Southampton's SeaCity Museum offers an extensive range of interactive experiences related to the maritime history of the city and the surrounding area. The museum is home to exhibits on Southampton's historic connection with the sea, including information about RMS Titanic. Additionally, SeaCity has a variety of learning opportunities available for schools, colleges and groups.
We’ll worth the money. This museum is amazing for children and there are plenty of interactive exhibitions and installations to tell the stories of Southampton as an important maritime city and the story of the local workers of Titanic. We’ll worth the money. Staff were very friendly and there was locker rooms, clean bathrooms and beautiful spacious building with natural light.

Weekdays is perfect time to visit as you will get best opportunity to see evey nook and corner without being in queue everywhere. It has a lots of details about Titanic, Birtanic and Queen Marry ships in detail and a lot of others. A huge hall in the form of courtroom with constant video playing with people in question. The place can be covered within 60-90 minutes followed by a nice lunch/food at ground floor and a souvenir shop as other museum. Staffs are happy to help. There is an educational site for students mostly busy during term time. Other times, there are colouring pages for kids. Its a good informative place if you are enthusiastic about #Titanic. Tha parking is not at sight, only one is next to Southampton council next to museum but its paid 2 hours only. Another car par is West Park with is 3 minutes walking distance. Enjoy!

It was really a nice experience for me and my family. We could relate to some of the displays as we had watched the Titanic movie. The public needs to keep on offering condolences to southampton, especially for visitors/foreigners like us. It was really emotional.
idris abdul ahmed — Google review
It was truly an immersive and a wonderful experience. Plan ahead and spend an entire day wandering the walls of the rich Southampton history which includes - The titanic experience, History of early settlers in Southampton and Southampton’s contribution to some of the greatest historical events. You will definitely not regret this experience. There are also fun games you can indulge in and even get your fortune read by a gypsy! It’s super fun!!
Allena Andress — Google review
I found this museum worth the tickets to purchase which cost under £10 per adult. Although small it is unique holding an exhibition of the titanic and true tales of survivors as well as activities for all ages to participate in. In addition to this there are also vintage game machines which was am additional wow! Leaving you not only with a one of a kind souvenir compared to other museums but also a fun element that makes the trip round the museum one of learning, application of that knowledge and sheer joy.
Hope Mcguire — Google review
Attending as a parent helper for my son and his class on their school trip, I was blown away by the quality of the exhibitions at this wonderful museum. The staff were exceptional, and went above and beyond to make sure we were all well looked after, and had what we needed. Shortly after we arrived I started feeling unwell, but without a second though a staff member found me a quite place to sit and offered me a drink, coming to check on me regularly until I began to feel better. If you get a chance to visit I can't recommend this museum enough, there are brilliant interactive displays as well as traditional treasures with information boards. Brilliant for all ages!

Good few hours learning about the Titanic and the history of Southampton. Interactive sections were not working on the day of our visit which was a shame.
Lyndse Griffiths — Google review
Although expensive, the museum justifies the price - luckily i got through with a student deal. Titanic section is brilliantly laid out and offered some details, photos and facts that I, as an enthusiast of the Olympic Class Liners, didn’t know. Museum is clean, well lit and nicely laid out. Staff are friendly. Shop is mint but just a tad expensive. Didn’t pick up the light up model of RMS Titanic due to its price, but if someone lets me know the name and company, I’ll be sure to pick it up in the future. Such a great visit.

I have a Titanic mad son so when my husband was at a funeral I took our children to visit here. I'm so glad we did. Such an amazing exhibition, learning about the people who lived in Southampton who then went to work on the Titanic. You can see original artifacts from the Titanic including a watch. There are interactive parts of the exhibition where you can steer the Titanic, send Morse Code and even fuel her! The staff were all amazing and helpful, there was good disabled access for my son in his disabled buggy and we had some yummy food in the cafe. This is a definitely a must for any Titanic fan!
Sara Burns — Google review
I think this museum is absolutely wonderful. I think one thing to be aware of is they don't have anything from the crash (which is respectful so we can't be disappointed) it is belongings from the survivors of Southampton (some of which were on the Titanic but brought back with the survivors). They're a particularly stunning part of the museum where the floor is a map of the city, and every red dot represents a person who died and their address. I was in awe of how almost every street had lost at least one person. You really get to see how the story of the Titanic and Southampton are inextricably linked. In that sense it was very powerful. It's also very interactive and even though I am in university I had fun doing the activities meant for kids 🤫. Wish I took more photos.
Eliza Brecheisen — Google review
A small museum, where you can spend a few hours learning about the Titanic mainly and then some things about the people who have inhabited the area, through the ages. Left me wanting more but I take that as a good sign. The Titanic exhibit is quite interactive and entertaining. Loved the gym they had onboard. Amazing for 100 ago! Fun facts and curiosities are always good and I think it was good for older kids too, to excite their imagination and get them involved. Four stars because I wish it was better signaled and organized and have a few more objects or replicas.
Stefania Codarcea — Google review
Slightly disappointing museum regarding the titanic expedition, it’s in no way terrible or awful but on the same hand it’s at best a slow 30-45min look around very few items, considering the ‘maiden voyage’ set sail from Southampton, I expected more. £10.50 is about the maximum I’d pay, however it’s not a place I’d be visiting again sadly. The museum dedicated to titanic in Liverpool is amazing and had far more articles and treasures so if you’re a titanic fan then that’s the place to visit in the uk.
Chris Goodwin — Google review
This was a nice day out after living in Southampton for 12 years. I've never actually visited so I thought it was about time I have to say was a bit bigger than I thought it was going to be. As for the Titanic side of things it was okay it's difficult because you know you're not gonna see too much from something that sank to the bottom of the ocean but I was partly expecting a little more. Overall, a good day out and kids would love it
craig richards — Google review
Very interesting place to visit. The stories and displays are well done. Was expecting more items that were actually from Titanic, alot seemed to be from Olympic, but similar to or like what would be on Titanic. Nice little gift shop.
Sheila Handy — Google review
The Sea City Museum in Southampton, Hampshire is OK. It offers a decent glimpse into the maritime history of the city, but some exhibits felt a bit dated. The staff is friendly, and the location is convenient, making it an OK choice for a casual visit. However, if you're a history enthusiast, you might find it somewhat lacking in depth. Overall, an OK experience.
Muhammad Junaid — Google review
Great experience learning about the history of Southampton, and the tragedy of Titanic. Well worth the admission. Plenty of details and activities for the whole family.
Nguyễn Văn Hiếu — Google review
It’ll give you chills. It’s a very interesting place. So many activities too for kids. Only thing we didn’t like is the hot drinks in the cafe. Ordered 4 and all of them were 3/10. The museum itself is 8.5/10
KM — Google review
This was a fascinating museum to visit, telling stories about the history of the Titanic and its sailing! Artefacts are shown, insight is given into what the people would have eaten and rooms small or large depict the setting on the ferry. The works of art are glorious, allusions are created by images like the replica stairs on the wall that look real and a simulator for the engine is amazing! A large room has interesting video presentations, replicas of the boat are incredible and amusements are not only historic but also available now for some here.

The Tudor House and Garden is a 15th century building and 16th century gardens in the heart of the Old Town, which has been open to the public since 1912. It regularly hosts tours, exhibitions and many exciting activities throughout the calendar year.
Superb place to visit. Lots to see.Lots to express. Garden is beautiful. If you have time go for a tour. Cafe good. Toilets superb spotlessly clean.

We decided to start visiting some of the Southampton museums and learn more about the city I've lived in for many years. The staff were friendly and explained the facilities. The museum starts with a short audio experience that gives a brief overview. You then are guided by an audio tour around the building learning about the various changes in Southampton over the years. I've read some mixed reviews but was pleasantly surprised with the building and gardens. The later probably being nicer in the spring/summer. The café was decent and I had a nice late. The view is over the garden which was pleasant. Don't expect anything fancy, it will take you between 1 and 2 hours to look around. I think it's worth a visit and I like helping local museums.
Cigar Smoker UK — Google review
Interesting to get a perspective on the history. Heard it used to be better with more authentic furnishings throughout the facility. For the price is a good deal and entertaining.
Liliana Fulfrost — Google review
We loved our recent visit, and we visited the café and had coffee, which was lovely. A lovely, friendly member of staff served us, and we'll definitely be back. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and we both loved our visit.

If you’re visiting Southampton this place is good for some historical interest. It’s a mix of different centuries all in one. From medieval times to Georgian and Victorian. Well worth a visit for locals and visitors. It’s compact and can be walked around in about an hour. Lots of different articles throughout the centuries as is on two floors with a garden. It has a small café inside too. There are restrooms for all with disabled facilities. It’s got a guide in most rooms for additional information. It’s relatively inexpensive to get in and I thought it was very interesting.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Today Felipe and I visited Southampton’s most important historic building, this unique Tudor House opened up for us to allow us to walk through its wall and discover 800 years of fascinating history 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 The 15th century timber-framed house is located across St Michael’s Square, with King John’s Palace, an adjacent Norman house accessible from Tudor House Garden, dating back a further 300 years. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Tudor House gives a unique and atmospheric insight into the lives and times of Southampton inhabitants throughout the years. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 A great cultural day out suitable for history lovers of all ages

Read so much about Tudor House and the Tudors, so it was quite an experience to actually be here. It's autumn so the Garden is not as pretty as I thought it would be. Great to see all the effort to keep this place standing even after 800 years.
AidaKasuma Salleh — Google review
I am rating this place as ok. First of all, the name is misleading as I expected this house to be somehow connected to the Tudor monarchy, but it is not. The house itself dates back to the 15th century, and its history is shown throughout the house. If you love history, then the house will get your interest. If, like me, you know and appreciate history and have general knowledge and seeing it is like seeing any other historic house. It gives a knowledge of live throughout of centuries and its a present place to see if you have some time to kill.
Monika Marciniak — Google review
We enjoyed our walk around the Tudor House and Garden, especially the interactive parts. The children enjoyed it too (aged 3, 4 and 8). It was really interesting.
Lauren Ward — Google review
Haven't been here since 1975, as a kid, when my Dad took me round. The floorboards are as creaky as I remember, but a lot of the small items on display have gone. Was interesting to hear about the extensive work done to save this lovely old building from falling apart. It had undergone many alterations by dodgy builders in its distant past, so needed a lot of help. The gardens and cafe are also worth checking out, as is the cannon up on the battlements.
Kazandra1 — Google review
I booked Santa trip and was very disappointed! £16 per child wasn’t worth it the craft activities were not for 6 year old and two year old , not much effort on decor and the cafe all food came out different times and they weren’t over busy ! More effort needed all round !
CHARLOTTE SMITH — Google review
The impressive 'Tudor House' was built in 1491. The house was owned by Sir John Dawtrey, the man who worked with Henry VIII to fit out the Royal Navy. The house backs on to the remains of King John's Palace and Southampton City walls.
Chris Kinnersley — Google review
Lovely place to visit, bigger than it looks and friendly staff. They guy who served us going in is getting married soon so good luck and the lady in the cafe keep on making those lovely cheese scones.
Stuart Harrison — Google review
The staff are really friendly. The cafe was good and very reasonably priced with options for kids too. The house was interesting to explore. Young kids can take an explorers pack around with them to keep them interested. There's also an opportunity to dress up.
Matt Baker — Google review
This was a nice attraction in the heart of Southampton, not far from the waterfront and city centre. It was interesting learning about the history of the property and seeing some of the remaining original features. There is a short show included which talks through it's history and the previous owners/occupants. However this is probably aimed more at children. The grounds are nice, but small. I visited in the winter so the flowers and herbs were not in season. I would recommend visiting in the spring or summer to reap the full benefits! There is also a small gift shop with the usual tat you would expect from something like this. I think it's overpriced really for what you get for the cost of the entry ticket. That being said, it really doesn't cost much anyway! So worth a visit if you're looking for things to do.
Will “Bill” Smith — Google review
If you have a chance to visit Southampton and you love history, this is the place for you. This place has been standing for over 800 years and I applaud the effort to keep the place standing. The garden area is beautiful and I learned a lot about the house as I walked around each section.

Really beautiful house, with easy to follow guides & lots of interesting information. Great for families, with lots of interactive activities for children, and really friendly & helpful volunteers. Great resources for visually/hearing impaired visitors, but not wheelchair accessible due to many stairs. I use a walking stick & managed, just took the stairs slowly.

The Solent Sky Museum is a popular attraction in Southampton that celebrates aviation history with an unrivaled collection of restored aircraft. The museum has an Air Training Corps National Museum and is home to the Sandringham Flying Boat and Spitfire F24 fighter plane, both of which are amazing examples of historic flying machines.
The true journey of flying boat from the origin to the end...It also shows the war history and many unknown facts and reality of Southampton. I really amazed about this City as it's much more to explore from this museum. Must to visit once with family and children's. It's really a best place which takes you to the root of Southampton city, Flying boat history and about the world war. If you find it really informative just thumbsup plz....

I have always loved this museum, and have tried to visit at least once a year since my father took my brother and I as kids. The history with the displays is fascinating, and gives a real flavour for the times and places associated with the beautifully kept aircraft. I'm a keen model maker, and the huge displays of scale models are brilliant. The staff are also wonderful, and going and having a cockpit tour of the Beachcomber is an absolute must
Benji Isaac — Google review
Simply amazing. So much information and aircraft of great historical value, significance and importance on display, with rich connections to Southampton, birthplace of the Supermarine Spitfire!. A couple of hours went in a blink of an eye. A great place to top up your aviation knowledge or even general knowledge for that matter. Well worth the admission fee. Highly recommended. Ample paid parking available on the main road parallel with the museum.
Baz Choudhury — Google review
Absolutely excellent little museum. They make the best possible use of the space they have and there's lots more to see than I expected. I was especially impressed with the staff who were very knowledgeable about the aircraft and happy to chat too. Highly recommended for anyone remotely interested in aviation. Sadly, I found out I would be too tall to have been allowed to fly a Harrier, but enjoyed the opportunity to sit on the cockpit regardless.
Charles Sellers — Google review
Absolutely loved it. Very interesting great aircraft exhibits. Good display of firepersons and equipment in a separate section.also a small police section. Trent even opened up the tram shed for me. Result. Everyone was really helpful a number of hands on exhibits as well. In the pipeline a cafe and another undercover area for more aircraft exhibits. Must go back
Anthony Gothard — Google review
A fantastic fully accessible museum, staff were really friendly and gave loads of hints and tips. You can go aboard the boat plane and sit in a few planes. Upstairs on the top floor is the Hampshire Police and Fire Service museum as well, all included in the price. We had a fantastic visit.
Joanne Rickard — Google review
Fantastic place, worth £12 adult entrance fee. Did not realise I was there for two hours. Would go again. I don’t usually give 5/5 ratings, here it’s an exception. Get a tour of plane of the cockpit . Personal are very knowledgeable
Imrane Akram — Google review
From the outside this old hangar looks a bit run down, hidden away, and not looking like too much from the road. Need better marketing. However, it's like stepping into the Tardis! This is a hidden gem that time seems to have forgotten. I was amazed at how many airplanes are on show inside, it's full of history, 3 floors (there is a lift by the way). Old planes are everywhere from the floor to the ceiling. Museum also includes the Hampshire police and Fire Heritage Collection. Talking statue of a policeman little bit scared my kids but they were OK at the end. Like a lot of these small museums they rely on the good work of volunteers and these were brilliant, helpful and friendly. Last time we visited was a while ago and my little ones were allowed to sit in cockpit. They loved it. Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended if you're in Southampton near Town Quay. This wasn’t our first trip and certainly won’t be our last.
ZenZden — Google review
Bigger than expected. Lots to see! Free entry to the Police & Fire museum included too. Can be a bit dark in some places, needs more lights. Also a lot of exhibits are "work in progress".
Will Taylor — Google review
What a gem. Independently run and well worth a visit. Took the kids (2 & 4) on a rainy day and it didn't disappoint. Loads to look at and very informative. You can even sit in a few planes. Will happily go back

The Solent Sky Museum in Southampton is a must-visit destination for families looking for an engaging and educational experience. From the moment you step through the doors, you'll be transported to a world of aviation history, with an impressive collection of aircraft and artifacts on display. The knowledgeable staff are friendly and helpful, and there are plenty of interactive exhibits to keep children entertained. Whether you're an aviation enthusiast or just looking for a fun family day out, the Solent Sky Museum is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

This is a small but very high quality museum covering both the aircraft built in the area, and police fire and auxiliaries active during the second world war. An area of focus is seaplanes. They have a great collection of historically significant seaplanes.
Mark Markovich — Google review
Not much to look at from the outside, but once you are inside it's a real treasure trove of aviation history. Great place to go with or without the family. Interactive for all and knowledgeable volunteers. One of the best attractions was sitting inside an old WW1 cockpit.
Miguel Somoza — Google review
Nice and quiet place, full of avation history and historic planes of southern coast of england. Tourists could go inside the huge “flying boat” which is well preserved and amazing, but the museum in general maybe a bit crowded as many planes fitted in a relatively small area.
Mos Lok — Google review
Wow what a Fantastic place!!! A real hidden gem in the heart of the city, bringing to light the history of marine aviation in a rich way. Volunteers were friendly and informative- a must visit if you're visiting Southampton and have an interest in aviation/marine or war time economic developments.

Museums
The Southampton City Art Gallery is one of the most renowned galleries in the UK, and home to an amazing collection of art from throughout history. The gallery provides a huge range of exhibitions and activities throughout the year, featuring works from some of the most iconic names in British art. With a Designated Collection that's considered one of the strongest in England, this is definitely an institution not to be missed!
Fantastic exhibition by Julian Perry. 'There Rolls The Deep' until June 4th. Climate Change and Rising Sea Levels addressed in beautiful paintings.
Sally Taylor — Google review
Several important bequests over the years have added wonderful works to the gallery collection. On either side of the main gallery (which you reach by the central stairs) are multi-room galleries focusing on various eras. Many major and well-known artists are included. Some sculptures are also on display, including by Rodin.
Laura Carolina — Google review
I am always so surprised when people say that they haven't been to the Gallery and mostly don't even know where it is. The Southampton Art Gallery is very well maintained and there's a peaceful and quiet environment to enjoy the exhibitions. They always have fantastic pieces on display, which change every few months. They recently had several pieces on loan from the National Gallery, which meant I could see them in all their splendour and not have to travel to London to appreciate it. They often display art from lesser-known artists that deserve more publicity; the Gallery is world-renowned and so it no doubt offers them some reward. The staff are friendly and willing to help however they can. Worth a visit for an art lover. It's a hidden gem if you've not been there before.
Desiree Westdorp — Google review
Free entry makes the gallery well worth a visit, with some very well known names amongst the collection.

This free (donations accepted) museum is located near the town centre, the Southampton central rail station, and the town centre parks. On the day of my visit in early August, there were exhibits of modern art, older/traditional paintings, and a John Salt exhibit (so glad I caught it, and discovered a new-for-me British artisit). It took me about an hour to walk through the art museum. The flooring is the usual hard materials of museums. Comfortable, walking shoes are recommended; I was glad I had mine.

What a great Friday night experience! Came to listen to talented young musicians play wonderful ColdPlay classics in a gorgeous venue.
Claire Symes — Google review
A nice and small gallery. It had a nice exhibition, but so many of the art they house had to be put away to show the exhibition, that we missed out we feel. They also had a huge class of schoolchildren running and screaming, which really makes things difficult.

The art gallery fantastic now, the arctic theme exhibition just the cream on the cake. Don’t miss it if you visit the city.

Wonderful gallery! Favourite place to find inspiration. The artwork covers many genres and periods of time. There are contemporary pieces of art here, too. The space has different areas, divided into a series of rooms, some are low lit and moody others are bright and airy with super high ceilings. There are plenty of beautifully crafted benches that invite the viewer to contemplate, or just rest in front of a piece of art. Photography is allowed, and there is also a small amount of relevant books, pamphlets, and postcards available to purchase. If you require refreshments I can recommend The SeaCity Museum Cafe, which is in close proximity and well worth a visit.

A very nice gallery in a very special place. Located on the first floor practically above the ground floor library at the Southampton Civic Center. There is a lift so it is wheelchair accessible. And male and female toilets on the ground floor. They also have a small Arts,Craft and Books shop on the first floor with items made by local Art Students and sold at very reasonable prices. The gallery opened in 1939 with much of the initial funding coming from two bequests. One from Robert Chipper field the other from Frederick William Smith. Southampton City Art Gallery houses some of the finest works of art in the south of England. With over 5,300 items from the Renaissance to the present day. Work includes some of the greats such as J.M.W. Turner, Auguste Rodin, L.S.Lowry, among many others. There is also free entry
Xavier Swancelleste — Google review
It really depends what kind of exhibition is on, but generally, I would recommend this gallery for a good 1-2 hours walk. Their permanent exhibitions are quite good too, yet it would be great to have a bit more curation from room to room. I'm surprised by the renaissance work they have and also a room about a greek myth. The explanations are written to be easily understood, I like that a lot too.

Performing arts theater
Concerts & Shows
The Mayflower Theatre is a 2,300-capacity theater in Southampton that features a wide range of performing arts, including musicals and opera. The theatre is also home to the largest theatre on the south coast.
So far this year I've been 3 times but been going to this theatre since I was young. It's a fantastic theatre offering a wide selection of different theatrical performances from plays to musicals to Panto and comedians. The seats are reasonable for the quality of performance you see as well. This is a large theatre with lots of seating but stage is medium size so pick you seats wisely. Saying that, you'll still enjoy it sat wherever you are inside the Mayflower
Ashleigh Crouch — Google review
The Mayflower Theatre is a beautifully maintained building with loads of history, surviving WWII and will soon be celebrating it's 100th birthday. It has staged some of the greatest shows ranging from a smaller theatre group, bands to the biggest West End shows. There is a bar on all 3 levels for visitors convenience and a lift for visitors mobility issues. You can hire binoculars to see the stage close up for just a pound. I have not ever been disappointed and have seen quite a variety of shows. Long may it continue
Mark Mclaverty-Locke — Google review
This theatre is one of my favourite theatres. There is always so much to come and see. Very clean with great views of the stage.
Angie Claridge Horsley — Google review
Wonderful theatre, with friendly staff. Excellent local hub for high quality theatre without having to travel up to London. Good access for wheelchair users, particularly given the age of the theatre and constraints of the listed building. Important to note, there is a plan of accessible seating available on the website- refer to this as there is not direct wheelchair access to the left side of the stalls area at the front of the stalls. Access as marked on the seating plan is excellent. A full "Changing Places" toilet is available and they have a secure location to leave a wheelchair/mobility scooter/other aid if you prefer to transfer to a seat rather than stay in your own chair. There are also wheelchair spaces at the rear of the upper circle if you prefer to watch from further back. The access scheme is fair and helpful although you need to apply in advance of booking.

I really like this theatre, which regularly brings good shows down from London. The inside has classic theatre charm, and the acoustics are pretty good (saw Book of Mormon sitting in the stalls and it was a great audio/visual experience) The toilets are teeny tiny though, so don’t leave it long in the intermission to queue up… or don’t get a drink before the show lol.

Came to see Titanic the musical on Friday 14th April 23. My daughter treated me for my birthday. The show was amazing enjoyed it very much. First time I have been to the mayflower Southampton. A lovely theatre staff were friendly and very helpful. Thank you for making in amazing Evening out for me and my daughter.

SIX! Was absolutely incredible. The ladies put on a great show and did themselves proud. Was my daughters first ever show at a theatre and she was very impressed. So lucky to have The Mayflower on our doorstep.

Show was really good but The Theatre could do with a severe update. Haven't been for years, chairs are uncomfortable and the floor is very sticky, can pay for binoculars but half of them are missing.

What a beautiful theatre. I am in a wheelchair and used a dedicated entrance. In there was a bathroom that was amazing. The entrance to the theater was down the side and our seats just inside. The view was fairly good and I had no complaints. We had a great time.. the staff were very helpfull and made sure we were ok.

Travelled from London to see Joseph at the Mayflower. Was such an amazing show, all cast were brilliant. Staff inside the theatre were super friendly and helpful. Merchandise is fairly expensive but that's to be expected at a show unfortunately. Beautiful theatre from 1928. Great views from pretty much every seat.

Granddaughter , daughter and myself went to see dinosaur 🦕. Great show 👏 staff very polite and helpful lovely afternoon. Children very excited 😊
Graham Dominey — Google review
With a varied selection of performances good acoustics and a nice interior this is a great place to sit and relax watching a variety of shows. It gets a good atmosphere inside, seats are a typical size for this age/type of building. Intervals there is a bar, ice cream kiosk and snacks available in the foyer.

A Beautiful theatre in Southampton, a few yards from the central train station and near some very good restaurants. The Duty manager Millie is such a lovely, kind and helpful person. Would definitely recommend this place.. Uh may zing!!
Mandi Cooper — Google review
Great venue in a convenient location. Our seats were in front of the stage and were comfortable. Lovely decor. Efficient staff.
Julie Kempen — Google review
I am so impressed. The theatre looks lovely and is well maintained, so many big properties look tired these days. We were row z of the stalls, which was super handy for getting in and out of the theatre quickly. Seats comfy and the view was good despite being close to the back. We saw ‘And then there were none’. Some modern twists on a classic. Good sets, lighting and sound.
Clare Dorkins — Google review
Jesus Christ Superstar. Modern interpretation, the original songs with interpreted dance instead of narration. Great performances, but I prefer the original 1971 version!
Richard Wright — Google review
First time at the Mayflower to see Bonnie and Clyde. The theater itself was lovely. The view was great and i would think all of the seats would be the same. The staff team were super friendly and helpful. The musical was a pleasure to watch. We have already booked 3 more trips. Can't wait to go back

Visited the Mayflower to see Shrek with the grandchildren and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our tickets didn't scan properly but this was quickly sorted and reprinted. Would have been nice to have been offered booster seats for the children.
Lesley Huzzey — Google review
Such a beautiful theatre. Staff are amazing! Clean, well kept and reasonable pricing for shows!! Variety of shows to watch so there's something for everyone!!
Olivia — Google review
Centrally located, two car parks very very close and plenty of disabled parking. Polite friendly helpful staff, period decor, facilities good enough, very good view of the stage from the dress circle and no spurious pillars obscuring the view, brilliant. Welsh National Opera company were in fine form and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. If you arrived by train then it is a very short walk, if you stayed at a central hotel, again a very short walk. Seats are a bit tight so if you're over 6 foot, seriously consider sitting in one of the many boxes otherwise it might be a bit cramped. All things considered it was a very pleasant experience and we enjoyed our second visit to the Mayflower theatre
James Ross — Google review
Lovely old theatre, however the performance of cirque was utterly ruined for the first half by playing the speakers far too loudly— 3 of our group of 5 had to cover their ears for the first half and it ruined the singing as not only was it too loud the quality was tinny, awful and distorted. It seemed to have improved in the second half. Expect extremely long queues for use of the bathrooms. However 4* as it is a lovely theatre and I want it to do well, but after having such a bad experience I can't honestly give it 5.
Michael S — Google review
Great traditional theatre in the heart of Southampton. Variation of shows from dramas to musicals with incredibly talented actors. Seats are spacious and comfortable. Facilities are ok (toilet cubicles are pretty tight) but well maintained. Staff are fabulous and very helpful. Easy to access via train and parking is close by.
Paula Bromfield — Google review
Absolutely fantastic show, enjoyed every minute. Staff were so helpful. I'm an access member and thet made me feel at ease and helpful showing where our seats were. It's great having a seperate entrance so you don't have to queue or get pushed by lots of people. Only downside, it is very painful on my back in those seats. I have quite a few disabilities but sitting so long in the seats becomes very painful on my back. The only thing to make my experience better, would be better seating.

Brewpub
Dancing Man Brewery is a brewery and pub located in Southampton, England. It is known for its modern hoppy beers as well as its Deep South-inspired menu.
Had been recommended here by a few people and the visit was well worth it. The beer and food was fantastic and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the evening. I can recommend taking a look at their specials board and sampling one of the pies. The building is also really interesting with plenty of things to catch your eye. A really nice place to spend an evening for dinner or drinks.
Paul Walker — Google review
Very busy, very popular very large dining venue. The Dancing Man brewery is able to cater to large groups (arranged in advance). It brews its own beers which are available on tap. There are two levels inside plus outdoor seating The food is fairly straightforward pub food but is enjoyable. We thought the service was a bit in the slow side but I guess unsurprising given how busy it was.
Angus Hamilton — Google review
The food was delicious, well presented, and service was awesome. Unfortunately, they tried to charge us double the price - over half my colleagues were unable to come due to covid or isolating... the restaurant did know in advance. Thanks to my assertive colleagues and the kind person in charge - all was sorted by the end. I will return 👍.

Pleasant experience with friends. A little disappointed personally as like cider but they only had a couple of fruit ciders on & I like apple cider. Otherwise lots of different beers & lagers. Staff very friendly. I had two meat roast which was flavoursome but wasn't really a roast in traditional manner. Others loved food but I would have preferred a more traditional style of roast. Luckily we had ordered 2 extra jugs of gravy or it would have been dry, I recommend you do too.
Jane Slowgrove — Google review
I've been on the search for a good roast with my friend this year and DMB definitely rank highly with us both. We had the vegan and two meat roast options, which were well presented, portion wise it was great value and delicious. That's the important part. The roast potatoes can often be a let down when you go for a Sunday roast, but these ones ticked all the boxes. The vegan option was around £15, which I feel was a little steep, considering that my roast option was just all veg, not a tartlet, pie or similar but it was still enjoyable. We just wish we had been told about the specials, as there were pies and we didn't know! Also, there were no drinks menus on the tables.
Kim — Google review
Friendly staff. Was offered a taste of 3 cask beers on arrival. All were good and we had several pints of them subsequently. Interesting building too! Will definitely return.
Andy Wilkinson — Google review
The place is amazing. Loved the atmosphere. The food taste good. Unfortunately service was very slow and staff were unhappy. She brought my drink wrong. She didn’t even look at me face so I can have a chance to say to her that that’s not my drink. It is an amazing place to go but such a shame to see unhappy staff to serve.

Nice Pub, good service, food is fine and usually a good choice of beers.
Mad Shrimp (MadShrimp) — Google review
Nice Brewpub with a decent selection of beers. Really enjoyed some of their ipas and their hazy pale. Place seems to get very busy with tourists from the cruise ships but don't let that put you off. Plenty of outdoor seating which is handy. Didn't try the food on this occasion
Paul Bobo — Google review
Food was OK, but quite expensive. £19 for a burger which was a little dry. £10 for a dessert. Service was poor. Asked for mayo and didn't arrive. Cutlery had to be asked for after each course had arrived, when it was delivered there was not enough cutlery and had to ask again. Very inattentive, and it wasn't busy. Building is lovely and nice atmosphere. Go for a beer but would not advise eating there. Quite a lot of vegan and vegetarian options.
Peter Clarke — Google review
Admittedly I love pubs so this place was always going to score high , however when my exploring companion, the redoubtable Mrs L accompanies me and exclaims that she loves it, then I'm in heaven. This wonderful establishment has it all. Highly recommended . 6 stars if such a score existed.

Came here for a big group meal for 16 people, reserved in advance and couldn't fault a thing. Every element was perfect. The food was lovely, there were plenty of drinks options for everyone, the staff were very friendly and approachable, the venue is wonderful and the accoustics are great - even in a big group on a Saturday we could actually hear each other! No echo like in modern buildings. Can't recommend enough.

We went to the dancing man for dinner and a few drinks. What a great Sunday lunch. Food was delivered to the table warm and delicious. Probably the best roast I’ve had out in Southampton for a long time. And the team were super helpful and understanding about the fact our table was reduced from 8 to 4 at very short notice. Lots of thanks.

We booked a meal for 17 people to celebrate our wedding. Staff, food, atmosphere, everything was just fantastic. All my guests loved their meals and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. The staff worked so hard to make it a special and stress free afternoon. Just fantastic - Thank you.

Great place to spend a couple of ours, drinking beer or eating one of the great pies. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very nice and charming.

We arrived late at 20:40, the kitchen closes at 21:00 but they were happy to squeeze us in. We asked the waitress for some drink recommendations, she recommended a couple of pale ales they were delicious. She clearly seemed knowledgeable about the different drinks/flavours they offered. We went for Vagrant and Big Casino. We ordered the Rag and Bone, the food arrived quickly and it was delicious. Lovely atmosphere inside, good music playing, clean and welcoming. We aren’t from the area but we would love to come back one day!!

Pub
The Rockstone is a charming pub that offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It prides itself on serving delicious cask ales and home-cooked food. The interior features a red brick fireplace, creating a cozy ambiance for its patrons. Additionally, the pub has an intimate terrace where guests can relax and enjoy their meals. The menu boasts an impressive variety of burgers, including classic bacon cheeseburgers, trendy vegan jackfruit options, and flavorful patties with black garlic mayo.
Great team and amazing food! Not on the menu, the the onions rings as a side dish are fantastic. A+
David Hughes — Google review
I was truly looking forward to trying out the burgers these guys are famous for, but unfortunately it seems I set my expectations too high. The burger itself was cooked quite nicely. It was tender and juicy, although lacking a bit of flavour you would otherwise expect from a nicely seasoned burger. The salad accompaniments looked like they were just there to fill the plate. The chips were perfectly average too with light seasoning. Finally, it just felt like the burger didn't get the care and attention it needed (and this burger wasn't even that big, imagine the tower sized ones!). The tiger bread bun was cool to the touch. The bottom bun was soggy from the juices and barely held the burger in place. But that's not the end of the world. It happens. So all in all, not the worst experience. The burger was quite enjoyable. Then why the 3 stars? It's because you're paying a premium (yes, ~£20 for a burger is a premium) for an experience which is quite underwhelming. It just made me realise how nice my own homemade burgers are, at a fraction of the cost too. It makes me somewhat sad that I didn't get to enjoy The Rockstone in its prime. From all the previous reviews, it's clear that these guys are just a shadow of their former self now.

Nice cozy pub, offering variety of beers and berry cider not seen in other pubs. They serve good choices of food and healthy snacks like sweet potato chips. Staff very friendly and look after customers. Will definitely go again

I heard about this place for like 3 years. And a few days ago I got to try their burger. Believe me it was worth it. The burger was amazing. Even the staff was very friendly. I really enjoyed the burger but I don't recommend sitting outside. Also I prefer regular fries over sweet potato ones. If you're in Southampton it's a must try place.

Found this pub by accident but was very happy too. The kitchen didn't open until 5pm but as we just wanted a drink, this wasn't a problem. I was great to find a guvnor that was proud of his cellar work and it showed as the beer was top notch. Very friendly pub with great staff. We will be returning.

This was a very lucky find and whilst it may not be promising on the outside the inside is very clean, tidy and the food is exceptionally good. The ingredients are fresh, especially the salad and fries plus the vegan and gluten free options where very helpful for us. Recommend to everyone who loves pub food to its finest 👌🏻 Thank you for a very delicious meal!

Absolutely awesome meal, very tasty and great service. I had the hottest burger on the menu and my gosh it was a hot one. Extremely tasty and well worth it. It was quiet when we went but normally it is very busy I am told. I am glad that lots of other people think the way I do about The Rockstone. Great food, would definitely go back.

Great pub for a burger meal! Visited a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. When going for pub food I usually do not expect much, but in this case, oh my god! Very good burger selection (including vegan option). The portions were TOO big, we kind of struggled to finish them, so be careful with ordering. Having said that, everything was delicious! For me, the star of the show was definitely the cheese+garlic fries, super delicious and cheese/garlic was running through them, not only on top. Also, the cherry jam in the Heart attack at 63 burger was divine! Definitely recommend, especially for burger lovers and huge portion lovers!

We had a small incident with one of the plates but we treated better that what we would expected. Great friendly staff and very helpful. I had the vegan burger with sweet potato and beans patty and sweet potato fries just brilliant! My partner had a bead burger with black pudding and blue cheese he absolutely loved his too. We definitely recommend it and we will be back soon. Parking next to the pub is up to an hour but there’s other roads around for up to two hours parking.

Indian restaurant
The Indian restaurant Coriander Lounge aims to restore the true ancient flavours and essence of Indian cuisine by using exciting, specialised techniques. They have a brilliant and relaxing atmosphere with an interesting selection of dishes.
To be honest, the best Indian restaurant in Southampton. They are always busy better to reserve in advance. If you love curry and spicy food this is your place. Food might take some time to come but the wait is worth it when you have the first taste.

1. Menu wise good 2. Price wise worth it. 3. Service wise was best all staffs always having a positive attitude. 4. Taste n Quality n Quantity no chances to complain. 5 . This place is really nice, been several times now, it does take an effort to get a smile out of the staff, but the warm up to you, food is a slow to come out but then again the place is super busy with eat in & take away. only managed pic of desserts right at the end, was too hungry until then.

The restaurant was super busy when we arrived which we think is always a good sign. The service was friendly and attentive. They cared we were having a good time. The food itself was first class. We come from Manchester and are spoilt with some amazing Indian restaurants on our doorstep. The Coriander Lounge could easily hold its own against those. The food was superb. We loved it and can highly recommend this place if you love Indian food.

This is the best indian cuisine I have ever tried so far. The chicken tikka jalfrezey is spicy in the most delicious way. The garlic and Pechwari nans are to die for. The lady room door is bit hard to open. Attentive staffs, cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Absolutely great experience, I generally eat Indian food weekly and come from Dartford where there are a few great Indian restaurants. this experience was incredible, we ordered a ton of sides and starters and requested to have it at the same time as a DIY thali. everything was delicious and arrived hot and fast. very reasonably priced. definitely will return next time I'm at Southampton.

What a great place! The food was so yummy! I really appreciated all the menu options and was able to try some new foods. The mint sauce condiment was the best! I wish i could bottle it up and take it home! Loss of a star rating because it was hard to make a reservation in advance. They never actually confirmed I had one even a week out. We ended up just walking in anyways. Good thing we did! Got seated right away!

Italian restaurant
This Italian restaurant is located in an old warehouse and has modern, bright rooms. It offers a good selection of Italian food and has an Italian restaurant in Southampton with a Sinatra/Bennett axis soundtrack at night.
Really beautiful ambience, 5 star hospitality. We ate here for dinner and the polish front of house manager was exceptional. He knew some great recommendations on the wine, he reserved us a beautiful room and all of the staff were so attentive but not over bearing. We were so impressed by this lovely place we will definitely be back, especially as the beds were so comfortable and the service wonderful. Thank you also to the lovely young lady at breakfast!! She was delightful 😀

Staff are attentive and friendly and well presented. Great selection of alcohol in many forms. I like sitting in the bar before going into the restaurant. It's nicely decorated, a good temperature, music not too loud and clearly popular. Food is always totally superb - I had a filled pasta with mushroom and truffle. It was so rich, but it was a total treat and stood out from every other Italian I've visited. Thank you.

Didn't stay in the hotel but had an absolutely lovely meal here for our anniversary. A enuine and authentic Italian - you won't find pizza here but a variety of pasta and Italian meat and fish dishes all served with a happy smile. The restaurant has been voted best Italian in Hampshire several times and it's well earned. Service was pleasant but very Italian, don't be in a rush to go anywhere and you will have a lovely time

Lovely hotel, definitely stay here if you're in Southampton, the rooms are amazing. My only complaint about the rooms is that I couldn't turn the radiators off, the weather had taken an odd turn and was quite warm outside which meant the room was really hot! Breakfast is delicious too, but please add like a bacon sandwich to the menu, I got some strange looks ordering some toast and bacon so I could make my own.

Not eaten here for near on 15 years, now kicking myself. From the moment you walk, the staff are smiling, attentive while maintaining total professionalism. Seated in the bar area is a great start to the evening. Drink and food menus given and you are left to relax and peruse them, without any rushing. The choice of food and drinks is superb. The food was quite simply exceptional, my Ribeye was the best I’ve had, the pasta was also not only absolutely delicious, but full of ingredients and a whole plate full; so many pasta dishes these days are a small amount in the middle of the plate. A gorgeous bottle of red with the meal, followed by gorgeous sweets .. Thank you to all the staff. Beautiful decor, intimate and relaxing.

Disappointing early evening meal in the restaurant. Nice old building and pleasantly furnished. Convenient location on the waterfront. Restaurant service ranged from surely to friendly depending on the waiter that attended to us. Menu choice seemed rather limited. Both of us have dietary issues and both ‘mixed salad’ and ‘chunky roasted Italian vegetables’ couldn’t apparently be served without some ingredients (which suggests basic bags of cash and carry products!) Not at all exceptional for the prices charged. When again in Southampton we will certainly be looking elsewhere.

Review for restaurant not hotel - the food was outstanding, the wine selection was great and the staff absolutely made it. Special mention has to go to Layton who was full of character. Cannot recommend this place enough, will definitely be back! Three courses plus wine for 2 people was ~£100, well worth it.

What about the food, I hear you ask? This is a good Resto serving classic Italian with style and modernity. One of those once a year steaks cooked rare and some ravioli that makes you rethink your career. So satisfying. Good wine list also. And no, I did not stay the night!

Had been meaning to visit for a while and so glad I did! Loved the cool, bright decor, which gave us good holiday vibes! The food was totally delicious! We shared some of the sharing dishes - the cauliflower poppers were yummy - and a vegetarian main, plenty of choice for vegetarian. My highlight was the "yummy coco bun" dessert which was sensational! Look forward to visiting again.

I heard and read about this restaurant and finally I tried it. Small restaurant with great design and good atmosphere. Friendly service and tasty food. I ordered lamb ribs with octopus and yummy potato. The sauce they serve with potatoes was really good. I ordered one of the traditional drinks as well and it was okay. But the price for food was little bit high for the portion size.

Great street food. A variety including vegetarian was available. Curry chicken was very tasty as was the prawn dish. Lots of interesting drinks with herbs and spices. Services was excellent with friendly waitress.

Sunday lunch here was delicious. The restaurant is small, colourful and had a nice buzz to it. Our waiter was friendly, helpful and efficient (what more could you ask for?), and explained patiently what the dishes were. All of our starters, mains and puddings were yummy. We enjoyed them because they tasted good and also for the fact that they were not standard pub fare. Highly recommended place for a meal

Unusual menu with some good dishes. Chicken salad with mango and chickpeas was good. Pineapple excellent. Bright and courful decor. Staff were polite, friendly and efficient even when it was very busy.

Nice restaurant, food is good but not standard out, the portion sizes of the starters are huge, actually a bit too big, I'd rather they reduce the size and the price a little. The menu hasn't changed much in years either. The atmosphere okay, it was very quiet when I went this time, but I have been previously while it was busy and it just feels like it's lacking something. Its very bright, I think dimmer lighting would work better for the evening. Also the booth seating is too high for the tables. Service was good, there were a lot of staff for very few tables.

What a lovely find on a short work trip to Southampton. Great food served by friendly helpful staff. This was a cuisine that I had never tried before, and it certainly won't be the last. Next time I'm in Southampton, this is on my list.

We really enjoyed our meal at Lakaz Maman. The staff are attentive and the meal was superb. We opted for a tapas style meal and were served more than enough with plenty of dishes my vegan daughter could enjoy

A great hidden gem in Soutahmpton. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The food was hot and presented beautifully. The whole restaurant felt welcoming, it was out first time visiting and certainly won't be our last. When booking they asked us whether we were celebrating an occasion, they went the extra mile by having a little plaque on our table, making extra special for us.

Wonderful surprise birthday lunch at the lovely Lakaz Maman. Staff were super friendly and l was very touched by the thoughtful sign. Wonderful tasty food, loved the spicy green sauce and the carrots. Super filling and can't wait to go again. Only negative was that it was too chilly to remove my coat. Well worth visiting!

Had high expectations, wanted to try something different. I think Mauritian food is definitely something I would like, but things just didn't work out today. Service was pleasant, but the whole place just lacked soul today compared to previous reviews.

My favourite Mauritian restaurant. Every time I’m near Southampton, I always do a little detour to stop by and savour the delicious food and vibrant atmosphere. The staff are incredibly kind and accommodating. There are great gluten-free + vegan options. The house mocktails are sweet and refreshing, highly recommended. As starters we had the dirty fries, pineapple and cassava chips, then moved on to the mains (the names of which I forgot), a chicken curry-like dish and a sweet ‘n’ sour-type salmon, which we swapped for tofu (this was the star dish for us). There is a selection of home-made condiments that can be purchased, which allows to take some of the lovely experience back home.

Mixed experience. Good food, poor front of house, not at all welcoming. First and foremost, the food was very good. The octopus and the okra starters were excellent. The traditional curry with mutton was really tasty, and my son was a big fan of the lamb kebab. Now for the service. I booked the table five weeks in advance. On arrival, a girl came over, didn't ask if we'd booked, just said they were full. I had to tell her three times that we'd booked before she got it. It was then a full 15 minutes before we were given the opportunity to order drinks. It was a lengthy break too, between ordering and the food arriving. When the bill arrived, there was an additional mystery item "a graze box"? for £29.95 on my bill. It was removed when I queried it, but the apology was neither fulsome, nor sincere. It's a real shame as I've wanted to visit here for some time, and the experience was not as good as it should have been, and didn't match the quality of the food. Nb We were seated near the door, and I didn't hear anyone else being told that they were full.

Dined here many times over the years - always great friendly service and lovely food - that’s a bit different. The starters are amazing - order lots and share them between you . The cari is great - and the kebabs are too. Big portions. The coco bun dessert is amazing and fun - it looks like a burger served in brioche.

This restaurant never disappoints! The starter is so generous, glad I shared with a friend. The potato bhaji was so delicious and cari chicken main!

Was well worth the drive from London to Southampton. Staff are super friendly and accommodating, was well looked after. The food is mouth watering good. Would have had everything on the menu if I could hehe. Would recommend anyone to pay a visit and to have authentic Mautitian dishes.
