Island
Nature & Parks
Jōgashima is a picturesque island located at the southern tip of Miura Peninsula, easily accessible from Yokohama. The island features an old Western-style lighthouse, restaurants, and stunning views of Mount Fuji. Visitors can explore Jōgashima Park to enjoy panoramic vistas of the Pacific Ocean and observe pine trees and seaside plants shaped by strong winds. One of the highlights is Umanosedoumon, a renowned rock formation on the island.
Beautiful spot on the tip of Miura Peninsula. Due to it being relatively difficult to access, it’s not very well known by international tourists, and has a very local relaxed vibe. The island feels more akin to Okinawa than to being just south of Tokyo. Blue sea, beautiful rock formations, lush greenery. If you’re looking for a nice day trip, this is a must.

Jogashima is for everyone who want to escape the busy Tokyo even if just for a day. The smell of ocean in the air is all encompassing. The perfect place to reset.

Went last Saturday. It was sunny day and view was satisfying. Worthy day trip.

Jogashima Island is on the south part of Miura port. Small boats run between Miura port and Jogashima Island everyday. The trip is only 5 minutes. In the island, watch out the kite birds, they are always watching your food. From the island, you can see the Pacific Ocean and the rock beach. If you are lucky, Mt Fuji and Boso peninsular can be seen. The view from Glider Square (Glider Hiroba) is the best.

Great place for a day tour! Went hiking and the view from the observatory deck was great (too bad it was cloudy when we went) We hiked using the way on the beach side, great views but too many creepy insects on the rocks. 🤢 Not sure what they were but they looked like cockroaches..

Nagai Uminote Park Soleil Hill is a beloved destination for tourists and locals. It boasts a vast seaside area featuring vibrant flowerbeds, a charming boat pond, engaging playgrounds, and an endearing petting zoo. Additionally, the park offers the excitement of a Ferris wheel ride.
This is an amazing park for sunflower! Looks like it is opens only for summer but must to visit here! There are huge amount pf flowers around the park!!! Basically it is free to enter just need to pay for parking. There are some food places. If you have small kids, never get bored for them!!! Good place to enjoy slow and relax for family!! Enjoy!!

Big park with varieties of options to enjoy, specially for kids. Dirty lavatories, no washlet or bidet. Parking 🅿️ 1000 yen for regular 🚗.

Lovely beautiful landscape at the “Soreiyu-no-Oka” (Le Soleil). Amazing outlook seeing beautiful Mt. Fuji over the field mustard garden at sundown in Miura point, Kanagawa.

Parking is free for U.S. military! Family-friendly sunflower field with beautiful views. My family went during sunflower season. In addition to sunflower viewing, there are lots of activities that will keep you and your kids entertained. There is a pirate ship playground with different sized slides, trampolines, a grass slide, and even a ferris wheel. We arrived a bit late, so I recommend going early in order to experience every activity. There were always restrooms and refreshment areas to cool off. My family and I loved the shaved ice with soft serve! We will come again!

As a foreigner with young kids … you can’t beat this place! Free entry, large playgrounds, water park & picnic areas … BBQ spots … pay for petting zoos … basic rides … amusement rides and enjoy the gardens & views. Access to the shoreline with tide pools and beaches …. Food vendors (very busy) and paid parking lots … 20 minutes from Yokosuka.

Beautiful place! Free entry and many flower gardens. The only thing is the sunflowers all died super early in the year and they forced us to wear those idiotic pointless face diapers. Other then that, highly recommend. Lots to do. They even have animals at a petting zoo.
Rebekah Perry — Google review
Nice daytrip from Tokyo. We were lucky with the weather and had great views of Mt Fuji and a good time on the beach. We would love to try camping there some time. Take their warnings about the birds seriously and eat under cover if you can!
Daniel Dulay — Google review
Loads of fun and especially so for families with young kids. Parking is convenient but felt expensive for being at a place that is so far off the main path. Two of the highlights are the main Zipline and the kiddie Zipline. The main Zipline costs per trip while kiddie Zipline is free. The kiddie Zipline is one of the best Zipline setups that I've seen for kids at any park in Japan. There is a mound covered by a rubberized substance that kids can easily climb while holding the rope. This mound allows them to easily jump on the rope and their feet are well off the ground for the trip. The rope is attached to a track above in a manner that is similar to a hanging rollercoaster. The course is an oval shape so the rope comes back to the start for each new rider. The park suffers from a lack of shade so hot days are very hot. Sekiguchi farm has an ice cream stand on the back side of the main entrance. I recommend getting the ice cream in a cup for young eaters on hot days since they are likely to have their ice cream fall to the ground. Another highlight is being able to pick some vegetables. The vegetable picking is a guided tour and you can keep what you pick but are limited to how much you can pick. Of course, if you just want the vegetables, they are cheaper in the store at the entrance. The picking tours require you to buy tickets in advance but you only need one ticket for a whole family to join the fun. Tours are only at certain times and only 2 or 3 tours per day. Tours are stopped when there is nothing to pick.
David U — Google review
I think we were the only gaijin in the place. There is nothing like this in the States. As you come in, you can pay to cut wildflowers. Then you pitch your tent on some open grass. On thing you notice is that there is virtually no litter on the ground. None. If this were in America, there would be a mess. Lines were long on a May Sunday afternoon, but our 8- and 10-year olds had a blast, especially on the grass hill sledding. Admission is free, but you get nickled and dimed on the individual attractions. Pack a lunch (food is a little dear). Bring lots of yen!

Also, many trains on the Keikyu Main Line use this station as their final stop, so it has a strong image of being the last stop on the Keikyu Line. The station structure is a two-sided, two-track platform with a dead end. The track at the end passes through the national highway and continues for a while, but this is a remnant from the days when there was a plan to extend it from Aburatsubo to Misaki Port. In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of visitors using the Misaki Maguro Ticket, which serves as the gateway to Misaki Port, but it is also the hub of bus transportation in Miura City, where many buses depart and arrive not only for Misaki Port but also for Jogashima, Aburatsubo, Nagai, and Yokosuka. The Miura open top bus also starts from here. Every year, in the early morning hours of New Year's Day, a special bus to Jogashima departs from this station, running in conjunction with the Keikyu Line limited express train on the first day of the year for worshipers who wish to watch the first sunrise of the year. *The first issue will not be operated in 2022 and 2023. Conveyor belt sushi restaurant
Sushi restaurant
Kaisen is a sushi restaurant that offers a variety of nigiri-style tuna, mackerel, and shrimp sushi on a conveyor belt, along with meal sets and rolls. The establishment has implemented thorough COVID-19 safety measures. It's conveniently located within walking distance from the train station and provides nearby parking options. The menu includes an English version for non-Japanese speakers. Customers can enjoy deals on chu and otoro cuts of tuna.
Amazingly fresh, quick, friendly, great prices, and a short walk from where I'm staying. It was not crowded at all, but then again, it's Covid times. The breaded tuna fish was delicious, and the horseradish sauce is extra fresh and has that great spiciness, without the sting. Highly recommended!

Good sushi restaurant. I can’t say it’s the best. Food was served in a timely manner. You are limited to dine in an hour due to corona. Alcohol is served. There’s free tea and ginger. Toilet was clean. A little bit pricey for me considering it was a local area. Oh and the sushi chefs looked younger than your typical sushi restaurants or any Japanese restaurants (just noticed).

It was an ok sushi place. The best recommendation I can give is get the maguro plate. It has all the best stuff. The other stuff is a bit of a mixed bag but the maguro ones are good. The soup I ordered didnt have a strong of a taste as I expected. It was ok I guess

We went for tuna because it is supposed to be good down in this area. Kaisen was apparently featured on a TV show, so it gets regular visitors due to recognition. Overall it was fine. Sushi was good and relatively inexpensive. Apparently people come to this area to pick oranges and visit the beach. It would have been nicer if the weather was a bit warmer but we could see the appeal.

A great sushi place that has taken every precaution regarding COVID-19 protection. The fish selection is great, English menu available, the sushi comes quick, and the service was solid. Seafood restaurant
On April 13, 2018, a group of friends visited the seafood restaurant 鮮味楽 using the "KEIKYU Misaki Maguro Pass". Despite arriving near closing time, they were warmly welcomed by the accommodating staff. The manager, who may also be the owner, engaged in friendly conversation with them and displayed exceptional hospitality. The food that arrived was served in generous portions and consisted of incredibly fresh Maguro (tuna).
Here is I think one of popular Sushi & MAGURO restaurant in MISAKI area now. Located in just next to URARI-Marche, so quite easy to access from the center of MISAKI harbor. I ordered “Medium Toro Bowl”and my colleague ordered “MAGURO Bowl”. Medium Toro is really yummy and best- matched with vinegared rice. MAGURO Bowl includes many kind of different part/ style of Tuna and my colleague said all of these are tasty and satisfied enough! Price settings are a little bit high overall but worth to come, I think.(Note: only cash is acceptable)

Tastes pretty good, but a bit too pricey. Though you may be able to find better restaurants in Tokyo, it’s totally ok to visit this while you’re traveling around this area. Note that it’s likely to be crowded to some extent especially in weekends, and staffs are friendly “in a sense” - it’s not necessarily comfortable for everyone.

Absolutely lovely! Came here with several friends toward closing time to use our Misaki Maguro Ticket. The staff was very polite and chatted with us in Japanese, while we waited for our food, then explained the different kinds of tuna in English and Japanese. The food was also delicious, a great sampler of tuna with just the right amount of rice. This is my new go-to when visiting the Jogashima area!

My friends and I were here on 13 April 2018 using the "KEIKYU Misaki Maguro Pass". As we were approaching the store, we asked if they could still accept us n they graciously welcomed us despite that they were closing for the day. While waiting for the food to arrive, the friendly manager (maybe owner) came over to chat with us. She was really hospitable. When e food arrive, e portion looks very generous. Maguro was REALLY fresh. It was SO GOOD. Best part of the evening was as we were finishing our dinner, we were given free ice cream! For being their last customers of the day. It was really a pleasant surprise! Do consider using the KEIKYU Misaki Maguro Pass's meal ticket @ 鮮味楽 (Sen Mi Raku) if you are visiting Misaki with the train pass.

Seafood restaurant
Misaki Seafood Local Wholesale Market Cafeteria, also known as Misaki Cafeteria, is a quaint eatery situated by the waterfront. This simple cafeteria offers an array of delectable dishes made from freshly caught tuna and crab meat. Their menu includes a variety of options such as sushi, sashimi, soups infused with crab meat, and even fried plates. The quality and taste of their sashimi are particularly outstanding – a real treat for seafood enthusiasts.
Delicious sashimi plate and fried plate. It's a great deal especially if you use the Keikyu special ticket.

Nice little food spot. Hard to find and not a big menu but the food was great.

(Translated by Google) The sashimi was especially delicious. It was about 2000 yen for 4 pieces of medium-sized fatty tuna, red sea bream, salmon, yellowtail, sweet shrimp, and tuna kamayaki. I think the contents change every day because it changes daily, but I think it's a good deal.

(Translated by Google) I went on a Sunday morning around 6am. Parking is conveniently located nearby, which is common in rural areas. I was able to get a seat right away, but it was almost full. I ate seafood bowl and sashimi. The restaurant is right above the market, so it was definitely fresh and delicious. The fried horse mackerel was also delicious, but I thought it was a little expensive.

(Translated by Google) Compared to fish market restaurants at other fishing ports, the inside of the restaurant is clean. We ordered daily sashimi and grilled fish set meals, individual braised braised fish, daily fries, and sashimi set meals. The grilled fish looked good, but it was disappointing as there was almost no meat. The sashimi was sea bream, yellowtail, red meat, and fatty tuna, and the taste was good, but it was on the small side. The shrimp were sweet and delicious. The daily fries include 2 pieces of fried horse mackerel, 2 pieces of tuna minced meat, and 2 pieces of fried shrimp, which are quite filling. The fried horse mackerel has a plump flesh and is delicious without any odor. The tuna minced meat has light fat and is easy to eat. Even though it was a sashimi set meal, it was a mystery that it was called "Negitoro". Kakuni has just the right amount of flavor, so you can enjoy it even without rice. Both set meals were delicious, but I thought they were a little less value for money. Ordering different things and sharing them will make you feel more satisfied.

(Translated by Google) Use Keikyu Misaki Tuna Ticket The meal included in the ticket was a choice of sashimi or fries at the fish market restaurant, but it was a set meal of 2,300 yen, which was a great deal. And best of all, it's delicious, and it comes with fries, so it's very filling. Sashimi is fresh, fries are crispy Since the shop is self-service, it feels like we spend more on materials than on labor, which is also a good deal. Recommended if you don't mind self-service. (Translated by Google) I arrived before 13:00 during the first half of Golden Week, and luckily my car was parked in the free parking lot in front (there was space for about 10 cars), and I was able to get in after waiting for about 10 minutes. First, buy a meal ticket at the cash register. For lunch, there was no rice bowl for adults (maybe it was only on this day), so we, who came as a group of 4 adults and 1 child, ordered the daily grilled fish sashimi set meal, mixed fried set meal, fried oyster set meal, and tuna bowl (for children). ), I ordered fried octopus. The service was quick, and the sashimi was extremely fresh and delicious, but the grilled tuna fish had a lot of scales on it and had a bad texture, making it difficult to eat. However, for the price of 1980 yen, I am satisfied with this set meal. It's self-service, so when your plate number is called, you go get it yourself and clean up after eating. When we started eating, the restaurant was full and crowded. Even after I finished eating and left, there was a line.

(Translated by Google) Sashimi at the fishing port! Perhaps it was because I had such high expectations and had seen how luxurious Port Meals are these days, but I felt very disappointed in the meal. I ordered a set meal full of tuna, but it wasn't that luxurious, and I thought you could get a decent meal at this price (about 2,500 yen) even at an izakaya in the city. I think. Is the sashimi fresh? However, the tuna is probably frozen. It's self-service, so it feels like a fishing port meal, but it doesn't feel like a good value at all. I went there as an event with several people, but ended up eating with gloomy faces.

The added tuna cutlet was also crispy. Next time I want to eat fish while drinking. (Original)

For nearly three decades, patrons have savored the delectable offerings at Gourmet House Ho-Gyo. This renowned Japanese restaurant is known for its exquisite seafood, particularly the Misaki tuna, which has been a favorite amongst diners. With a dip in the sea prior to being served, the freshness of the seafood truly shines through. The Maguro Rice Bowl and Katsudon rice bowl are both highly recommended dishes that boast generous portions of meat and exceptional flavors.
The Maguro Rice Bowl was delicious. The Katsudon rice bowl had a decent amount meat and great flavor.

Kaiwaya, a seafood establishment, offers delectable oceanic cuisine alongside impressive ambiance. The amiable staff and moderate pricing contribute to a favorable experience overall. However, one drawback is the typical half-hour wait for service. Nevertheless, excluding this aspect, Kaiwaya comes highly recommended due to its exceptional flavors and lasting impression. This eatery's distinct character sets it apart from others in terms of both taste and location.
Very unique place.

The fishes is not fresh at all!!! The way they cut it, the taste, the smell is horrible. Really regretting coming here. When I claimed, they told me that’s fish so it supposed to smell stinky 🙃 meanwhile I’m working at a sashimi restaurant for 3 years, and I surely know what good and what not. First time here and never come back.

Very tasty seafood and very nice decoration. The staff is friendly and the prices are so-so. The only negative thing is the average 30 mins wait until you get served. Other than y, it's highly recommended!
