few hours because I had time to kill and was watching the hockey game that was on there on the TV so I also ordered some cheese on toast; which was absolutely fine, but when the server brought it there were four pieces and he suddenly said to me Do you want me to take two off? which I found extremely odd! I replied No thank you; the order is for four so I would like the four. So weird! Then he just randomly came over at one point with the card machine assuming I was finished and ready to pay and leave, even though I still had half a large beer left and still wanted to order dessert. Like I said, the food itself was OK and I’m sure someone who is a meat eater would absolutely love the ravioli with the Bolognese sauce, which was was supposed to be the marinara sauce as I’m vegetarian; but the server really let everything down, and I definitely will not be going back and I do not recommend it at all. A huge disappointment.

I had an early lunch before taking my flight back to Regina. The waitress was really friendly and nice. My personal size Deluxe pizza was great, just enough food to keep me going until I get to Calgary as my layover.

Ordered take out at 10pm Sunday. Food arrived in a speedy 1 and a half hours. Food was cold and wings and pizza were undercooked! $140 order that wasn't eaten.
