ARoS Aarhus Art Museum is a world-renowned art museum located in the heart of Aarhus, Denmark. With an impressive collection spanning 300 years, the museum is home to some of the most iconic works of Danish modernist and abstract art. Including paintings from the 1800s, the Danish Golden Age of modernism, and works from more recent decades, ARoS Aarhus is a must-see for anyone visiting Aarhus.
Great Museum! It proves definitely that modern art does not have to be boring and strange, but can be beautiful, inspiring and a great experience. The Vertigo exhibition was really exceptional. The many projections of dancing people, together with the music really gave me the feeling of being totally emerged in the project. Also the dried plant exhibition was really impressive. Read the text next to the plants.

Aesthetically speaking, this is definitely a wonderful place to visit. The museum is a great place to explore, and has so many unique experiences and exhibitions that every time we come back, it's completely different. As its quite small, you can explore all of the different exhibits in a few hours, which means that when you're with kids you're not completely drained. The rainbow gives some amazing photo opportunities, just make sure to visit when it's bright outside for the best effect!
Sam Caesar — Google review
Great Museum from the outside. The rainbow circle at the top looks great, and it is very entertaining, probably the highlight of the museum, something to remember. If you are under 31 years old, you pay 145 Dkk which is a fair price. Interesting modern art exhibitions in the inside but nothing spectacular, I must say. Some of the floors are not really part of the museum since there are closed restaurants or library or workshop areas which can't be visited. If you are in Aarhus, it's definitely worth visiting this museum, but I would not travel to Aarhus to see it.

This might be one of my favorite museums I’ve ever visited...and I’m not a huge museum person. By far this was my favorite museum in Denmark— the architecture, for one, was beautiful, and of course the rainbow panorama lived up to the hype and was a joy to walk around. But the real stars of the show were all of the exhibits on each of the floors— every single one of them I was intrigued by, and major props to the museum curators because they are slaying. There is truly something here for everyone!

I love this Cultural Art Museum. We had 2 Kids with us today. And they could walk around them self if they wanted, to se what they would. There is so much different exhibitions for All of us and we get a lot inspiration with us. The covid-19 restrictions were good and the most guest followed them. We'll be back. ✨🙌
Ulla B. Nielsen — Google review
A lot of exhibitions under one roof. It's all skewing a little bit too modern for my taste, so I really loved the exhibition showing various aspects of "human nature" portrayed through 200 years of painting. The rooftop rainbow installation is deeply fascinating and a must-see.
Christian Scheffel — Google review
So so lucky to be staying so close to this incredible art museum!! Do not miss the incredible installations on the bottom floor that will transport you to other worlds, the BIG boy, and the rainbow walkway on the rooftop. The cafe and gift shop are lovely too!
Katie May Boyle — Google review
A museum that already went to my top5 museums in the world, very organized and accessible in case of mobility difficulties. They have specifics exhibitions and a nice amount of danish artists.
Juliana Braga — Google review
Very accessible and clearly locally popular modern art institute. The rainbow panorama is a very special experience. It was lovely during sunset in early evening when it's not busy. Very good museum shop. The collection of my Danish artists, and local painting was interesting, as were the different changing exhibitions.
Muki Haklay — Google review
One of the best contemporary art museums in Scandinavia. They have a huge selection, a wonderful and well-known “rainbow glass” roof passage, and some amazing experiential art rooms in the basement. Cannot recommend this enough. Get there early if you plan on seeing everything!
Sindre Deschington — Google review
The rainbow skywalk was ingenious. Also the different exhibitions are great. The art installation at the ground floor is definitely a must to see.
Madlen Steiger — Google review
Looks good on the outside with the rainbow structure on top but entrance fee way too expensive in my honest opinion. 20 pounds for art that I can’t appreciate. Very niche tourist attraction. Shop and toilets are good though.

an intetesting building with 10 floors. The top has a great rainbow walk to view the town from. Each floor has well presented exhibitions. the cafe and shop are also very good to visit.

ARoS is a great contemporary art museum that constantly refreshes its exhibitions every 3-6 months. The highlight is undoubtedly the rainbow installation, "Your rainbow panorama" by Ólafur Elíasson, offering breathtaking views over Aarhus. Currently featuring works by Annette Messager, Susan Philipz, Ron Mueck, and Erró, alongside the intriguing permanent collection, ARoS promises an engaging experience. Personally, I was captivated by the "Boy" in the "Far from Home" exhibition.
Indah Mustikasari — Google review
An art museum holding various exhibitions that will likely take you hours to complete. No backpacks nor big bags are allowed to be brought into the exhibitions. There is a locker area next to the ticket purchase to store your belongings before entering the exhibition floors. Would recommend taking the elevator up to the top floor and then working your way down if it isn't too busy. Otherwise, going up one floor at a time, then take the elevator back down.
Luke L'sk — Google review
This is an absolute must see when you come to Aarhus. The rainbow panorama is just something else and the rest of the exhibitions are interesting over 6/7 floors. I spend around 2 hours here to see everything. It is very accessible too. Highly recommended.
Vin Chenzo — Google review
Great contemporary art museum. The exhibitions are constantly changing and you can see new ones every 3-6 months. It’s worth visiting the rainbow installation at the last floor. You’ll have the chance to see a beautiful view over the entire Aarhus.

Amazing and beautiful museum! A must visit place in Aarhus for sure! I bought the ticket some days before and it was perfect because when I arrived there was a long queue to buy a ticket. The museum have beautiful and interesting exhibitions.

The amusement park Tivoli Friheden features many attractions, including a Ferris wheel and carousel. There are also 5D cinematic rides and laser games, making it the perfect place to spend a day with the family.
Had amazing time there and loved people's friendliness. Some of the attractions are really frightening, but still tried them all and enjoyed every minute :) But you would also enjoy your visit even if you're not adrenaline sicker and just wanna have fun time.
Nana Hera — Google review
Christmas season, beautiful lightning. The indoor activities can really be upgrade with a bit modern or fun stuff to attract more people in the cool season or raining day. The indoor haunted house and the 5D movie is exactly the same technology with the meaningless shooting that is not fun at all in my opinion. They can make the 5D to something really great ,consider nowadays all theme park have those beautiful 5D , rather than shooting the zombie with blurry quality. the haunted house is also super lame. The indoor illusion is also Meh.. outdoor game is few close down without notice in the website or front gate. The only thing good in this season is, less queue for every other thing that is not so fun

Great location in Aarhus, winter time without waiting lines and bigger attractions than in Legoland. I was shaking even after 5 hours after the rides. 😁
Lenka ?vidrnochov? — Google review
Lots of good rides. You need atleast 2 hours to properly get your money's worth. You could spend 4 or 5 hours. There's more than enough to do and so little or no queues
Ronke Odewumi — Google review
Wet, cold and bored stiff. The kids had fun though. Not many places to seek cover when pouring with rain so end up spending a fortune on coffee.
Jason Lecart — Google review
Great fun, clean and organised
Felipe Trombetta — Google review
The entrance tickets are 175 dkk. If you want to ride the rides, you have to buy a turbånd which lets you ride how many times you like on the rides. If you dont have the turbånd you have to pay around 20 dkk to 100 dkk on mobile pay depending on the rides. Personal experience. I had a very nice time there the rides were very fun and fast. The workers are nice. But some of the rides did not feel safe like the fareeswheel did not feel safe. When it was at the top, it started shaking a lot it felt like the thing was about to fall over. The food is very expensive. I bought a small pita with kebab. The price was 78 dkk. I saw 1 person fainted after going on one of the tallest rides in the park
Nhat Lam — Google review
A young man named Sebastian was really helpful in guiding on which ticket would suit me best. It was only £35 (295dkk) to enter with access to all rides expect Sky Tower. Fun place for adults and kids
Amanda Evertino — Google review
So much fun, I can't even describe how much, it was just an absolutely brilliant day Highly recommend the skytower free fall
Chuck Dyte — Google review
Beautiful decorated park with lovely rides for young and old. The park is well maintained and despite the some what older attractions still more than enjoyable. The admission fee is relatively high for what you get back in return. We got the admission to the park plus all rides, just to figure out that for example ice skating you still needed to pay extra. There are plenty of food stands available throughout the park but please be prepared to pay a very high price. The food stalls are mainly manned by local businesses such as farmers who are selling there own produce. Staff is absolutely friendly and helpful where needed. Toilets are disgusting and should be cleaned far more often. If we look at the fun we had as a family it was well worth it. We really enjoyed it and time flew by despites being in the park for 6.5 hrs! Parking is available almost next to the park and is free of charge.
Gerard Mulder — Google review
This place does not deserve any good feed-back. - No parking slot available, just follow people and hid the car back in the forest. - Attractions are managed by understaffed student assistants trying their best. - Park decoration is low quality, cheap repairs everywhere, etc… Not to do again.
simon marandet — Google review
Nice to visit with children. There are plenty of attractions for different ages. They have a slightly hard to understand ticket system but we bought an annual card and don't regret it.
Alexandr Sudakov — Google review
It's a beautiful place, there is a variety of attractions for kids and for everyone. Because there are a lot of kids, smoking should be forbidden! It is not pleasant for kids walking around and see and smell cigarette. An action must be taken, forbidden or placing smoking areas

Dokk1 is an architectural beauty by Aarhus harbor that houses the citys library. It is much more than a library, with an impressive modern design and stunning views of the harbor.
If you are in town with small kids, this is the place to go! So many great indoor and outdoor playgrounds for kids 0-3 years and older. We spent there a lot of time during our stay in Aarhus with our 7-months old baby. You could spend a whole day here with the public library a cafe and many other things to do and explore.
Brian Lang — Google review
Great place for tourists and children. Nice views across the harbour with seating and cafe to rest for tourists. and lots of children books and area for kids. Can get busy during the day. Lots of university students here studying.

I highly recommend visiting this place if you're in Denmark. It has a great view to the harbour, the people are nice and it's great if you're coming with kids. Unfortunetly I didn't take photos when I was here, but make sure you do, because it's absolutely amazing. This gets a high place on "my top 10 favorite places in the world" list! 😁

Very beautiful architecture with several reading areas and Cafés. You have amazing views of the city and waterfront from the library. I can't comment the books as I don't speak Danish but I felt the foreign language books could have been a little more.

World class library. Fantastic architecture / design. Wonderful location right at the water. Several great spaces to read. Fast WLAN. Different games available. Events. Fine cafe with a fine variety of coffee and cookies.
Frank Calberg — Google review
The pictures don’t do it enough justice. One of the best libraries I have been especially with the play areas and children friendliness. The place was clean and had different activities to entertain children of all ages. I was very impressed by the stroller parking lot with the directional twist. I highly recommend this for families. We could have easily spent the whole day here
Joseph Yamoah — Google review
I would not recommend students in the library to come and study for their tests or exams. All people that try to concentrate and work try as much as possible to escape from the chaos and noise of the children. Despite there being designated children's areas, kids run around in the quiet study spaces and scream. There is very little respect for people that are actually working there. I've tried to work there a few times, as it has the potential to be a wonderful flexible workspace! Some days were better than others. But without clear rules, students might as well study at any random intersection in the city, where there will be less noise :)
Laurine Brugman — Google review
Beautiful building right on the water. It's main floor is a library but also has much more. The architecture is quite stunning and is a focal point of the rejuvenation of the waterfront. Must see sight, especially for architecture buffs.

Den Gamle By is a vast open-air museum in central Denmark that recreates life in a small market town during the time of Hans Christian Andersen. The attraction features 75 period houses and hosts a large cast of "re-enactors." It is a fun day out for history buffs who can explore the attractions's living snapshots of Danish social history from the 18th, 19th and 20 centuries.
Wow, this was by far one the best museum we visited in Europe! I am not a museum person but I really enjoyed this experience. I loved the different time periods like 70's, 20's and 1700-1800's. They even had people dressed up for those time periods. I think they missed the mark on merchandise. I would have had more Renaissance type things to buy. The gift shop needs better merch. The bakery was delicious! This place is a must see!
Tania Nauroth — Google review
An open air museum that has a combination of real shops and crops. It contains recreation of buildings from different eras and working class and displays what Denmark cities used to look like. Quite beautiful. Renovations are currently happening for 2023, and will have new entrances and the more 1950s Denmark. Recommend to go and see the telephone store to see a real working olden day telephone! This museum is worth a visit!

Den Gamle By in a cool spot to visit in Aarhus. It’s like walking onto a movie set of an old Danish town. I loved popping into the little shops and houses and the museums, you really get a feel for what life was like back in the day. It’s perfect for a chill but educational day out, whether you're with family or just hanging with friends. I would go more often if the entrance fee was lower!
Julia Marleen — Google review
A wonderful exhibition of Danish life through the ages. Very educational and happy to see that so many beautiful original buildings have been carefully disassembled and reassembled at this location in order to preserve the wonderful architecture and history. Very interesting that the newer 1970s section is used to help those with Alzheimer’s. My son was so excited about the hi-fi stereo shop and repair store. Had an wonderful chat and education from the two gentlemen working there. If you want to really take it all in, you probably need 1 1/2 days to truly explore everything. Must see!!
Walter Hegan — Google review
What a place! I was already excited before I went but I was even more impressed during my visit. It still exceeded my high expectations. I visited during the week and it must be even more exciting on weekends. There were a few people dressed up but it is incredible how the houses and buildings are very well preserved and give you an incredible accurate impression of how life was in the past. Some shops are still manned by staff and are used as real shops. It's an incredible experience. Many people had their dogs also. I didn't eat there but will do next time. It's a MUST to visit when in Aarhus. Fantastic!
Franco Migliorati — Google review
This is an open air museum where houses and shops from different periods have been recreated with care. They have bakery shops where you can have a snack and coffee (the cakes and goodies available must also be from yesteryear..:)); a garden where you can buy flowers and herbs; horses and buggy drivers; etc Will suit children or people not brought up and exposed in or exposed to older European architecture and culture. But if you have been all you might need is a quick gander through before heading to the next of Aarhus’ many museums.
Karin Sinniger — Google review
Great places to see and understand the history of Denmark and how old danish life was during 70’s, 80’s and now. They have different zones with different decades. We got a wonderful guide who explained all the historical details nicely and as a story. Had a short trip around this but definitely will take a day or half a day to cover all the houses and details. Recommend place to visit and experience the old life of danish people. They have a restaurant with danish specific foods.

Situated in the heart of Aarhus, this open air museum (set in 3 distinct time periods) is a great way to spend a few hours. Easy to find and to park nearby, it is a fascinating look at Danish life in the 1700s, 1920s, and 1970s. Genuinely interesting and packed with things to see. Well worth a visit
David W — Google review
Great place to visit and dig into the Danish history. Very pleasant walk around the old buildings, which you can explore inside as well. It is nicely organised and child friendly with lots of activities for them. We spent almost 3 hours there and still did not see everything we wanted.

This place is a must go. It's an outdoor attraction with buildings from different ages and tells you a little about the history from each time. It's a great place to go with friends, family, couple or even alone. Adults pays around 190dkk if I am not wrong and kids are free. Accessibility: I didn't see any elevator, must buildings have only stairs and not all streets are wheelchair "friendly" so I might be a challenge. Language: most people from the food courts and others services speaks English Food: they have some options like hot dog, pizza, a danish traditional restaurant, ice cream Toilets: there are many toilets around the establishment and they are clean In general, is a great experience Bonus: they have a carriage tour and is worth it to pay more (100dkk) to go around the Botanical Garden instead of only paying 50dkk to go around the streets inside Old Town
João Malheiros — Google review
We had an exceptional experience at Dem Gammel by Visit, and the old brewery was the spotlight for me. The gentle brewer's kindness and attentiveness made us all warm and welcomed. He walked us through the entire brewing process, allowing us to savor different types of beer—an amazing and educational experience. Purchasing the beer cup for 20 kronas opened the door to unlimited feast as I tasted freshly brewed beer. Plus, the festive Christmas atmosphere outside added to the overall delight. It was, without a doubt, a great and delicious visit.

Takes you back to a past era with houses from the 18th Century. It was worth going. Found some geese shouting and trying to get food from the people there. That was fun.
mikepro — Google review
Fun and interesting museum, documenting life in Denmark throughout the years. There are things from 2014, the 70-80ies and all the way back to the 1600’s. Great fun for both adults and kids. The only thing that was less than ideal was the looong line to get in and that some of the people working on serving lunch seemed a bit unexperienced, but other than that it’s a perfect place to visit in Aarhus.
David Rasmussen — Google review
What a great trip. We went there because a local guy in a fish store had telling us about it. Great journey through the different years and really great buildings and decorations. Everything is looking really nice and you can go inside in some buildings. Great experience, I would recommend a visit on a weekday, and plan about 4-5 hours. If I went to Denmark again, I will come back.

Located in Aarhus Denmark. A fantastic snapshot of life in Denmark over 100's of years on a truly grand scale. Real buildings that have been removed from their original locations and set in place in zoned areas depending on their time in history. There is a complete street with shops from the 1970's filled with relevant products and some even with actual staff. Along with all the buildings filled with historic items there are things going on all of the time. A group of women washing clothes by a stream, young boys carrying water from the village well, horses and carriages, a vintage car driving along a cobbled street. There are hundreds of exhibitions and there are also info boards with info in both Danish and English. You'll have no problem communicating as the Danish are brilliant English speakers. Food and drink is easily available, there are plenty of toilets. Not all areas are accessible to wheelchair users or those with impaired mobility but nevertheless there is much to see. You'll need a minimum of 4 hours here, you could easily spend the day and not see it all. We had an amazing time and would thoroughly recommend

The Cathedral of Aarhus is a medieval church that was completed in 1350 and designed in the Romanesque style. It is one of Denmarks tallest and longest churches, and features ornate gothic frescos and an impressive golden altar.
visited this place with my cousins a couple of years ago. i live in America but my mom recently found out that this church is where my great-grandma was baptized so when we flew the Denmark to visit our distant family we just HAD to visit the Aarhus Cathedral. it looks plain on the inside but trust me it looks AMAZING on the inside. lots of lovely original relief sculptures and beautiful lighting. plus when we visited there was an organ player performing for all the tourists and it really completed the experience of being in this ancient place of worship. highly recommend visiting if you're in the area, even if you're not religious.

Aarhus Cathedral (St. Clemens Church ) located at Store Torv and Bispetorv in Aarhus Center is the main church of Aarhus Diocese . The church has around 1200 seats, and the building, which is the longest and tallest church building in Denmark , is 93 meters long. The tower is 96 meters high, making it one of the tallest towers in Denmark . 😍

Beautiful old brick cathedral, the tallest church in Denmark. It's really high, you can see its tower while walking on the old city center. Also, the tower and church roof can be seen from Salling rooftop terrace. Church inside has nice paintings on the wall and a model of the ship hanging from the ceiling which traditionally can be seen in many Danish churches. The doors can be closed if some ceremonies like wedding are being held in the church.

Aarhus Cathedral is a Church of Denmark cathedral that was previously a part of the Roman Catholic church. The Gothic and Romanesque cathedral was completed in 1300 and dedicated to St. Clement, the patron saint of sailors. Construction of the church started around 1190. It was built around St. Clement's church, a timber church built in 1102. The Romanesque architectural style included half-rounded arches, a flat timber ceiling and four chapels. The cathedral suffered great damage in 1330 when a fire burned much of Aarhus. It was abandoned until 1449 when it was renovated and enlarged. The new design of the church used Gothic vaulting with high windows and a lengthened nave. It is now both the tallest and longest church in Denmark at 305 feet long and 315 feet high. The current, 314-foot tower was built in 1931. There are more frescoes in Aarhus Cathedral than in any church in the country. They were painted between 1470 and 1520. Likewise, the painting of St. Christopher and St. Clement are the tallest in Denmark. The cathedral's one stained glass window was created by Emanuel Vigeland in 1926. At almost 46-feet tall, it is the largest stained glass window in Denmark.

Although just a few frescoes, it is also the church with the most SQM of paintings in Denmark . It has the biggest stained glass..14 m tall..made by norvegian artist Vigeland (see the Vigeland park in Oslo )

Very good Aarhus restaurant. We had the short eight course menu with matching wine pairings all of which were very good. Danish dishes arguably with a French influence. Friendly and helpful staff.

The service was slow and inattentive, despite only three tables were occupied. Some dishes were not presented. The food itself was fine but the pairing with wine made the whole experience dinning there somewhat forgettable . We spent 10.000 kr for 8 people. And for that price i was a little disappointed.

Extremely good! Very nice staff, good atmosphere and nicely decorated. Like the good apace between tables for privacy. The food was excellent (lunch) and very cheap per dish. Each dish cost the same just pick what you want and can eat. The only thing was the pace. It went too quick but when we asked for a slower pace they adapted. I would definitely go here again. A great experience all over which I seriously recommend.

I visited in Nordisk Spisehus in March 2018 and I'm only just getting round to writing a review but the meal will never leave my mind. My girlfriend and I visited for my 25th birthday and opted for the 5 courses, alongside some other accompaniments and a very nice glass of champagne. The menu has since changed but I wanted to highlight just how skilful the cooking is. At the time the menu had been jointly composed with Restaurant Daniel (New York, **). The experience is helpfully supported by a booklet so you can remember each dish! One of the most amazing dishes I've ever had was the Quail - Broccoli - Port - and a photograph is attached. I asked the waiter to talk me through how it had been prepared and all I can say is wow (partly because it was so complex I forgot half of it immediately). For me, this is why you go to restaurants - dishes you can't replicate in the home easily, if at all.

Nice service, truly great food, god beers and wine. If You are looking for a above average lunch or a night out with gourmet food, this place will be a good pick. The prices match the level of cooking.

Food court
Aarhus Street Food is a food court with stalls serving international cuisine. It has bars serving beer and cocktails, and large outdoor seating in the summer.
Amazing place, craft local beer, coffees to chose, food from Everest to Korea, within Danish, Mexican and many other countries. Excellent customer treatment and good deals. Highly recommended
T?rin Turambar — Google review
A bit crammed, but always lovely. Duck It can do no wrong with their food. Wish you'd get some slightly more useful wooden picks for the fries. Nice outdoor areas. Prices can be a bit steep, but generally the food is good quality at Aarhus Street Food. Excellent variety.

I don’t really get the point why such street food court became popular in Denmark but seems really popular. But the food is really not good or terrible. At least the ones we tried some ramen noodles… Certainly not worth the money. I don’t really recommend this place unless you just want a quick bite without any expectations

Very nice street food market. The food was good and the service was great. Took less than 5 mins for my order to be made ready - I ordered via the QR code on the tables. I ordered Thai food. The food was delicious but unfortunately I didn’t get any photo of it. The staff were friendly and the place was very clean. There’s something for everyone

Very cool place with lot of good good choices. Very good ambiance. Can get full/busy on the weekends, so be in time. A lot of inside and outside possibilities. Order and pick up possible through their website. I would recommend using that instead of standing in lot of separate lines.

Lots of versions of street food from different places. Local versions are not necessarily resemble the original. Food mostly inexpensive. Mid week around 7 was very busy. Lots of places to sit indoor or outdoor.
Muki Haklay — Google review
Great place, full of life and lots of choices. Have a wander around, pick a favourite or try several. Loads of seating around outside and enough benches inside to be able to find somewhere to sit at all times. We got a pork ramen, which was excellent. There's a big selection of beers to choose from, everybody seemed happy and the atmosphere was very nice

Our first stop in Aarhus and we loved it. The atmosphere, the food options and the prices were according to location and what was being offered. Plenty of covered and exterior tables it was easy to find a place for us. Just next to the bus station and the city center was a plus.

Great variety of cuisine to choose feom. Great place to hang out after work with friends. The price is also reasonable.

This is basically Reffen, but inside a building. A great variety of options for different cuisines from around the world is offered here. On top of this, they have a more craft beer tap list for most beers only costing 55 DKK for a 0.4 l pour. Overall, it is a good experience with a good atmosphere and good stands for both food and alcohol.

Really amazed by the fact that this indoor food market open till 9pm and every day. Was not sure if it opened on Sunday when we visited. Once we entered, we were surprised by how many good options were available for us. We had Korean beef bibimbap and duck burgers with chips. Was great especially since it was so cold outside.

Amazing place! Food from all over the world, literally. I’ve never seen these much of different traditional cooking in one place! Loved the atmosphere. Also, they have quite nice amount of vegan options. You can seat outside or inside, or just do a takeaway.
Lidia Zhezdrova — Google review
A bit too crowded and loud (❄️ only indoors, on a Friday)! Make sure to use the qr/website to order so you don't have to wait in line! Big variety in cuisines and a lot of nice different things to try. Service is fast and really good. Even though it's industrial and street in style and vibes, it is not that cheap (100dkk per dish approximately). It is like a street food event but all year round. I bet it is better when the weather is nice and you can sit outdoors! Nice experience, fun atmosphere and something different involving good food- would recommend

We totally loved it. Huge variety of food from regions all over the world. Nice atmosphere, regular prices (compared to Aarhus/Denmark). Just missed some more vegetarian / vegan options.

Really amazing food, quite beyond the normal expectations of a food hall (which are normally expensive and not so tasty). Even though Aarhus seems to have a miniscule number of foreigners, even the ethnic foods were great! I really enjoyed "Duck it" and the stall with the traditional danish tarts.
Karn Seth — Google review
Good food and good prices compared to other street food venues I have visited. It was covered and warm inside. Good for us as it was raining cats and dogs outside. There was paid parking at the location too. I wish there were more seats. The place was packed solid. We had to walk around looking for a place to sit. We went back several times during our time in Aarhus. The atmosphere was booming. Would I return...... Yep I would.
Lee Taylor — Google review
I only managed to try the gyros in there, but this place is definitely a must visit and the vibe is impeccable! If you’re unsure what to eat, a big group or just want to explore different cuisines, this should be your go to!
Inger Margrete Hansen — Google review
It is the best and cheapest place to hang out with your friends. Lot of shops (cuisines) to choose from. The prices are extremely cheap compared to any other place around. Every time it bustles with the energetic crowd. Highly recommended if you are in Aarhus. The duck fat fries are one of the must eat.
Pranjal Nandi — Google review
Great vibe and good spot for casual food and drinks. The town is mostly pretty quiet and this is the only place that’s bustling with locals and tourists. It’s like a big food court with lots of international options. Had a pork bowl from the Afro-Caribbean stall and a duck and chips from what the duck. Both were delicious and generous in portion size. Would visit again!

Aarhus Street Food offers an incredible variety of food options at reasonable prices, making it a fantastic destination for anyone seeking a culinary adventure. The stunning views add to the overall experience, making it a must-visit spot in Aarhus.

At Aarhus Street Food, my friends and I found ourselves immersed in a melting pot of global cuisine. With Thai, Japanese, Korean, Greek, Turkish, Indian, Caribbean, Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian, and more all under one roof, the variety was staggering. The beer tap offered around 16 different types, allowing us to indulge in various brews. I opted for the Thai beef noodle soup, which boasted an authentic taste that left me thoroughly satisfied.

Restaurant
St. Pauls Apothek is a traditional apothecary in Aarhus with a focus on Nordic cuisine and interesting cocktails. Judging by the popularity of the restaurant among the locals, the pairing of great food with carefully curated cocktails is a winning if not remedial combination.
A true taste workshop. We were in awe of the superb taste and texture combinations of the dishes and associated cocktails. Elaborate introduction to each dish, by very friendly waitresses. Relaxing and light atmosphere. Very correct prices: 3 course 'Apothekeret' menu with accompanying cocktails for 645 DKK.
Bart Du Bois — Google review
I love the internal coherency in most of the servings as well as most of the cocktails - not to forget the coherency between the food and the offered cocktails. Love it! I would love to give five stars in general but the high chairs in the front room where we dined are not suitable for a four hour sitting.
Steen Suder — Google review
If you are looking for high end drinks this is a good place to go. Prices are pretty expensive, but also rather fair for What you get. Super drinks in taste and look. The interior is modern with respect for the old building. Cosy in the evening. Service was superb - hence making it a good experience all in all.
Morten Møller Olesen — Google review
Nice concept of drinks to follow the food, and it actually works. The acoustics are not good and you need to shout across the table to hear each other.

Restaurant
Aarhus Michelin restaurant, one of the most prestigious in Denmark, is known for creative contemporary dishes made with organic and quality ingredients from local producers. The restaurant has been awarded a prestigious star since 2015 and was previously located in Aarhus. In 2021, the restaurant regained its star after only being open for a year due to its relocation to Aarhus Ø.
Substans was one of our top dining experiences in Denmark-Sweden trip. It is located in the revitalized waterfront harbor area. It has a beautiful view and modern interior, for some reason the view enhanced our taste buds capacity as well. The staff of five worked in both the kitchen and dining area, and they were all excellent! The food presentation was wonderful, and the place offered a good balance between traditional Nordic foods, modern culinary approach and ingredients sourcing. it didn't disappoint us for choosing the place among the options we had!

Really lovely experience. Great location with an unbelievable view. Nice and warm service. Great food and very embracing expressions of taste. The 4 of us liked everything. You are feeling nursed and welcomed throughout the evening. No rush, just pleasant. The only thing i would like to see at step up on is the wine menu. There was definitely good ones in the bunch but i would like to see a higher level on some of them.
Rane Balslev — Google review
The food was outstanding; fresh flavors with great intensity, and the portions were perfect - every one of us walked away perfectly satisfied after 15 courses. The interior makes it feel like you’re sitting in the home of Substans, making it very relaxed. Service is great, they were kind but not so personal. There were a few misses along the way but overall, we were really happy.
Malou — Google review
A fantastic evening was had at Substans. The view itself from the 11th floor, is fantastic, but the food and wine is what really shines. We were pleasantly surprised that some of the dishes were actually quite spicy, which is often not something you see at Michelin restaurants. Service was really good as well.

I love the experience! the food was really good. You can feel that they’ve been thinking through how to marry ingredients together. They make simple vegetables an entire new discovery like celeriac or radish. The quality of the beef was also unbelievable.

We loved our experience at Hærværk. You can tell that they spend a lot of time and attention into preparing each dish and it pays off. They serve their own take on new Nordic cuisine and it was simply delicious.

I like the fact that they are recognized for the good work on preserving the spirit of sustainability and friendship here, they’re also awarded Michelin green star. Being a foreigner in Aarhus, I get a warm welcome and served properly. All the best, we’ll be back with bigger Indonesian sustainable groups 👍🏻

Been there twice and have been very satisfied. Must importantly it is delicious food and interesting wine. The service is lovely and attentively makes sure everything runs smoothly. I recommend trying their wine menu with lots of interest natural wines. For my last meal I will go with traditional wines, but these are well picked and a small experience in themselves!
