Water
The Gulf of Orosei, located in central-eastern Sardinia, is a stunning destination surrounded by rugged cliffs and renowned for its pristine white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. One of its main attractions is the Bue Marino Caves, featuring mesmerizing stalactites and stalagmites that create captivating reflections in the water.
Incredible place!! You must rent a boat and explore the gulf of Orosei. It worth every euro spent! There are several boat rental shops on the gulf. If you want to have a better price reach them in advance but you also have the option to rent it at the day if it's not sold out. Arrive early at the place if you haven't booked early. To enjoy the experience the most arrive at the gulf maximum at 10 a.m if you are already booked.

Excellent destination! If you embark on the Davide e Goliat boat, you won't regret it! The trip was fantastic, and the crew, along with Captain Davide, created a wonderful atmosphere. It truly is an all-day experience worth savoring.

Nature & Parks
The Grotta del Bue Marino, a 5km marine cave accessible by boat from Cala Gonone, is a stunning natural wonder boasting colorful stalactites and stalagmites as well as Neolithic wall carvings. The subterranean lake within the cave is fed by freshwater streams and was once frequented by monk seals who used it for breeding.
Very unique experience. Attended with my family (wife and 8y kid) in April. It was not crowded at all. Highlights: - have been to different caves at Slovenia and north Italy but never experienced the cave where sea water goes so deep - balance in timing and guide tutorial; guide had 10y experience and wisely left time for us to enjoy different chambers - tour is around 55 minutes which is perfectly managed timing Downside: to get to a cave you need to pay 20 euros per adult and only 10 euros for cave entrance; it seems to be fair if fees would be swapped:) PS daughter was quite involved and at the end dared to ask question to guide:)

The most amazing cave I've ever seen. A must see!
Stefan Rogin — Google review
very nice place worth seeing the caves and the surrounding area
Pawel Szwed — Google review
Nice cave, especially on a hot or rainy day. The boat ride from Gala Gonone is not too long at 15-20 minutes and the length of the visit inside the cave is perfect at 1 hour. It's a 1 km walk from the jetty to the end of the cave, but you can turn around at any point when you've had enough and walk back to the jetty by yourself. Some of the return boats first continue to Cala Luna before returning to Cala Gonone. This adds an extra 15-20 minutes to the return ride, but it's nice to see this very popular beach.
Chris Jetten — Google review
Incredible place. Easy walk. Good guided tour. Fresh, but not cold. Very good light allows to make good quality fotos without any flash which is forbidden. English is as good and precise as Italian.
Nelli Margolit — Google review
Note that you have to pay for the boat transportation to the cave and the cave itself. The total price (cave and boat) for 2 adults and 2 children is about 90 eur. Otherwise it is a very nice cave, especially to see what salt and normal water can do. Highly recommended.

Visiting the cave was a real wonderful experience. We took the boat from Cala Gonone which brought us to a pier built-in at the entrance to the cave. The visit took 1 hour and after we continued south, to the other beaches from Golfo di Orosei. There are three rivers that form the huge hidrological system of the cave: the South, the North and the central river system. The turistic trail is 1 km long on the south river. On the end of the tour you can see the place where the river actualy flow in to the șea. It is another entrance accesible by foot from the Cala Fuili - Cala Luna path, which get in to the North river system. The systems are conected throgh several siphons (underwater galleries). Unfortunately, the entrance in the North river system is closed for the moment because the company that manage the cave didn' found a gardian willling to cover the 45 min distance by foot x 2 each day.
Radu Savin — Google review
€20 for the boat there, then €10 for the entry. I would say, well worth your money and time. 😏🤌
Ferenc File — Google review
Great place to visit. Tour takes around 1 hour and you walk 2 km. You have to buy tickets in advance in marina for €10 plus you have to take a ferry for additional fee.
Peska — Google review
Boat prices aren't cheap. Ticket to the cave for 2 persons was 12 euros. Boot fair was 44 euros (2 adults, 1 child) for only a 10 minute trip. Caves were beautiful and guide was great!
Tieme Pool — Google review
Absolutely amazing horizontal cave. We bought our tickets (9 euros per person) in the port of Cala Gonone and took a small ferry for 13 euros per person to get to the cave. Just the view from the ferry was fantastic along the coast with its beaches and anses. We explore with a guide 1 km of the horizontal cave while there are 8 km explored so far in total in the south part of the cave. The north part of it, which is 9 km long, is not accessible in 2018 because of some work. The north part is accessible by foot only from Cala Fuili. Our guide was not fluent in English and was pretty difficult to understand, but I hand the chance to come back with another one from who I got some interesting answers. The visit was divided into two groups: English speaking and Italian speaking. Note that is possible to leave your belonging before you enter. No that pictures are not allowed in the cave mainly because the flash could damage the surface of the cave. Also pictures without flash from a decree of the county of Dorgali.

Outdoor Activities
Cala Fuili is a serene and tranquil pebble beach situated just 3 kilometers south of the coastal village of Cala Gonone. The beach is surrounded by rocky mountains, making it ideal for rock climbing and hiking enthusiasts. Visitors can also indulge in swimming in the clear waters of the cove. One can explore the stunning gulf on foot by taking a 7-kilometer coastal hike to Cala Luna beach via scenic mountain trails.
Beautiful beach near lots of climbing. Some questionable hardware store homemade bolts on some of the routes though.

Beach is beautiful, from this place you can take boat to other beaches No place for parking ( Long stairs down(

Stone beach. Beautiful and good place to rest. High rocks around for montain climbing (alpinist). On the ground is stones instead sand. Strong waves and big stones into the sea not for small kids.
Mateusz Twardowski — Google review
Beautiful small rock beach. In July it was not crowded. You can swim to the right from the beach to reach caves. Sand in the water on the beach rocks. There is not enough parking spaces, be careful to park behind the white street lines, the local police will write the fine reliably.
Stiskarna d.o.o. — Google review
Lovely pebbly beach at the end of the road. Good few steps down but we'll worth it.
Wojtek Piatek — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Be careful with the parking on the road, if your car is outside the white line, the police will fine you, if it is inside, it is OK. There are also TOITOI toilets at the end of the road. Some walking down is needed to reach the beach itself.

Beautiful beach. Unfortunately still too many stones. The water is awesome as its color. Not a big beach. The view is everything though. You’ll have mountains on the back and the see in the front

Really nice beach. Not the best to go with kids. Big stones beach. Hard to lay down. Carefull where you park, you will get a note.
Jordi Casamiquela — Google review
Wonderful beach, probably the best around. Easy access by car, or even by bus from Cala Gonone. A lot of parking space near by the road, and all free of charge. Needs a long walk from the parking lots, and a steep stair , but absolutely worth it. No toilet, no shower, no trash bin, but really a clean one, some spaces even with all day shade. Water is rocky & gravelly in one. Good place to snorkeling in the azurro water.
Marton Kurucz — Google review
cala fuili is a nice beach, you can go there by car or by feet. it's a stone beach with some alge, though the view is really beautiful. also arround there are a lot of rocks where you can go to climb. though it's a small beach and there are a lot of people, but the atmosphere was pretty chill
anna — Google review
Beautiful beach indeed, but with stones so do bring something comfortable to lay on and some sandals to go in to the water. The snorkelling is fantastic there, loads of caves & fish to explore & look at. In season, it's EXTREMELY crowded. Seriously, if you're not there before 10am there is no place to park & once you get down to the beach (165 steps down the mountain) it's packed. Be there before 9am (July & August) if you want to find a parking spot.
Jan — Google review
Nice beach. Bring umbrella and water shoes. It's hard to find the parking after 11 o'clock closer to the beach.
Ernestas Adzgauskas — Google review
The beach was breathtaking! Getting there implies taking some stairs so be prepared, but it’s a beautiful natural gem!
Aranza del Alcázar — Google review
Amazing beach with crystal emerald water. This beach is a must go, must see, must swim. Don’t miss it. The beach is located at the end of a canyon of old river. The beach is composed of small and big white rocks. This is why water shoes are welcome. Inside the water after a meter it is white sand. It is easier to get in the water from its left side (looking at the water) as there is more sand. You get to the beach by following the road up to its end where you park. I suggest you park soon as you see a free spot as it is very difficult to do a u-turn if you have not a small car. Then there are some steps to get down. The access is easy, but you need to be careful as the stones of the steps are very slippery. It’s is possible to fix your umbrella with big rocks.
Jean-Philippe Cyr — Google review
Wow. I would say this is the best (easily accessible) beach in the area. Short 10 minute walk from the car and your surrounded by what sardinia is known best for. Dramatic rock cliffs with crystal blue seas. Be sure to pack some lunch and plenty of water.

Nice for families with kids. If you are not really nearby it a waste of time to invest a drive there because the tour takes not more than 25min... Good escape on a hot day.
David naftalis — Google review
Very good aquarium for such a small town as cala gonone is. Wide variety of fish, with even a chameleon! With the best of course being the sea turtle.
Hugo Lessing — Google review
The aquarium is really really small. Although liked the idea of promoting recycling and also be aware of the plastic in general in terms of marine life
Mihaela Valentina — Google review
Some cool displays and touches, and encourages an ecological focus. Has a child friendly cafe. Not loads to see, would have liked more displays, but overall enjoyed it
Simon Chew — Google review
It's nice, well-kept with clean tanks. But it isn't large by any means. The entry price is higher than it should be relative to size of aquarium. Plenty of parking available in the proximity.
Toni Timar — Google review
We were looking for a nice activity to do with the kids, this acquarium did not disappoint. Regardless being small it was still a great experience. We loved the fact that they were very environmentally woke and there was a lot of education regarding the huge impact of plastic in the sea.
Katherina Revenga — Google review
It’s small but ok. It has the most important and known marine animals in my opinion, they also give you the information about each one.
Jacquelin Gtz — Google review
Small aquarium with some interesting species to see. A very good place for smaller children. Aside from the exhibitions it has a very well equipped play room and a playground. With a small scale of the exposition the price of 12 € seems a bit too much.

The expansive size of the Nuraghe Arvu village (with approximately 120 huts recorded by Taramelli in the 1920s), the nearby Nuraghe Favorita, and the settlements of Nuragheddu and Nuraghe Mannu exemplify a significant population density during the Bronze Age until Roman times along the eastern coast. Wonderful beach in a beautiful little Sardinian seaside town. We hired a car to get here from Olbia but we didn't need it as the town had such a relaxing vibe simply flitted between beach, pool, boat and restaurants all week. Don't miss the amazing "4 Mori" restaurant! This beach has a part allocated to the resort on the cliffs above but there is plenty of space for everyone else. The sea is idyllic lots of small fish around so bring a snorkel and some dried bread to have some fish feeding underwater fun. Kayak, pedalo, jetski hire also available on this beach and there is a bar tucked away at the end in the cliff.

Hotel located in the centre of the tourist area. In the harbour itself. Close to boats, yachts that offer interesting excursions to remote beaches, caves or diving. Rooms with mountain and sea views. Rooms clean, cleaned daily. Possibility to buy breakfast, quite tasty. Next to the hotel a restaurant offering sweet desserts as well as dinner dishes. Very good pasta and seafood. Prices reasonable. Well worth a stay.

the hotel is directly in front of the port. i just took a granite in the restaurant. the taste was really chemical, and the prices are too high, though for a touristic zone it's normal. the service was okay, though the waitresses were gossiping about everyone arround when they thought people couldn't understand the language and talking bad about the guests. this is a no-go.

Service personell tried to charge us 3x more than we actually spent. Good that we noticed, that it was not our order... No apologies, so felt pretty sketchy. Be careful when eating in this restaurant!
Jana Strogonova — Google review
Unpleasant dining and service. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Rude staff and unfriendly manager who supported his lairs lady waiter. We were charger 11€ for starters that we haven’t ordered. Warning: there are charging you as you set in the chair for 3 € and anything they are providing to you as a courtesy (without your request) will be charged on you. They are just after your money. Food was plain without any seasoning. If I can give ZERO then I will do, but I have to give one star for the sake of rating only. NEVER AGAIN
Lemo * — Google review
So we came to this restaurant today after a great trip to Cala Luna, we were seated and we waited. In the meantime other guests (4) arrived and were seated about 5 minutes later. They were given the menu earlier and so was the company's attention in the form of pastries or something like that. We didn't even get a menu. Obviously we choose our customers based on how much they spend, don't we ? We stood up and left. Work on your restaurant philosophy 😉

We stayed 11 days at this magical place. The location is perfect as you are directly at the harp and can drive to all bays. After a boat trip does not have to walk for a long time and can jump directly into the air-conditioned room. In the evening you have a wonderful view directly on the sea. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this hospitality. We enjoyed every second and will be back. Best regards Musa and Peggy.

Ristorante Pizzeria La Poltrona is highly regarded as one of the top dining establishments in Cala Gonone. It offers a diverse menu featuring both delectable seafood and meat dishes, as well as mouthwatering pizzas. The restaurant provides excellent value for money, with friendly and attentive staff providing exceptional service. Due to its popularity, it is recommended to make a reservation even if you are visiting with a small group.
I've been meaning to review this wince August when I visited. Ettore (the owner/manager) is an amazing guy who was very helpful with guidance on the local area. Furthermore, the food was great, will a lovely relaxed atmosphere here. There's a kids playground in the back, and a hammock in the front garden. This restaurant is in the edge of town, and we probably spent every other night of our stay here!

I enjoyed checking out Ristorante Pizzeria, but it absolutely screams tourist trap. It was amazing to see the sea lions (my favorite part of the excursion!), and there was a street performer putting on a good show inside the shopping area. Lots of the shops sell souvenirs, so be ready to buy something, see it two doors down for $1 less, and then have a small sense of disappointment.

Hotel Ispinigoli is a charming countryside establishment in Dorgali, offering simple yet comfortable accommodations and a delightful dining experience. Situated in a rural setting, this hillside hotel is conveniently located near popular attractions like the Ispinigoli Caves and the Dorgali Archaeological Museum. With 24 cozy guestrooms available, guests can feel right at home during their stay.
In summary: incredible! We are a couple with a 21-month-old baby who just spent a week at the hotel and ate at the restaurant 5 times. This week was a total success thanks to the incredible extended family of the Ispinigoli hotel/restaurant. Room: Comfortable beyond words, impeccable cleanliness, spacious bathroom, pleasant with all the necessary hooks and amenities, a terrace with a panoramic view that was a lifesaver for us to tire out our little one. Air conditioning and electrical outlets at each bedside table (important detail). The only minor drawback: the doors are wooden and not very soundproof. Our neighboring room might not have always appreciated our baby's difficult falling asleep. Hotel: The location is nestled among olive trees and other plantations with a breathtaking elevated view. The hotel appears to be new and beautifully maintained with a stunning view. While walking through the hotel (which is spacious!), we also discovered a gym (which we didn't use). It has been tastefully renovated and is modern. It is located next to the tourist attraction: the Ispinigoli cave. Breakfast: Diverse and excellent coffee made by Pietro. You'll find cold cuts, cheese, ricotta, yogurt, cereals, plenty of pastries, fresh fruits, and hard-boiled eggs. Restaurant: We are hearty eaters, and I am relatively picky. With the exception of one dish, all the appetizers/main courses/desserts were a success!!! I particularly mention the prawns (the best preparation I've ever had), fish gnocchi, crispy-skinned pork, grilled calamari, soft-boiled egg with pecorino, and donkey meat. One evening, we also had the €50 tasting menu, highly recommended! Furthermore, the prices are very reasonable (the most expensive dish being €20 and an appetizer at a maximum of €15). Dining with a 21-month-old baby is not easy, but thanks to their spacious terraces and wooden horse, we were able to keep our hyperactive baby busy and tired. Matteo is excellent at recommending dishes and wines (we are Franco/Anglophone). Staff: ADORABLE! We arrived with some concerns after reading some reviews that mentioned the staff as somewhat cold. For us, they were like a family we turned to for advice, chatted with, and who showed great patience with our baby. We even received a gift at the end of our stay, a gesture that touched us deeply and that we will cherish back in Belgium. Two families own this beautiful place and turn it into a paradise thanks to the amazing team that supports them. A special thank you to Matteo and Marie who helped us, advised us, and took care of us during this week.

One of the few restaurants in the area that opens for lunch service. Ate here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Food was excellent both times. You can taste how fresh the seafood in the pasta is. Pizza was done perfectly with a thin crust that never went soggy. I would eat everything again! Plus the resident cat is such a beauty.

I usually don’t go back to a restaurant on a holiday because I enjoy trying new things. But we ate here on a saturday in the end of april, we had spaghetti with mussels and penne with salmon, it was really lovely. But then the table next to us got a big serving of their seafood triumph spaghetti, and it looked so good, that we ended up coming back the day after. It was just as good as expected 😍 we enjoyed it a lot! The acustic inside is not great, I’d recommend sitting outside

Delicious food, friendly service, great location at a reasonable price. Would recommend.

Their seafood was great and well priced. Seemed fresh. But I gave four stars because the mixed seafood and the squids don't come with any sauces so can taste a bit plain. Also the pasta we ordered was a bit undercooked.

This place is understaffed. The waiters were overwhelmed with the number of tables. It took over 40 minutes for someone to take our order, only after having to wave someone over. There were other tables of Italians which appeared to be getting preferential service over tourists. While the service was poor, the pizza we had was delicious and overall the price was okay given the location.

Hearty and tasty meal, we had the fisherman’s market risotto (for 2). Friendly family service that made us feel welcomed with the cava and limoncello, we were in cala Gonone for 3nights and found this to be one of the better places to eat!

Ice cream shop
Gelateria Fancello is a popular gelato spot with a wide variety of flavors to choose from. While some find the gelato too sweet, others appreciate the fantastic selection and low prices. The shop is located on the seafront, offering a lovely setting to enjoy your treat while overlooking the beach and harbor of Cala Gonone in Sardinia, Italy. They also offer milk-free options like peach and mango flavors, as well as chocolate sorbet with less sugar.
Lovely little gelato shop on the seafront, which seating on the side of the small road overlooking the beach and harbour of Cala Gonone. Great selection of flavours and reasonable prices, would recommend.

The most delicious ice cream in the whole city. We ate several times each time a different flavour and each was incredibly good. Very large selection of flavours. Prices very low. You can't go past this place indifferently 👌🏽

Epic gelato! The best in Cala Gonone. Would recommend the snickers ice cream. It has swirls of chocolate, peanut butter, and peanuts in it.

The best gelateria in Cala Gonone, the quality of their ice cream is second to none. Snickers and pistachio flavours in particular are highly recommended. If I could give 10 stars I would!

This is definitely a heaven place for all age whether young or old. Fantastic ice cream parlour with lots of flavours to choose from. Although I think the best two flavours that I would go for are the pistachio and kinder bueno flavours. Absolutely flavourful and would come a few times for this! 😋 perfect to come on a nice sunny day facing the beautiful beaches of Sardinia Italy.

We stopped here after one day ship trip and we expected something special from gelaterie with such good rating. But I have to say that we eated better ice cream. Therefore I gave only four stars.

Great choice of flavors, including vegan or lactose free flavors. Friendly staff. Few seats across the street with a sea view. Great place for a stop on the way to or from the beach.

Great selection of ice cream. There's benches to sit and enjoy your ice cream with the sea view 😋

The best ice cream shop in Cala Gonone, you are always greeted with a smile. Wide variety of flavors, some even without milk. Often crowded, it is worth waiting for the quality of the ice cream.

Excellent, delicious ice cream! Lot of flavors in the offer (tiramisu 🥰), large portions and you can eat in front of the beautiful sea view. Very friendly service. I recommend it!

Best gelato in Gala Gonone. We visited many times.

Very tasty gelato. I have to say that it is not the best gelato I haver tasted (and I had my fair share), but it was nice nonetheless. There was a queue at 11pm and it was very crowded. I enjoyed the kindness of the staff and they have a great selection of gelati and sorbetti. However, I went with 6 friends and I tried all their gelatos, and most of them did seem too sweet. They might be authentic but they do seem to make their gelati very sweet which lets the natural flavour down.

Great selection of milk free ice cream. Peach and mango were excellent. I recommend their chocolate sorbet as well. Not too much sugar in it which was really appreciated. Great value as well: as of July 2023, 3€ for two flavors.
