Gurun Pasir Bintan is a secluded tourist spot that can be easily accessed despite not being located on the main road or close to the city. This former mining site boasts of sandy hills and a stunning blue lake, which was created when the area was abandoned. There are fruit stalls in the vicinity, and while there is an entrance fee, it is reasonable.
Great view ! Don't forget to bring umbrella or wearing a hat.

Beautiful for photo taking but extremely hot. Not worth the 1 hour journey from tanjong pinang

Nice place to visit. Should visit while sunny day so that the sun, the water looks nicer in pic. Should try the coconut drinks. It’s big and only 15k for one.
Chyuan Shei Phang — Google review
Kinda extremly hot at the mid- day. But thats the best time for better scenery. Actually this is the old mining place. The sand is great, and the tosca lake thoo.
Yusa Jy Laksana — Google review
Surprisingly beautiful and out of the world landscape. Good to take pics but apart from that not much to do. You can practice archery or ride ATV.
Ruchir Srivastava — Google review
A desert in Bintan! It was really very hot and sunny at the desert. Interesting views, ride ATVs, take photos with an eagle.
Pei Yuin Ong — Google review
Pretty convenient that you can have desert and lake at the same time however there are some people selling for taking picture with hawks while they are just exposing under the sun. That’s not right, merchant didn’t treat them well
Jewel Lee — Google review
Gurun Pasir is a collection of what looks like sand dunes but isn't. For one, the undulations are hard and the sand isn't soft like a desert's. To round off the illusion, there are even cardboard cut outs of horses and camels for you to pretend you're riding. There is a cerulean pond near the fake sand dunes. I would not be surprised if some chemicals were thrown into it to create another beautiful looking illusion. It is worthwhile going here if you all seek are pictures. There is not much else to do here. There is a small community of people here thriving on the tourism by selling food, coconuts and other items. You'll definitely be grateful for some coconut water because this place can be scorching hot in the midday.

Beautiful place. Blue lake. Sand dunes. Night sky.
KM Lim — Google review
A location with unique terrain and sceneries that looks almost like a real desert! There is open parking near the entrance, and there is a nice area where cold drinks, fruits and food are sold near the entry. Btw, entry fee is IDR30.000 per person per day, and there doesn’t seem to be a closing time. That said, it does get really dark in the “desert” area at night, so do be careful! The location had some amazing views for our pre-wed shoot, and it is not too crowded. It is blisteringly hot in the day, though. I would recommend not visiting between 11am - 3pm if you want to keep cool!
Jason Lee — Google review
An old sand excavation mine that was blessed with azure coloured water body and sand dunes which provides a good opportunity for the locals to market. It is indeed unique to the area. Entry is IDR30,000 per person. You get to enter a hot sandy area with dunes emulating the dessert and the weather too. Super hot! There are ATV rides, lake boats, and wooden platforms to take photos of the azure water bodies. I was told the water lacked oxygen and there are no fishes in it. You could probably spend 30-45 mins here depending on the crowd. At the entrance, you can stop by for cold drinks and fresh coconuts.
Saherly Limat — Google review
The place is rather hidden, not really on the main road or near the city, but to reach here is rather easy. The entrance of the place is rather bumpy, and there are entrance ticket but not that expensive. The place is actually an old mining area that was abandoned and created a beautiful crystal clear lake. The place is wide and all you can see is white sand beyond the horizon and the lake. Better to visit while using your hat or umbrella at noon, since the sun is really hot at that time, and there is no shade in the area. And it feels like a desert. There are so many photo spots in the area, and also this place is rather empty on some days. Great experience
irene dyah Saraswati — Google review
Top 1 recommended spots for tourist. It was so beautiful and stunning. Moreover you can also rent ATV here to vroom across the sand dunes. The blue pond/lake was so instagrammable and everybody was so patient in queueing up to take photos. There's a small entrance fee of 25000 IDR but it's definitely worth it.
Jun Hong Kang — Google review
Must visit place in Bintan. The colour of the lake was super amazing. its like a baby blue colour. There is a place to take photo with eagle, its cost around RUP50k per person. Not so crowded in the morning. There is also a lot of photo spot. We spend around 1 hour ++ here. After the walk, we have a coconut water at the entrance market.
Theresa Lim — Google review
This place is only of sand dunes. Sunset time is the best time to visit. Good to capture photos. Other than photos there’s nothing attractive about this place. There’s also a small lake here. Small shops are available to have soft drinks, coconut water and snacks. Better not to have any expectations before visiting this place.

Italian restaurant
Pizza Casa Italia is a charming pizzeria located near Trikora Beach in Bintan, Indonesia. It is owned and operated by an Italian family who were captivated by the allure of Bintan and decided to make it their home. The restaurant offers a unique blend of authentic Italian wood-fired pizzas with locally inspired flavors such as eggs, chili, and sardines.
I would rate this place 9/10 Combination of nice beach, pizza and coconut drinks are perfect! The place also not too crowded. The entrance fee cost about IDR 5,000-10,000
Nur Hidayah — Google review
Food: cheesy and delicious. Portion reasonable for $6 SGD per pizza Price: cheapest for authentic thin crust oven baked pizza Ambience: 4/5 - strong sea breeze with airy sea views. Do note that to sit in the huts near the beach will need to book and top up in cash. Not a full five as there are still some flies. Service: 5/5 - limited English but will tries to give recommendations with smiles. Location: 2 hours drive away from Lagoi Resorts. Tip: about two hours drive from Lagoi, only go there where going Trikora beach.

Beautiful place and reasonably priced authentic pizza 🍕 highly recommended! We arrived quite late around 4.20pm, had a quick bite and managed to unwind at the serene and beautiful island/beach nearby. When it was around 4.55pm, we were approached at the beach by some staffs that informed this place is private land and they closes at 5pm. Something worth to take note of.
G — Google review
Ordered half-half tuna and egg pizza. It's really an average pizza that lacks flavours to me. Something is missing but I don't really know how to describe, it just lacked seasoning or flavour. The crust is thin but really average. Personally, dont think it's worth the trip to go there, 1 hour+ away from Anmon Hotel, 1 hour away from Blue Lake. However, the place is at seaside which was quite scenic, and pizza is relatively cheap. Not recommended! 😔 Or..don't expect too much after reading so many positive reviews 😅
R V — Google review
Beautiful beach with little island near the beach. A lot of tree so we can enjoy the beach without get burned 😅. The pizza is pretty good. Free entrance, you can rent a hut or sit in the cafe's bench while enjoy the food and the view. But i think the bathroom is dirty.. so we decide to bring our own clean water everytime we visit this place (note: we've never been swimming here)

A must visit when in Bintan! Hidden far away from the bustling resort center, lies Pizza Casa Italia, about an hours’ drive to get here but totally worth it. Hired taxi from Indorent. We got the Coconut which cost only 10.000 and per pizza cost 70.000! They have all sorts of flavors from tuna, to chicken, to chili, to sardine. We were all spoiled for choices. Was fortunate to meet the lady boss herself who started it all w her husband in the 1990s!!

Awesome place you should visit if u r in Bintan. We went there for Pizza and to meet the person who started this place. Unfortunately he was not there and we were told he went to Italy! We went ahead and ordered pizza. The staff working there does not understand much English. Hopefully our taxi driver knew and did translation for us. We ordered chicken pizza, mushroom pizza, and one cheese pizza. Pizza is a lot different from what you must have eaten else where. It is thin crust, has lot of flour and i would say quite perfectly baked in one of there old brick oven. You can sit inside near to kitchen area or there are wooden benches outside on/near beach. There are only wooden benches to sit. Ample of parking space available. It is on the beach. There is an island nearby which you can go by walk when water levels are low. Lots of sitting space available. Its better to check first whether its open or close as we had missed it on our one of bintan visit. U get water, cold drinks, ice lemon tea.

Warung Yeah! is a casual Halal restaurant located on the beautiful Lagoi Beach in Bintan, Indonesia. It offers great food at reasonable prices and provides a perfect beachside dining experience. The friendly staff and delicious menu items such as Indomie, Satay Madura, and Ikan Bulat Bakar have received high praise from customers.
We went there on the first day as our villa wasn't ready. Fell in love with their food and thereafter, we returned 3 more times during our stay. Each time, we would order the satay madura, then try other dishes. Food quality is great and prices reasonable. The cafe faces the sea and has a lovely view. The vibe is young and casual. Next door is their minimart, where we could purchase basic items eg water.

Great food, Great drinks. But service need to improve, we waited 1 hour for our food to be serve. The restaurant staff is at panic mode where they were confuse which table the food belongs to. However the food is impressively nice and authentic
Alric Tong — Google review
My five-star rating is based on how Warung Yeah! performed relative to other food options near Bintan resorts. For convenience, food quality, taste, affordability, and ambience, I think Warung Yeah! ticks most of the boxes. We came for lunch. Service was very slow but we were in no hurry so that was fine. We got their fried tumeric chicken with rice, fried garlic chicken, chicken satay, vermicelli with tofu and peanut sauce, fried banana dessert, and 2 beers plus 2 hot tea. The bill came to less than 360K IDR. The best dish was the fried tumeric chicken with rice. The vermicelli with tofu was pretty good too. So was the satay. The fried garlic chicken was a little lacklustre. Overall, a nice place near the beach. Good views. Affordable. Be prepared to wait for your food on a busy day.

After the first night of getting ripped off at the hotel and also at the usual touristy restaurants (mangrove seafood), we found this place. Very reasonably priced, great food, good service. Not many people when we were there so food was served fast. Strongly recommended.
Willis Phua — Google review
This was one of the only shops open on lagoi beach. Visited on end aug 2023. Bintan as a whole seems to be very empty. But the food from this shop was good and reasonably priced. Staff was also very friendly. Only thing was that there was alot of flies trying to get our delicious food as well

I had both lunch and dinner here during my stay in Bintan, food and view are good, service is excellent , ambience of the restaurant is far better than other restaurants around. Ayam Goreng Bawang is my favourite, highly recommend
Shen Huaqin — Google review
It is located around the corner of plaza lagoi near the beach, takes a bit of finding. Affordable and delicious Indonesian dishes! Portions are not huge but tastes really authentic, must try the indomie, satay & grilled fish! Mama B bakery is located upstairs which sells yummy freshly baked layer cake!
Gina Kimiza Tan — Google review
Great food, great people! Place was not crowded so everything is fast and service was good. We manage to try some of the food. Bintan right now is recovering from the pandemic and this place is still open which is fortunate. I highly recommend the Tahu Telur here as its my fav. My wife like the grilled roundfish and its fresh. Other dish was mutton satay which also nice. Drinks are ok. And their goreng pisang was all right, i would prefer smaller pieces rather than one big chunk though. Price was ok roughly 30 sgd, much cheaper than those seafood restaurant. Overall base on my experience hence my rating.

Pretty good food. Great price for the value you get. Good service as well
Edu 'Strada' Gemmal — Google review
Actually I’d rate it a 4.5/5. It’s almost the only eatery at Bintan Resorts so they could have charged higher but the price was rather reasonable. The wooden tables made it difficult to really wipe them clean so just a bit on the cleanliness part. There’s a separate cafe that makes latte, cappuccino etc. Overall the food quality was not bad and the service was good. Yeah! Goreng is nice.
Shan Yi Ng — Google review
While the downstairs was under renovation the kitchen seemed to adapt well to moving upstairs. Agree with previous reviews noting that there are almost no other options in the area which should be kept in mind. Nonetheless the chicken was wonderful. We had turmeric chicken, green chili chicken and grilled chicken. We also tried the whole grilled fish and a few noodles and spring rolls. All in all a delight and good excuse to get out of the hotel and into a new spot.
Sophie Guerin — Google review
Food is great at reasonable price, staff are friendly and dining at a restaurant by the beach is perfect! Ordered the Indomie 🤤 and I love it!! I think is the Indonesian belacan stir fry with Indomie giving the noodle a deep and savoury taste. Satay madura dipped in peanut and sweet soy sauce is pretty good and well-balanced. Lastly, tried the ikan bulat bakar which ain't bad although one side slightly bakar (overcooked)😅, thus tasted bitter, but flavour is there! We also take away Nasi Goreng Mawut which is fried indomie + rice and the flavour is the same as Indomie (so you can try other fried rice.

Affordable food Nice ambience Great that a mini mart is just on the 1st level of the restaurant
Cornelius Ang — Google review
Fried rice was served very slowly. But it came with an extra "ingredient". I have to spit it out from my mouth. I cannot imagine if that plate of fried rice is for any toddler. There is no point offering another plate from the store in charge when you made me wait a long time for my meal and yet with a dangerous metal part drop in your food! You deserve zero star to be honest.
Patrick Law — Google review
Excellent food with very afortable prices. Great experience both with dine in and delivery. Very delicious food and perfect service. Portions are small, what is usual here, so consider ordering 1,5 or even 2 portions per person. We have stay in hotel nearby and 2 times asked for delivery which was very fast and once asked them to organize us transport to the restaurant. We have been really satisfied with Warung Yeah and would gladly reccommed it!

Seafood restaurant
Perched on stilts above the ocean, Kelong Seafood Restaurant Nirwana Gardens offers a refined dining experience with stunning sea views. The restaurant specializes in serving a traditional Indonesian seafood menu. It is highly recommended for those who enjoy breathtaking sunsets and delicious meals. This upscale establishment is located within the Bintan Resorts area, providing visitors with an unforgettable culinary experience amidst the natural beauty of Bintan Island.
During our island exploration on Seados, we discovered the kelong seafood restaurant, perfectly poised over the ocean, offering both tranquility and romance. Affiliated with Narwana hotel, it's a must-visit for guests and foodies alike. Dining on sumptuous 1kg lobster, authentic Thai seafood rice, and crisp bok choy, the flavors were memorable. The attentive staff, ever-watchful to enhance our dining experience, paired with the serene ocean view and boats fishing for squid, encapsulates a true 'Bintan Island romantic dining experience'. Bonus: the adjacent bar on the water elevates the ambiance. A top 'Bintan seafood dining' experience not to be missed.

The deep fried garoupa in superior sauce was delicious and deserves its own mention. But really food overall was good and importantly, FRESH. And what really got me was the amazing ambience - just look at the photos! Its a kelong sure but it's a really really fine one! They even have a floating bar off the kelong restaurant! (Pictured)
Peggie Yeo — Google review
Great food, great view, great service. Pricey, but worth it nevertheless. It is highly recommended that you would have arrived before the sunset so you have time to enjoy the view. There's also this bridge leading to Calypso Floating Bar, which is even better spot to enjoy the sunset. They are all part of Nirwana Garden Resort, but wherever you're staying, it's really worth it to come and visit thia place. From other resorts, you can order a rental car (they refer it as taxi), with price starting around Rp 200 thousands for a round trip.
Krishna Wiharsa — Google review
Aside from the price, which is quite normal for a tourist restaurant, the food is good. We ate the deep fried garoupa with superior sauce and some other seafood. It’s really delicious. Definitely gonna comeback again when i visited bintan.

Best experience. Lovely restaurant, placed on pillars inside the water. The place has a superb atmosphere with Chinese relaxing music and with the view! Time your dinner at sundown if you can. The waiters are absolutely professional, always near to see what you are missing but never too close. Also very very kind of course. The dishes are amazingly tasty. Do not miss this place during your stay nearby.
Martina Klein — Google review
Revisited this restaurant from previous vacation in 2016. While the quality of the service and atmosphere remains excellent, the same cannot be said for the price which has increased by at least 50% (expect S$130 for a 2pax meal), as well as the portions of the meat and edible parts of the crab, which have decreased by at least half. The result is a quarter of the remaining value compared to my previous trip, and hence I can no longer recommend this place.
Ryan Lee — Google review
The food here is really delicious. It’s mainly Chinese style food (more canton-style). The ingredients taste really fresh. For the Hong Kong style fish, the sea bass was really tender. Only thing to note is that it is quite pricey. We paid around 4 million rupiah for a total of around 11 dishes. Each dish on average costs around 350k rupiah.
Daniel Bok — Google review
Had a wonderful meal here, ordered the prawns, crayfish, vegetables and squid. Every dish was well thought of and tasted really fresh and good. Portions were all just nice for 2 person when you order small size. Food served fast and piping hot. Truly the best meal I had in Bintan. (Especially with the limited choices available on this island near the resort areas). Definitely a must come place for a meal!
Eugene Yuen — Google review
Excellent location, overlooking the vast seafront. We enjoyed the warm friendly service, and the gong gong and deep fired garoupa is a must order. Seafood is very fresh, and served quite quickly without delay. Be sure to secure a transport booking beforehand. And check out the adjacent floating bar too for great sunset vibes.

The food here is very good , they serve alot of seafood and wok hey dishes. Tried and the fried kailan and enjoyed it very much. We also ordered the tofu which was quite tasty too. The view is great as we get to see sunset and there is a small bridge to take photo.

Back here 2nd time! Been looking forward to eat here this year. Food is very good, fresh, tasty and very big portion too! This year, we ordered black pepper prawns which is damn good - so good that we finished the gravy too 🤭. The sambal kangkong was also very nicely cooked. Worth ordering white rice which we don’t normally want (trying to cut down carbs haha). The dessert was just as good. The honeydew sago comes with watermelon. Sea coconut is refreshing! The staff are all very friendly and polite. Gonna come back here again tomorrow night.

Enjoyable dinner by the water, so the views are nice. Seafood is tasty and fresh, but not anything out of the ordinary. However would probably visit again if I was in Bintan :) Prices are fairly high, we spent 1,400,000+ for 2 people. Service was great otherwise and they take card.

Crab and sotong was fresh. Calamari was not crispy. Crab was good. Garlic prawns were not fresh. All the prawns were so tiny and powdery. 3 dishes costs us $105SGD. Too overpriced and food was not that great
Nicole Ascelina — Google review
A great seafood restaurant in the sea with fresh live seafood! The salted egg with honey crab was very delicious; so crispy that I could even eat the shell. The gong gong and calamari were tasty too. The service was excellent and the ambience was fantastic. Spacious, clean and comfortable atmosphere with sea breeze, sound of the waves, and aroma of the seafood. You can catch a beautiful sunset too if the time is right. Price was little on the high side. However it provided excellent value.
Almeo Tan (GowhereVideo) — Google review
Nice location and nicely open to the sea , floating bar next door is perfect for sunset. The scale for price doesn’t come close to actual cost. 250,000+ should be more like 1,000,000+. Singapore prices in Indonesia. If you go for a large crab or a large fish you will pay more even.

After the first night of getting ripped off at the hotel and also at the usual touristy restaurants (mangrove seafood), we found this place. Very reasonably priced, great food, good service. Not many people when we were there so food was served fast. Strongly recommended.

Most definitely, a Chinese seafood restaurant to visit when you are in Tanjung Pinang! The restaurant is very suitable for family settings and Chinese banquet lavish dinners! But when I walked in alone, the Chinese manager was quick to serve me and attended to me with care! The chilly crab and the freshly fried Naibai vegetables were spectacular! Won't loose out to any of the expensive seafood that I have had in Singapore! My dinner was only R400,400 = S$34!!! They had outside sitting by the Bay where you are able to have a glimpse of the beautiful sunset across the newly reclaimed area and bridge! I chose to sit inside and the aircon was just nice! Doubtlessly, I will make my way back here the very next time I am in Tanjung Pinang! The food is just too good to forget! God bless your New Year!

Clean and spacious Chinese cuisine seafood restaurant by the water front. Had the Assam pedas fish which was very tasty and fresh, kangkung terasi was flavourful and generous with dried prawns, not that keen on gong gong personally. Recommended if you are looking for a descent place with aircon to dine with family or a group of friends.

The fish wasn’t fresh. Bee Hoon was quite bland. Sambal Kangkung was so so. FuYong egg was served drenched in Hainanese Pork Chop style sauce. Salted Crab and Assam Sotong were good. Price was reasonable.
