(Translated by Google) An experience absolutely not to be missed for mountain lovers, history buffs, for the curious in search of anecdotes and legends, for those who want to deepen their knowledge of Sardinia and spend an afternoon immersed in the nature of this wonderful land. You will find Giampaolo, a very passionate guide, as well as a teacher. His stories will overwhelm you and you will want to delve further. I found this excursion because my father is not a sea lover and walks with the aid of a stick: he even managed to do the approximately 200 meter trek. Alternatively he could have waited on the train. The departure is in the center of Baunei. We were based in Budoni, we spent 2 hours on the way there and 2 on the way back: we also had the opportunity to observe the mountain range. It was worth it! Very honest and advantageous prices also for families with children. You will enrich your holiday, you will learn new things and you will have a lot to tell! Lots of passion and good laughs too! Outdoor Activities
Cala Goloritzé is a white-sand beach and pinnacle in the Gulf of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. The stunningly beautiful beach can be accessed by hiking from the Altopiano del Golgo, or by boat from the nearby town of Solsona. It is one of the most popular beaches in Catalonia, and attracts climbers and hikers who enjoy some adventurous activities like climbing to see views from 148 meters atop The Aguglia rock needle.
Let’s talk turkey: You need to earn this fantastic view. The hike takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. But seriously it is definitely worth it. You will be rewarded with a fantastic beach with turquoise and clear water - a bit saltier though. The sand is white and beautiful. When we were there, we could see some jellyfish. So you better watch out. The trail winds through sun-drenched fields, rocky caves and shady groves where you can say hello to goats and wild boars. Take plenty of water with you, wear trekking shoes or at least sneakers and apply enough sunscreen.
Nathalie Reichmuth — Google review
First of all, EXTREMELY CROWDED BEACH. I visited at the end of september and there were still a lot of people. Better to visit in low season. You have to do a hike of 4km to get to the beach. Pretty easy to go down and up. 6 euros entrance fee. You have to book online (only 200 people per day). We saw a lot of donkeys, cows and goats which I loved! Water was not crystal clear, so, not so good for snorkeling. In general, very good beach and hike (despite having so many people), colors are true and the location is very virgin.
barbierikab — Google review
Beautiful beach, but small, way to crowded. Ticket online 6 euros per person. One hour to get there, around hour and a half on the way back. The road to drive a car to the starting point....not very enjoyable 😁
Marija Emshova — Google review
Nice place and a terrific hike down to the beach
Mirja Weber — Google review
Amazing beach! Clean and you can see the bottom very clearly. Better to reach this beach by the boat. We took the boat in Arbatax Port and reached Cala Goloritze in about an hour.
Maryna Yermolina — Google review
Absolutely lives up the hype. End of June and it was easy to reserve tickets day prior, so there should have been plenty of walk-up reservations as well the day of. Hike down took me about 45 minutes solo at a decent pace. Ascent back took just over an hour. You should be about 10-15 minutes back to the parking lot once you start to level out and descend again. The way down had reasonable amount of the trail was shade at 0830 due to tree and cliff blocking sun. On way back up at 1530 the sun was still high enough to take away a lot of the shade on the trail. Hiking/rucking boots or at least stable trainers required since most of the trail is rock scramble or loose sharp rocks. I wore light running shoes since they dry quickly and the treads and foam soles got chewed up. Beach begins to properly fill up by around 1030. Many of the shaded spots under the cliff overhangs are taken first. Since it seems visitors were well below the 250 limit it didn't feel too crowded, but at capacity plus any of the boat visitors swimming to shore it could be quite crowded. I took 2.5Ls and between hiking quickly and swimming a lot there, it was not enough. 2L minimum, 3L if you can carry. The restaurant at the parking lot is decently priced.
Simon E — Google review
It’s the most amazing beach I have ever been. The path is quite hard and you spend around 1 hour to get there. But it deserves. The ticket is 6 euros and I would recommend to book the entrance, wear sneakers and a big bottle of water. You will not regret! Enjoy it 😊
Oscar Palomares — Google review
As many reviews say be ready for the walk/hike. It's 3.6kms each way with approximately 500m of climbing, it's more difficult on the way back. Cost is €6 and parking is free. Shoes are a must, the path is easy to follow but the terrain is harsh. Take plenty of water especially if you plan on staying at the beach for a while, there is literally no where to buy anything once at the beach. The beach itself is very busy, I went around 3pm (mostly for the hike) and the beach was full. Also word of warning the beach isn't always as calm as some photos might show, with a slight wind out at sea the waves can be very rough and wouldn't recommend for not confident swimmers. Highly recommended it overall, it's a real gem of Sardinia and one that many will not be able to say they have been to!

Spectacular place. You can arrive from the ground with a 1.30h hiking or by water.
Pietro Splatters — Google review
Amazing beach, impressive turquoise water, fantastic surronding The best thing is that boats can not reach the beach. It is a paradise with a tribute to pay - 1 hour + hiking to go there and 1.5 hours to go back .. but it is absolutely worth the effort
Marco Francesco — Google review
This was the most wonderful beach and full of marine life. Be prepared for around 1hr to 1.5hrs hike from the parking area to the place. Take with you water in the hot summer days and a small backpack. The beach itself is very small and limited people are allowed to come, however it can still be crowded, but is worth it.
Mihaela Valentina — Google review
Beautiful, but the way back up is a challenge. Make sure to have good shoes, and preferably some walking sticks. Water and sugar is a need for the hike back up. It is more difficult than the hike to goropu, but a bit shorter with less general elevation but however a bit more technical (as in more rocky and natural walk). Worth the effort, the beach is wonderful!
Jolanda Saxfors — Google review
One of my favorite Beaches, wonderful place and walk for 1h and height difference ca.500m but its costs €6, you ... for what?
Müller Michael — Google review
We hiked to the beach during low sunny season in April. What I understand this makes totally different experience! The way to parking area is the most difficult if traveling by car: Long curvy mountain road. Once arrived to parking friendly hosts at till advise you to take a lot of water and snacks; in April we did not need a lot to drink; though in summer this could be a necessity. Also we did not book in advance, which would be quite opportunistic in high season. Water and food could be purchased at restaurant which is located directly at parking area. The hiking route is not difficult though at least trainers is a must. My daughter which is 8 year old coped with 1.5 hours trip quite easily. The trail is very picturesque. But the most beautiful is certainly beach and its light blue water. In April it was not crowded and there were only 3 boats. There was no dining place at the beach and it closes at 4 pm. On the way back (it felt much easier, though most of the way it was elevation) we ended up at restaurant (where we parked). It has good choice of Italian salads and beverages. Despite price it has good shadowed outside area with tables and benches; good closing point of the trip!

Very nice beach , but sadly mass tourism - if you got a chance , come as early as you can and leave latest 12.00 .
ErichKae95 — Google review
The most amazing rock formation gives this Cala a special vibe. Though you can’t be reach the beach by big boats you can park in front of it and have a swim right in the middle of the ocean which is what we did while getting to enjoy the fish and the pure cristal water. All shades of blue.
Florencia Soruco — Google review
We absolutely loved the hike! Especially the way there. We are not hikers yet we were able to do the way there in 50min and the way back in 1h10! Getting there is quite easy but the way back was really hard. You must book in advance as the places are limited, nevertheless the beach is extremely busy and it's almost impossible to find a nice spot in the sun on the beach. The beach is quite small but the sea is absolutely fantastic. We were scared that it might be too sunny but actually most of the beach was in the shade by 12pm. Highly reccomend bringing water and food (as there is no bar on or near the beach) and insect repellent as it is FULL of wasps. The water is absolutely fantastic and crystal clear but there are some biting fishes next to the shore
Michela Borra — Google review
Beautiful place in Sardegna! It's one of the beautiful beach in Sardegna. Useful Informations: You will reach the place from Su Porteddu. It's a hiking path from Su Porteddu to Cala Goloritze. You must take hiking/sport shoes and sport clothes. Because it has a lot of different type of stones and the path could be neat. Please take with you a beach umbrella. The beach isn't fully with sand. Most of them are with stone - up and downs. You must do a reservation on the app Heart of Sardinia to get access to the beach, otherwise you can't. Please go there in the morning , because you can accesss the beach till 15:00.. when you arrive at 16:00 they won't let you go to the beach, because they close at 17:00! The hiking back to the parking is very hard in the sun. Is really hard.. I'm hiker and it is to hot to hike up. Please take each person 2 liter water with you! Negative Points: You have to pay 6.00€ to walk to the beach Cala Goloritze. The path isn't clean or prepared to walk.. for 6.00 for each person they could prepare the path. You won't have a reservated place at the beach you have to find a place and it hasn't a lot! At the Beach they don't have water or a small Kiosk to buy water or something. To the restaurant Su Porteddu there is always a donkey. I don't know why a donkey is there.. it is whole day there.. in this hot wheater.. i'm feeling bad. Good points: Very nice beach Must see Restaurant at Su Porteddu

Cala Luna is a small, secluded beach located near Cala Gonone on the Gulf of Orosei. With turquoise waters and caves nearby, this beach is perfect for families and adventure-seekers alike. The Grotto del Bue Marino is also within close proximity and boasts stunning underground features such as stalactites, stalagmites, an underground beach, and Neolithic carvings.
Between Barbagia and Ogliastra, in the centre of the eastern coast of the Island, you will find one of Sardinia's most symbolic beaches, because of its wild appearance and unspoilt beauty
Mahmoud Habeeb — Google review
Pros:The caves are nice and good for photography, they provide a cool place and protect you from the sun. Water is crystal clear. Cons: the beach has lots of stones, not walking friendly. Actually the beach is not good at all. There is NO toilet, nearby bush along the hiking route is the only place for “toilet”.
Fangyuan Cheng — Google review
One of the most visited caves of this island worth a visit for sure( if you are crazy you can go there on foot or hiking) , if you aren't just rent a boat of take the tourist boat for Cala gonore. Whichever way you choose, do it early in the morning. Obviously we choose to came there by sea and it worth every penny. Rent a boat because there are other caves worth visiting in the aeria.
Marios — Google review
But connections to Cala Luna beach were not clear on Google maps. Tried driving in all directions and was wasting some time in the morning. By noon when I came to the port asked if they have a boat ride (since April off season missed boat rides in the entire Sardinia). And fortunately got a boat ride from Porto di Cala Gonone to Cala Luna beach ⛱️ + Lovely picturesque place + Boat ride cost (22 for adults and 15 for kids) + Boat ride was 12 mins ( but stopped at intermediate stop at a cave) if visiting this cave need to take another ticket + Boat ride to Cala Luna was thrilling as it was like a speed boat + Park near to the aquarium in a blue parking lot with tickets if combining with aquarium or close to port there are several blue parking - No clear signs from road while driving from Tortoli. Found Cala Luna and finally went into a trekking spot where no more Cala Luna signs. Routing to something trekking route - Water was cold in Apr (as expected)
Anita M — Google review
Another stunning bay you must visit! Caves and eroded coast give this place its uniqueness. There is also a stones beach for more relaxed stay. On the rocks formation there are also some climbing routes.
Giulio Aprin — Google review
Most beautiful beach in Europe, is not sendy beaches but small white rocks, access easy by boat or hiking during around 2 hours, grottes inside is accessible.
Mc Amen — Google review
It is a real treasure of the nature. Having said that, the water is of fantastic colour but not as clear as in other places. The beautiful white sandy beach transforms in big moving stones in the water. It's incredible to stay on the beach with the caves, but to get to that part is not easy over the huge rocks. You need to be fit. Plus bear in mind that if the sea might be slightly rough they will cancel your visit or get you back early as there might be difficulties of picking up passengers from the beach.
????? ????? — Google review
Would be beautiful if there weren't so many people. Boats are arriving full with people nearly every 30 minutes all Day. The shade of the caves is great if you are traveling with children
dossy daisy — Google review
Beautiful place worth a visit. Come in June when the crowds are manageable. TIP: if you want that stunning photo, hike there (2 hours each way) and be there after all the boats have returned (17:30) and you will have the beach almost to yourself and a few more enthusiasts like you. The hike back with the sunset is spectacular.
Tom V — Google review
Such a beautiful place to visit with the boat. A bit crowded for it is worth it
Alberto Gullo — Google review
Stunning and amazing place… the best way to get there is by boat. Orherwise you have to make a long trekking under the heat.
Kamil Rozenkiewicz — Google review
One of the best beaches in that area, very clean and clear water. The area remains pristine since it is difficult to visit and the roads are far away for motor transportation, reachable only by boat or by walking. Worth visiting if you want to enjoy swimming. A lot of caves are visible on the beach.
Abd Elhamid Elsayed Halayeb — Google review
Disclaimer: visited this beach in August, fully within high season. If it wasn’t for the large groups of people arriving/departing by ferry every 15 min, roaming up and down the beach, this would be one of the most beautiful spots in the island! Absolutely amazing but overcrowded. There should definitely be a cap of tourists per day.
António Barrias — Google review
It’s a nice beach, but gets crowded very early. The grottos are interesting but not deep. Lots of birds flying in and out constantly. When snorkelling, there really isn’t anything to see. Just sand and rounded rocks. All in all, I think it’s overrated, and hardly worth the 88 Euros it costs a family of four
Fredrik Stahre — Google review
Nice hike. I would recommend this hike in October or November when is not hot and not crowded
Mitja Rozman — Google review
Although, this place was epic in terms of the huge caves. In my opinion its not worth the money, unless you hike there. As there are many other beaches as good, not requiring the cost of travel. My main problem with this beach is the huge number of tourists who ho here, the beach ends up being full to the brim with people. However, the fish life here is quite cool, as I saw a skate while snorkeling.
Hugo Lessing — Google review
lovely beach, easily reachable by boat from cala gonone. However due to this it gets fuller on the closer end where the boats dock. walk along the beach further and u will find more caves that are almost empty. water is rougher as the day progresses. be sure to pack everything u might need qs there are no facilities there.

Fantastic service, we had a pretty spacious room, breakfast offered many options, the view was stupendous, and the location was the best part — we explored the neighbouring sites by car and boat.

We have travelled to many countries and Mario was one of the most helpful and best host one could ask for. Made our holiday so much easier with recommendations and tip on to go and to do’s. Beautiful little village with breathtaking surrounding valleys and mountains. Just next to Pedro Longa - a beautiful spot to snorkel and swim. Very lucky to have spent our 5 nights here. Would definitely recommend to any travellers.

We had the perfect holiday here and can't wait to come back. The apartment was very clean and very well fitted out. The views from the balcony were stunning. Loved our visit to baunei, a traditional village with some great little bars and close access to the best beaches in sardinia.

MeC Puddu's, an Italian eatery with origins as a "Sardinian fast food," has undergone a transformation into a "SlowFast Food" establishment while preserving its traditional essence. Located in Ogliastra, renowned for its culinary expertise in Sardinia, this restaurant offers locally sourced ingredients. The diverse mixed entree features regional salami and cheese, fava beans, and distinct Sardinian cheeses like craccu and frue.
Lovely food. Great service. Highly recommend the goat stew. The zucchini flowers was lovely.

To be honest, based on reviews, I expected a lot. But the food was from average to really bad. The Culurgiones primi was the only one thing we really liked. Then the pasta was really average and the beef steak I got was almost unable to be chewed and I almosed choked on one piece because I was not able to process it. It was really undercooked but even then the steak meat should normally be tender. The service did not care much about us, in the end we waited like 30 minutes to ask for coffee. Really bad experience.

Food was avarage. The goat stew had mostly bones and almost no meat. The fregola was not interesting and not that good.
Shani Beracha — Google review
Nice restoraunt but service is a little slow, no one would approach so we had to call the waiter, but after that it was all good. They accomodated us for a last minute change to a pizza to be takeout, so that was really nice.

This restaurant offers the opportunity to taste several local delicacies, from goat steak to the famous Culurgiones. The staff are nice and kind, and the atmosphere fits any kind of occasion. I'd strongly suggest trying the Culurgiones degustation and the "Gorropu" beer. The beef steak was also delicious!

We are from Canada, more specifically from the province of Alberta which prides itself on some of the worlds best beef and Burgers! I would not normally order a burger, especially in a place like Sardinia, but our neighbour table ordered the Su Puddu King and it looked so good I ordered one! This was hands down one of the biggest and best tasting burgers I have ever had! EVER!!!!….. or anywhere!!! This burger literally puts most North American burgers to shame!!!……. the desert ravioli was also amazing!!! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Well cooked food. Needed to fight to get attention from staff to get hold of a pepper mill...

Great choice of delicious starters, pizzas and desserts - also good for vegetarians. The traditional meals are all meat-based though. Service can be a bit slow when both terraces are filled. Great place, don't let yourself get fooled by the rather ugly sign outside ;)

Seriously best restaurant in town! I really recommend to go there when you are around! Service was excellent, location is clean and Food was stunning. We were already in other restaurant close by but non of them was that good. It was a fantastic evening. I really recommend the pasta. Seriously doesn’t matter which one you choose, all of them are great. If you can’t decide (like me) take the Piattro Degustazione and you can try them all. Pizza was good as well! If you like desserts, don’t miss out on the Orrobioloso! It’s magnificent! On top, it’s a really good value!

The food was pretty average (at best). I don’t understand how they get so many positive reviews and so many clients.

Born as a "Sardinian fast food" had a bit of evolution. Wanted to get there in 8 years and finally made it. Now it is became a "SlowFast Food" meaning that had kept the old style in the heart. Everything is local and Ogliastra is renown for being the culinary excellence of Sardinia. The mixed entrée was very nice with local salami and cheese, fava beans and some typical Sardinian cheese (like craccu and frue). The first course were "curulgiones", a Sardinian type of ravioli handmade and with different sauces on top. It became one of my favourite. Highly reccomended.

Ristorante Golgo is a hidden gem located in the Sardinian wilderness near Baunei. The restaurant offers traditional Sardinian mountain food, including dishes like wild boar stew, dumplings with goat, and broad beans with mint and Parmesan. With its stunning views over the hills of Baunei, this restaurant provides a perfect setting to enjoy local cuisine that is meat-oriented.
Amazing restaurant with a nice view over the hills of Baunei. Big variety of local cuisine meat orientated. They are famous for the goat and pork roast even though we were more amazed by the first pasta dishes.

Nice place with good Sardinian food. I recommend to go there earlier ca at 17:00 so that you can explore the surrounded area. In our case (August) the restaurant openend at 19:30 but the Bar was everytime open.

Can’t recommend enough. Even though this restaurant is quite far off the beaten track I’m so pleased we didn’t turn around. It was a fabulous place to go. Food was traditional Sardinian mountain food. Just what we was looking for and is not as easy to find as we thought. We had wild boar stew, dumplings with goat and broad beans with mint and Parmesan. Delicious. Service was quick and friendly and the donkeys, goats and a very lovable dog made it a great place for our young daughter to be amused while us grown ups relaxed

Beautiful location but that's all. Both different dishes of meat were way overcooked and tasteless. "Mixed salad" was green leaves tomato and cucumber. Wine was warm, so we kindly asked for an ice bucket pot to place to bottle inside and they brought ice to put in the glass (?) and then we asked again and they said wine should not be cooled down (?!). And on top as from the beginning staff was rude, not smiling at all either. They came to with the broom to clean around the table during dinner and asked us to stand up (?!) (it was around 21:30 there were still lots of other guests) like seriously?

5 stars are not enough!! Amazing place located in a magic area of Baunei, Golgo. We received a great welcome from Gianluca, the owner, professional and friendly. We were able to see the view from our table and enjoy our food drinking a really tasty wine. Details are curated to let you feel at home. If you want to eat a traditional meal this is the perfect place. Couldn't ask more! Brigida.

I recently had a wonderful dining experience at Tomà Ristorante. Despite not having a reservation, the staff managed to find me a table for drinks before arranging one for dinner shortly after. The food was exceptional and the service was top-notch. The upstairs views were breathtaking and the overall atmosphere was delightful. The dishes were served promptly, made with fresh ingredients, and reasonably priced for their generous portions. I highly recommend this restaurant, as it offers delicious cuisine coupled with beautiful balcony views.
We had an amazing meal at Tomà! we didn’t have a booking and they were completely booked but found us a table for a drink and shortly after arranged a table for dinner! The food was amazing and the service was too. The views upstairs were divine and the atmosphere was aswell! The food came out fast and the ingredients were fresh and very well priced for the serving size! Highly recommend.

Toma Restaurant is a seafood restaurant located in the marina of Santa Maria Navarrese, a small town on the eastern coast. It is overlooking the marina and the terrace offers a great view. I recently had the opportunity to dine at Toma Restaurant, and I was not convinced by the ordered dishes . I started my meal with the spaghetti alle vongole, which was perfectly cooked and had a generous amount of fresh clams. For my main course, I had the grilled sea bass, which was moist and flaky, and came with a delicious lemon sauce. I finished my meal with the tiramisu, which was light and creamy. The service at Toma Restaurant was nice. Our waiter was helpful to change table from the terrace to inside. Unfortunately, strong winds prevented us to sit outside and have a decent dinner. Overall, I had a medium experience at Toma Restaurant. The food was lacking punch and it gave us the feeling of many frozen products. Compared to other restaurants we have been it was not convincing.. The service was nice. . I would recommend this restaurant to people visiting Santa Maria Navarrese and want to have a beautiful view and spend a romantic evening. Here are some tips for your visit to Toma Restaurant: Book your reservation in advance, especially during peak season. Ask your waiter for their recommendations, as they know the menu well and can help you choose the best dishes. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Gulf of Orosei while you dine.

Great tasting food with great views from the balcony. The prices are reasonable considering the great view and location. The octopus salad in particular was perfect, best I've ever had. The gilthead bream was also very nice and well made Also loved the African theme they had going on

Worst meal I have ever had in Sardinia and a very disappointing experience. Pistachio covered prawns were served raw but were supposed to be cooked. They were returned to me cooked but on the same plate. They were supposed to be with strawberries but were served with melon and raw apple. The pistachio was heavy and soggy. The grilled prawn was flowery/mushy and inedible and the grilled vegetables were mushy and unseasoned. The grilled fish was over cooked. None of the wines we chose were available and so we were recommended one that was €18 more expensive. A warning about the access - very steep stairs and no lighting between the building and exit onto the road - fortunately had my iPhone torch to see. Overall incredibly expensive and poor quality food. By comparison we had grilled prawns (6 large ones) at the cafe on the beach for €14 and they were delicious.

Friendly service but oh my the food was less than average for the price we paid. I was served with warmish fish and vegetables, that were not even seasoned. SO says his pasta was ‘average’. One glass of wine was oddly measured against the one that followed later. Plus I think my local London pub serves higher quality. The atmosphere was okay ish. Great views accompanied by mildly sickening smooth jazz. But again, the service was super friendly.
