Malmo

Malmo is a great place to discover the 'real' Sweden. The Old Town is a maze of cobbled streets lined with colorful buildings, and it’s home to several interesting museums, like the Malmo Museum. The harborfront has a lively marina and there's also a popular amusement park in Malmo, where you can try your hand at Viking boat racing or fly through the air on a roller coaster.

Sights & Landmarks
The Turning Torso is a residential skyscraper and the tallest building in Scandinavia. It was designed by Spanish Neo-Futurist Santiago Calatrava and built in 2006 in Vastra Hamnen, a redeveloped district near the harbor. The twisting tower has an unconventional design and is popular as a photo spot.
One of the best places to visit in Malmö. You should definitely visit this place for a closer look. Also you could see that tower anywhere from the city center as well. I would recommend to take the pictures from the beach side!
Md Tazbirul Haque — Google review
Great looking building however it's so far away. Recommend you hire a segway or bike to get here. There is no access into the building as it's a residential building. There is a gallery and cafe nearby, which talks about the building but has no views or anything. Personally do not think it's worth th effort to go here.
M So — Google review
Turning Torso is a modern architectural marvel that dominates the skyline of Malmö, Sweden. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, this twisting tower stands as a symbol of innovation and creativity. Its sleek silhouette and unique form make it a captivating sight from every angle. Whether you're admiring it from afar or exploring its interior, Turning Torso never fails to impress. The panoramic views from the top are simply breathtaking, offering a stunning perspective of the city and its surroundings. Visiting Turning Torso is a must-do experience for architecture enthusiasts and anyone seeking inspiration from bold and visionary design. Don't miss the chance to marvel at this iconic landmark that pushes the boundaries of architectural possibility.
Swapnil Mahajan — Google review
The Turning Turso is Malmö's city identifier which can be seen from far away. It is located in the northern part of Malmö, close to the shore. The tower is located in a beautiful and trending part of Malmö, which is partly still under construction. To visit the tower I recommend to use the TT Galleria parking from Lidl, right next to the tower. Parking is free for one hour however be advised that for additional hours the parking payment system is confusing (the machines didn't work).
Claudio Kuenzler — Google review
This tower building of the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava has been inaugurated in 2005. For now, it is the tallest building in whole Scandinavia. It is twisted around its axis for 90 degrees - as the underlying sculpture 'twisting torso'. There are bureaus and apartments within the building. A great example of modern architecture.
D Henrick — Google review
One of the most impressive buildings I have seen in my life. The breathtaking shape emulates the backbone of a person. Make sure you look at the building from the sea, but more important from the main road side where you can see the turning metal framework. Take the time to go to the boardwalk and enjoy the views of the Malmö bridge and the brave sea.
José Manuel Martínez Acosta — Google review
Is one of the tourist attractions here in Malmö. If you're into modern architecture you may love this area. For people like me lovers of the old good buildings it's still a nice contrast to see. You can't go into the building but it is a nice experience. Just use comfortable shoes in Malmö you walk a lot 😊🌈🙌
Johanna Hortt — Google review
Visited Turning Torso whilst completing a circular walk from Malmö's city centre around the lighthouses, harbour, Ribersborgsstranden beach, before heading back into the city centre past the castle. The twisted structure dominates the skyline across Malmö and almost acts as a beacon for the city. I understand that 54 storey building was the tallest in Sweden until recently and it's certainly taller than anything else in the area. We couldn't visit the viewing platform when we visited but this is something that is possible. Definitely worth seeing whilst in Malmö.
Greg “Wigan Wanderers” Knight — Google review
Nice attractive building but no view ponit or publicly accessible platform to view the city. Its a private residence only.
Naveen Perera — Google review
Building looks amazing but you have nothing to do once you reach here. Because you just have to have a look and not get inside. To make it interesting you can take e-bike and enjoy the way to reach here.
Meera Upadhyay — Google review
Have to admit, visited Malmö just to see the Turning Torso by Calatrava. Graceful, dominant and marvellous architecture! A real beauty in imperfection! Must-see landmark in Malmö.

Really nice & unique building, unfortunately the building was closed. Still a good walkaround the building just to see the architecturer. It was a really windy day as you can hear in the video. Can you pretty much see this building from anywhere. Read more at Raif & Vy Travel Blog.

Such great architecturel building in city of Malmo. I wish it was stairs to climb up there by that side crossing-tubes would’ve been adventurous sight. Didn’t know that we must book before we visit there to go up on top to see hole city -view! 🏠

Easy to purchase tickets, fun to see the top floor and observe out. They have multiple telescopes for specific viewing which is nice to look at the bridge. Served with coffee and a cookie. Informative short film to learn about the holding and architecture.
Mark Capriotti — Google review
Worth visiting the beach lookout and have a view of turning Torso. You have a nice walk way near the beach and a park too. I visited the place in Winter ❄️ You might find better spots to relax on days in late Spring and early Summer.

Der zweithöchste Wolkenkratzer in Skandinavien. Erbaut durch einen spanischen Architekten. Empfunden nach einem verdrehten menschlichen Torso. Leider kann man nicht hinauf. Hat offenbar nur Büros und Wohnungen dort. Ist aber schon imposant. Ginge wieder hin. (Translated by Google) The second tallest skyscraper in Scandinavia. Built by a Spanish architect. Feels like a twisted human torso. Unfortunately you can't go up. Apparently only has offices and apartments there. But it's impressive. I would go there again.

Very beautiful! Nice area around this place and near a beautiful beach 🏝️ with nice walking area.
محمد نزار Mohammed Nazar — Google review
Magnificent. I love tall buildings and this one is a truly dizzying site whose top dissapears into low lying clouds above. Despite the windy, rainy, and cold weather, the site was spectacular to look at. The twisting design of the building is truly a work of art, and it's visible from all over the city. I was in awe of the stunning views from the top, and I hear the architecture inside is just as impressive. The residential apartments, offices, and conference rooms are all designed with the utmost attention to detail. The Turning Torso is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Malmö, and I highly recommend adding it to your itinerary.

Specialty Museums
The Disgusting Food Museum in Malmo, Sweden is a museum dedicated to showcasing some of the strangest and most disgusting foods from around the world. From Chinese stinky tofu to Peruvian roasted guinea pigs, this museum is sure to shock and amaze visitors. Whether you're curious about different cultures or just want to see something gross, the Disgusting Food Museum is an essential stop on any trip to Malmo!
Small museum but very interesting. The museum had lots of displays which were vedy elaborate. You have the possibility to try and to smell some of the food. The staff working there are very friendly and helpful. Especially during the tasting phase, it hets quite interesting. 20€ per person for the ticket was a good deal.
Kharuna Ramrukheea — Google review
An interesting experience with food and drinks from around the world. The tasting menu was interesting, a great opportunity to taste insects. However some on the food described in the exhibition sounded delicious, and the only reason it was presented was because at some point in the past, it was not as good as it is now, which I found to miss the point a little. And a smell lingered on my clothes until the end of the day.
Pierre Varlez — Google review
A great place to go with family or friends. Has activities (smelling, tasting and photo booth), history to read regarding food and controversial topics and the exhibits change through time based on the owners chosen exhibits and tasting different foods. At the end there is a taste bingo competition between you and your colleagues, the admission ticket doubles up as a throw up bag and a small shop is available for items to purchase.
Ros Daw — Google review
An interesting exhibition about the weird dishes around the world as I like some of the dishes 🙈 Really enjoyed my visit here and loved reading the stories behind the dishes. The staff were helpful but the price I think it’s a bit expensive. Overall a very good experience and good for a malmo day trip.
Ging Suwalee — Google review
Really great exhibit!! They have the actual products there, a description of it and pictures as well as videos. You really learn a lot and at the end there’s a tasting section with a selection of cheeses, drinks, hot sauces, fish products and a few other bits. The staff are also wonderful and can talk in Swedish and English and are very accommodating and know a lot of the products
ed — Google review
It was a unique experience. Not only you will see disgusting food exhibit but also informations about history that will make you disgust. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. They have samples of some of the food that are available to taste. I highly recommend this activity to do in Malmö.
Wanderlust Ian — Google review
"I tasted everything" 🤪 Really interesting experience and definitely should be on a bucket list. The room is small, but it's not a problem, everything is well coordinated. The staff it's super friendly and entertaining. The guys really explain what you will taste and you can prepare yourself for the experience. You have to taste everything. The hot sauces are extremely hot, so keep that in mind. Nice touch: the entrance ticket it's also a vomit bag. Today someone did vomit, near the end of the program, so they didn't finish the day with an "incident"🤮. Open your mind and enjoy a unique tasting experience. Guys, let me know when you add "piftie" to the collection 🤪
Cristina Vancsa — Google review
Left almost an hour ago and i can still smell some of the jars. I had originally booked the experience for tomorrow, but they were so accommodating and allows entry as we were passing today. Really insightful, and disgusting 🤢 Started the taste Bingo and failed after crickets 🦗 I'm pretty sure he's still lingering in my mouth! 🤮 Great items to buy as souvenirs and gifts to take home for family!!
Rebecca Hollingsworth (Bec Mag Hol) — Google review
Great experience !!! They have lots of interesting things on display, along with their cultural significance and history. They have "Smell Jars" so you can actually smell some of the items on display. At the end, they offer a "Disgusting Food Challenge". If you can make it through the entire series of insects, fermented cheese, and other oddities, they let you spin a wheel for a free prize !!!! The final challenge is a series of hot sauces. The spiciest available in the market. They make you sign a waiver before attempting that. 10/10 Recommended. They have a great gift shop to buy edible insects and worms.
PRS — Google review
This place is a lot of fun. The entrance ticket is pricey, but I really enjoy it. A lot of the entries are questionable, and clearly seen through an American lens (and it speaks to the fact that y'all really don't understand where your food comes from...), but it's fun nonetheless. The tickets are printed on paper sick bags, like the ones you get on airplanes. There are smelling stations and a tasting track. People seem to throw up from time to time, but that's also due to the fact that these foods are offered out of context (nobody in their right mind would eat hákarl or surströmming without alcohol to follow). Recommended for group visits, perhaps not for a first date as pointed out in other reviews. It's possible to buy some of the foods mentioned in the museum.
Alessandro Virtuoso — Google review
Went there while my son was sleeping in his stroller, so I was able to explore the place, which involved looking at, smelling and eating stuff. It was truly gross and yet interesting. They put in a lot of effort to make sure everything is fresh, including insects on some of the cheeses (yikes). You start by trying some jelly beans - if you get lucky it’s a good flavor, or it can be ear wax / puke or even cut grass. Then towards the end there is a bunch of stuff you can try. It was fun to find out what all I could stand and even taste!
Astha Batra — Google review
This place is actually really informative and fun as well! It's a nice exhibition about weird food all over the world. In the end you'll be able to even try some of the worst food there (yes, even Surströmming). If you manage to eat all the food + try the hottest chilli sauces out there, you can go home with a shirt that says "I tried everything".
Lari Habi — Google review
A must visit! The staff are amazing and the museum is also very interactive which makes you really enjoy the experience. It is a nice way to learn about how people eat or use to eat I different parts of the world. The fact that there also is a taste challenge pushed our limits but in a good way.
A — Google review
It was so extremely fun! The staff was great and super nice to us. My boyfriend tried everything at the tasting bar (even all the hot sauces) but I was too afraid haha! Definitely recommend this :)
Noah — Google review
Such a fun interactive museum! You start with ~30 different exhibits that are mostly visual but a few you can smell (mostly cheeses). Then you get to the tasting section at the end and if you’re lucky, you’ll get Momo. He didn’t pressure us into trying anything we didn’t want to, and was such a nice guy to talk to about the different foods. We started with some dried bugs, which were nice, then some cheeses and some drinks like Sourkraut Juice. While we were tasting, a man fainted from trying the hot sauces (he was fine, but spilled milk all over himself and narrowly missed hitting his head on the concrete) so we skipped over those. Overall, one of the best museums I’ve been to, and would highly recommend going there if you’re in Malmö
Andrew — Google review
I was very excited to check this museum out when we were in Malmö! We had a ticket for 2:45 but they let us come in early. It was a really fun exhibit, they had a lot of displays of gross food from around the world - some quite shocking to read about! When it’s crowded, it can a little backed up going through the exhibits. We ended up going to the tasting counter halfway through and finishing up the remaining exhibits after. The tasting bar staff were all amazingly informative and friendly. They took time to explain all the things we were trying. One of them was definitely trying to get me to vomit but in a fun friendly way!! Nothing was ever forced. The barf bag admission ticket was pretty genius and I got to try a lot of whacky food. The worst was definitely the salt licorice! All in all, super fun museum!
Rosie HK — Google review
Day trip to Malmo meant we had to check out the Disgusting Food Museum! What an experience and I strongly recommend you check it out! After walking through the exhibits you get to taste a variety of rare, “disgusting” (most are not so bad), and extreme hot sauces. Make sure you try them all at least once! It’s fun to do with friends and family alike.
Heath Ward — Google review
Amazing experience. I loved reading about all the weird kind of stuff that they have there. I was surprised to find out that some stuff that I’ve already knew about is considered disgusting in other countries. I tried all the 25 types of food, spinner the wheel and got a prize. Exciting and interesting experience🫶🏼 will definitely take my friends there when they visit.
Sorana Lehene — Google review
The museum offers unique and unconventional experience by showcasing a variety of culturally diverse foods that challenge conventional notions of taste. It aims to explore the subjective nature of disgust and broaden cultural perspectives on what is considered edible. While not everyone may find the exhibit appetizing, it serves as a thought-provoking exploration of culinary diversity and cultural perceptions of food.
Jakub Brzeski — Google review
Great museum, awesome experience!! Not only do u get to see and learn about all of these disgusting foods, but you get to try some at the end as well! Def adds to the experience. All the staff were very friendly and enthusiastic about their jobs. The tasting bar was a great experience, they are great at explaining what each item tastes like before you sample it, and what to expect in terms of texture, smell, and after taste. I liked how they gave out barf bags, nice touch! Overall, awesome museum. Will hope to come back someday.
Jill Calure — Google review
I was not sure if I was going to do this but landed up completing the entire experience. The exhibition part was fun but my favorite part was definitely the tasting. It was not nearly as bad as I was expecting. Some of the things were really yummy. I won't run the surprise with a full breakdown but definitely worth the experience.
Marc Benny — Google review
Their staff are very nice and the exhibits are informative and interactive! Love the tasting section though it’s quite gross! Recommend going there!

Lilla Torg, which means "small square," may not stand out on a map, but it is a popular destination for tourists. The cobblestone square is surrounded by charming restaurants and cafes that offer outdoor seating in the summer. This creates a lively atmosphere that showcases the best of Malmo. Additionally, during the summer months, numerous food stalls converge on the square, making it one of Malmö's top attractions.

Malmö Castle is a fortress built in the 1500s that now functions as a museum. It features exhibitions on local history, technology, and science. There is an aquarium within the castle complex that showcases the marine life around it.
Amazing! For just 2 euros we got to see the the aquarium, two museums and the castle walls. Totally worth it. We spent more than two hours here and we learned lots of new and interesting things

It’s a lovely museum with a display of arts, history and etc. some interesting modern contemporary exhibits as well. Entry fee is very cheap and you have access to the castle as well. Description is very clear and easy to follow. I enjoyed the experience.

Lot of things to do. Can spent a full day here. 1. The castle itself 2. The aquarium 3. Science exhibition 4. Train and car museum 5. Lots more We went as a couple but the science exhibitions brought out the child in us. The entry fee is cheap and can be purchased in person only. No online tickets available. We travelled from Copenhagen for a day trip. Absolutely worth it.

It is a beautiful cultural place to visit. The history behind the castle is fascinating. The paintings inside are awesome and it's cost me and my partner only 80 Swedish crowns to get in.

Another great example of Northern European Brick Gothic architecture... The castle grounds are a must see, and I'm sure are spectacular any time of year. The museum is a great little gateway into the medieval times with histories and explanations to the ever evolving landscape of Malmö. I reckon it is a must see for any castle aficionados.
Chris Oh! Boylesque — Google review
Not much to do if your hoping to skip buying tickets to the museum part and just walk around. Kind've in bad shape and frumpy compared to other castle forts in the region. Parking was a bit rough.

Castle and museum full of history and fun things for the kids. We spent some hours there, should probably have spent 2 days. So much to see and do.
May-Elin Westg?rd (Maya) — Google review
It's a fun museum but the first part doesn't have translation in English ( maybe I didn't see the QR code but in that case it should be obvious so people could scan it ) and some other parts as well. Most interesting part for me was the video about castle's history. It was very well made. I like the fact I was able to see axolotl as well

Really liked the experience of going over there and exploring the history. There are exhibitions lots of other things in science museum ....vintage cars and also art exhibitions....and the castle looks beautiful....with lots of artifacts and historical facts over there....anyone can go over there with friends and family i have shared the path showing on what is on which floor.

Definitely not the most impressive Castle but it has it's charm. Nowadays serves as museum and grounds for seasonal exhibitions. I do highly recommend visiting Park next to it with beautiful plant gardens from different parts of the world and the beautiful windmill.

During our visit to Malmo Castle, we were transported back in time to witness its rich and storied history. Built in 1434, the castle stands as a remarkable testament to the past. It was a true feast for the eyes, showcasing exquisite architecture and captivating details. The entry fee of SEK 60, which included access to the museum, proved to be a worthwhile and reasonable investment. The staff members were incredibly helpful, ensuring a pleasant and informative experience. Parking was conveniently located nearby, making access to the castle hassle-free. Overall, our visit to Malmo Castle was nothing short of amazing, allowing us to delve into the fascinating history of the Malmo dynasty.

If you like castles it is a nice place to walk to and take some photos. It is in Scania neighborhood. Don't expect some medieval huge castle, it's more like a small museum. Nice building surrounded by a water trench.

I have always loved history, and the same goes for museums. Malmö Castle has a very relevant and creative exhibition of Art, Culture, and History. It immerses people in the time and the stories behind the presentations. You will not be disappointed if you want to take a journey through history, especially with good company.

Best castle I've been to, very friendly staff and the exhibits were fantastic. The kind of place that you can visit over and over again
Kevin Mallon — Google review
Like, the Aquarium was cool and a couple of artworks. But other than that there was totally bad artworks, don't get me wrong but this "modern" art is not worth it. But i liked the art, mostly. But yes the first part was quite good with the animals but other than that I don't think it's worth it.
Marko Lichner — Google review
This is a wonderful place where you can see and hear a lot of different things like history of the castle, art gallery, the beginning of life on the our planet, mini zoo with some very special animals from all around the world... Be aware that you need 2-3 hours to visit everything.
Ana Sremcevic — Google review
Not quite the castle vibe that you’d expect. They had an aquarium which was really nice. The art gallery is also something interesting to see, but the actual castle looks a bit unorganized and lacks the interesting historical facts and stories about it. I wasn’t impressed, but you might like it.

Malmo Castle - fortress. I didn’t have a chance to come inside. I have decided not to visit museum, but I just wanted to walk around and see this castle. To be honest if I would be going inside probably I would have a better option about it. I hope to visit the museum one day.

Kings park is magnificent & atmospheric. It's a historic & beautiful English style city park with a cast iron fountain, windmill, bridges, lakes, botanical garden, a cafe in a greenhouse, & a castle in the end. A simple and affordable lunch restaurant in the portside district of Malmo, Saltimporten Canteen is popular for its high quality seasonal cuisine and minimalist setting.
One of our favorite lunch spots in Malmo. The vegetarian plate is always superb, and they bake their own sourdough daily. The sourdough is as good as we've had anywhere (at home in SF and Sacramento)! Not to go totally Paul Hollywood or anything, but check out the bread structure in the photo below... delish!
WRL — Google review
The food, flavour-wise, is bombastic!!! It’s absolutely tasty and delicious. Simple (one item on the menu with vegan option) and yummy. The mashed potato is the creamiest I ever tasted. The rooster was tender and the sauce was devilishly saucy! I loved the food. 😍 Service got a 3 star because you had to cut your own bread. Pick up the food plate from the counter, get your cutlery, drinking glass and water bottle, and then find a spot to seat. After eating you’d return your empty plate to the counter. So basically, like you were back in boarding school or something of the sort. Nevertheless, I suppose it’s part of the Swedish charm? 🤷🏾‍♂️ Atmospherically banal in my honest opinion. They could use some interior touches but then again it’s just a “lunch restaurant”. I’ll be returning there no doubt. Just for the food. 😋

Truly exquisite and absolutely delicious lunch! One of the hidden gems of Malmö in a somewhat remote location, but so worth a visit!

Absolutely amazing. Seasonal ingredients, focus on one dish and beautiful atmosphere as well as furniture. The location is a bit outside, but it really fits the vibe perfectly. We were lucky enough to be there when they served beef tartar, and it was amazing. Great assortment of seasonal ingredients, delicious and flavorful mayo as well as dressings and the beef was incredibly good. Obviously grinded in house, as shown by the large chunks and variations in color. Bread is plentiful and freshly baked and it was wonderful. You help yourself to as much as you want, which also goes for the water. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely come back next time I am In Malmø. EDIT: Came back a second time and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Please never close this place, because I just initiated a new tradition where I have to visit this place every time I cross the bridge. It’s definitely one of my favorite places ever.

Some form of raw meat this time. Actually very good compared to the time I accidentally had a raw hamburger like thing in France. A bit loud to sit indoors, but a sunny day outdoors looking at the ships leaving and entering Malmö makes it a very nice break from the more nearby lunch restaurants once in a while.

Interesting combination of ingredients that ends up as a very tasty meal. Meat was perfectly made, cauliflower somehow tasted better than usual and the yellow sauce was very delicious as well. Would definitely recommend 🤩

a really great scandinavian lunch experience with efficient service, delicious food and ingredients, and a nice ambiance. canteen style with a rotating menu every weekday (1 meat, 1 vegetarian, check their website for the menu). lunch is usually 125sek and comes with unlimited bread. high quality ingredients and flavors: i came on a friday afternoon when they were serving lamb salad (mint, greens, peas). the salad was fresh and the lamb was flavorful. generous portions and good bread. restaurant was bustling around 12:30pm with a lot of locals and what seems to have been coworkers. lots of indoor and outdoor tables. the canteen is on the other side of the bridge at the end of the long pier/near warehouses. it's a bit out of the way so you definitely wouldn't stumble upon it, but i highly recommend taking the walk/bike/drive out. there is a malmö by bike station right next to the restaurant. i would definitely come back!

So fresh, so tasty, and so rich with flavor. There was a nice kick to the sauce and it made the dish all that much better. This restaurant was an experience and definitely worth it to make the trip. Service: 5/5 - Super friendly and welcoming staff. Ambiance: 4/5 - The area was a secluded and not so populated warehouse/commercial district. It's not the greatest but the space for this restaurant is very clean.

A visit to Malmö is just not complete without a visit to this pearl! Absolute food Mekka and on top run by wonderful people. Year after year: a trusty place for good quality!

Best lunch option in Malmö. Great staff & atmosphere. A little hard to find if you’re a foreigner but a gem if you can make it. I can easily say that it was one of the best lunches i have ever had. They have huge wooden tables, shared by people. It’s only open for a limited time everyday. Don’t miss it.

If you're looking for a unique, stylish and Delicious Scandinavian restaurant in Malmö, look no further than Lyran. Here, you'll enjoy delicious dishes inspired by the region's producers, prepared with premium ingredients in an innovative way. You'll find the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring this vibrant city.
Was a good while since we were here, but I thought I'd actually write something. Easily the best up scale eating in Malmö I've experienced so far. Some of the dishes were really special, and nothing was bad. We had the wine package, which I can really recommend. It was generous, great fit to the food, and really stood out from what I've drank as far as wine before. There's a lot of servings, and for the price it's a total steal. I think this restaurant could have at least a star, if you're interested in a special dinner I'd take the opportunity to go here before they do get one.
Sebastian Karlsson — Google review
Lovely food that is carefully prepared to take it to another level. Personally a bit too vegetarian oriented for my liking but what they served was delicious nonetheless.
Lucija Cetin — Google review
Visited Lyran again yesterday. Compared to the first time, the wines and service was not up to par. Also, only one dish, the fish, was top notch. An onion serving was good. The snacks were boring, and the remaining servings lacked finesse and texture.

I went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I told the waitress about it when I came in and then my husband came and she did congratulate him. The staff seemed very rehearsed and with a time schedule. They showed no interest in trying to make a connection with their guests. The waiter that help me with picking my wine was also not very good. I tried 3 different wines before I said that I could take that one but I only said it to be nice and not seem picky. It is a set menu where you get 7 dishes. There were small dishes but they were very filling. I felt satisfied when leaving the restaurant and wasn’t hungry. The dishes came out at a decent pace which was also nice. The dishes had to much going on and weren’t what I expected. My favourite dish was the potatoes in butter. The other dishes were a bit too much. It was nice to go and try it but to be honest, I don’t think I would go back.

We had a lovely time with superb food and service. The balance of the dishes is extraordinary as well as the combination of the wine tasting. Why this place doesn’t have a Michelin star is beyond me, so my advice when in Malmö go to Lyran!
Yamal Stitou — Google review
The fixed menu was creative but tastewise not to my liking. Most seating is downstairs where it was very warm even though it was only 20 degrees Celsius that day

Best food experience. Lyran serves refined, uncomplicated and chefs kiss delicious food. As a vegan, I really appreciated the adapted menu, with true alternatives, rather than substitutes clearly lacking the meat. Amazing experience!

Just wow! The food was astonishing and the service was also good. The food was an experience in itself. I would totally recommend to go to this restaurant. You pay for a menu, and you don’t know what you get, but that’s the amazing part about the experience. The price is totally worth it!

Amazing dinner!!! Lucky us we got a table after being on the waiting list for a week if I could recall. It was my first time here and it was great. Service was very good, they even explained the dishes in English. We came at 5pm and left at 7.30pm. The spring season has heaps of amazing ingredients. We added Rossini caviar for the fish course. All in all, it was such an experience and I would love to visit again in another season.
Syahirah Halim — Google review
Great mix of perfectly served meals. Combination of tastes and well coked food. Professional service as a right complement !! To repeat in my next visits.
Santiago Olmedo Bach — Google review
Lovely little place serving well thought out food and presented so very well. Sat at the bar and watched the food being assembled. 9 courses including bread, no menu, just a list of sourced ingredients. Just sit back and enjoy what is placed in front of you. Dishes of note was the mushroom under a jelly of sorts and the fish with finger lime. The caviar on the meat was a nice touch but you can opt not to have it as the dish itself did not need it. All food was well balanced. Well priced for what you get.
Andrianna H — Google review
I tried their tasting menu, including the wine pairing. The food is not bad, but I don't think it's great either. The flavor combinations seemed interesting on paper, but none of the dishes impressed me. The wines didn't work for me either. I had higher expectations on this place.
Chris — Google review
The best dish was the scallops with blood oranges, but not quite 5 stars because a couple of dishes were just okay, and the paired wines weren't for me. Our server, however, was very good and explained the different dishes well.
Matthew Santos — Google review
The restaurant is nice. It is expensive but worth it. The staff was very nice and friendly. When it comes to food, everything was delicious. The dishes were scaling up as the night went, creating a very nice experience. We didn't go for the wine pairing, but the wine recommendation was amazing.
Bruno Leite Alves — Google review
We hadn’t been to lyran for many years but we’re excited to go back. However, the food was not as good as we remembered it to be. Many of the servings were very good, but three of the dishes didn’t work at all. Some of the dishes resembled each other and lacked variation. So all in all still good, but in our opinion there are now better alternatives in Malmö.
Marcus Norrving — Google review
Incredibly good value for money! An impressive vegan menu with a non-alcoholic pairing. It definitely has something to impress with! Amazing!
Vladimir Svergun — Google review
Tasting menus for the rest of us. Simple dishes but the quality of the cooking is very high. Friendly service and cozy environment. This is one of those places that have outstanding value for your money. We paid 600 SEK per person for about 8 servings or so. If you want to try a tasting menu but don't want to drop several thousand SEK on a place like Vollmers then this is an excellent option. We will be back!

This organic café-restaurant located in Folkets Park is a great spot for a relaxed lunch or dinner with delicious pizzas and beers. The atmosphere is charming and the waitstaff are very friendly.
Honestly this was long overdue. Far i Hatten has been rumored to combine comfort food with comfort beer for a long time. 3 Fonteinen,To Øl and Fermenterarna in combination with some amazing pizza. The Setting + The staff + The food + The Beer = The Experience. Top notch.

This place has such a great atmosphere! The pizza I ate was absolutely delicious. I quite underestimated when I got a suggestion to eat their pizza from a friend of mine. But I was wrong. The pizza was amazing and tasty, I felt like I was having the pizza in Italy! I loved it. Thank you!

Great place. One of my favorites in Malmö. The food is delicious, the wine selection is like nowhere else and the service is great. The summer terrace is also one of the best hangout places in the city. Keep it up!

I’ve come here several times for pizza and beer. Fridays and now on a Sunday. I’ve had 3 pizzas on the menu. The most delicious option is the one with pumpkin and nuts but all delicious in general. I’ve also tried their beers, from classic to more fruity EPAs. This Sunday is calm and cozy and relaxing, a perfect roundup to a weekend

This was such a warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere! I had possibly the tastiest pizza of my life here, and the ice cream for desert was also up there with one of the best i’ve ever tasted! Highly, highly recommend this place for the food, vibes and friendly staff.

I simply loved this place. It's cozy, warm and full of live. I highly recommend the pizza here. The prices and services were good. The restaurant is pretty well located in Folkets Park in the heart of Malmö.

Great pizza, certainly some unique toppings combinations but absolutely delicious! Never had cabbage and apple on a pizza before but it really worked. Cool location too, I hear it's nice in summer so I might just have to come back to Malmö...

One of the best pizza in Malmö! I love their firewood baked pizzas, with a big outside terrace this place is always lively, every period of the year. Nice sélection of beers and their rotation on the menu always makes me try new pizza flavours

Far I hatten is such a cozy and friendly place. Any season of the year you can chill, have a beer and just catch up with friends. It’s one of my go to places! The pizza there is always good and there’s different options every time I visit. Recommend 1000% ♥️

What a run down place… nothing like in the pictures. Came with a friend to eat here because there was nowhere else to eat nearby. What a disappointment, it’s just unpleasant to be inside. No service, dirty tables, old chairs, carpets, everything. It took forever for the servers to clean the tables but they never actually wiped it leaving it stained and dirty. Luckily the pasta came quickly, so we had a quick bite and ran from there. The whole area around is a mess too, what a weird park. Time for a renovation of the whole thing. The pasta was ok.

The Malmö Saluhall market is a food lover's paradise with stalls selling both delicious dishes and interesting ingredients. It's conveniently located near the harbour, making it a popular spot to enjoy lunch or dinner.
Great place for large groups to dine at. There’s ample seating both indoor and outdoor. Quite a lot of food choices from pasta to meatballs and burgers to ice-cream. They have a really good pastry counter too and the whole place is clean and welcoming. Would visit again when in Malmö.
Teck Boon — Google review
Trendy place to grab some food in Malmö. But the place was way too crowded for my taste. You literally had to walk through people groups to get somewhere. Hence not enough seating possibilities when you finally got some food. There are only three toilets available - by far not enough for the capacity. The food shops are very good though and staff was nice. Tested the St. Jakob bakery. The parking next to the Saluhall is one huge mess - use another parking if possible.
Claudio Kuenzler — Google review
A really cool place to have lunch or a few drinks. The burger is delicious and the ice cream is not to be missed ! Lots of other options and cuisines to choose from too! Some shops don’t take cash tho.

modern architecture, great food. It's a must if you're in the area, and you have to be there because there's a lot to see nearby

Definitely worth a visit. There's some really tasty food & a good vibe. We had a great night just trying a little something from each place, washed down with some bubbly, happy days. Just don't expect a cheap night & it did seem that most of the crowd were a kinda hipster, business mix which isn't really my scene, but everyone seemed friendly as & were having a good time.

Awesome international food hall with well executed choices and good beer selections. The Swedish meatballs are a must try, and the sandwiches and pizza were great too. Every shop has its own curated set of craft beer, wine, and cocktails, so this is quite the foodie paradise. You can even buy some cheese, chocolate, and more as take home items. I do recommend a meal here! Visit Date: May 29, 2023
Nelson Lau — Google review
A food hall with excellent stands for fish, meat and cheese delicacies, where you can also eat freshly prepared meals, as well as enjoy different kinds of international street foods such as burgers, falafel, ramen etc. Also a bakery offers swedish cakes, bread and coffee/hot chocolate. We had wished to try everything, which unfortunately was not possible due to lack of time, but we will definitely come back.
Janna Schweim — Google review
Very nice lunch place. Quick to order and get food. Easy to get access to the bathroom and kids chairs. Fitting for small kids families super nicely. I love the pasta place. The bakery is wonderful too. Pizza is good too. Pity that the noodles place pink head is not selling noodles anymore. Loved their noodles too. Recommend!

We stayed in Malmö for a total of 3 days and on the last day we had Swedish meatballs and falafel hummus salad at the Saluhall and I can wholeheartedly say that the falafel was the best food I've had there. The explosion of flavours was wonderful, definitely a must-eat, I can't recommend it more. The meatballs were really good as well, just not that impressive, but if you're visiting Sweden, I'd say give them a try. The berries were a nice touch.
Paula Crismariu — Google review
Nicely decorated indoor market. It contains everything that a local market would contain. We drank coffee and enjoyed the atmosphere.

Well I would rather eat here than in the Tivoli food hall. Prices are reasonable, the place offers various products and dishes, there is actual place to sit and enjoy the food.

Saluhall in Malmo, Sweden, is a culinary haven boasting an exceptional array of traditional Swedish delicacies. The vibrant market showcases a diverse selection of high-quality local produce, ensuring a delightful gastronomic experience. From savory herring to delectable meatballs, Saluhall captures the essence of Swedish cuisine, making it a must-visit for those seeking an authentic culinary adventure in Malmo.
Cristian Cubillos Rodríguez — Google review
The food I had from Noi Pizza was wonderful. A truly authentic margarita pizza from the brick oven they had on site. An ice cold Coke zero from a glass bottle to polish things off. I walked around the food hall several times before making a decision maybe because it was near closing time on Sunday not all of them. Food shops were open. The Italian and the Asian also looked good just wasn’t what I was interested in. A friend had a very good looking truffle burger from a burger and fries spot. It’s relatively close to the train station and it’s great when you’re with a group so that people can choose what they want. Each shop has seating nearby, and because it wasn’t busy on a Sunday. It was easy to sit back and relax, and even have chairs for our purchases

Definitely worth a visit! Very delicious food, great atmosphere 🫶🏼 One and only minus is that the toilet has a huge queue.

Food court near the centre of Malmö. Great choice of foods and drinks. I had a pork belly sandwich, dirty potatoes and a local beer. Cool to sit on the canteen style like benches and watch the world go by. Probably 10-12 stands. Spoilt for choice and it all was delicious. Must if you are coming to Malmo from the central station. Easy walk.

Dedicated to modern Scandinavian cuisine, award-winning restaurant Vollmers features a degustation menu with imaginative dishes inspired by seasonal flavours. Using local and fresh ingredients, the chefs emphasize the unique flavours of Scandinavia.
Finally went to Vollmers and it was so worth the wait. Excellent service and amazing food. The staff was so nice, good at explaining, and overall really great. The food was very varied, great presentation and so tasty. The restaurant itself was very cozy and the chairs very comfy. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a fine dining experience.
Christian Hansen — Google review
It was quite an experience at Vollmers in Malmo. The service was fantastic, and we were received even before we reached the restaurant. The restaurant had an impressive repertoire for the evening, which included 100-year old bread, various seafood dishes containing local herbs and cheese. They even included a map to show what the ingredients were collected, and the restaurant is a frontline model for future sustainable dining experience. We didn't give 5 stars because we felt the dishes were too heavy on the acidity and sweetness, and we didn't catch a break from one course to another.
Libinski 0G — Google review
First class service from the moment we were at the door until we got our jackets on at the end of our visit. Superb food and drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholics. Great pairing of non alcoholic juices to the food. According to my company who had a wine package, it was also the case with the wines. The Entire visit was just as expected from a 2 Michelin star restaurant.
Mea EA — Google review
We had a fantastic food- & drink experience at Vollmers. Staff was also great feeling the atmosphere making our experience very relaxed and not “2 Michelin star stiff”. Not cheap but worth every crown knowing the hard work behind the scene. Perfect and brave pairing of food and wine. Also nice to meet the chefs in the small cosy dining hall presenting their food. Probably missed to photograph some dishes but here comes some of them.
Lars Lagerkvist — Google review
Service, food and wine on point! I ripped one star because one of the dishes was to salty, probably a one-time problem so don't worry to much about that. If you're into fine dining Vollmers is absolutely worth a visit!
Anders Thomasson — Google review
Amazing experience! Perfect food and great service. Hope to go again, definitely worth visiting Malmö just to go here! The photos are of the first starter snacks.

I have been to many restaurants in the Micheline guide, only one resulting in food poisoning for me and everyone else I was there with, namely Vollmers. Disregarding the food poisoning however I must say that Vollmers was great. Excellent service and of course great food. But not worth me and my family being sick for nearly a week with Vollmers offering one free meal in the future as compensation….
Oliver C — Google review
A cozy restaurant with warm service. The local products from Skåne were highlighted so well and seamlessly here. I thought the dishes were a great blend of traditional and modern. Also, Krug by the glass is a nice touch, but don’t hesitate getting the juice pairing. I find some fine dining places make juices that can be quite heavy and acidic after awhile, but I found the juices here to be light and refreshing. I will definitely find my way back here someday.
Janet Y — Google review
We had an amazing experience at Vollmers. The presentation of the food, the ambience, the quality of the ingredients all sourced from nearby farms in mainly Skåne, and of course the staff - who were incredibly attentive, kind and fun, without in any way being stiff or overly formal - made this place one of our absolute top dinner experiences ever. The two michelin stars are well deserved and we are very grateful we finally got to experience a dinner at Vollmers. Even our 2,5 year old enjoyed, tasted most of the very exciting and inventive dishes, and got her own specially adaptedbowl of ice cream at the end - and despite the fine dining setting we didn't at any moment feel unwelcome or uncomfortable with a toddler, as the staff did everything to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. Huge thank you to Karin, Manager and head Sommelier, for taking the time to chat and making us feel like family. We'll be back!
Caroline Bach — Google review
Even though 5 stars might be for granted given the level of haute cuisine, it still amazes me how everything was truly fantastic. From the attentive yet genuine and talkative staff, to the nice mellow French music, to the interior so minimalistic but warm. Then the food, 7 main dishes preceded and followed by a series of smaller samples that really showcased the range of creativity in the kitchen. A total of 18 different explosive combinations. A special praise for the focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. So hard to pick a favorite dish, in each of them something was truly a memorable experience, may that be an unconventional pairing, a texture, an aftertaste. Really impressive. Expensive but worth it.
Matteo Bocci — Google review
Reason enough to travel to Malmö! Excellent food, some dishes are at 3* level, all ingredients locally sourced. Excellent service. Great wine list. We’ll worth the price!
Alvertos Revach — Google review
17 courses!!! It was almost a luxury problem to sit for 4 hours and enjoying all the exceptional dishes they served when we were there. The funny thing was the seafood/fish and vegetarian dishes were the ones that shone the most to us. The meat dishes were great but nothing compared to the silver onion, cabbage and the tarragon foam! That was simply great and the smoked langoustine definitely stole the show! We came in wearing sweaters, jeans and sneakers but most guests here were in black dresses and men in jackets, almost felt like they came from a funeral. I asked the one of servers and he said there was no dress code and the atmosphere should be relaxed, so fear not! No need to dress to your teeth to come here! (I’ve been to fine dining restaurants in Denmark and they are mostly casual) All in all, superb experience, well worth the expenses
